Chapter seven

Alex slowly opened his eyes with his hand on where Cyrus had knocked him out.
When he realized that he was in the dungeon, he just shook his head. He already un-derstood what happened, Cyrus had knocked him out to prevent him from drinking that drink.
He looked around and saw another person lying on the ground unconscious.
He went to the person immediately and he realized that it was Harley.
“Hey new girl!!!”, He called since he didn’t know her name.
“Hmm…”, Harley said as she opened her eyes.
“Are you okay?”, He asked and she nodded.
“Where are we?”
“We are locked up in a dungeon.”, He replied and she just looked around.
“But why?”
“Why are you here? Did you do something?”, He asked and she shook her head.
“I only offered to take the drink and then I just backed out.”, She answered.
“But why would you want to risk your life for lord Cyrus?”
“I don’t know, I just wanted to help him.”, She replied but Alex just smiled.
“What do you think happened to those girls?”, She questioned.
“They must be dead by now, lord Cyrus must have killed them.”, He replied and Harley gasped.
“He is just a heartless being, isn’t he an immortal? What will he loose if he just take the drink? If he is Afraid them he shouldn’t have stopped us.”, She stated and Alex only sighed.
“I’m not surprised that you judged him so quick, yes he is cold sometimes… But he has feelings too, he is human too and it’s not everything that he has to show his emotions.”, He said but that only confused Harley more.
“So what do you mean?”
“Yes he is an immortal but he feels pain too, he gets tortured too. Taking the drink won’t kill him but will make extremely weak and what do you think we happen to the academy, he did what he had to do to protect us.”, He said and Harley just kept mute.
“Sometimes I don’t un-derstand him sometimes but I know that most of the terrible things he does is to protect us and the academy.”, He replied.
“So why are we here? Being locked up when we offered to help?”
“That’s because he wants us to be punished for meddling in his issue, he didn’t want us to risk our life because of him.”, He explained and Harley felt bad that she had judged him so quick.
“What is that mark on his ne-ck? I saw him in great pain the day he wanted to have me killed.”, She said and Alex’s eyes wide-ned.
“He didn’t clear your memory?”, He asked shocked.
“He did but someone recovered it for me.”, She replied.
“Make sure you keep it a secret or I’m afraid I won’t be able to protect you anymore.”, He said and Harley just nodded confused but she didn’t want to ask any question.
“Do you know when we will get out of here? I’m hungry.”, Harley complained ru-b-bing her stomach and alex just smiled.
“I don’t know how long we are going to stay here but I’m sure lord Cyrus instructed them not to give us any food or water.”, Alex replied and Harley frowned sadly.
“Oh God! What do I do? I can’t live without food.”, She complained.
“Then you should have thought twice before you tried to help lord Cyrus.”, He said and she just frowned.

“I just wonder how Harley is doing? I can’t believe lord Cyrus locked her up for trying to save him, he is a monster, I hate him.”, ru-by said.
“She will surely be fine, she is just being locked up from a while.”, Liam replied.
Emily just listened to them and she was scared… Scared about the fact that Alex and Harley were together in the dungeon.
What if Alex start to like Harley? What will become of her?
“Are you okay Emily?”, They asked her noticing that her mind wasn’t in what they were talking about.
“Just mind your business, we aren’t close okay?”, She said as she left.
“A lot of people are getting on my nerves recently.”, ru-by said and hissed.
“You don’t like pretty when you frowned, I like your smiling face.”, Liam said and ru-by blus-hed.
“Really? No one has ever said that to me, thank you.”, She said blus-hing more.
#Next day
Cyrus went to the dungeon.
“Lord Cyrus.”, They both said in unison surprised that he came.
“Do you know your offense now?”, He asked coldly and they both nodded sharply.
“What is your offense Alex?”, He asked.
“I am not suppose to meddle in your business, act irrationally and disobey you when you asked me to stay out of it.”, Alex replied.
“And you?”, He asked referring to Harley.
“I … I wasn’t suppose to meddle also.”, She replied.
“No that’s part but the main reason you are being punished is because I warned you that I don’t want to see your face, I was indirectly telling you to always avoid me.”
“Since the both of you are willing to die so badly, then don’t do it in academy, you can do it elsewhere so that I won’t take responsibility.”, He said and they nodded.
“Release them.”, He ordered the guards and left.

“Lord Magnus you are right, lord Cyrus didn’t kill the new girl like he said.”
“Something is off, maybe she is the new weapon that I will use against him like I used Ariel.”, Magnus said with an evil grin.
“He saved her from getting killed from Ember, he asked his right hand man to train her, he stopped her from taking that poisonous drink we planned and now he didn’t kill her.”
“That still doesn’t prove much, make sure you make him fall in love with her even more than he loved Ariel, then we will use her as his weakness.”, Magnus said and the person nodded.
“I have to get back to the academy before anyone notice that I am absent.”, The person said and disappeared.
“I made a mistake by not getting rid of you that time but I will surely not make the same mistake again.”, Magnus said with a sm-irk.

Chapter eight

“Why are you keeping that lady alive? You know that it won’t do you any good.” One of Cyrus’godmother said.
“Or have you forgotten how he made you plead for mercy because of Ariel?”, The second added.
“Don’t bring Ariel into this.”, Cyrus said and they just sighed.
“Cyrus I know that you have emotions too but you can’t love because that will be your downfall, you will only end up being doomed.”, The last one said.
“I will make sure I don’t fall for her.”, He said.
“If anything goes wrong, it will all be on you.”, They said and he nodded.

#After a week
Harley made sure she stayed on lane and mind her business, her st*pid fantasy was over.
She made sure she stayed away like he said and he made it easier by not acknowledging you her.
Though it hurt for so much but it was best she ends whatever she was feeling.
Alex has been doing a quite good job with Harley, he has been really patient with her during training.
Though she isn’t that good still but she is better compared to how she was before.
ru-by and Liam got very close to each other that Harley started thinking that her presence just disturbs them.
And Emily, she isn’t someone any better, she is rude and unfriendly.
“Hi I’m molly.”, A girl who walked up to Harley introduced herself.
“I’m Harley.”, Harley replied not quite comfortable with her.
It was as if she had some black aura in her, Harley tried reading her mind but it wasn’t that clear.
She surely has someone backing her up, nowadays she has been finding it really ha-rd to read minds and she doesn’t know why.
Well reading minds isn’t her main power, her main power is seeing the future and death. Reading mind is just like for a protection, to know what others are thinking and to protect herself.
She felt that her main power is useless because she doesn’t choose to see the future, the image will just come to her anytime.
“Why aren’t you with your friends today?”, Molly asked and she just shrugged.
“I want to give them their privacy.”, She simply replied.
“Do you like lord Cyrus very much?”, Molly asked.
“What?”
“You see— it is very obvious that you like him very much and I want to make him reciprocate your feelings.”, She offered.
“Really? How would you do that?”, Harley asked curiously.
“You just have to keep appearing in his presence and do things that he likes, stay with him no matter how he pushes you away.”, She answered.
“Why do you want to help me?”
“I’m just devastated with what happened with Ariel, lord Cyrus must be so lonely and sad right now, I don’t want to see him like that.”, She said.
“Who is Ariel?”
“I don’t really know much but from what I heard, she is his ex girlfriend and lord Cyrus loved her so much that he fought his godmothers for her sake. Lord Cyrus was turned to a slave, he was brutally beaten and mocked by everyone just to save Ariel from the demons but it turned out that Ariel was working for the demons, she had only used him.”, Molly explained and Harley gasped.
“She did that to him? She is so cruel.”, Harley said.
“That’s why I want someone that is real like you in his life, I want you to stand by him no matter what.”, Molly said.
“I’m not sure if I can do that, he hates me right now and the only thing I can do is to avoid him.”, She replied.
“I will help you.”, Molly promised.

It was time for another mission.
They were informed that some demons were found in the forest and they were eating humans.
The students went into the Group of twos and they started fighting.
Molly went with Hansley, Liam went with ru-by, Alex with Emily and Ember went with Cyrus.
Molly suddenly disappeared and so Harley was left all alone.
It was her first mission and she is all alone and scared.
She tried fighting some but some were to powerful for her.
“Please help me lord Cyrus, please help me.”, she said in her mind.
Cyrus heard it and wondered why he was hearing it, was it because of the bond?
He quickly left ember and went in search of Harley.
When he finally found her, she was surrounded by many demons who were ready to eat her.
Cyrus stretched his hand and his sword appeared and he started attacking them immediately.
He finally got to where Harley was and he held her wai-st and swung her around, burying her head in his che-st.
Harley’s heart started beating extremely fast, this was the first time she was this close to him. She liked his hand in her wai-st but unfortunately it didn’t stay for long.
Harley saw one demon coming with a sharp knife aiming at Cyrus, she didn’t know what came over her, she just swing him around trying to take the knife.
The same person who had been so scared earlier is the same person who is not afraid if taking a knife for someone.
She just closed her eyes waiting for the sharp pain.
Cyrus quickly used his hand to stop the knife and his hand started bleeding.
Ember attacked the man from behind and he turned into ashes.
“Are … Are you okay? You are ble….”, Harley was still saying when Cyrus interupted her.
“Are you stupid or what? What do you think you were doing in front of me? Do you consider yourself a hero now?”, He yelled and Harley just looked down as tears gathered in her eyes.
“I told you that if you are willing to due so badly, don’t make me responsible. I don’t want to be a-ssociated with a stupid person, you know why you are stupid? … You don’t think things throu-ghtwice.”, He yelled and ember just smi-rked.
All this while, she had been thinking that Harley was the one he created a bond with hut seeing what was happening made her very happy.
“Who do you think you are to save me?”, He asked.
“I — I just wanted …”, She just kept shuttering.
Ember wondered why Cyrus was so mad but she removed the thoughts away, Cyrus was always like this to all his students who fails to listen to instructions.
Harley bit her lower li-p to prevent herself from crying, she had no reason to cry though, she would just humiliate herself in front of Cyrus and ember.
“You are bleeding, we should…”, Harley was still saying as she was about to take Cyrus hand but he pushed her away.
“You should stay away from me, I don’t want to see your face.”, He said and Harley just took some steps back dejectedly.
There was no way, Cyrus would ever give her a chance, all she sees in his eyes is just hatred for her and she hated the fact that hers was the opposite.
“Oh my gosh! Cyrus you are bleeding, I was so scared when you left me.”, Ember said as she hug-ged Cyrus.
“Ember get ….”
He was about to say get away from me but Harley didn’t even wait for him to say one more word, she just ran away in tears.
“What do you think you are doing?”, He asked ember after she finally disengaged herself.
“I was just worried about you, I was scared.”, She replied.
“Don’t hug me again, I am not comfortable or I won’t be so nice to you next time.”, He said and walked away.
“Alex let’s see who gets Cyrus at the end.”, Ember muttered with a sm-irk.
