? Chapter 3 ?

? Charlotte ?

He walked towards me, with his hands shoved into his pocket. The strong aura around him, chocked the living daylight out of me. His ch-est was in sight, as he flaunts it. He looked so much like a model. His dark brown hair was flying in every corner, giving him the movie vibes. He had this sly smile on his face.

My stomach tightened, bile rose to my throat. Why was I being so nervous? It was just, Brian.

“Miss, Charlotte.” He called in a friendly tone. He outstretched his hands for a handshake. I took a long look at his hands. I began to imagine how it would feel to touch his rou-gh, big hands. I was sure it would be all over my own tiny hands.

“Hi.” I talk my hands into his awaiting, outstretched hands. They felt warm.

His eyes scanned my body. I shifted uncomfortably in my position. He didn’t seem to notice how uncomfortable I felt. His eyes moved back to my eyes, and he met me staring at him. His li-ps moved to the side. Pervert!

A part of me was beginning to get irritated by him, already. I haven’t gotten to know him yet, and I’m already hating on him. Well, if he had respected me, then I wouldn’t be developing sudden hatred for him.

“I heard about your marriage disaster.” He air quoted the word, disaster.

My stomach churned just at the mention of my marriage disaster. I thought we were past that chapter for now. I raised my shoulder up, and raise my head up, with pride. I wouldn’t show him that his words were getting to me. “Okay. Do you have an issue with it?”

He chuckled softly, revealing his perfect white teeth. “Absolutely not. I know how ha-rd it is for you, you’ll get over it.” He moved closer to me and picked the strand of my hair that was lying on my face, and tucked it behind my ears. His hands grazed my ne-ck as he pulled the stunt. I shivered from his touch. “I would really need your help, Charlotte.”

“No. You have tons of staffs that would help you out.” I said, dismissing him.

“Only you can do this, not my staff or anybody else.” He said, in a pleading voice. I was starting to wonder what he needed my help for. A celebrity wanting my help? Hell no! He probably have friends, family, domestic staffs and even his body guards to do whatever he wants.

“Look for someone else, Brian Nicholas.”

I attempted to move, but he pulled me back, effortlessly.

“What do you want? People are staring already.” Some girls and boys who were taking turns in seeing him were already staring and taking pictures. I do not want to be all over the internet again. What would their headline be? Popular basketballer, Brian Nicholas, is in an entanglement with businessman daughter, Charlotte Hudson. Or, Brian Nicholas, hanging out with, Charlotte Hudson, whose husband dumped at the alter in the middle of their marriage. The bloggers, press and everyone that got involved in my situation always made it worse for me. I couldn’t imagine myself reading their comments on my marriage disaster video.

“Let’s go talk.”

“I can’t leave with you, I’m here with my friend.” I protested. I used my eyes to find, Zoey, but she was nowhere in sight. I can’t just leave with, Brian. Although, I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like that for a long time.

“Is it Zoey?”

I turned to him sharply, wondering how he knew her name. I knew I was popular, but my bestfriend wasn’t. She always found a way not to get herself involved in anything that would make her go viral. Although she had gone viral ones, but my name was supposedly attached to the news, as her bestfriend. “Yes, her.”

“She’s with a guy, call her and tell her you’re with me.”

I hesitated for a while, but I still grabbed my phone and dialed her number. “Hey. I’ll be leaving with someone. Don’t freak out, it’s Brian Nicholas. I’m for real. Alright, have fun.” I hung up and shoved my phone into my bag. I wore my scarf and sungla-sses back on.

“What you hiding for?” He asked, attempting to take my hands into his. I yanked his hands away and shoved it into my pocket.

“None of your business.” I said and began walking ahead of him. I could feel eyes on me as I walked to the exit door. Duhh, they wouldn’t recognize me no more.

When we reached the exit, Brian held unto my arm and we walked out together. His grip around me was strong that I found it ha-rd to yank his hands away from mine.

As expected, people turned their gaze to us. Some had rushed to pull out their phones from their pocket, while others were already recording. The bouncers walked in front of us, and behind us to avoid the crowd to be all over us. Brian, to be specific.

I exhales de-eply when we got into his car. I relaxed in the seat.

I hated how I hid from everyone. I wasn’t myself. I couldn’t go out without hiding from the world, so I wouldn’t hear any negative thing about me from them. I was used to negative words, but my marriage disaster talks, always found a way to pierce throu-ghme.

I looked at, Brian, going throu-ghhis phone. Just mere staring at him, made me reason why I agreed to follow him without much thinking. I was known for being a tough lady. I thought being too proud of myself made the hate people had for me increase everyday, but, the ma-ssive love I have keeps me sane.

“Where are you taking me to?”

He peeled his eyes off his phone and turned to me. “Somewhere fun.”

“Why?” The whole shit that was happening, wasn’t sitting well with me. I wanted to know why he wanted me to help him out, so badly.

“No much question, Charlotte.” He gave me a smile and faced his phone.

I didn’t know when I feel asleep, but I woke up immediately the car stopped. I squinted my eyes to make out the place we’ve arrived at, but I couldn’t.

The door opened, revealing the bouncer who I had an encounter with. His eyes were pleading, but I didn’t care at that moment. Truthfully, I was becoming scared of the environment I knew nothing of. I held unto my phone tightly, in case anything goes wrong I would be able to call, Zoey or mum.

I stepped out of the car, and my eyes met with the luxurious building. The music from inside the hall could be heard from afar. Disco lights were flashing everywhere, that was when I realized it was almost dark outside. For how long did we stay in the car?

“Where is this place?” I murmured und-er my breath as I stood staring at the building.

“It’s mine, baby girl.” I heard, Brian said beside me. I almost jumped up in fear, but I maintained my cool. “Let’s go in.”

The place wasn’t crowded like I thought it would be. Just few people at the corner were dragging some cigarette, and drinking their as-sout.

Brian pulled me with him upstairs. I saw some stri-pers doing some pole dancing for the guys. I rolled my eyes. We went further upstairs, and into a more luxurious room. Everything in the room screamed wealth. The walls, floor, bed, bedsheet and everything was all in white. The flower gave the room a nice, fresh smell.

I turned to, Brian and met him taking off his shirt. He looked hot more than when he had his clothes covering his s-exy as-sch-est. I swallowed de-eply and peeled my eyes off his hot body. I heard him chuckle, but I ignore him.

“What do you want from me?” I asked in a nonchalant tone. I was starting to get irritated by everything. I found it offensive for him to have me cancel my plans and follow him around. Was he trying to rub his achievements on my face?

“You should take a chill pill, girl. I ain’t hurting you.” He raised his hands above his head in surrender. I rolled my eyes and went to sit on the couch in the room. He walked over to me, and sat beside me. I could feel the heat enacting from his body. “Do you want anything to drink?”

“No.” I replied sharply and folded my arms und-er my bre-ast . “Tell me whatsoever you have to tell me, so I can leave. I still haven’t shopped.”

He shrugged and moved closer to me. “I’ll have that taken care of.”

“I don’t need your help.”

“Why do you have to be so difficult?”

“Because, I’m Charlotte Hudson.”

“That’s fair.”

Silence engulfs us. I checked the time on my phone. 7:45pm. Great, now I won’t have to shop until tomorrow. Way to ruin my plans, Brian.

“So, I have a great plan that would benefit the both of us.”

I raised my head up to take a good at him. Our eyes met. I felt a small spark. Jeez!

“What do you mean?”

He sat up and faced me properly. ” You know, you had a little marriage problems. I also had a breakup two weeks ago with my fiancee.”

My li-ps twisted in disbelief. ” You wanted to get married?”

He nodded in agreement. “She turned out to be cheating.”

I felt sorry for him. I knew what it felt like to be cheated on. Still, I shrugged and acted uninterested. “What does this have to do with me?”

“Great. We have almost the same issue. I know you’re still in love with your ex, and I am too. Why don’t we get together and make them jealous.”

I almost choked on my saliva. What the hell? Date each other? As in, me and Brian having a thing. “That’s so impossible.”

“No feelings attached, Charlotte. I know you want your ex back. I do too. This is just fake dating, to deceive everyone on the internet and our exes. Trust me on this, Charlotte.”

I began to ponder on it. Maybe he was right. Maybe I had to make, Noah jealous. “Why did you pick me? I mean, there are lots of girls who would do it without much stress.”

He smiled, like he had something else on his mind. “We have same thing on common.”

“Okay.”

“Is that a yes?”

“Yeah. Do we have to start now?”

“Alright. Deal?”

“Deal.”

It was all fake, so I was in for it. No feelings attached, just two people going throu-ghsome shits that needs to make their exes jealous.
