EPISODE 2
Someone as special and beautiful like Brina would never fall in love easily. He knew that he had to wait patiently and adamantly for her.
But, he has no time to do so. However, he has a perfect idea of how to approach her and speed up the process. After all, she doesn’t have a boyfriend nor is she in a relationship with someone else to worry about.
Coming into a decision, Chris smiled at her, whose face is etched with awkwardness.
“It’s fine Brina. I un-derstand that you nee-d some time and that, it’s a ‘no’ for the ‘time being.’ he emphasized the last two words.
“But it doesn’t mean that I won’t try to make you fall in love with me. I will try my level best and all you have to do is nothing but allow me to come into your life.” he said, cheering up his spirits.
“I promise that I will not for-ce you into anything and I will never bring this matter ever again till you, yourself, start to have feelings for me.” he softly said, his voice brimming with optimism and confidence.
Brina couldn’t do anything but look at him. She is not surprised but the se-nse of approach just took her off guard. And, she didn’t take his words seriously because she is confident that she will never fall for him. She is more than aware that they are not practically compatible.
She alre-ady had a taste of falling in love with someone with whom the relationship hadn’t been compatible and practical. And, she swore not to get into the same mess again.
However, for now, all she could do is nod her head.
“Thanks for un-derstanding Chris. And, if you don’t mind, I nee-d some pri-vate space.” she apologized, while she started taking off his jacket from her shoulders.
“You don’t have to do that you know. I didn’t give my jacket to you thinking that no one should see my woman. I just helped a friend to protect herself from the cold. Keep it with you.” Chris pla-yfully said.
After saying that, he turned around and left. He pursed his li-ps in disappointment and sighed thinking of the long and for-ceful way he has to take in order to make Brina his.
While all this is happening, Brina and Chris weren’t the only people in the premises.
Another man in his middle twenties was there all along, watching the drama that has enfolded in front of him.
He is a handsome man to behold and suave beyond description. He is tall, well-toned frame exuded nobility and his bewitching sculptured face made him look so enchanting and at the same time he has a devilish face like a king of the hell.
“Charming.” he chuckled to himself as he leisurely sipped his clas-sic wine. ‘It’s been years I saw an interesting character like her’ he thought.
His eyes trailed over her not even missing any of her slightest movements.
She is elegant, gracious, and astonishingly beautiful. Not only her appearance but everything of her….
Even he couldn’t un-derstand why his curiosity was piqued by her.
It is not an exaggeration to state the fact that she is the first woman who made him look at her more than once.
Precisely, he couldn’t take his eyes off her.
Furthermore, her unique and straightforward character made him look at her in a special way.
Meanwhile, Brina, who is not yet aware that she fell in the devil’s compelling eyes, continued walking till she reached the bar located on the same floor.
Her eyes swept throu-gh the numerous bottles organized on the wooden rack. She randomly selected a bottle and walked to the open lounge before flumping onto one of the couches.
Opening the bottle, she took a sip and heaved a sigh. She couldn’t help but feel bad for Chris. However, she is not forgetting her se-nse of responsibilities aside and selfishly falling in love with someone.
Prior to this, it is a sad truth that she doesn’t have any feelings for Chris. Since the beginning she never saw him that way. And, above all, she doesn’t want history to repeat itself and plunge her down all again.
“Mind if I join you miss?” A person’s de-ep and husky voice brou-ght her back from her reverie.
He is the same person who was following her movements like a hawk.
And, as soon as Brina turned around, his devilish aura and charisma captivated her. He is so damned s-xy and enticing that she involuntarily nodded her head.
His face… It has some strange charm that captivated her. Dangerously, her mind started letting down its guards….
Meanwhile, he chuckled inside and quietly sat down, taking his own time, but at the same time he was also enjoying the dreamy and struck expression on her face.
But to his distraught, it didn’t last long. Within a few seconds, Brina recovered her composure and averted her eyes from his alluring face.
Leaning comfortably onto the couch, she continued sipping from her bottle as she looked at the stars as if he, the charming star, isn’t prese-nt at all.
Meanwhile, he was a little shocked because she is one of the very few who were not attra-cted to him in a crazy way.
He is even getting disregarded by her! But, surprisingly this didn’t make him angry, but instead, amplified his interest for her.
“Miss, the drink you are drinking now, it is way more powerful and not suitable for women like you with low alcohol tolerance” he, himself, took the initiative.
If his friends were to know this, he will be tea-sed for at least a year.
Brina who was busy thinking got startled at first but later she relaxed. His voice is giving her a strange se-nse of comfort, which she hasn’t experienced for years.
She felt troubled but, ambiguously, it eased her heart and lightened it. She actually felt happy, and she herself is shocked by why!
“Is that so? I don’t know about all these expensive br@nds and their specialties.” she casually said, while placing the drink back onto the table.
Her alcohol tolerance isn’t that good for her to take any risk right now. His words started having some effort on her, inadvertently.
“You can take my drink, miss. I was actually searching for the same bottle you were holding.” He chuckled as he said.
“Unfortunately, that’s the last bottle left on the cruise” he added, his voice electrifying and de-ep.
Brina couldn’t help but gulp. And, miraculously her li-ps curved up, and, all again she didn’t un-derstand why! It’s confusing her tremendously.
It’s been literally years, she smiled genuinely and this person who is sitting across her seems to be the one who could make her feel like herself before.
Cheery, energetic and joyous…
“We can swap the drinks if you don’t mind, Miss.” he asked, grinning. The slight change in her didn’t miss his eyes..
When he saw the breath-taking smile blossoming on her cherry li-ps… he subconsciously felt happy.
Besides it, he couldn’t help but feel like tasting the sweetness of those luscious and delicate li-ps. And this thought has really made him all surprised. He never grinned like this ever before.
What was this woman doing to him? Never in his life did he feel like this. She is the only one who evoked the pas-sion and de-sire in him.
“I would appreciate it, mister.” Brina said as she moved her bottle towards him. She could feel the strong alcohol from her bottle…
She really didn’t want to get drunk and miss visiting her family and orphanage tomorrow.
He smiled and mirrored her actions before taking the bottle in his hands. Truth be told, he didn’t come up looking for this bottle. He came here because he felt an urge to talk to her.
“Where are my manners?” He chuckled as he extended his hand to her for a handshake.
“Louis Cruz.” He introduced himself sipping the wine from the bottle that he just took from Brina. He looked so charming and s-xy that she couldn’t help but get distracted.
Meanwhile, his li-ps reached the other side of the bottles’ rim where her li-ps to-uched it and she obviously missed to notice it.
Brina smiled a little before introducing herself, “Brina Parker”
After that, an awkward silence etched around them and none of them could think of anything to talk about. Both are introverts and laconic.
However, surprisingly, they had a mutual feeling to talk to each other and are keenly interested in knowing each other. However, they couldn’t just comprehend what to talk about or how to start it.
“So, umm…, you came here for the p@rty, Mr. Cruz?” Brina asked, saving each other from awkward silence. They were looking at each other but couldn’t talk! They are smiling at each other but couldn’t proceed further! What could be more awkward than this…
“Ah…yes, actually. But I am not into p@rties so I was just strolling around, exploring the ship.” Louis said, sipping his wine.
Even he hates noisy places and p@rties like these. He actually had to replace his brother today!! Otherwise, he wouldn’t have come here. But it’s okay! If not for this, he wouldn’t have got to meet this amusing and interesting woman here.
“I coincidentally ended up here while you were talking with that blonde haired guy.” Louis added, mentioning Chris. He didn’t want to lie to her.
As soon as Brina heard this, the liveliness in her face disappeared quickly and she pursed her li-ps.
What will he think about her now? Arrogant and strong headed?
This thought made Brina somehow feel strange. It is because she never gives a heck about what others think about her but with this man sitting across her, he made her think differently.
It’s making her more and more restless. She never gave any heck to what others think about her!! So, she really didn’t un-derstand why she is so bothered right now.
However, Louis laughed a little. “You don’t have to worry, miss. I never judge a person just like that. It’s actually alright to reject a person. You can’t just love someone out of compromise… Feelings should be real and it should come right from the heart.” Louis said, making Brina smile in relief.
All the nervousness she was feeling vanished and she gratefully looked at him. “You are quite a poetic mister. And thanks for the advice… I will remember that.” She laughed and her alluring laugh made him feel so enchanted and drawn towards her.
“Am I, miss? No one ever said that I am poetic. In fact, people would say that I am quite bad with words.” he chuckled.
It is because he was never like this. She is the only person with whom he felt to be himself… But not like someone cold and unapproachable.
It hasn’t been an hour that they’ve met and they are alre-ady chatting as if they’ve known each other for years. They bonded up pretty fast.
While they were talking, her phone buzzed.
“Excuse me.” she spoke while unlocking her mobile only to find that it was a message from the PR of her company in which she is working.
“fu-ck you, Tan.” Brina cursed and grimaced as soon as she saw the message.
She is now the personal secretary of her best friend, Tanya. p@rtially, she is happy that she gets to be with her friend but overall, she isn’t fine with this sudden promotion.
It only means that she gets to see Chris more often along with the other people whom she despises the most.
She would rather resign from her job than work surrounded by those arrogant, self-righteous, and good for nothing directors and shareholders.
“Any problem, miss?” Louis asked, seeing her displea-sed face.
“Would you call it a problem when you get a promotion but didn’t want to work in that position… surrounded by the people from whom you always try to escape?” she asked, making him raise his eyebrow.
‘She is quite good with her words. Unlike me…’ Louis thought.
“Yeah….yeah I would actually call it a hu-ge problem.” Louis said, laughing.
“And what would you do if you were in my place?” She asked while looking at him.
“I would rather resign my job than compromise my pride and comfort.” Louis told her.
Brina nodded her head and sighed. “I actually thought the same but I don’t want to abandon my best friend and betray our friendship. She is the only one who stood by me throu-gh thick and thin.” Brina pursued her li-ps.
And, Brina has never shared anything with others… Especially with strangers.
However, his prese-nce gave her a strange se-nse of familiarity and comfort. She felt like she knew him! He felt so close to her….
“Miss, friendship is not something bound within the four walls. You can never simply tell that you are betraying friendship by leaving their side. If your relation is beyond any materialistic urges and selfishness, it never fades even after you leave her side. Moreover, you will be living in the same city and can meet often.” He told her.
Brina looked at him and nodded her head. “That’s right.” She smiled. “But…”
