*Walker Mansion*

“This is all your fault.” James roared at their mother angrily.

“Why are you so evil? Why are you so bent on ruining the lives of your children? Can’t you be like other mothers out there? See what your pride have caused us, are you happy now?” He spoke throu-ghgritted teeth as he glared at his mother, who was sitting at the dining table in shock. Her hand quavering as she kept watching the video which has been sent to every member of the family.

“I swear I’m never going to forgive you for this till my last breath.” He slammed his hand on the table.

A tear rolled down her cheek as she continued watching the video.

Father Walker was on the phone talking to someone. He has been on the phone for the last ten minutes talking to different people, obviously trying to get some help in saving his daughter. Lair was also seated at another end of the sitting room. He was falling apa-rt, a tear rolled down his cheek as he watched the video for the third time.

He was helpless, the whole family was helpless. No one knew what to do, where to find her or where to even start from.

Everyone was still lost to their thoughts when all their phones chimed at the same time.

They hurriedly opened up the text and there was another message from Amy’s abductor. It read,

“City Square, 10 pm. Confess your crime or she dies.” Attached to it was a video of Amy crying for help as she tried to shake off the ticking thing attached to her wa-ist.

“Amy!” Lair cried out.

His eyes dashed towards their mother with who was still seating. She was supposed to be on her feet, running towards the said address. He strode towards her and stopped in front of her, “Stand up” He said in a very cold voice.

Mrs Walker looked at him with confused eyes, “For what?” Her voice was small and shaky.

Lair looked at her like she was asking a very stupid question. “Are you really asking me that? Didn’t you see the message he sent? You’re going to the city centre and you’re going to confess to your crime right now.” He declared.

Vigorously shaking her head, she said, “I won’t.”

“You won’t what?” Lair asked lividly.

“I dare you to say that again!” James threatened. He couldn’t believe she dared to refuse to admit to her crimes to save her daughter.

She kept on shaking her head, tears rolling down her cheeks, “I can’t, I’ll go to jail. I can’t.” She protested.

“And my daughter, our daughter would die for your selfishness!” Mr Walker roared angrily. This was the first time he was speaking to her since they received that video.

Mrs Walker shook her head when she heard that.

“But what if he harms her even after I confess? Can you guarantee he wouldn’t hurt her? That guy is a criminal.”

“No mother, you are the criminal here and you created whoever that guy had become. You have two option, walk down that door to the car, or I swear I’ll pull you by your hair till we get there.. Your choice.”
__________

Blake was surprised when he saw Ethan rushing out of his dressing room, his manager running after him with a worried look on his face like he was able to cry.

“Ethan you can’t do this, thousands of people are out there waiting for you. You still have a lot of performance tonight. This will be bad” He warned.

Ethan looked at his ranting manager, he removed the cap from his head and placed it on his, “If my fans prefer to hear me sing while my friend is in danger, then they don’t deserve to be called my fans at all. And if they want their money refunded back, then do it. This was supposed to be my last show anyway.”

“Ethan!” The manager snapped making Ethan sigh.

Ethan placed his hand on his shoulders and looked at him, “I’m doing the right thing. This girl she’s like a sister to me, and I did wrong to her by being selfish. Let me make things right please.” He said in a gentle tone. He and his manager had a good relationship, they had been working together for years and he knew the man would un-derstand him.

The manager let out a defeated sigh, as he reluctantly nodded his head, “But make it back in time. Maybe we can stall for a while. I promised your last concert will be lit, I’ll keep my promise.” He patted Ethan on his back.

“Okay, I will” Ethan nodded before turning to Blake, “Let’s go.” He said before hurrying out throu-ghthe emergency exit.

Blake was surprised that Ethan would give up his last concert just like that. He didn’t know Amy meant so much to him. And what did he mean by he wanted to make things right? What had he done wrong in the first place?

“Where are we going now?” Blake asked as Ethan hurried ahead of him.

“To save our girl man,” Ethan said as he hastened his steps.

‘Our girl?’ Blake frowned at the sound of that. He didn’t like the sound of ‘our’, but now was not the time to ponder about that.

“Where’s your car?” Ethan turned to Blake and asked.

“Over there,” Blake replied pointing to his car just right by their side.

“Let’s go.” Ethan hurried towards it, while Blake followed suit.

Blake jumped into the driver’s seat and looked at Ethan, “Where to?”

P@$$ing his tab over to him, he pointed at the red dot blinking at the tab. “That’s him, that’s where he is”

Blake didn’t nee-d anyone to tell him what he was looking at, it was a GPS tracker.

‘But how…never mind’ Now wasn’t the time to ask questions. They had to save Amy and that’s all that matters.
….

“Micheal Please I’m begging you” Amy pleaded desperately. She has been pleading with him since she woke up to see herself in his horrid predicament.

She couldn’t believe this was happening to her right now. She was going to die, wasn’t she?

If not from the bomb that was ticking on her wa-ist but from the cold. She looked behind and fear gripped her heart. She was standing feet above ground level.

“Micheal, I know my family deserves to be punished, but please don’t kill me, I’m sorry.” Maybe it was greedy of her not to want to die, but who would willingly accept death? No one!

The man who was leaning on the car not too far away from her, scoffed when he heard her plea.

He lit up the cigarette in his hand and took a whiff of it before walking closer to her.

He shook his head as he gave her a full look.

“You know, I’ve always wondered what he saw in you that made him p@$$ throu-ghso much till his point of death,” He scoffed mockingly.

“And I’ve spent the last five years wondering what I would do when I finally lay my hands on you and your family, but I was never able to come up with something tangible, something that would ease my heart, satisfy my rage till I met a pa-rticular person and she told me, the best way to ease my pain was to serve it back to the people who inflicted me with it. I must say I’m truly grateful to her for this splendid advice because today I’m going to give back the pain that I’ve felt for the years.” He paused and took another whiff of his cigarette, blowing the smoke on Amy’s face which was soiled with tears, the smoke made her cough. She was crying bitterly as she listened to him.

“Killing you is how I’ll let go of my pain because you and your family took everything from me. You took my brother, my entire family and I was left all alone. Do you know how that feels?” He asked angrily, his eyes flashing red in anger.

“Do you know? Do you know the pains I p@$$ed throu-ghlosing my whole family because of your selfish and wicked mother? Just because she didn’t want…..” His voice choked, almost as if he was about to break down in tears. He lifted his head and let out an eery round of laughter that sent goosebumps all over Amy’s body. More tears rolled down her eyes as she watched him. She could see the pain in his eyes, feel it in his voice. There was so much bitterness in his words. She couldn’t imagine what he had p@$$ed throu-ghbecause of her. It was all her fault.

“I’m sorry” She cried out, her shoulders trembling as she cried.

“You’re sorry? Tell that to my family I lost in one day. Tell them you’re sorry when you get there and when they push you to hell to burn for your mother’s sin.” He snapped. He took a de-ep breath to calm himself down and continued.

“I’m not sorry if I have to kill you and everyone member of your family today. Because this is what they truly deserve. Ethan might hate me after this–”

“Ethan?” Amy asked in a small voice. What had Ethan got to do with any of this?

He scoffed when he saw the surprised look on Amy’s face. “Yes Ethan, do you think he had suddenly come to tell you about the missing person case? You should have asked yourself why he had suddenly come to tell you about it when he knew for such a long time” He scoffed again.

“Your family is truly dumb and you made everything easy for me. Well, that doesn’t matter anymore, because today I’ll get what I truly want and watch all of you suffer!” He declared angrily before turning away.

“Micheal please don’t, this isn’t you. Micheal–”

“Stop calling me Micheal!! I’m not Micheal!!!.. Your mother killed him and I’m here to take you to him!” He roared lividly.

“What?” Amy thought she had asked out loud but her voice had been inaudible. She wasn’t sure if she had him well.

She looked at him from head to toe, scrutinizing every pa-rt of him but that only confirmed it was him. This was Micheal so what was he saying?

He chuckled out when he saw the way she was looking at him.

He tsked, “I don’t know if I should blame you, but for you not to recognize a guy who had you dated for years is appalling.” He hissed.

“What are you saying?” Amy cried out in frustration. What was he saying to her? Wasn’t he Micheal? If he wasn’t then who the hell was he? And how did he get his face? Amy didn’t un-derstand.

“What I’m saying is I’m not Micheal. Micheal is dead and your mother killed him!” He roared back.

Amy felt like cold water had been poured on her as she stiffened, completely forgetting about the device tied to her wa-ist.

Amy stared at the man in front of her, her eyes were not blinking, her heart didn’t seem like it was beating. She stood transfixed. If not for the platform she was tied to she’d probably have sprawled to the floor by now.

Amy shook her head slowly, her gaze still fixed on the man in front of her, “That’s…. that’s not true”
“That’s not true, you…. you’re lying to me. You’re Michael stop lying to me” Amy said in denial while she kept shaking her head.

He chuckled derisively when she kept denying what he had told her.

“You can deceive yourself all you want. But you’ll confirm my word’s when I send you to your maker and then you’ll see him there looking at you with hatred and disgust burning in his eyes”

“Stop it!” Amy screamed, tears pooling in her eyes. “That’s not true. Micheal isn’t dead. You’re Micheal” She said stubbornly, her voice raised to its peak. She was determined to believe he was Micheal. She couldn’t believe what he was saying. He was lying to her, he had to be.

“Micheal I know you’re angry, you probably hate me but don’t say that. Those words, you can’t say that. You’re not dead. This is you.” She said in a calm voice as she tried to persuade him to say the truth. She didn’t want to believe that he was dead. She couldn’t accept it. Maybe if the person standing before her wasn’t looking exactly like him then she’d have believed him. But then they were looking identical.
Identical?

Amy’s eyes shot up when that word clic-ked in her head. It wasn’t possible.

Amy closed her eyes and shook her head vigorously. ‘No, it wasn’t possible. It can’t be!’ She screamed in her head.

Staring at the man in front of her, a memory flashed into her head, it was eight years ago back in high school. She and Micheal had been sitting un-der an oak tree, they had ditched cl@$$es just to go have fun outside.

“Don’t you have any siblings? You’ve never mentioned them.” She had asked while pla-ying with Micheal’s hair. His hair was silky and soft at the time she had loved pla-ying with it, sometimes she even tried to br-aid it.

“I think I have one” He had truly replied.

“You think?” She co-cked a brow at him. That wasn’t an answer. Nobody thinks about having a sibling. It’s either you do or you don’t.

Twirling the lock of her hair around his finger, he replied, “Well I once saw a picture of a boy who looks like me, it was hidden in my mother box but when I asked she told me to never ask again. So I never did. But the picture is still there and there were times when I saw her crying over it even my dad would look sad and try to comfort her, but I dare not ask before she gets mad. There was a time I heard him say the ‘child is fine’. They don’t want to talk about it so I just let it be. But I can’t stop feeling I might have a twin brother or sister.” He shrugged and sighed sadly.

Amy stared at him, she could see the sadness in his eyes. She could tell he wanted to know but he was helpless about it. Seeing how it made him sad, she never asked again just the same way he didn’t ask his parents about it.

Coming to this realization, Amy looked at the man standing in front of her in utter disbelief.

“You…. you’re… really not Mi…cheal?” Amy asked in a shaky and desperate voice. Almost pleading with him not to say what she didn’t want to hear.

“I think you know the truth already” Amy felt like she died on the sp-ot after she heard that.

Micheal was truly dead?

Her eyes widen in disbelief, her heart stiffened, and a tear rolled down her eyes and another followed.

“He…he really died?” She asked in a small voice, she wasn’t sure if she was asking herself or the man.

He turned towards her, his eyes were red, anger flashing throu-ghthem.

“Yes he died, and he died because of you. He died a very painful death. He was beaten and stabbed to death by one of the inmates in jail. Multiple times he was stabbed and was left to bleed to death in a bathroom. He died alone with no one by his side, and that’s because of you and your mother. There were guards, wardens but they let him suffer, why? Because of your cruel mother! Because of you!
I didn’t see him for 20 years, I prayed and hoped that I would see my brother someday but your family denied me that. My mother who I didn’t even see since I was months old, I’m sure she must have yearned to see me too, wished to hold me, and also my father who I didn’t get to know, you and your cursed family took them all away from me!”
“I’ve never dreamt of hurting anybody but your family had made me this way. You all made me want to set the whole world ablaze because you left me with nothing and no one. His death, their death that’s on you!” He seethed.

Amy could see the pain in his eyes. The tear that had rolled down his cheek, his words were like stabs to her heart. The pain was shooting throu-ghevery of her fibre. She didn’t know that she had been crying so ha-rd. She was crying so much her body was shaking.

‘What has her mother done?’
….

Blake was driving as far as the car could go, his attention was focused on the road even though he had one thousand and one questions to ask. For instance, how Ethan knew where Amy was been held, and how did he know the person who had abducted her? He looked at Ethan from the corner of his eye he had been frantically dialling a number and it made him wonder whose number that was.

Blake tried not to bother himself with all that for now, all that mattered was saving Amy and that was all he was going to do.

“We have to call the cops and the bomb squad” Blake announced.

“No we ca–”Ethan slurred and his eyes wide-ned at the realization of what Blake had just said.

“A bomb? Mason dare put a bomb on Amy?” He asked in horror.

‘Mason?’ Blake furrowed his brows confusedly.

“Mason? Isn’t his name Micheal?” Blake asked in confusion.

“No his name isn’t Micheal. But what the hell is wrong with him? Has he gone mad?” Ethan asked no one in pa-rticular.

“Are you asking me?” Blake asked but Ethan ignored him.

“Drive fas-ter” Ethan ordered.

“What about the cops? We have to call the cops.” Blake told him. They both couldn’t defuse a bomb, they had to call the cops.

“You can’t call the cops, calling the cops will make matters worse. Leave me to him, I can handle him, just keep driving and drive fast” He ordered.
