Chapter 49 & 50
ā It is time ā
The morning sunlight shone brightly through the open curtain into the room. Hailey squinted and opens her eyes slowly. Stretching, she turns to the other side of the bed only to see the sexy figure of her shirtless husband lying next to her. A sweet smile welcomed her face and she turns to him fully. Her hands went to his hair pushing aside the tendrils covering his forehead. Stil smiling, she traces her finger down to his well sculpted nose then to his dishy dry pink lips which formed a thin horizontal line. Tilting her head, she gave him a soft peck on the lips and just when she was about returning to her normal position, his large arm held her waist back to him making her lips crash back on his. This time, he opens up and took in her lips whole deepening the kiss with his tongue feasting on every corners of her mouth. Not unlocking, he turned her over with him getting on top while she wrap her arms around his neck kissing him back just in the same slow, but steamy pace savoring his mint like taste.
“Beautiful morning Little wifey…” He greeted after unlocking from the kiss moments later.
“Sweet morning little Hubby” She grins back and he gave her a short kiss on the bridge of her nose.
“I have a present for you” He said and she raised a brow.
“For me? What is it?” She quizzes and he smiles pulling away from her. Hailey also sat up on the bed watching him opens his drawer to bring out something.
“Here” He extend a box to her and Hailey collected it immediately with excitement.
“What is it?” She asked and he gave her the green light to check it out. She hurriedly opens the box but then her smile died down on seeing what’s inside.
She drops the box on the bed and sighs.
“Seriously??” She asked.
“Do you like it?” He asked back.
“You think I do?” She retaliated.
“Seriously you’re one weird human I’ve never come across in my life..I mean who on earth gives his wife something that kills as present?” She whines. Milo snickers and took the necklace in the box. It was actually a necklace with bullet and its pendant. A real bullet.
“You think this is only for killing?” He asked.
“Then what else if not?”
“This…is rather for protection”
“Uh?”
“Hailey…even though I vowed to protect you I can’t be there with you everytime. I need you to have these so even if I’m not with you you’ll be able to save yourself”
“You…do you want me to go around with gun? That is illegal you know” She said and he chuckles. He took the necklace and wore it on her neck.
“Always wear this on you…it’ll surely have it role to play a day” He said loftly. She looks down at the pendant on her neck and sighs.
“And this…” Milo took the second thing in the box, a dagger.
“Must I really take that also?”
“Hailey listen…whenever you are to use this, I want you to use it without any hesitation. If you hesitate then you’ll be taken down, so take this and protect yourself always. Okay?” He asked and she nods slowly.
“Do I have to take it around with me?”
“I’ll do my best to protect you but I want you to also…put in all your best to always save yourself alright?” He said stroking her hair.
“Okay” She bits her lower lip.
He smiles and pulled her into a hug.
“You gave me a gift but I didn’t even get you anything” She muttered in his arms.
“Having you here with me at this present moment, is an irreplaceable gift on its own” He mutters back.
“I’m sorry…for always making you worry” She said.
“And I’m more sorry…for making you feel sorry” He mutters back hugging her more tightly.
“If there ever comes a day where you had to make a difficult decision…I hope you go for the one you really want. Don’t ever hesitate to do whatever you really wanna do because of anything. Don’t put anything into consideration. Just do what you have always wanna do” He mutters slowly and Hailey disengage from the hug.
“What decision?” She asked cluelessly but he smiles carelessing her cheek.
“Something” He replied.
~STARBELL HIGH~
“I wonder how she’s doing…she wouldn’t be expelled, would she?” Webby asked downcasted.
“Her husband is a teacher and more so he’s rich, you think he’ll let that happen?” Franco said back licking a lollipop.
“He’s only a teacher not the owner of the school! And also I heard he got in trouble for hurting the Vice principal. You think he’s in any position to help anyone right now!” Webbey snaps at Franco.
“Hey! Why are you yelling at me! I never asked her to steal in the first place!” Franco snaps back but he had to jerk up when Webby bangs her palms on the table suddenly.
“SHE DIDN’T DO IT!!” She yelled at him getting all attention on her.
“Hey!” Franco looks at her surprised.
“I trust Hal she would never do such a thing” She added.
“Are you inside her? You can never know what she’s thinking. Just because you’re friends doesn’t mean she’d tell you everything. Don’t you have secrets you’re keeping from her also? Do you tell her everything!” Franco pointed.
“You little!” She made to hit him but Rhett was quick to stop her.
“Calm down. You don’t wanna add to the problem on grond” Rhett said rather calmly. Webby hissed at Franco before taking her seat back.
“I really can’t talk with you…you have no humane feelings what do I expect” She says.
“What?”
“And also we ain’t just friends, We’re best friends! BEST FRIENDS!” She affirms.
“Suit yourself” Franco shrugged.
“Rhett you tell me, do you believe she could do such a thing? Do you really think Hal would do that?” Webby faced Rhett but he couldn’t utter a word back.
“See see…even your twin thinks the same. Pfft” Franco huffed.
“Rhett…you too?” Webby asked disappointed.
“I…I don’t know” Rhett says avoiding her gaze.
“Hal would never do that! She would never! I trust her even if you guys don’t! My Hal would never! Oh no what to do…it’ll be over for her if she gets expelled…what to do!!” Webby lamented.
Rhett not able to take it anymore stood up.
“Where are you going?” Franco asked.
“I…I have to use the restroom” He says hurriedly and rush away from there.
“Weird” Franco muttered.
“Halll!! What do we do!! Oh!, my Halll!!” Webby continues lamenting.
“Ugghh! How noisy! HEY!!” He yelled at her.
“WHAT!!” She yelled back.
“Want some ice cream?” He smiles.

Hailey stood in front of the disciplinary committee members with her head slightly bowed getting chewed on by every members present there. This has actually been going on for some minutes now. The only person who didn’t insult her like others was Chloe but she didn’t defend her either. Only Milo speaks up for her but being in trouble for what he did with the vice principal, he was restricted to stand up for her anymore. So, he just sat there watching them all bully her with his eyes shooting daggers at them.
Mrs Hamilton is also present sitting beside Hailey also affirming her daughter would never do such thing she’s accused of. With the CCTV, her innocence would have been proven, but unfortunately someone tampered with it so there was absolutely no way for her to get away from the accusation. No matter how much she denies it, no one believed her.
“I stand for expulsion” One of the members said.
“What she did is absolutely unacceptable! Children like her deserves to be taught a really tough lesson if not they won’t know the gravity of the offense they’ve committed!” He added.
“I concur! STAR BELLS is a highly reputable institution. We certainly don’t need a reproach like her to taint it. She deserves expulsion and nothing else!” Another agreed.
“She should be expelled!”
“Expel her!”
“Get out of this school!”
Hailey heaves heavily releasing her intertwined fingers.
Now it’s over!
There’s no way out for her. Tears welled up in her eyes and without no hindrance it fell down her cheeks.
“My daughter…my daughter wouldn’t do such! Please don’t expel her. Give her one more chance! She’s innocent!” Mrs Hamilton pleaded but seems the committee has already made up their decision.
“Since the board all go for expulsion then I approve it. Henceforth, Hallelujah Hamilton is no more a student of STAR BELLS. You are expelled!” The principal announced. Milo balled his fists while Chloe smiles secretly.
“No…no! You can’t! You can’t expel her!”
“Mrs Hamilton you can leave with your daughter. Mr Milo Cooper next up. For your hearing” The principal ordered.
“Mom…” Hailey quivered shaking her head.
“My daughter…my daughter…”
“SHE DIDN’T DO IT!!” A voice suddenly boomed from the door. They all divert their attention to it only to see Rhett breathing heavily by the door. Seems he ran over there.
Chloe gasped loudly on seeing him. Her eyes widened twice as big in their sockets. Rhett’s eyes met hers and she shook her head telling him not to do anything reckless. But seems Rhett came with his mind made up.
He walked further to the committee members and bowed slightly greeting them totally ignoring Chloe.
“Hallelujah…didn’t steal the exams papers. She was framed. I can prove it” He drops the bomb confusing everyone present in the room. Chloe clench her fists where she was seated.
~LATER~
The students all gathered watching the violence scene in front of them. Murmurs and gasps could be heard from them followed by groans and grunts by the one displaying the dramas.
“Where did he disappears to just now. I told him to wait but he ditch me? That irresponsible jerk…” Webby seethes elongating her neck looking for Franco.
She saw the students gathered round watching something intently and by curiosity, she went to check it out. Her eyes went big on seeing two guys on a fists fight. To put it simply, a guy she knows clearly well was actually beating up another guy.
“OH! MY GOD! FRANCO!!” She shrieked, and runs quickly to the scene separating them.
“Franco stop! You’re gonna kill him!!” She shouted but he ignored her proceeding on punching the other guy.
“Stop it Franco! Stop!!” She pulled him away forcefully literally dragging him out of the place.
“Let me go! Let me teach that useless racoon a f**king lesson! Hey! You listen! The next f**king time you open your goddamn gob to utter inappropriate remarks about Hallelujah again I swear I’m gonna kill you! I’ll kill you!! I will!! Let me go!!” He continues ranting as Webby dragged him away.
~CLASSROOM~
“OW!! easy!” Franco writhes as Webby treats the cuts on his brow. She hits his shoulder.
“Ouch!!” He wince.
“I thought you said you didn’t believe her? Great to see you beating someone up because of her” She says and he looks away.
“I never said I don’t. I only said you can never know what she’s thinking” He replies nonchalantly. Webby smiles and embrace taking him by surprise.
“Jerk” She muttered over his shoulder.
“But ain’t I cool earlier? I look like a total bad ass when punching him, didn’t I?” He joked.
“Sure…you were really cool. I almost fell for you for real” She replied and he wraps his arms around her hugging her back.
“It’s okay to…I’m totally fine with it” He smiles. They stayed like that until they heard a cough disrupting them. They quickly disengage and turns back only to see Hailey standing a little further from them.
“Umm…am I disrupting something here?” She smiles wiggling a brow.
“Hal!!” Webby called and ran to her giving her a bone crashing hug.

Rhett had actually cleared the air about the stolen papers. He admitted he did it and asked for forgiveness. Though what he did warranted expulsion but coupled with the fact that he came to admit it himself and reflected on his actions, as his punishment, he was to repeat the class the following year. Milo also forcefully apologized to the vice principal and he arrogantly accepted it. Milo was left off the hook with a warning and the matter ended there.
Chloe smiles walking beside Milo, she was actually relived Rhett didn’t mentioned her and even wondered why he did something so stupid. It’s such a pity Hailey got away with it but that doesn’t mean she’s giving up. Unless she sees her go down then…this ain’t ending. Never!
Milo texted Hailey telling her to go home herself since he’ll be dropping Chloe home first and Hailey used the opportunity to go to her parents’ house.
Getting into the car, Milo’s phone rang and he picked it up immediately on seeing the caller. His private investigator.
“Hello. Did you find out anything?” He asked on accepting the call.
“Yes. I found the guy at the party. He told me everything” The private investigator replied at the other end.
“Alright..send me the address..I’m coming over” He ends the call.
“What is it? It seems urgent” Chloe asked
“The person that link the video was found. The guy at the party” He replied.
“Really? Let’s go together..I’d love to know what really happened too” Chloe said.
~LATER AT CHLOE’S HOUSE ~
“I should have known. This was all set up! She was only lying to you all along” Chloe spat pacing to and fro.
“There must be a mistake somewhere” Milo muttered with his head lowered. He’s currently sitting on the sofa while Chloe is pacing around.
“Mistake? Mistake you say? Didn’t you heard what the guy said? Everything was all planned by her! Don’t tell me you still trust her despite what you just found out?” Chloe asked but he said nothing.
“Seriously!! Milo are you stupid?”
“It could be lies! It could be another lie to set her up!”
“You wish but you know it’s true! I told you then right? The stairs incident, I told you I didn’t push her do you remember? Everything was all her set up! She sets everything up with the guy and even posted the picture of herself don’t you really get why she’s doing all this? Milo wake up already..that girl…she’s dangerous. She isn’t who you think she is. You can’t be with her”
“I…I need to hear from her. Hailey…I will speak to her myself” He stood up.
“And then what? What if she denies it? Would you believe her like a fool?” Chloe asked behind him.
“You know Milo. You know well. Deep inside of you, you clearly know what she’s capable of doing. Don’t turn away from the truth. You and that girl can never be together. You…weren’t meant to be in the first place..just stop it now uh?”
“Don’t jump into conclusion. She’s my wife..watch what you say”
“Milo!” She called angrily standing up. She marches away from the sofa to him standing in front of him.
“It’s not too late…to put everything back to its right places. Don’t make the same mistake your father did. Do the right thing now Milo” She said more like a warning.
“I’m leaving” Milo rather turns away from her but before he could take two steps, Chloe knocked him out from behind. Instantly, he went down lying unconscious on the floor.
Chloe removed the cast on her hand, tossed it away and squatted before him pushing aside his fringes on his forehead.
“I’m sorry Milo but I don’t mind doing this to get you back to your right senses. I won’t ever let you go back to that b*tch!”
~NIGHT~
“How could you do this!!!”
“No…don’t do it!”
“Runnnn!!!”
“No….No!!”
“You’re a monster!! You’ll pay for this!!”
“JUST RUNNN!!!”
“NO!! DON’T DO IT!!”
“RUNN!!!”
“No…No…AHHH!!” Hailey jolted up from her sleep with a loud scream. Her chest heaves up and down heavily with balls of sweats running down her face.
She looks around her surroundings to find out she was in her room and it was still very much dark also. Seems like another nightmare again. She swept up her hair and pull the duvet away from her body. She got a band from her desk and packed her hair in a pony tail then she got away from the bed, and stride to the window opening the curtains. She stared at the blinding colorful lights from the various skyscraper buildings outside from her window and sighs. Then she brought her hand to the bullet pendant on her neck rubbing on it gently.
“I guess it is time” A heavy sigh left her lips as she said this.
“Time for the hunter to finally get hunted” She added with a totally expression on.
“It is time” She smiles darkly.
