?Hope or What??

Olive lay on her bed and was staring at the ceilings. Having a day off kind of su-ck especially when her friends are busy at work. She sighed and turned to stare at the left direction, still lying on her bed.

She was very bored and tired. Tired? She hasn’t done anything stressful since she got out of bed. But listen, staying at home without doing anything was more stressful, okay?

She tossed to the other side of the bed again. She was getting frustrated out of boredom. She jerked up and sat upright on the bed.

What could she do that might be fun for her? She wonders.

Cooking.

She grinned to herself and got out of bed, adjusting her gla-sses as she stood up. She took her phone along with her and descended the stairs making her way to the kitchen.

She dropped her phone on the table and walked into the kitchen. Baking kind of sound more fun to her. To those of you who don’t know… Cooking was Olive hobby. That’s one talent her friends are jealous of.

She opened her fridge and took out a can of milk, two eggs, flour, she was about to reach out for bu-tter when she heard the ringing tone of her phone.

She rolled her eyes before shutting the fridge and made her way out of the kitchen to her phone.

She picks up her phone and stare down at the caller ID, it was an unknown number calling. She knitted her brows in confusion at that. She can’t remember giving anybody her number. So no, she wasn’t expecting any unknown number to be calling her now.

She titled her head to the side as she contemplate on whether to answer the call or not. She shut her eyes close for a while…just building up her courage, so don’t judge.

She swiped the call for it to be answered. She put her phone to her ear and waited for the person to talk. She waited for a while but no one said a word. She was going to hang up when a voice said.

“Oh. She finally picked.”

“Kylie?” Olive questioned in complete shock. How did Kylie have her number? Does she even still exist? After the death of…you know who, Kylie disappeared. But she had threatened them before disappearing. So how come was she calling her now? Her heart began to race as fear overtook her.

“H…how did…you…ge…get my number?” She stuttered.

“Tsk, you know how much I hate that question. Anyway, how about we talk business, dear Olivia?”

“Business? What business?” Olivia asked, confused.

“You will see…”

“Gina?” Mia questioned as soon as she heard the door.

Gina smiled. How could she forget that this little angel has a very sensitive nose. She had promised herself not to change her perfume because of her. She wants Mia to always remember her whether blind or not.

“Hey, princess.”

“What are you doing here? I thought dad said you won’t be here for a while because of work…and did you come with someone else? I can perceive another scent aside from yours and dad’s.”

“Hello, Mia.” Elsa said with a waved. Well, too bad Mia can’t see her.

“Is that Elsa, Gina?” Mia asked immediately. what a sharp girl we have here.

“Yes princess. Remember I promise to bring you a friend when next I come around. Go on, say hello.”

“Hi Elsa. Sorry, I can’t come over to hug you. I’m blind.” Mia said, sadly. Elsa didn’t say anything and that made Mia felt so uncomfortable. “It’s okay if you don’t want to be my friend, I mean…”

“You are so beautiful. Now I see why Aunty calls you princess. Can I be your friend?” Elsa asked, walking closer to Mia.

Mia once sad face became a smiling one. “Yes, you can be my friend. In fact, you can be my best friend!” The little girl was over excited to have a friend of her age. After becoming blind she had never played with someone of her age. She was always indoor, doing nothing. But ever since Gina stepped into her life.. it changed. And it was for the best.

“best friend? i thought I was your best Friend.” Gina said, feigning hurt.

“You are like a mummy to me while Elsa is my best friend.” The little girl said, smiling.

Gina slowly turned to Clay, he was just staring at her. She knew what Mia had said had kind of hurt him. He loved his wife with all of his heart. And she doesn’t think he would want to replace her or anything. Not like she was complaining or something.

In fact, she doesn’t even care about that….right?

“Let’s go to my room.” Mia said to Elsa. “Um, can you help me?”

Elsa smiled and playfully hit Mia on her arm, gently. “Silly! Of course I would help you. Best friends help each other, remember?” She pulled Mia up and they both went upstairs to Mia’s room.

“Wow. It’s been a while since I last saw two kids playing.” Gina said as soon as the two children were out of sight. “I should have brou-ght Elsa here on time, maybe…” She was stopped mid sentence as soon as she felt two strong arms wrap around her body from behind. That made her heart started racing. “Wha…what are you doing?” Her heart were beating fast. She was terrified. Her past. The fear. She was shaking. She should have push him. But she didn’t. She just stood still.

“This is my own way of saying thank you. Ever since you came into our lives…it changed. And I’m more than grateful for that. Thank you for making my daughter smile like that. I really appreciate.” He said still keeping her in his arms.

“She just needed a friend. A friend to take the burden and the bad thoughts out.” She said.

“Thank you.” He whispered in her ear. He finally let of her and headed to the kitchen while Gina took in a de-ep breath before following him from behind into the kitchen.

“What should we prepare for the two girls?” Clayton asked, his back against her.

Gina didn’t say anything. She was just staring at his broad back from behind. What was that feeling she felt as he hug-ged her. Why didn’t she push him? Why does she want him to hug her again? what was wrong with her?

“Back to earth, Gina.” Clay said as he snapped his fingers in front of her face that brou-ght her back to the world. “What were you thinking about?”

“You.” She blurted out. Clayton gave her a confusing look. She bit her lower li-p. why had she said that? “I mean, I was thinking about what you said earlier.” She said.

“Oh. So what do you say?”

Good news here was…she was able to deal with the awkward situation earlier ago but the bad news here was, she doesn’t even know what exactly he had talked about.

She smiled. “Um…I say yes.”

“Yes to what?”

“Yes to what you had said. Let’s do it.” She said awkwardly. She felt stupid. Actually, this was stupid.

“And what was it that I said?” Clayton asked now, giving her a pointed look.

She look around them. They were standing in the middle of the kitchen. So what exactly could he have talked about?

She don’t know!

“Did you hear my name?”

“Your name?”

“Yeah. I think the kids needs my attention. I will see you out there.” She quickly ran out of the kitchen. That was the quickest way to get out of the awkward situation.

Clayton just smiled. This was actually the first time he had seen her like that. She was always tough and all that. But now…she was different. A good different.

Zoe walked into her apartment. Gina and Clayton had left the office on time. They said they had an important thing to take care of. She was happy on how their relationship turned out to be.

At first, she thought they would kill themselves but thank God they ended up becoming friends.

She sat down on her couch and took out her phone. She had a new message from Olive.

Oly?: Just to let you guys know. I would be going over to meet up with Kylie. Yeah, that Kylie. Just informing you so you would know about my whereabout. See ya! And yes, tell the others. Xoxo:)

“Kylie? Why on earth does Kylie wants to meet up with her?” She suddenly heard the doorbell. She got up to her feet and pulled the door open. But she didn’t find anyone there aside from a note.

She was expecting this. She picked up the note and walked into her house, shutting the door close.

She opened the note and it says;

I love rosess. But do you know what I love more….blood? Yeah, you got that right. See you in…no, see you the day you?.

She turned the note to see the first alphabet written at the back of the note.

“O…” She breath out. “Olive is the next victim after…Maddie?” TBC.
