Chapter 22 & 23.

Xan was done with his bathing routine. He came out, looking freakingly hot and we-t as always.

His biseps and complete abs were bursting out on his white singlet as he moved and his p@n-t fitted his straight long legs.

He went towards vixen’s room and opened the door widely. He met vixen laying arm widespread on the bed, snoring loudly.

He leaned on the door and crossed his feet before grinning.

” Look at the kid who says he wanna play before going to bed. He couldn’t even last a minute in bed” He smi-rked and heaved a tiresome sigh.

He stared at his brother again, this time more daringly as he tilted his head to a side. A sadonic smile crept on his face.

” You messed up my life, vixen. You made me hate every single day i wake up to be alive. But…” He sighed as his eyes dropped.

” I’m ready to forgive you even tho you never did. I never meant to hurt Amy. i still love her and i know you won’t leave her alone for me. I guess I’ll have to start all over again” He laughed to himself.

He leaned away from the door and turned his backs, trotting his hands into his pocket.

” Good night. Don’t wake up having nightmares about spiders” He said and drew the door to a close with a gentle thud.

Vixen immediately snapped his eyes open like flic-kered light and stared at the door that just got banged.

He sighed and turned sideways on the bed, unable to close back his eyes again. He began to rethink all what xan had said.

Meanwhile, Xan began to walk down the corridor. He pa-ssed by Amy’s room and halted to a stop halfway.

He reversed back to her room without turning around. He pulled the door open and walked in.

His fingers found the socket and the light were on. He saw that the maids had really done their works.

Every where inside was sparkling neat, cold and gloomy as it was before she came in.

Sighing, He was about to leave when his eyes sighted a book on the reading table, hovering over a lampshade.

Stepping forward, he slid the book from the table and saw it was a novel diary with a brown though cover.

He stepped out of the room with the book and closed the door heading for the house balcony.

There, he sat on the floor curling his leg around himself before staring at the large book again.

It was a diary meant for Amy, he guessed. He opened the book from the first page and off he went, reading every single word.

Thirty minute later, he was laying flat on the floor staring at the dark sky that were shooting boring light.

With the book resting on his che-st and his arm behind his head.

” Sigh. I had to fli-p past her sad incident because my name was just all over.” He said, ti-ghtening his eyes.

He opened it up and stared back at the sky.

” So amy haven’t seen her mother for years?. Did she run away from home?. I guess it resulted from her loosing her memory as well.” He said and brou-ght up his arm to palm his eyes.

” You caused all this to that little girl, xan. It’s up to you now. It’s up to you to mend her past and make her happy.” He said and picked up the book again.

Luckily, she had written the old address of her former home on the front cover. Mersbug; a small town near the city.

He sat up quickly, squinting his eyes with intimacy.

” I’ll do her a little favor.” He said and closed back the book with determination.

….

MERSBUG TOWN.

A car suddenly stopped in front a large cottage house.

The viewer inside the car checked the address he was sent to on a notepad and reversed back to stare at the house infront of him.

He stepped out of the car with his polished dark shoes touching the dusty ground.

He looked around and adjusted his black suit to feel smart.

He wore his eyegla-ss to hide his identity and began to make way towards the house.

However, inside the house..

Mrs qin had just finished baking some few cookies and was about to plate them when she heard a knock on her door.

She stopped her duo as her ears stood upright to hear the knock on the door.

It was pretty late in the night and she wasn’t expecting any sort of visitor. She merely had visitors anyways.

She opened the curtains and wiped out the raindews from the surface before looking out.

There was a strange particular black car leaning at the front of her balcony.

She squinted her brows with worry as she wondered who owned the car.

She a-ssumed that the person who came as a visitor was someone from a rich background.

Nervousness hooked her stomach and she found herself opening up the door steadily.

She met an elderly man in a dashing black suit as well as a smooth cut on his head.

She gulped down, making herself fully visible to the stranger.

” Hello Mr?.” She said.

The man looked up from his screen and bowed respectfully.

” Good morning, ma’am. I’m sean and i was sent to pick you up.” He said.

” Pick me?. Who?. Who sent you to pick me?” She asked, looking around with anxiousness.

Who knew her anyways. She was just a big loner, an isolated and depressed woman. Who would actually find her here in such a place.

” I’m sorry ma’am but you need to come with me as soon as possible. I have no details to give out. Actually, I’m not here to hurt you so you don’t have to be scared” He said, politely.

” I’m sorry But…”

” Shh_ Shh. This might actually turn out to be the best day of your life so I’d advise you to come with me sooner” he told her.

The woman gave a loud sigh as she stared at sean with so much worry.

She knew this might sound like a risk but she kept having this nerve to go with him.

Afterall, the young man didn’t look like a robber who would attack her on the way and even if he did, her life was not worth sparing.

And yes again…What could he want to give her that will turn her days the best?. She was very curious.

After gathring much courage, she looked up at the man and told him she would go with him.

She closed up her door and left with him afterwards.

….

It was a three hour ride back to the city.

At the road, vixen got a voice message from xan. He quickly ignited his car to a stop and rested his back on the sofa.

Mrs qin eyes bulged as she looked at him worriedly.

” We are here?” She asked.

Vixen turned to look at her and grinned.

” Don’t worry. You are safe with me.” He said.

The woman looked away cursing herself inwardly for following this sort of people.

What if they were un-derground witches who came to steal her just like how they stole her little daughter.

She was in de-eper sh!t if this was one of those people.

A tall figure appeared behind the gla-ss and she found her heart skip.

She found sean sit up on his chair as he drew out the car keys.

He pulled out the door and stopped only before turning to her.

” My boss is here. He will take you to your destination. I’ll be returning over to the mansion” He said and opened the door widely before leaving.

From behind the dark silhouette of the two men, Mrs qin watched them mumble some few words.

They kept talking until sean cascaded out of the dark and began to step away towards the car infront of them.

Xan opened the door and got in, wearing the same color of suit as sean was.

He was looking sharp, deadlier and more stunning than sean.

Mrs qin was absolutely scared to exchange glances with him because of the light of luxury hovering over him.

He was like an angel, coming in to shade but light and hint of dark.

He sat down without exchanging glances with the woman. After a while, he turned to stare at her.

” You are?”

” Mrs qin.” She instantly replied.

He looked away, getting his keys to start the car.

” Do you have a daughter?” He asked again.

” I use to. But…i…i don’t know if she’s alive anymore.” She replied.

” Her name?”

” Her name?. Her name is Alicia.” She said and the xan halted, grinning happily.

” Good. I’m Xan. It’s my duty to respect you as Alicia’s mom” He said.

” Huh?” The woman was confused as she looked at him.

How can a man, whom she almost thought looked like god, respect her.

When infact, she was the one who didn’t desrve to stand next to him. She owned nothing, just her home and herself.

Xan began to drive without putting more drama to the words he said.

It was a few minute drive and xan was already at Amy’s residence.

He flic-kered his car keys and turned to look at her.

” Mind if we go in?” He asked. His words made her che-st start to race widely inside her ears.

What could be inside that house’ she thought. She looked at xan and faked a smile before nodding a yes.

Xan picked her straight towards the front yard in the balcony. There, they were both standing there unmoving as the cold hit their skin badly.

She looked at him, expecting an order before she could do anything.

” Don’t worry. I’ll knock.” He said and proceeded his duo.

He knocked twice and told her to pull the door and get in first.

” Me?”

” Yes” xan nodded.

Mrs qin heaved a sigh as she stepped into the house. She looked around the small livingroom, it was calm and almost unharmed.

Her heart that was racing a while ago immediately subsided.

She had thought that this door would welcome her in with men and guns and knives but to her suprise her instict got her wrong.

The room was completely heavenly, completely harmless. Almost like a child playhouse.

She began to hear a fli-pflop sli-ppers flop it way towards the livingroom. A little girl in a white lace dress appeared in view..

She stopped to stare at Mrs qin who was ru-b-bing her arm in the cold.

Mrs qin stopped ru-b-bing her arms to look closely at her, and Amy returned that speechless gaze.

They stared at eachother for a long momentum until Mrs qin began to step towards her, still putting on the same expression.

” A..Ali…cia?” Mrs qin was startled as she stared at the girl who stood stiff like a short branch watching her.

” Mom?” Amy blinked staring back at her with a bent brows.

” Ali_cia!. Alicia. Oh dear…My daughter.” Mrs qin rushed to her and grabbed her little body, hugging her ti-ght into her arms.

Amy stood fixed at a sp-ot raising her gaze to stare at xan from behind.

He was leaning lazily on the wall, watching their cliché moments of sadness.

Her mom left hold of her body and she was not given enough time to memorise Xan’s face again.

She turned to look at her mom who was grabbing her cheeks.

” Alicia…” her mom called as heavy tears were pouring out of her eyes.

” i still can’t believe you are alive. I’m shocked…I’m totally speechless, Alicia. I can’t believe i was telling everyone that you were dead. Why?. Why did you leave me, Alicia?. Why did you turn me so so miserable, huh?” Her mom shaked her shoulders.

Amy stared at her mother’s we-t eyes and she found tears tricking down her eyes as well, one after another.

” Mom. I’ve missed you.” She said as her breath became heavy and she found it ha-rd to su-ck in some air.

” Where have you been?. Tell me?. Why did you leave home in the first place?. Huh?. Answer me” Mrs qin requested.

Amy quickly cleaned her tears with the back of her hands as she stared up at her mom again.

” I left home because..because i could not recognise myself any longer.”

” What?”

” Everything you said about me, i never believed it. I chose to follow my own heart. I was thinking the best idea was leaving instead of worrying you too much with my problems.” She said as more tears fell off her eyes.

She looked down, sniffing her nose bitterly.

” I’m sorry i acted that way, Mom. I…i never thought it could affect me so much like this. There are so much to explain and be sorry of” She said, cleaning off her tears as they casually fell.

Mrs qin brou-ght her down for a hug again.

” You don’t un-derstand the type of coma you placed me in, dear. You are my only child and you made me think i lost you too. I’m feel extremely Glad to have seen you again.” She said.

She cried so well in her daughter shoulder until there was no longer tears left in her eyes again.

She stooped up and cleaned the ones off Amy’s eyes.

” i Love you, okay?”

” I love you too mom” Amy said gripping her mother’s stomach.

Mrs qin then turned to Xan. she held his palm staring at him dearly.

” I don’t know what to give you, son. You have made me the happiest woman on earth today. You are truly an angel, xan. Thank you extra much.”

” You don’t need to thank me.That’s the least i can do for you both.” He said.

Amy stepped forward as she stared at him and xan exchanged eye contact with her as well.

Mrs qin happily smiled as she watched the silence building up between them and their gazes.

She immediately noticed a new feeling flying around Amy while she stared at xan.

” Do you know him, Alicia?” She broke. Amy turned to look at her mom.

” He is a friend.” She said and returned to look at xan.

She stepped forward and gave him an unexpected hug, startling the young man as well.

” Thank you so much, xan. I can’t express my happiness again after seeing my mom. You really deserve more than a hug.” She said as she we-t his suit with her tears.

He hug-ged her head, sniffing the oily and soapy scent from her hair.

” Seeing you smile and being happy as rewarded me as well. Believe me, No gift is worth it.” He whispered near her ear.

Amy smiled and left hold of him as she stared up at his face.

” Oh well, why don’t he join us for dinner, Alicia. Afterall, he had done so much for us today.” She said.

” Oh no no..I’m cool. There’s no need for a dessert. I really need to go back home now to avoid trouble.” He said turning away.

” It’s only a dinner, xan.” Amy interrupted him making him halt.

He turned to look at her.

” You want me to stay?”

” We both want you to stay” she said.

He turned to look at mrs qin, her happiness could be rated to that of Amy as well.

He turned around in acceptance.

” What could this little fruit be preparing for dinner now?” Xan ru-bbed her head as they all laughed and returned to the kitchen.

AT THE DINNING

At the dinning room, they were all seated on a round table occu-pying the three chairs.

Mrs qin picked up some meal from the big pot and plated them on Xan’s plate.

” This is for the dear son inlaw.” She said staring at xan dearly and Amy covered her li-ps giggling.

Xan palmed his forehead, sighing as he for-ced a laugh not to escape his li-ps.

They all picked their forks and began to eat in silence until mrs qin cleared her throat.

” Where do you live, xan?” Mrs qin began to freely talk to him, unlike some minute ago when she thought he were un-derground witches.

” I live just some minute drive from here.” He replied.

” What about your parents?” He asked.

” They are fine.” He simply replied.

” You look like a fine young man. You must be working in some big kind of places.”

” He’s a Ceo” Amy chipped in getting a glance from xan.

” A Ceo?. Amy how did you make contact with a Ceo?!” Her mom panicked..

” Such a Long story. I’ll explain later” Amy chuckled, squinting her shoulders playfully.

” I’ll be back.” Mrs qin said and left them to be alone together.

Xan picked up a gla-ss of water, sipping throu-ghit before turning to Amy.

” For how long have you been away from your mom, Amy?” Xan asked, picking his meal with a fork.

” Yeah…Up to like, three years or something.” She said.

” Oh geez. That’s pretty long.”

” I ran away from home after i lost my memory and i found myself here.” She sadly bent her face.

Xan picked her chin and raised her face upwards.

” I’m sure you are glad that she’s here, right?.”

” How did you find her?”

” I got the address on your…” He stopped, he didn’t want her to think he read her diary.

” On my what?” She asked.

” I just figured it out on my own” He said and Amy raised her brow, confused on how that was possible.

She returned back at her plate and picked out a cabbage stretching it out to his li-ps.

” Have some cabbage ” she told him. Xan looked up.

” I’m not a lover of vegetables.” He replied, pushing her hand away .

Amy leaned herself up on the table, stretching it to his li-ps

” Come on, try have some. They are really really nice.” She said, stubbornly.

” Amy…”

” Are you saying i can’t cook!” She yelled.

Xan sighed and lazily opened up his li-ps. She stretched it inside and he munched on it, eating it with no interest.

” Let me feed you some, cus i know you won’t eat more than a spoon ” she said leaving her seat.

She stood infront of him and squ-atted to feed her.

He pulled her hand, turned her around and made her seat on his leg- all in one go.

Amy looked at him, completely startled.

” I want you to feed me this way. Its more romantic. ” He told her.

She giggled.

” Such a romantic ceo.” She said and continued with her work.

Xan obliged like a good boy. He ate from her spoon abandoning the one on his plate.

And Amy on the other hand was behaving like a serious mother, making sure her son finishes to the last scratch.

” Would you like me to feed you as well?” Xan asked, looking up at her.

Amy cheeks flushed pink and Xan realised how cute she looked like when she was shy.

Perhaps, he would make her shy all day long. She nodded her head in approval and gave him the plate.

” Good girl.” His voice uttered. He picked up the plate and fed her instead.

She ate with ease, lowering her face from him and fiddling with her thumb.

He intentionally made some particles of the fruit wipe on her lower li-p.

” Hey. You have some drop on your li-p.” He said.

” Huh?.” Amy tou-ched her cheeks and realised he was right.

She tried to pick up some serviette but he grabbed her wrist, stopping her actions.

” I can get it off more easier this way” He said staring de-eper in her eyes.

He ran his eyes over her li-p and gently dragged her chin forward, inching close to her li-p.

Amy patted her li-ps open slightly. Her heart kept hitting her che-st nervously as he inched closer.

With a little skill, his li-ps dragged and su-cked on the right sp-ot and Amy eyes got wide as she stared at him.

He lic-ked the particles on her li-p and traced his li-p upwards and captured her mouth quickly.

Before he could start kis-sing her, Amy pulled quickly his face away.

She stare at the door.

” My mom. She’s coming…quick..” She said and ran back to where she was seating.

Xan looked at her, utterly confused.

” Pretend like you were still eating!” She told him.

Xan grabbed his fork, clueless of what to do next. He found Amy blowing on her meals and acting all good on the drama.

Mrs qin walked in with her usual motherly smile and she turned to xan.

” Xan. Come over. I prepared a room for you to sleep.” She said.

Xan and Amy immediately glanced at eachother before xan looked back at her.

” Sure.” Xan replied and stood up, going away with her.

He thought he would only stay over for dinner but since her mom enjoyed his presence then he had nothing to worry about.

She pulled xan into the guest room and she showed him around even the way to the toilet.

Xan followed the nagging woman around until she was done blabbering.

” You know what to do right?” She asked.

” Mn.” Xan nodded.

” Okay. Good night it’s late already.” She said. He watched her leave the room and close up the door gently, leaving him there.

Xan immediately took off his suit hanging it over the sofa. He took out his wristwatch and threw his shoes to a corner.

He fell flat and arms spread on the bed left with a singlet and a spare p@n-t. He picked his phone and dailed vixen on the phone.

” Um..hello…” He said

” Where the freaking hell are you!. Why did you leave home without informing me!. Huh?. You made me worry hell, i promise not to give a fu-ck if you like, get lost!” Vixen yelled.

Xan sighed, knowing fully well how his younger brother behaved.

” Look dude. I’m not going to return home today.” He spoke more relaxed.

” Oh good, that’s so much better. Where are you spending your night?”

” At..At the…um..Amy…Amylia hotel.” Xan scratched his head.

” Amylia?. I have never heard of…”

” I’ll be back early in the morning. Sweet dreams. Good night bro” Xan said and cut the call instantly.

He sighed, throwing his hands back on the bed. He heard a knock on the door and he sat up, walking towards the door.

” Amy..” He said, opening up the door. She was standing there, hugging a bear.

” Are you asleep?. Did i disturb you?” She asked, looking up at him.

” Uh?. No..no..come in.” He said pulling her in. He closed the door and followed her as they approached the bed.

” You came to spend your night here?” He asked as they climbed up the large bed.

” Just came to wish you a goodnight.” She said, sleeping next to him on the bed while hugging her bear.

Xan surrounded his hands around her and pulled the duvet above them.

He inched closr to her and sighed, pulling her dark hair off her pale face.

” i wish you could come back and stay at my place, Amy.” He said staring at her.

Amy cuddled inside him, before she would die from the cold.

” i had a reason for leaving, xan. I only wanted to see who still loved me by returning back to me.” She said.

” So?” He asked, looking at her daringly.

Amy giggled as her cheeks blus-hed again.

” I love you more, xan. It’s you, i noticed it from the very first day.” she said staring up at him with her big orange eyes.

Xan heaved a sigh of relief.

” Finally. I can breath, finally.” He said.

” I love you.” He whispered, grabbing her big cheeks.

” I love you too, xan” she whispered, smiling widely.

He leaned closer and nudged his head gently as he kis-sed her wholesomely, letting all his emotion rile on her.

His li-p was very affectionate, making sure every kis-s expressed his feelings for her.

The sound of their gentle kis-ses were slowly heard in the silent room and their heart and mind moved in same order and rhythm.

She quickly drew out from him, placing her palm on his che-st.

” Remember i only came to wish you goodnight. I don’t want us to go further.” She said.

” Sure. We have all our living days to enjoy it.” He teased and her cheeks flattered for the third time that night.

” I’m sure you would leave before i wake up tomorrow right?”

” Maybe.” He shrugged.

She sighed and drew the duvet down.

” Good night”

” Yeah, goodnight, love” he said and watched her scrimmage out of bed before running to the door.

She pulled the door open and glanced one more time at him before going out.

….

Amy had left his room and was about to walk up to her room when her mother caught her.

She was sitting in the livingroom.

” Alicia dear. Please come sit, we need to talk” She told her.

Amy obliged and stepped towards her. She arrived at the sofa and sat next to her mom.

” I guess i can see that you are slowly finding a partner for yourself.” She said.

Amy shaked her heads happily.

” That’s absolutely amazing dear. I think you have gotten to that stage part of your life now.” She said ru-b-bing her arms.

Mrs qin sighed as her mood suddenly shifted. She knotted her brows looking at Amy.

” Alicia, Why do i have a feeling that this is the same xan that caused us and the entire family pain years ago?”

” Huh?” Amy blinked instantly.

” That xan boy from highschool. Don’t you remember, or I’m i mistaken?” She asked.

Amy brows bent sadly as she looked away from her mother.

” Is there something you are hiding, Alicia? Please tell me.” Her mom asked, looking worried.

Amy sat up and held her mother’s palm fraily.

” Mom. There’s something you should know before i start this relationship with xan” She said.

” No. I hope it’s not what I’m thinking.” Mrs qin said looking serious and sharp.

” Actually mom, it’s him.”
