Two weeks later,
‘’Lights, c@m£ra, action!’’
Lee holds my hand in his and gently squee-zes it and a smile of fulfilment beams across my face.
‘’Good morning! Welcome to our live stream!’’ I have been receiving a lot of messages on Facebook & Instagram, you all have been wondering why we have been quiet for the last couple of weeks, well my husband and I have some news,’’ Lee and I exchange knowing glances before excitedly say, ‘’We are pregnant!’’
‘’The pregnancy c@m£ throu-gh as a surprise but my husband and I feel so blessed and we are so happy for the addition to the KL family, this is going to be such an exciting journey and we can’t wait to share every step of the pregnancy with you,’’ I say.
‘’Guys, this is the biggest blessing of our entire life, we are grateful that our family is literary growing,’’ Lee adds.
After the announcement, we re-ad the comments and respond to messages before finally ending the video.
So Lee and I talked, we agreed to give our marriage a chance, we are taking things one day at a time. The last one week has been amazing, Lee has been great, we went out the other day and bought some clothes for the day, decorations in the baby’s room are un-derway, I plan on doing a nursery room tour next month.
Rising to my feet, I stretch and yawn loudly, ‘’Babe, I think I will go and take a nap, I feel so tired.’’
‘’And what do you want to eat for lunch?’’
‘’A couple of things,’’ I smile.
‘’There’s nothing I can’t make available for you so give me your list.’’
‘’I want strawberry yogurt and mangos plus some h0t chicken wings, don’t forget the muffins and honey for desert.’’
‘’Your wish is my command wife of mine.’’
‘’Thank you father of my unborn child.’’
He smiles, pu-lling me to him, we stand close to each other and stare into each other’s eyes. It scares me to feel this peaceful when I am around him, I can feel my heart slowly opening up to him but I am scared he will hurt me.
‘’I will never hurt you,’’ He says. He is a mind re-ader, he always knows what’s on my mind before I say it out loud.
‘’Why do you always know what I am thinking.’’
‘’I always know when you are panicking or freaking out.’’
‘’What if this doesn’t work? What if I give you my all and you decide I am not the woman you want to be with?’’
He presses a little k!ssto myl-ips, ‘’I love you,’’ he whispers and that is enough to calm my nerves.
He walks me back to the be-droom and tucks me in, ‘’I am turning off this phone, I want you to rest.’’
‘’Alright babe.’’
He gets my phone but before he turns it off, it rings and he hands it over to me.
‘’Mummy!’’ I answer.
‘’I just finished watching your video about the pregnancy.’’
‘’And you called me to say that you were right?’’
‘’We don’t announce pregnancy my child, there are so many f0rç£s that fight against pregnancy, that video was unnecessary.’’
‘’Mummy, this is a modern world.’’
‘’Learn to keep certain things to yourself, what they don’t know they can’t destroy.’’
‘’I think you are exaggerating mummy, I am vlogger and my audience nee-d to know what’s happening in my life.’’
‘’Kristy! Forget about being a vlogger, make this the last time you post anything about the pregnancy.’’
‘’I have mummy.’’
‘’And I am serious.’’
‘’Okay, can I hang up now? I am tired, I want to rest.’’
‘’You rest, I will come over in the evening.’’
‘’Okay.’’
‘’I love you.’’
‘’I love you too.’’
I hang up and hand the phone back to Lee and he turns it off.
‘’Mummy is being dramatic.’’
‘’She is just looking out for you, I guess.’’
‘’Yes,’’ I yawn again loudly.
‘’Rest.’’
‘’Okay babe.’’
He leans in and lightly k!sses myl-ips before he walks out of the room, my eyes slide close and I sleep. When I wake a few hours later, I am extremely hungry, sitting upright the door opens and Lee walks in.
‘’Finally awake? I have been checking up on you for the last couple of hours.’’
‘’What’s the time?’’
‘’It’s almost 15.’’
‘’Eh! I have been slee-ping for that long? You should have woken me up.’’
‘’I didn’t want to disturb you.’’
‘’I am starving.’’
‘’Food is re-ady.’’
‘’Okay!’’ I get out of be-d.
‘’Close your eyes and put your hands over them, I will lead you out.
‘’What’s happening?’’
‘’Trust me on this will you?’’
‘’Okay.’’
He takes my elbow and leads me out of be-droom walks me out of the house.
‘’You can open them now.’’
When I open my eyes I am amazed with the sight before me. Lee has a set up a mini picnic right behind our house and he has bought everything I asked for a more, there’s also a banquet of my favorite flowers right next to the food.
‘’Thank you! Babe, thank you so much.’’
‘’You are welcome.’’
I sit down and gr-ab the flowers, sniffing them, I take a de-ep breath and inhale the scent, I am feeling pretty special right now.
‘’You like them?’’ He asks.
‘’No.’’
‘’You don’t? He frowns
‘’I don’t like them, I love them.’’
‘’I am glad you do.’’
‘’What should I put on your plate? What do you want to eat first?’’
‘’Put a little bit of everything.’’
‘’Sure.’’

Monday afternoon, a knock sounds on my office door and it swings open then Meira walks in, she is the last person I expected to see in my office. Lee told me he asked her to stay away from us, I wonder what she is doing here.
‘’There’s no one on the desk outside so I decided to let myself in, how are you?’’
‘’I am fine thanks, how can I help you?’’
‘’Won’t you ask me to take a seat?’’
I feign a smile and a secret sigh, ‘’you can take a seat,’’ I point at the empty chair in front of me.
She sits down and puts her bag on my table before she clears her throat and says, ‘’I am sure you are surprised to see me here.’’
‘’If I am being honest then I must say that you are the last person expected to see this afternoon.’’
‘’I won’t take much of your time, I know you are a busy woman.’’
‘’I am all ears, get this done and over with, I have a lot of stuff to work on.’’
‘’I am here to talk about Lee.’’
‘’And what has my husband done?’’
‘’I like that man and I would appreciate it if you left him for me.’’
‘’Excuse me?’’
‘’I am more than certain you don’t love that man, you are using that poor man to be famous, that’s not love, from woman to woman I am here to beg you to re-lease that innocent man, allow me to show him the love he deserves.’’
‘’You must be out of your mind Meira.’’
‘’Name your price.’’
‘’What?’’ I shoot her a questioning look.
‘’I am willing to pay you so you can divorce Lee.’’
Upset I rise to my feet, ‘’Leave my office Meira.’’
‘’You are kicking me out?’’
‘’Yes, make this the last time you come to my office and plea-se stay away from my husband. I love Lee, nothing and no one will come between us, so find your own husband because mine is out of bounds.’’
She stands up too and shoots me an angry look, ‘’I love Lee and I will do whatever it takes to have him by my side, don’t say I didn’t warn you, good day Madam Msizi,’’ and with that she gr-abs and walks out.
After she leaves, I spend a few minutes trying to process what just happened, I must say that I admire her guts though, like who does that. I am still in de-ep in thoughts when my phone rings and startles me, I stare at the screen to see Lee’s name before answering, ‘’Hey baby.’’
‘’Love of my life and mother of my unborn child.’’
My heart melts at his words and a soft smile crosses myl-ips, ‘’husband of mine, how are you?’’
‘’I am fine, how are you doing? How was lunch?’’
‘’I am fine and lunch was amazing.’’
‘’That’s good to know.’’
‘’Meira was here.’’
‘’Meira? What did she want?’’
‘’She c@m£ to ask me to stay away from you.’’
‘’What?’’
‘’She actually offered me some money to divorce you.’’
‘’That woman is out of her mind.’’
‘’Exactly what I said.’’
‘’I am so sorry babe, I will put that woman in her place.’’
‘’plea-se do, I don’t want to start stressing over people like Meira you know the doctor said I should take it easy.’’
‘’Your safety and well-being comes first babe, I will definitely look into this matter, Meira will not bother you again.’’

When I get off the phone with Kristy, I quic-kly leave the office and drive to Meira’s workplace. Upon arrival, I walk past the secretary’s desk and barge into her office, the secretary too walks in behind me.
‘’I am sorry that he walked in like that, he just bypas-sed my office without—.’’
‘It’s okay, I will handle it from here,’’ Meira responds, cutting her off short.
‘’Okay,’’ she says before walking out.
‘’Hey sweetheart!’’ Meira smiles.
‘’What’s the meaning of what you did?’’
‘’What did I do daddy?’’
‘Don’t call me that, I am not your daddy.’’
‘’So why are you upset?’’
‘’Stay away from my wife Meira.’’
‘’But I love you and she doesn’t.’’
‘’Make this the last time you go near my wife Meira and I am not joking.’’
‘’Are you saying you don’t want me as your client?’
‘’I would rather lose you as a client than lose my wife.’’
‘’I will call your boss right now and tell him we can’t work together.’’
‘’I don’t even care anymore, do your worst.’’
‘’Fine, you leave me with no choice but to pu-ll out as a client from your company.’’
‘’I hope you will leave my wife and I alone after this.’’
‘’I would have made your life better Lee but now you leave me with no choice but to ruin it.’’
‘’Fine,’’ I yell before walking out.

‘’She is pregnant and looks very happy with that man, what exactly have you done to separate them?’’ Kenzie’s mother yells.
She seems to be more interested in separating Lee and Kristy than her daughter is.
‘’I am sorry madam but I am still waiting for a perfect opportunity to strike.’’
‘’And when will that be? Didn’t you see how her minions were praising her? I want that girl humiliated and destroyed, If you can’t do the work then maybe we should consider firing you and finding someone else.’’
‘Don’t fire me plea-se, I will work on it.’’
‘’I give you one week just one week to wreck that marriage.’’
‘’Okay.’’
‘’I will be waiting for those results after the seven days el@pses.’’

After she leaves, I sit down and try to find a quic-k way of ruining that pathetic marriage.
LEE
I drive back to the office and when I get there, my boss requests to see me in his office, I alre-ady know what this is about even as I walk into his office, Meira obviously called him to complain about me, I might be fired from this job but I don’t care, I did what was right, I could not continue to watch Meira manipulate me for the sake of the job.
‘’Good afternoon sir.’’
‘’Good afternoon, plea-se take a seat.’’
‘’Thank you.’’
‘’Meira just called me, she said you disrespected her and she is pu-lling out as our client. I would want to make judgment based on what she said, I would like to hear your own side of the story too.’’
I clear my throat before I begin to explain everything that transpired between us.
‘’Okay, I have heard your side of the story, you can leave now.’’
‘’Am I fired?’’
He laughs, ‘’No, get back to work.’’
‘’Thank you.’’
