Okpaka : I wonder what could be the cause of their fight, and the fight is very serious
Uwa : my Question now is, what are they doing in the forest for the first place
Uchenna : this is not time for question, I think we should go and separate them before they injure themselves
Nnana : No let’s ignore them and continue our journey, it might be tra-p, remember what the priestess told us
Uchenna : (harsh tone) forget about what the priestess said, we are talking about life here, you see small children fighting themselves, not just a fight but a serious fight for that matter, and you are saying we should ignore them and continue our journey, Nnana am really disappointed in you, I thought you have human feeling, but today you prove to me that you are a wicked person
obinna : I think Uchenna is right, we can’t just stand and watch this children injury themselves, let’s do something about them
Nnana : There is nothing we can do than to ignore them, if they like, they should kill themselves, something tells me is a tra…….. (he have not finish his statement, when one of the children who are fighting pick a heavy stick on the ground and hit the other one on his head and blood started gushing out)
1st boy : (crying) my head ooo, my head
2nd boy : This one I did to you is small, try me next time, I will give you everlasting mark
Uchenna : (angry tone) Nnana you see what you have caused, had it been we separated this children on time, the other one wouldn’t have hit that boy the stick, now look at how he’s bleeding from his head, am going there to beat the living hell out from that boy, don’t he know that he’s bigger than the other boy, why will he hit him that big stick
Nnana: (in a concern tone) plea-se Uchenna don’t go, is a tra-p (he said but Uchenna paid delft ear to what he was saying)
Uchenna : (going to where the children is) hey…. you this ugly boy, why did you hit him that big stick, don’t you know you are bigger than him (he said as he went closer to them)
2nd boy : mtchewww……… (he hissed at Uchenna, while the other boy was still on the ground crying, with his head still bleeding)
Nnana: Uchenna plea-se come back, I don’t think they are humans
Obinna : why will you tell him to come back, leave him let him teach that little mannerless boy lesson of his life, look at the way he hissed at him, Uchenna beat that boy
Uchenna : so am talking to you and you are hissing at me right, I can see your parents didn’t train you very well, don’t worry I will do that for them by giving you a proper training (he went closer to the boy to sl@p him, but immediately his hand t©uçhed the boy’s cheek, he vanished instantly with the boy, even the other boy who crying also disappeared)
Nnana & others: ( they all screamed because they didn’t expect that something like that would happen)
Okwe : (sobbing) so Uchenna is gone
Nnana : I warned him but he wouldn’t listen, now look at what he brou-ght upon himself (he sobbe-d and likewise the others, after everything they mourned for Uchenna, and then they continue their journey.

The nine remaining men continue their journey, they walked and walked, until they were getting tired, but they still manage to continue, as they were going, they got to a point and Nnana told them to st©p because he was hearing strange sound.
Nnana : (shouted) st©p!
Obiora : (surprise) what is it, and why did you tell us to st©p?
Nnana : did you people hear that sound?
Obinna: what sound are you talking about
Agu : you don’t know what you are hearing
Uwa : me, I did not hear any soun………. (Before he could finish his statement, an old woman appeared, laughing devilishly, when they saw her, they trembled with fear)
Old woman: hahaha….. Where do you think you are going?
Okwe : (shaking tone) we are going in search of THE RED VULTURE
Old woman: (laughed devilishly) And you think you can survive the journey, you haven’t even started the journey, and one of you is alre-ady dead, you think the journey is easy, is like you don’t value your life, I will advise you to go back, if you love your life
Nnana: sorry we can’t go back because we have come a long way, and we must finish what we started (he said and the others nodded in agreement)
Old woman: fool! And you think is easy to finish what you started? Do you think you can make it alive in this deadly Forest, not alone talk of to get THE RED VULTURE in the hut of the scary old dwarf?
Obiora: I believe we will make it aliv………..
Old woman: shut up, and who told you that you will make it alive, see, if you love your life go back, I said gooooo baaaaack (with that she disappeared, while the men ran away with fear, they ran as their leg could carry them, they got to a point and st©p because they were tired)
Uwa : (breathing heavily) that old woman is something else, indeed this forest is deadly
Okwe : very deadly, are you sure we are going to make it alive in this forest? Because the way am seeing it, I don’t think that we can survive this journey
Obinna : am beginning to get tired of this journey, if I had known I wouldn’t have embark on this journey for the first place
Nnana : (talking to obinna) had it been you didn’t embark on this journey, maybe by now you would have die in the village because of the calamity happening in our land (he said and this got obinna angry)
Obinna : (angry tone) is you that will die of the calamity not me, look at this smelling son of a blind fisherman talking to me anyhow, who the hell do you think you are?
Nnana : Am sorry obinna, I was only joking, I didn’t mean to insult you, plea-se don’t be angry
Obinna: don’t try that kind of joke with me, why will you tell me that I will die in the village of calamity, do you know what you just said
Nnana : but I said am sorry
Obinna : sorry for yourself, what right do you have to talk to me anyhow, is it because they made you leader over us in this search, you feel that you can talk to everyb©dy here anyhow, if not for this journey, what business do I have with a son of a poor blind fisherman
Nnana: obinna, I have told you that am sorry but you refuse to listen, what I will not tolerate is you insulting my father
Obinna : And if I insult your father, what will you do, you smelling Fisher boy
Okwe : obinna is okay nah

Uwa : obinna, you self is okay, he have apologize to you, why are you still insulting him

Afoite : but he have told you that he’s sorry (he said and everywhere bec@m£ quiet, after some mins obinna started again)
Obinna : Ah ah.. what kind of talk is that, telling me that I will die in the village of calamity
Ndubuisi: obinna you self is okay, you are too troublesome
Obinna : is you that is troublesome not me, so I should keep quiet and watch Nnana talk to me anyhow, no oo, I can’t give him that space
Obiora : obinna is okay, Nnana have apologize to you (he said to his twin brother, and after that they all continue their journey)

***DAY FIVE IN THE FOREST***

The men continue their journey in search of THE RED VULTURE, as they were going, they were gisting, they walked and walked until they bec@m£ tired and decided to rest un-der a mango tree which they saw, Ndubuisi was very thirsty, so he brou-ght out his can of water to drink, but the can was empty.
Ndubuisi: Am very thirsty, do any of you still have water with you, plea-se give me before I die of thirsty
Uwa : my water has finished
Ndubuisi: plea-se obinna, is your water still remaining, plea-se give me
obinna : Ah…. my water will not be enough for me, not to talk of to give another person
Uwa: obinna, if your water still remain, you give him nah, can’t you see he’s thirsty
Okpaka : obinna give him water, there is love in sharing
obinna : Ahh….. not in this forest ooo….. everyb©dy is on their own, if I give him water, which one will I drink later
Nnana: you can have my water, although is not much (he handed Ndubuisi his can of water and he drank the water but still he was thirsty)
Ndubuisi : Am still thirsty, the water is not enough for me
obinna : that’s the problem I have with you, you don’t appreciate, you think anyb©dy here can do what Nnana did by giving you the last water he had
Afoite : Don’t mind him, he even see to drink and he’s still complaining
Uwa: is getting dark, where are we going to sleep this night
Nnana : I think we will spend the nigh……… (he have not finish his statement, when all of a sudden they heard a very loud horrible noise, when they turned, they were surprise to see a very giant monster with four red eyes, it has a long leg, and blood was dropping down from it’s mouth, it look very scary and was ma-king a horrible noise, when the men saw this, they were frightened and shaking because the creature was very scary
obiora : (in a shaking tone) Nnana what do we do now, this creature is coming to our direction, and if we don’t act fast, it might kill us all
Okwe : (frightened) I think we should run
Nnana : is too late to run, the monster have seen us, that is why is coming to our direction
Afoite: so what do we do now, because am scared, I don’t want to die, and is coming closer, Nnana do something
Nnana : I think we should stand up and face the tree, and do not look at the monster because it might be very dangerous (immediately all of them stood up and faced the guava tree, the monster was still coming to their direction, as is coming every where was shaking, when it got to where the men are it st©pped, and make a Very Loud noise, this make the men to tremble with fear but still they didn’t turn to look at it, they just faced the tree trembling, as the monster wanted to go, with fear uwa and Okpaka turned back and look at the monster, immediately their eyes met with the monster, they vanished instantly with it, when the others saw Uwa and Okpaka disappeared, they wanted to scream, but with fear they didn’t scream because they thought that monster was still there, after some moment when they are sure that the monster was gone, they screamed and sobbe-d.
obiora : (sobbing) Uwa and Okpaka are gone
Nnana : but I warned everyb©dy not to look at the monster, look at what Uwa and Okpaka have brou-ght upon themselves (he sobbe-d and the others joined him, After everything they left that place to look for where to sleep that night, luckily for them They found a place which they thought will be safe for them to sleep)

Nnana : I think here is safe, let’s sleep here tonight
Okwe : how are you sure here is safe, as far as is still forest, no where is safe
Nnana : but at least let’s past the night here, then tomorrow we continue our journey
Ndubuisi : That one you people are talking is not my problem, my problem now is am very thirst……
Obinna : you Ndubuisi shut up, all the time you are thirsty, we are thinking about our brothers Uwa and Okpaka we just lost, and you are here talking about water
Ndubuisi : why won’t I talk of water, so because we lost Uwa and Okpaka, I should not drink water again, am I the one that killed them, After all they died out of their own carelessness, Ah…. me am very thirsty and I can not sleep without drinking water
Obinna : Eh….. drink water if you see, or better still you drink your urine, see I want to sleep, don’t make noise on my ear (he lie down to sleep)
Ndubuisi : (talking to obinna) when I was talking of water did I call your name? mtchewww…….. trouble some creature like you
obinna : if you talk finish, you lie down and sleep and st©p disturbing someb©dy, Everytime you will be thirsty like a new born baby, and also disturbing everyb©dy here, are you the only one here (he said but Ndubuisi didn’t say anything but only eyed him, because he have always known obinna to be trouble some)
Nnana : plea-se is okay, let’s just sleep and also if we are slee-ping, let’s be vigilant in case of any danger ( few minutes later they all sle-pt off except for Nnana who was still lying down with his eyes opened, not too long, he didn’t know when he sle-pt off. In the middle of the night when all of them were in de-ep sleep, suddenly a little girl appeared holding a Calabash of water, she went to where Ndubuisi was lying and tapped him, when he opened his eyes, he was surprise to see a little girl, with fear he wanted to scream, but the little girl charmed him so that he will not scream.
Little girl : Take this water and drink it, I know you are very thirsty
Ndubuisi : Who are you little girl, and how do you know that am thirsty?
Little girl : I know you are thirsty, or don’t you want water?
Ndubuisi : Not that I don’t want water, but……
little girl : There is no but, just take the water and drink (she handed him the Calabash of water, Ndubuisi being un-der the influence of charm, collected the water and drank it to his satisfaction, when the little girl saw that he have finished the water, she smiled wickedly and disappeared, while Ndubuisi lie down and continue his sleep. As all this was going on, the others were still in a de-ep sleep without knowing what was going on)
The next day morning, Nnana woke up and was surprised that he sle-pt long
Nnana : (surprise) I really sle-pt long, how manage did I sleep off, and the others are still slee-ping, obinna! Agu! you people should stand up, is alre-ady morning (he tapped all of them and they all got up, ap@rt from Ndubuisi who was still lying down without responding)
Agu : (yawning) Ah…. is morning alre-ady
obinna : my friend, cover your mouth if you are yawning
Agu : Did I yawn on your face?
Obinna : just cover your mouth if you are yawning, here is not your father’s house that you will open your smelling mouth and yawn in someb©dy’s face, after all you are not the only one here, better behave yourself (he said but Agu ignored him without saying anything because they are used to him)
Okwe : why is Ndubuisi still slee-ping, don’t he know that is alre-ady morning, or does he want to sleep the whole day?
Nnana : Ndubuisi wake up let’s continue our journey (he tapped Ndubuisi, but he wasn’t responding)
Obinna : (tapping him also) come on stand up Mr man and st©p slee-ping like a pregnant woman (but still Ndubuisi wasn’t responding either)
Obiora : (surprised) what is wrong with Ndubuisi and why is he slee-ping like this, plea-se get up let’s continue our journey, we still have a long way to go (he said tapping him, but still Ndubuisi wasn’t responding or moving, this made their heart to skipped )
Okwe : Are you sure Ndubuisi is okay, this one they are calling him he’s not responding
Nnana : Ndubuisi! Ndubuisi!! Ndubuisi!!! (he called his name, tapping him, but still Ndubuisi wasn’t responding, so they put their ear on his che-st to know what is wrong with him, but to their surprise they find out that he was no longer breathing, and also his heartbeat was no longer beating, and they all screamed)
