Charlotte : ー_ー
Why does Brina always aim for the riskiest and tough ones?
In the first event she took one of the riskiest boats.. the Ketch.
And, now.. this Arabian horse! Oh god!
“I miss the fun. And, I miss my Maximus.” Brina said, as she dreamily stared at that Black horse on which Olivia has sat with a slight difficulty.
“Maximus?” Charlotte asked.
“Yeah, my horse. It is just like this horse, beautiful, wonderful and so energetic. It was a friendly pet to me.” Brina said, still in trance of reminiscing those times.
Pet??!!
Charlotte looked at that horse which has now started galloping like a wildfire in rage.
Olivia almost fell down if it wasn’t for her persistence and experience, she would have got herself injured.
Yes, very energetic indeed!!
But, absolutely not friendly!!
“Who are you?” Charlotte asked all in sudden, this time surprising Brina.
And, it is only when Brina un-derstands that she has spilled the beans, showcasing a few of her ‘not so extraordinary’ things of her ‘very normal’ life.
In that daze of reminiscing her happy times with her brother Seth and her nephew Will, she totally forgot that Charlotte was listening to her.
“I mean.. see you!! Sometimes, I feel like even Olivia is nothing in front of you. The way you think, the way you an-alyze these people.. it just seems out of the world sometimes.” Charlotte said.
Brina chuckled.
“I am just a lucky commoner. I guess.” Brina said, making Charlotte roll her eyes.
However, putting an end to their conversation, a scream attra-cted their attention.
It is Kiara.
She was trying to balance on her ‘over energetic’ horse but almost fell down, trying not to collide with Brina and Charlotte who were standing near the bench.
As she is very near to where Brina and Charlotte. Brina is standing on the reflex, and went for the reins and she surprisingly, brou-ght the horse to halt.
Everyone who is near to them froze.
The way Brina acted out on reflex made them speechless. She is no less than the professional mentor here..
To be frank, even Brina is surprised at the quickness in her reflex. It’s been years since she held the reins of a powerful horse..
But where will all that practice go? It is still in her veins and imprinted in her mind.
Kiara breathed out in relief. She looked gratefully at Brina a bit and it faded off as soon as she saw Olivia walking to them.
Kiara gulped and climbed down from the horse.
“Impressive, Lady Brina. I didn’t know that you had this level of practice in horse riding. Impressive.. truly impressive!” the main mentor who just saw everything jogged to them and couldn’t help but praise Brina.
Meanwhile, Olivia gritted her teeth.
It used to be her who used to get all these praises from the main mentor!
But, why is Brina coming into everything, snatching away her attention!
Brina bit her tongue.
She was trying not to get attention but.. guess, she can’t….
She just know that it would impact her some or other how and she would not able to avoid it.
“I just had some vacation training in my childhood.” Brina said, giving a nervous smile.
“Really? However, your actions were no less skilled than a professional.” the main mentor chuckled, giving a questioning gaze.
Brina smiled, running her fingers throu-ghher hair. “It might be because I am good with animals from my childhood. Nothing like what you thought, sir.” she said.
Olivia and her brother rolled their eyes.
However, the more he saw Brina, the more he started to get aro-use d. He couldn’t help his urge to have her..
“Kiara, how come your skills are less than Lady Brina’s? She just had some vacation clas-ses with a mediocre teaching. However, you..” he scoffed, disapprovingly.
And, he suddenly held the reins of the horse, intentionally touching Brina’s soft skin.
Brina immediately withdrew her hand in disgust.
‘I had to disinfect my hand now. Got so contaminated..’ she irritatingly thought.
Meanwhile, Kiara’s face lost all it’s color.
Her parents actually asked her to impress Olivia’s brother Owen.
They want her to marry him. As the Prince is not in her reach, she at least has to marry someone powerful and beneficial.
But..
She has also observed how Owen tried to support Brina. She noticed how his restless hands itched to touch Brina.
“I..” Kiara tried to talk but no words came to her.
“Brother, please don’t get angry. Kiara might have been nervous. Otherwise, she is very skilled and talented.” Olivia said, putting up her false facade. “She is one of my talented friends here.”
And, as soon as Kiara heard it from Olivia, her face started getting back to normal again. She gratefully looked at Olivia, as if she is a Goddess.
….
An hour pas-sed by..
Brina and Charlotte came back to Brina’s suite and Brina changed into her shorts and t-shirt.
“It’s just a waste of time. We didn’t get to do anything but just look at Olivia.” Charlotte impatiently said.
Brina chuckled.
“No. We actually really made a good decision by going there.” Brina said, sitting across Charlotte.
“Huh? How?” Charlotte asked, confused.
How could that be a good decision?
They just sat on the bench, seeing Olivia and others practice.
As Brina’s horse is no racing breed, it is simply a waste.
“Olivia was trying her luck, back there.” Brina told Charlotte.
“What does that mean? I don’t un-derstand, Brina.” Charlotte said, scratching her head.
“From the day I came here, I was observing every Lady from each House. As you said, Phoebe is loyal to Katherine and it is no doubt. Rebecca is also loyal to Olivia. But, it was Kiara who seemed a little bit off.”
“I observed her reluctances in supporting Olivia and following her orders. Kiara was actually not happy with Olivia and I don’t know the exact reason.” Brina explained.
During the masquerade party, Brina saw the foul expression on Kiara’s face when she was discussing things with her family.
The next day, when Brina went to have breakfast, she saw how Kiara was controlling her emotions.
She seems not happy. The same history repeated on boat sailing events as well and this made Brina come to the conclusion that something is not fine between Olivia and Kiara.
“I also remember what you said. The other contestants try to form alliances with heirs of other houses. So, maybe Kiara’s main goal is the same one as well. After the Royal Family, the next powerful Houses are Olivia’s and Katherine’s. However, Katherine’s only brother got married to Phoebe’s elder sister when Prince Ethan’s bride selection happened. So, the only person left is Olivia’s brother, Owen. And, if I am right, Kiara’s house should be forcing her to get close to Owen.” Brina told Charlotte who is dumbfoundedly looking at Brina.
“But Owen is not interested in her. However, what happened down there, changed everything. If you have observed, Owen was disapproving of Kiara but Olivia came to her support and boosted Kiara’s image in front of him.” Brina said.
“So, you are saying that Olivia did all this to get Kiara to support her back?” Charlotte asked.
“Yes, it’s just a simple trick. However, I don’t think it is the main target of Olivia and her brother. It just came lucky to them and they utilised it to their advantage and made Kiara soften a little.” Brina said.
Charlotte nodded her head. She simply didn’t know what else to say. Brina is totally making her awestrucks! She never thought Brina’s observing skills are this outstanding. More importantly, what made her surprised is Brina’s an-alyzing skills. She can right away see past the fake facades of the people. It just doesn’t come with IQ. But also with experience. And, Brina is becoming more mysterious day by day. Her outstanding abilities, skills are always making others speechless. Even in these stressful circu-mstances, Brina still remained calm and composed. It is something so rare to see. She didn’t expect this sudden change in Brina’s mindset. She seems to be getting bolder and more powerful with every pas-sing day.
“So, what do you think of Olivia’s main plan?” Charlotte asked.
“If Olivia is in a hurry to eliminate her competitors, then, their main target is me. But I don’t know what surprise they had planned.” Brina said.
“Not even a single hint? Not even a guess? It will be problematic for you during the second event then.” Charlotte said, worriedly.
“I am clueless.” Brina shrugged her shoulders. But she didn’t seem so worried, instead she is thinking of what to cook
“I don’t believe you.” Charlotte pouted. Brina laughed.
“Okay.. okay.. I have a few hints. But I am still thinking how to turn the tables to my advantage.” she confessed, making Charlotte chuckle.
“You are surely no simple human! What are you?” She asked, making Brina laugh.
“Well, I am a man-eater.” Brina joked and she is about to chase Charlotte but an arm wound around her wai-st, making her stop.
“Baby, you are only allowed to eat me!” Louis pouted, making Brina and Charlotte roll their eyes. And, how is he here? Why does he always appear from thin air?
“What are you girls talking about?” Louis asked, carrying Brina in his arms and making her sit on his lap.
“I was asking Charlotte if there will be a cooking competition as well. Cuz I know that I will be doomed if they are really there” Brina cutely said and buried her face in his ne-ck. In front of him she is just like a little kid who nee-ds pampering. Louis laughed,
“Baby, if that type of competition is there, it is not you who will be doomed but the people who eat it” he teased. Charlotte laughed.
This couple are truly hilarious sometimes. Brina pouted and smacked his che-st, making an angry face. However, her eyes told otherwise.
“Mr. Edward Wright, see you having a wish to sleep on the couch or getting kicked out from my bedroom?” Brina asked, wriggling her eyebrows.
Honestly, she isn’t a bad cook. However, she is not as good as Louis though. She started concentrating on cooking only after Louis came into her life. It’s because she wants to cook for him in the same way that he does that for her.
“I am just kidding, baby. Whoever eats your food, they are really blessed” Louis said, making Brina wiggle her eyebrows again.
“Don’t try to flatter me, Prince Edward. You will be thrown into the dog house even if you try to bu-tter me up more” Brina said, holding her laugh.
“Baby, I am just trying to make you happy. Don’t be harsh on this sweet and cute boyfriend” Louis pouted, making her melt.
“All right…all right. Apology accepted” Brina laughed and pec-ked his li-ps.
“I am gonna bathe now,” Brina suddenly said. She totally forgot that a scoundrel named Owen tou-ched her arm. She doesn’t want her boyfriend to get contaminated by it. “Sure,” Louis said, ki-ssing her cheek. However, Charlotte could see the anger that is raging in Louis’s eyes. And, she right away un-derstood that he is aware of what happened. He is after all having his best shadow team keeping an eye on other ladies.
“So, what have you guys decided?” Charlotte asked.
“Before half of the events get completed, everyone seems to be interested in continuing the few events in Alpha Academy.” Louis said.
“Alpha Academy? Why so?” Charlotte asked.
“I don’t know. All of a sudden my grandmother pas-sed it and most of the houses approved of it, saying that Alpha Academy is good at finding out the real and hidden gem within the ladies. I mean, their Caliber, Diplomat Skills, and Ruling Capacity.” Louis said.
“It does makes sense. In these circu-mstances, the Queen has to be extremely talented in everything. Otherwise, Rebellion will intensify. But, don’t you think Brina will have disadvantage there?” Charlotte asked.
“It’s the Academy of Noble Families and very high standards. As the Governer and Governess of the Academy are very strict in everything, it will surely be very tough for Brina to get a good impression from them.” She added.
“Moreover, they love Olivia there! She was a captain, best student and crown winner in her college years, they absolutely love her there. And, Brina has to be careful there.” Louis said, pursing his li-ps.
He never thought that his grandmother would come up with such a cunning and brilliant idea to boost up Olivia’s influences. As for, Katherine and Brina are not at all known there and don’t have any influence there, it will be very tough for them to compete for first place with Olivia.
And, to his bad luck, he will not be able to use his power there. Even the Kings have to leave all their power, arrogance at the door steps and act like a normal person. The Governor and Governess of the Alpha Academy wields the power in Academy Premises.
Moreover, the Academy comes in ‘no rule’ jone. It means it lies exactly in the middle of the Five Kingdoms, spread in three hundred to four hundred acres, surrounded by forest on the four sides.
So, it doesn’t belong to any Kingdom and all the children from Royal Families, Noble Families will study there.
Only thirty percent of students will be from a normal family background in which ten percent will be from foreign countries.
So, Louis is a no King there..
He will just be an alumni there.
“If a few of the competitions are about to happen in Alpha Academy, Brina must work very very ha-rd. A miracle has to be happen.” Charlotte told.
She suddenly couldn’t help but pity Louis.
They almost thought Brina had to look back after her outstanding performance.. but, this is just cropped up all in the middle.
“Char, don’t tell anything to Brina yet, okay? Let her stay cool and happy like this.. at least for now.” Louis said, his voice sounds grave.
Charlotte couldn’t help but hu-g Louis. “Everything will be fine soon, Louis. Just don’t lose your hope. You are now a moral and happy pillar for Brina. If you get demotivated she will be too.” She said.
“Yeah. I know. That is why I’m acting like this, happy and cheerful. I don’t want her to feel pressure.” he told her.
“And, don’t act too cheerful too. Brina will surely find out.” Charlotte said.
….
During night….
Louis has fallen asleep as soon as they got un-der the blanket. He is so tired that his eyes hooded close in exhaustion.
However, Brina is wide awake in his embr@ce. With her head lying on his che-st and his hand on her head, she felt blissful and peaceful.
Moreover, this peace has also made her think about today’s recent activities more keenly and pin pointedly.
Closing her eyes, she recollected every minute details about everything that has happenened in the arena. She could vaguely sense that Olivia is upto something big which in turn affect her performance in day after tomorrow’s game.
‘What could it be?’ Brina thought, scrunching her eyebrows in de-ep thought. ‘Will it come to me throu-ghsomeone or something? And how could I avoid it when Queen mother Greta herself seems to be helping Olivia?’
And, her thoughts couldn’t help themselves from revolving around that black Arabian horse, which in turn directed her thoughts to her past.
As if something suddenly flashed throu-ghher mind, Brina opened her eyes in realization.
‘Could she be thinking of… no, no.. it can’t be. Olivia will never risk to this extent’ she comforted herself. But in the very next moment, Brina pursed her li-ps.
‘But she will not hesitate if Queen mother is helping her. Moreover, I should also take her maternal family into consideration. If they are really having some ulterior motives like Remus mentioned, I can’t eliminate the possibility that Queen mother Greta is working with Olivia’s grandfather’ Brina thought.
Sli-pping away from her boyfriend’s embr@ce, she escaped into the balcony. She didn’t forget to carry the a bottle of mild beer with her.
‘I possibly can’t tell Louis about my suspicions. It will surely lead to some matters I don’t want to bring up anytime soon’
If possible she would prefer not to bring up about these topics. She doesn’t know how he would react.
‘What should I do?’ Brina thought, almost bi-ting her nails in nervousness.
‘I can’t let Olivia win nor I could stop her from doing it. But if I let her win, things might go out of my hands too and I can’t risk it. Ahhhh… sometimes not using the power in our hands is really frustrating’ Brina thought in exasperation.
Closing her eyes, she cooled herself. ‘Tolerate it for Will, Sab. Olivia is not worth of it, she was never worth of it, not even in the past’
‘For everything, there will be more than a one way, Brina.’ these were her brother’s words. His last words infact…
Brina’s eyes stung with tears. Her brother was chiding her back then for being impulsive…
Brina fished out her mobile and made a call.
After ten minutes, she entered her room back only to see Louis sitting on the bed with foul expression.
Ahh…how can she forgot about her ‘baby’ who is very childish.
He started getting accustomed to this habit of having her beside him when he wakes up. But, these days, she is mostly violating this unspoken rule of her boyfriend’s.
Now, she have to pamper him.
