Zenia’s POV

My bo-dy ached. My hands were bound I was certain that the rope had caused bruises on the skin because it hurt me there too.
My eyes strained in the darkness, trying to look at the blood that was soaking throu-ghmy pa-nt s from the bullet wound.
Why me?
Why would he do this to me?
I looked around. Pitch darkness surrounded me and I felt like I was sl-ipping away to it. I nee-ded to get out of here but I had no idea where I was.
I was in a room. Tied up to a chair. Beaten and had a hole in my leg.
The lights suddenly turned on, blinding me for a moment and two figures made their way towards me.
“Aww, is the little ZenZen giving up on life already?” one asked with a disguised voice and a ‘vendetta mask’ concealing the face. But by the bo-dy structures, I knew they were women.
bu-ttocks and bre-ast s.

A man wouldn’t possessed such things unless he was fully ‘batting for the other team’.
“Who are you and why are you doing this to me? Please let me go, I want to go home!” I cried.
“You are home! You’re now in hell!”
I cried even more.
The two females went over to a corner and began going throu-gha computer while speaking among themselves.
“Why hasn’t it been done as yet!” the other yelled and shut the computer. She matched over to me and grabbe-d me by the back of my ne-ck.
“Listen up! Your sister’s husband was supposed to wire us some money and that hadn’t been done as yet! Are you ready for another bullet in your other leg?” She pulled out a gun.
“Noooo! Please don’t do this!” I couldn’t take another bullet.
“Get Jasmine on the phone now!” the other one yelled.
The one holding the gun, retrieved a cellphone from her pocket and dialed a number. She pressed the ‘loudspeaker’ icon to let me and the other listen in.
Jasmine answered after the first ring.
“Jasmine! Congratulations, you’ve just cost your sister her life!”
“What? How is that possible, I did what you asked for. Three billion dollars had been wired to the account.”
“We haven’t received any payment!”
“Well there must be some kind of mistake. Someone must have wired it into another account without you knowing about it. I’ve got the proof. I’m se-nding a picture.”
Jasmine hung up and the phone chimed shortly after. The two looked at each other with disbelief and left the room.

After an hour of being cold and alone and in pain, someone began undoing the ropes at the back of my hands.
“What? What are you doing? Who are you?” I asked.
“Shhh. They’ll hear you,” she whispered back and tugged at the ropes again in great attempts of freeing me.
Finally, the ropes dropped to the floor and she ran for the door, locked it from the inside, held onto me and help me to my feet.
“I know you’ve been shot but I nee-d you to byp@$$ that pain and focus on your life and the baby’s life. Now, are you ready to run?”
I nodded my head yes. I had no idea how much my bo-dy could of stand but I was definitely willing to find out instead of waiting around for my death.
“Okay. Here we go.” She took the lights off and we hobbled towards a back exit which led down into a basement and out into a place that were laced with many trees.
Where the hell am I and where are we going?
And who’s this woman helping me?
“HEY! STOP RIGHT THERE! DON’T YOU MOVE!” a voice commanded.
“We’ve been sp-otted. Move Zenia! Move!” My rescuer moved fas-ter and I matched her pace as we dodged trees br@nches and jumped over cut-down stems.
“There’s a path just up ahead. There’s a van waiting there for us!” she said as she took the led.
A gunshot echoed behind us and that made me run even fas-ter.
I tripped over a tree root and fell down ha-rd on my left side. “Ouchh!” I yelled as I received addition pain to my already aching bo-dy.
“Get Up!” I was pulled off the ground and I took off running again. My heart raced in my che-st, sweat poured down my forehead, my breath shortened and my feet felt like they were about to give up at any moment.
“I can’t go on anymore. Just let them catch me.” I flopped down on the ground.
I was hungry, thirsty, exhausted and injured. And pregnant.
“Zenia.”
I looked up at the woman who had meant for me to escape. “Madison?”

Anton’s POV

“Escape? What do you mean by escape? How could she have escaped if you two goons were looking at her?
What, did she just vanished into thin air?”
I was furious. I had left them and came home so my father wouldn’t get suspicious and thought something was wrong but now, they called me and reported Zenia had escaped!
“Apa-rt from that, where’s the money Anton?” Maria asked from the other end of the phone.
“Money, what money?” I asked.
“Jasmine wired the money. She se-nt the proof but when I checked my account, there wasn’t anything on it!”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. The money hasn’t been wired.”
“You’re a liar! You better get my money or else I’m going to kill you!”
She hung up and I laughed at her.
Stupid Maria. When would she learn?
I headed outside for my car and sp-otted a woman looking around.
“Can I help you?” I asked her. I had never seen her before but I was certain she was here to see my father.
“Yes. I’m Alice and I’m here to see your father.”
“Do I know you?”
“No, you don’t but I’ve heard so much about you.”
“Sure you did. Come inside then, my father is in his study.”
I led her inside and towards my father’s study. I knocked and ushered her inside, then I headed back outside to my car. I opened the trunk and saw the baby size coffin was still there.
“Oh how I can’t wait to bury EJ’s child alive in this.”
I started my car and drove towards the old abandoned safe house a mile ahead from my home.
__________
“Jasmine is lying! The money hasn’t been transferred to the accounts!” I explained to Maria for the umpteenth time.
“It was Anton! One billion dollars belongs to me and that’s serious money. I want my money.” She made threatening steps towards me with a gun in her right hand.
“Where’s the money Anton?” the other idiot asked.
“You two must be out of your rabbit @$$ minds! Instead of asking me for the money, why haven’t you been after Zenia?”
“We se-nt out Larry after her. We couldn’t keep up.”
“Larry? You se-nt out a retard to get her? Larry can’t even hold onto a pencil between his kind of fin-gers, much less catch someone!” I was steaming mad now.
Larry was the look-out guy and a bit on the disability side. I only let him get on board because the abandoned safe house belonged to his deceased folks.
“I’ve had enough of this!” Maria blurted out.
“Are you pla-ying games with us, Anton?”
” And now that we’ve lost Zenia, we might as well turn ourselves in,” the other one spoke.
“No-one asked for your input here. Stay in your lane!” I warned.
“Anton! Where’s the money?” Maria yelled again and that did it for me.
My hand found my gun and Maria found a bullet throu-ghher arm.
“Disrespect me again and I’ll stick your @$$ in the baby’s coffin instead!” I warned.
“And you!” I turned to my new favorite person on the planet, the person who joined the team when Madison chickened out and disappeared, “Are you ready for sweet revenge?”
“When Evan dumped me, I’ve been waiting to pay him back. Of course I’m ready. Zenia would be taking one for the team.”
“Excellent Jessica. Now, let’s go hunting. We nee-d to find ourselves that pregnant bi-tch.”

Zenia’s POV

It was dark out.
“Get up Zenia!” Madison commanded.
“Why are you even helping me, Madison?” I didn’t trust her. As far as I knew, Madison had been nothing but trouble since the day we first met.
“I’ll explain everything to you later, but we nee-d to move. Come on, get up.” She circled her arm with my ne-ck and held me up.
“How far again, Madison? I think I’m going to p@$$ out.”
“We just have to keep moving. The van is parked up ahead.”
We started on our feet again.
Finally, we arrived in a clearing and we sp-otted where a black Range Rover was parked. Madison help me get in the front p@$$enger’s seat and she got behind the wheel.
~~
“Don’t even turn that key, Madison!” Anton appeared in front of the van.
“Seat belt Zenia,” Madison whispered. I fastened my seat belt very quickly.
“Madison! I don’t want to hurt you but I will if you don’t do what I say!” Anton warned. He aimed his gun at Madison.
“Oh my goodness! Madison, let’s just give up,” I said. I didn’t want to see anymore blood.
“Anton! You’re my brother but if you don’t move out of the way, I swear I’ll run you over!” Madison called back and I almost had a heart attack when she mentioned ‘brother.’
Anton and Madison are siblings?
How?
Anton fired, causing the windshield to shattered. I screamed but Madison started the van and moved swiftly towards Anton.
“Duck!” Madison yelled out and I did exactly that. I heard another shot from Anton’s gun and Madison let out a scream. She didn’t stop the vehicle, she kept going and Anton jumped out of the way, escaping the ‘Run over’.
He began shooting after us but Madison hit the accelerator. I raised my head, turn and noticed that we’ve lost him.
I let out a breath of relief.
“How bad are you hit?” I asked Madison.
“My shoulder. Don’t worry about me, I’ll live.”
“Thanks so much Madison.”
“You nee-d to call home. You nee-d to get EJ and Evan over here right now.”
~~
Madison continued driving. We entered onto a narrow street but with very large buildings. The Range Rover began rocking from side to side.
“What’s that?” I asked with a panic.
“Shit!! We’ve got two flat tires. That bastard must have put bullets throu-ghthem. We’ll have to stop, Zenia.”
Madison managed to stop the van along a phone booth. She gave me some loose change and I carefully got out and headed for the booth. I nee-ded to call Jasmine.
After the forth ring, she answered. “Who’s this?”
“It’s me Jas, Zenia. I really nee-d your guys help. I’m so afraid right now but Madison help me escape. Anton is still after us. Can you please tell the guys to come and take me home?”
“Zen, I’m so happy to hear your voice. EJ, Ethan and Evan are already in England and they’re looking for you. Wait a moment so I can give you a contact number for EJ.”
“Hurry Jasmine!” I looked around the environment and in the streets, afraid that Anton would pop up at anytime.
“Okay. Here’s the number.” Jasmine gave me a number that I can reach EJ on directly. I ended the call and dialed the digits she gave me.
“Pick up EJ, please pick up.” I looked heavenward as the line rang.
“Hello,” his voice answered and a smile instantly appeared on my l-ips. He had came for me.
“EJ, it’s Zenia.”
“Zenia, where are you? Tell me where you are so I can come get you right now!”
“Oxford. At a place called Venice and Sedan. I’m with Madison. She help me escape EJ but we have flat tires. We can’t move.”
“I’m coming right now Zenia but it would take some time to get to you. Stay put and stay out of sight!”
“Okay. And EJ, just in case I don’t get another chance to say this to you again, I want you to know that I love you. I love you so much.” Tears formed in my eyes.
“You’ll get to say it to my face, baby. I’m already in the car with the others and we’re coming. Hang up and hide now.”
I hung up and ran back to Madison. She was attending to her bullet wound.
“I got EJ. He’s already in England and they’re on their way here.”
“Oh thank God.”
“He said we should hide.”
“Yeah. Lets get out of this vehicle.”
Madison opened the door and we looked around for a place to conceal ourselves from being found.
We sp-otted a cute house with a nice old lady sitting by herself on the porch, having a cu-p of tea. I walked up to her entrance.
“Good evening ma’am. Can you let us in please?” I asked.
The old lady’s eyes left from her teacu-p and looked in our direction.
“Who are you?” her soft voice asked.
“My name is Zenia, and this is Madison. There’s someone….” but Madison nudged my shoulder, stopping me.
“You’ll scare her,” she whispered.
“Ma’am, we’re apa-rt of a prayers group called ‘Destined To Live’. We go from neighborhood to neighborhood to greet and spr-ead the word of ‘The Way Of Life’ to our se-nior citizens.”
“Oh jolly, please come in, come in,” she gestured.
Madison pushed in the front gate and we walked up to the porch.
“Lets get indoors and have some more tea.” She took up her teacu-ps, opened her front door and we followed her inside.
“You have a lovely home,” I said.
“Thank you dear but please look out for Patches.”
“Patches?” Madison and I asked in unison.
“Yes, my kitty cat.”
“Oh.”
The kind old lady gave us both a cu-p of tea, sweetened with honey. I drank mine hastily. I was so hungry and exhausted.
“Now, what was it that you do?” she asked once we had settled.
“Actually, we’re not who we said we are. We’re hiding from someone who’s out to hurt us.” Madison showed her the wound on her shoulder and I showed her my leg.
“Oh dear. What bastard would hurt two beautiful young ladies?” she asked, traces of anger and confusion showing on her face.
“There’s someone coming to rescue us but can we please stay here until that person arrives?” Madison asked her.
The front door pushed in. A woman walked in with a slee-ping child in her arms. “Mom, who’s this?” she asked to the old lady.
“Zenia and Madison,” I answered.
“What are you doing in my mother’s house with blood all over you?” she asked, narrowing her eyes at us.
“We’re in desperate nee-d of some help. There’re people after us to hurt us….”
“This isn’t a police station! And you being here can put my mother, me and my child in danger. Get out of here!”
“Ma’am please, our car has flat tires and we don’t know where to go. We’ve called someone to get us but it would take some time.” I was crying.
“I don’t care. You’re practically dirty. Get out before I call the cops.”
Madison and I looked at the old lady but she wasn’t looking back at us. She was fidgeting with her fin-gers with her head bowed.
“Thank you. Good night.” Madison and I walked out the door and out the gate.
_____________
We headed to a park which had a clear view of the street. “How would we know when EJ gets here?”
“I have no idea. I guess they’ll start yelling,” I answered with a laugh, “We should of called the cops.”
“Bad idea. The Mc Calisters control most of them in and around London.”
“How are you and Anton brother and sister?” I asked as I got a kiddy swing in the park.
“His father impregnated my mother. End of story.”
I noticed she didn’t want to talk much about it so I let it go. It didn’t matter to me anyways.
______
After three hours of waiting in the dark, a car pulled up and Anton got out. My heart raced. I tapped Madison on the arm and pointed out to the street.
“Let’s hide. He knows we’re around here because he saw the Range.”
We got off the swings and headed for the taller trees. A flashlight sp-otted me right before I could hide myself.
“Over there Anton!” I heard a female’s voice and saw running figures moving towards us.
Madison and I took off running but they quickly caught up to us. I was pushed onto the ground and Madison was punched in the jaw, se-nding her crashing into a sandbox.
“Get Up!” Anton yelled at me. I remained on the ground.
“I swear I’ll shoot you if you don’t get up right now!”
“Why are you doing this to me, Anton? What have I ever done to you to deserve this?” I asked, trying to seek some pity from him.
“One word. Money,” he answered with a sm-irk and held onto my hair and began dragging me.
I screamed in pain as I felt the tracks being ripped from my actual hair.
But then the p-ulling stopped and Anton was laying down next to me with a figure pounding mercilessly at his face.
“Zenia, are you alright?” Evan’s voice came from behind me.
“EJ, EJ! He had enough!” EJ’s father tried to pull him away from Anton’s face but EJ wasn’t done with him. I watched as he took Anton’s very own gun and beat his face in.
Ethan managed to pull EJ off only when EJ became exhausted of hitting Anton.
