“MILO!!” Chloe was fast enough to push Milo out of the way before the bullet could get to him. Both fell to the ground while Milo grunts painfully.
Hailey’s hands went down weakly as she shot the gun the second time. Her face already turned pale and she seems to have lost so much blood also.
Panting weakly, her eyes eventually went close and she passed out.
“Mi…Milo! Milo are you okay?!!” Chloe held Milo from the ground but he pushes her off with every strength in him. Losing so much blood also, he crawls to the unconscious Hailey touching her face.
“Hailey…Hailey…” He muttered weakly hugging her to himself.
~HOSPITAL~
Both was operated on and fortunately they were both saved just that Milo’s remained in coma while Hailey woke up hours later. Milo’s condition seems to be critical.
The police came and Chloe gave her statement. Due to the power her father has, she wasn’t detained but she was put under the list of suspects even though she told them Hailey shot the gun.
The police couldn’t do anything like arresting Hailey or Chloe since they’ve got no specific evidence. The CCTV footage seems to have been deleted and only one gun was found with Milo’s palm prints. Since Hailey wouldn’t say a thing to anyone either they have no choice but to hope Milo wakes up soon to explain what really happened.
Ever since Hailey woke up she has not spoken a word to anything. Rather she just stares into space.
Mr and Mrs Hamilton stayed with her all day trying to cheer her up in every way possible but rather she treated them like a stranger, not giving them face at all.
Chloe on the other hand, has always been beside Milo praying and wishing he wakes up very soon.

“You can’t believe he almost pooped in his pants. You should have seen how he had hopped to the toilet it was such an hilarious scene to watch!” Webby laughed while Franco rolled his eyes.
“Are you satisfied now? Broadcasting it to every Tom, dick and Harry? Uh??” Franco scrowl.
“Of course I’m not satisfied, the world must know how humiliating you were” Webby replied teasingly.
“Shut it! Hey do you know she submitted an unanswered sheet today? The head teacher made a fuss and called her mom…it was such a mess!” Franco said also while Webby hit his shoulder.
“Why would you tell her that?”
“Why? You can but I can’t?”
“Shut it”
“You shut it!”
“You should be the one to shut it!”
“No you should!”
“You should!”
“You do it first!” Webby and Franco keep on arguing not realizing when the nurse came in. The nurse checked on Hailey who wouldn’t say anything as usual but just stare into space blankly. She changed her IV drip bag then turns to Webby and Franco.
“I think you guys should leave now. She needs to rest and you’re not helping” The nurse said to them.
Webby clears her throat.
“Hal…we’ll come again tomorrow, don’t worry I promise to come along with your favorite chocolate bar. Rest early” She gave her a slight hug which Hailey didn’t return.
“I’m leaving…see you again” Franco said also
“Let’s go” He said to Webby and she nods heading to the door with Franco.
“Aren’t you coming?” Franco asked Rhett who has been sitting on the sofa quietly.
“Umm….I am” He said.
“Hurry” Franco said and went out.
“Rest” The nurse said to Hailey and walk away from her.
“You should leave also” She said to Rhett who nods and stood up. The nurse smiles and went out and Rhett head towards the door also after giving Hailey one last look.
“Do me a favor” He suddenly heard and stops. He looks back at Hailey who wasn’t looking at him.
“I know of everything you’ve done so far” She said again making him gasp.
“Hallelujah i_” Hailey face him and he stops talking.
“I’ll give you a chance to redeem yourself. Do something for me” She said.
“Wha…what?” He asked.
“Help me…get something from home” She requested.
~TWO DAYS LATER~ { MILO’S WARD }
Breathing steadily into the oxygen mask, Milo skelly his eyes slowly before opening them fully. His eyeballs roves around taking in the environment he’s in.
He tries moving his hand but then discovered it was been held down. He look sideways and saw a lady’s head on the bed. She’s probably holding his hand. Her hair was all over her face so he couldn’t make out who it really is.
“Hailey…” He called within moving his second hand towards her. Due to him moving, Chloe woke up from her slumber. She raised her head up slowly and on seeing Milo awake, her eyes widened.
“Milo?” She called.
Milo on seeing it’s her rather withdrew his hand. Disappointed.
“Milo! Milo you’re awake! Oh! My God! Milo? Doctor!! Where’s is the doctor he’s awake!!” Chloe called out excitedly.

“Thankfully his condition is stabilized and he seems to be responding to treatment also. He just needs some rest. There’s no cause for alarm” The doctor smiles at the worried Chloe.
“Thank you doctor” Chloe appreciated.
“Then I’ll take my leave”
“Where is Hailey?” He asked before the doctor could take a step.
“Umm..”
“Doctor you can leave I’ll take care of it” Chloe said and the doctor nods going out.
“I need to go to Hailey” He made to stand but Chloe stops him.
“You shouldn’t move around yet. You’re not fully okay”
“Let go. Where is she? Where is my wife?” He grits.
“I don’t know” Chloe folds her arms.
Glaring, Milo proceeded in getting up once again and Chloe tries stopping him again but this time Milo shoved her away with every strength he has in him.
“Ah!” She wince falling to the floor.
Milo got away from the bed but the moment he did, he fell to the floor.
“Milo!!” Chloe shrieks running to him and holding him.
“Let me go!” He glowered.
“She’s fine! She’s okay so stop all this! You’re not meant to move around carelesssly”
“I’m going to my wife” He affirms stubbornly.
“I already told you she’s okay! The bullet was removed and she woke up days ago. She’s perfectly fine so…please. Just wait. Wait till you’re okay enough to see her uh?”
“You’re still very much injured and you just woke up. Do you want to die before you see her?” She asked and he calmed down a little.
“Come on” She help him up to the bed back.
“Get out!” He said.
“Milo…”
“Get out Chloe…get out!” He seethes. Chloe sighs.
“Then I’ll be just outside. Call me when you need” She said and went out reluctantly. Milo rested back on the bed.
~HOURS LATER~
Chloe actually went home for a change of clothes and also to prepare food for him and Milo used the chance to escape from his room after tricking the guards placed outside his room.
He entered the wards one by one looking for Hailey and on entering the seventh one, he saw her. Sitting on the bed and staring out of the window.
“Hai…Hailey?” He called and she looks to his side with a blank expression on.
“Hailey!” He rushes over to his side pulling her into a hug. Hailey didn’t move or reciprocate the hug till he disengage.
“Are you okay? Does it hurts? How are you feeling??” He keeps asking checking her out.
“Why do you seem so worried? I killed you” She said making him stop.
“Shouldn’t you be hating me to the bone right now? You must wanna kill me so much right now” She added.
“Hailey…what are you saying?” He brought his palm to her face and cup it.
“You’re my wife” He mutters affectionately but that only makes her sneers.
“Give me a break. Are you still playing that?”
“I’m sorry…I’m sorry for causing you pain. It must have been hard on you…it must have been so difficult for you…”
“Cut it out! What do you know? You know nothing. You know nothing about my pains!!”
“How could I not possibly not? I can see right through you. I’m your husband remember?”
“Why don’t you just get angry? Why don’t you just hate me?? Why don’t you just curse and torture me or even worse kill me right now!!!”
“You…are my wife”
“Don’t kid me. We’re not even real”
“Hailey…”
“Yeah…as you may have guesed, I faked it all. I faked everything. I lied to you. Everything, everything was a lie from the onset. I’ve actually been waiting for you to come get me…but never knew it’ll be so soon. You must be so patient to get your wife. It was fun though, seeing you act all tough. I decided to play the game with you. As Chloe said, I set myself up, link out the photos, pushed myself down the stairs and pretended to lose my memories. Everything was an act…an act to win your trust. An act to win you over completely. And I did…” She grins.
“Even though it may all be an act…I do know everything we had between us, was real. Everything we shared together…they were all sincere” He said back loftly but Hailey’s eyes turned dark.
“Don’t act up. Now it’s time to end this ill fated relationship” She slip her hand inside the blanket and brought out the dagger he gave her, within a swift, she stab him in the chest with it. Milo’s mouth went wide open and blood started circulating instantly.
“Do you remember…you gave me this yourself. I figured out it’ll be the best weapon to end your life with…how does it feel to get stabbed by the one you least expected? I wanted you to feel the pain. The pain of betrayal you get from someone you trust so much…the same pain my Dad felt…when your Dad shot that gun” She said menacingly but to her surprise, Milo only smiles back at her.
“I told you right…to use this without no hesitation whenever you wanna use it” He said and before she could say ‘jack!’ He place his hands on her hands on the dagger and pushed it in more forcefully into his chest. Hailey gasps loudly and blood spring out of his mouth.
“You shouldn’t hesitate…to do…what you’ve been…mea…ning to do when you get the chance…I clearly told you that…” He coughs out blood.
“Milo…” She says with her eyes brimming with tears already. Milo brought his hand forward to her face and careless it softly.
“I’m…sorry…” He said almost in a whisper. She shook her head in return.
“Always remember no matter what…you’re my wife Hailey. You’re my only little woman…” He mutters with the blood sprouting out of his mouth. The tears finally fell out of her eyes and at the same time, he removed the dagger roughly from his chest.
“Ahhh!” He sprouts out more blood from his mouth some splattering on her face.
Hailey nods her head with the tears streaming down her face now.
“You married the wrong person. You chose the wrong person Milo…you did…” She said as he drops to the floor.
The door opens and Chloe rushes. She stops and shrieks on seeing Milo struggling on the floor with blood all over him then Hailey standing with a dagger stained with blood in her hand.
“MILOOO!!!” She cried and running to his side.
“Milo! Milo…look at me Milo…no…Milo…” She began crying while Milo brings his hand slowly to her face.
“Chl…chlo..ee” She quickly held his hand, tears falling down simultaneously.
“I’m…I’m so…rry. Hailey…Hailey…take…care of…take…” He never gets to complete his statement before going unconscious.
“MILO!!!” She cried out. Hailey just stood watching everything. Chloe raised up her head and look at Hailey with reddened furious eyes. In a swift, she stood up and went to her pushing her brutally. Hailey staggers backward and fell to the bed. But Chloe wasn’t done. She pulled her up and gave her a real hard punch on the face. Her lilps bursted immediately. Hailey now angry tries to fight back but Chloe’s words made her halt.
“You’re just like your father. Brutal, evil and wicked!!” She spat.
“Don’t you dare run your mouth…you know nothing”
“Nothing? No…I know everything! I know every little damn thing he has done! You know he deserves that death…no. He deserves much worse”
“I said not to run your mouth!!” Hailey howled giving Chloe a punch also. Chloe smirks.
“Yeah…like that. Be like him. A sick uncontrollable psycho!! How dare you! How dare you do that to Milo!!”
“He got what he deserves!! My father trusted his but what did he got in return? Betrayal!! In front of me….in front of me both my mother and father was killed!! Right in front of me…his damn father pointed the gun at my father and killed him!! RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!”
“Then you must know well…how horrible your father is?”
“What?”
“Not only did he abuse his authority, he was a sick maniac who committed a lot of serious crimes. Sexual assault, physical assault, Bullying and extortion!!! He was a great breaker of law and a tyrant. Do you know how many people he had hurt?? He was arrested but then he escaped and tries running away with you and your mother, when your mother failed to go with him he killed her…brutally without any mercy just like how he has done to other people”
“No…stop…stop…it’s all lies”
“All Milo’s father did was to stop him…ALL HE DID WAS TO STOP YOUR MANIAC OF A FATHER!!!”
“STOPPP!!!”
“Your father got what he deserves. He needed someone to stop him and Milo’s father only took the painful responsibility to do that but what? You dare do this to him!! Both you and your father are monsters!! I promise you…if he doesn’t get through this…then I’mma kill you myself” Chloe warned dangerously before going back to Milo helping him out of the room.
“What…?” Hailey held unto the bed for support.
“No…no…NOO!!!” She screamed out.
“It can’t be!”
“It’s a lie!”
“No!!!” She kept saying holding her head.
“It can’t…it…” She stopped when something suddenly flashes through her mind.
“Betty run away…run!!! You have to runn!!”
“Mom!! Mom!!”
“He’ll hurt you if you don’t!! Please run for me. Run away for your mother!!!”
“Mommy!! Mommy!!!”
“ARRGGGHHHH!!!!” She screamed really loudly this time holding her head with the memories from nine years ago all flashing in.
