? Chapter 8 ?

? Charlotte ?

A part of me really wanted my date with Brian to be eye catching. I wanted people to have what to talk about my fake relationship with, Brian. I couldn’t ignore the fact that the girl, Noah picked at our wedding as his supposed lover, commented on, Brian and I, Instagram post.

I also noticed she had been a fan in my DM for a really long time. I’m definitely winning in this stunt we were pulling.

I dashed into the bathroom to have a quick shower, after I realized, Brian would be over in the next thirty minutes. I tried to turn on the shower, but it was stucked. Ugh, it had never happened. Why does it have to happen when I was about opening a new chapter in my life! Sorry fake chapter.

With all my anger, I pulled it and it came off. The shower turned on immediately. I tried to turn it off, but it never came off. I was left frustrated. After much grumbling, I went und-er the shower and had my bath. I would text our plumber to get the shower fixed by tomorrow. I knew mum would be so mad at me for leaving the shower running, but I couldn’t skip the date because of a broken shower.

After I showered, I went back into my room. I dried my hair and wore some und-erwear. I sat down on my dressing mirror to style my hair and have some make up on.

The continuous water sound in the bathroom was disturbing my peace. Maybe I should call the plumber now. The house would be flooded if I leave without attending to the broken shower.

I called the plumber to hurriedly come over while I quickly dressed up.
The door to my room opened, revealing, Zoey.

Her eyes were puffy and red. Her li-ps had a cut. She also had a black eye. There was just one thing that would have, Zoey look so bad with bruises all over.

I dumped whatever I was doing and ran to help her. Tears began pouring all over her cheeks. I pulled her into a hug and made her cry on my shoulder. I led her to my bed. She squ-eezed herself and rested her head on her knees. I rubbed her back softly as she whimpered.

Let me tell you a little something about, Zoey. Her parents are weird as-speople. They were fu-cking rich, but never spent quality time with their only child. Zoey, was raised by her nanny, who was six feet below the ground. She had always taken the nanny to be her mother until she grew up to be a full grown woman.

When her nanny died, Zoey’s parents brou-ght in a young man to watch over her. He became abusive and would ra-pe her severally whenever her dumbas-sparents were away. Zoey, was living in depression. She had tried so much to poison her food or take overdose, but the guy always came to get rescue.

Zoey and I had reported the incident to her parents, but they turned deaf ears to all she said. They rather listened to the liar than their daughter. My parents had even taken it upon themselves to help, Zoey, but her parents turned violent and threatened to have my parents arrested if they ever tried to interfere in their family business.

I was sure he had a-ssaulted her again. I was boiling inside, but I couldn’t do nothing to help her out. I was just as broken as she was.

“Look here, you’re strong.” I mustered enough courage to finally talk. I never had much say in such situations. I always ended up crying with her.

She sniffled and raised up her teary filled face. “I’m slowly loosing it, Char. I’m loosing my mind slowly.”

Tears filled my eyes at her words. I didn’t realize how broken she was until the broken words left her li-ps.

“You’ll be fine. We should always look on the bright side.”

She bowed her head. Droplets of tears fell from her eyes and they hit my bed, causing the tears to spread in that area. Her tears on my bed, reminded me of pains. Yes, pains starts little by little, and before you know they would spread to every part of you that could slowly lead to depression. The best part of it is, the pains would go away soon, just like the way your tears would dry off.

“I can’t go home.”

“Your parents would know yours here, that’s just like putting my mum in trouble.”

“I don’t f.ucking care. They’re supposed to be protecting me, instead of making me suffer.”

I sighed in defeat. I hated her parents, but getting into trouble with them was what I had been avoiding. They would get mum and I arrested, since dad wasn’t with us anymore. Still, I wanted to protect my bestfriend.

“What about your fiance? You could spend the night at his place.”

“NO.” She replied sharply, stunning me.

I narrowed my eyes at her. “Why? Ain’t you guys getting married soon?”

“Yes, but I don’t want him to see how broken I am. He would leave like every other person. I’m just being careful here.”

“Crap! This is crap! I don’t see Jack, as such person. Come clean to him and see him still standing with you. Even if he wants to leave after hearing your past, he should! Someone who, loves and cherish you despite your past is on his way. Take all negativity aside. Be yourself. Come clean to him.”

She nodded slowly, as she wiped her tears with the back of her palm. “Thank you.” She looked around my room and smir-ked. “Going on a date?”

“Mmhmm.” I smiled back at her. “You can get yourself cleaned up while I dress up. I’ll drop you off at Jack’s.” I patted her back and moved over to the dressing mirror.

I saw her lay down on my bed, throu-ghmy mirror. She was looking in my direction. Her face wasn’t so bright, but she had s little smirk playing on her li-ps.

“Why is this ha-rd to believe?” She said, laying on her sides.

I picked up my mascara before turning to her. “What?”

“The you and Brian’s new love story. It looks unbelievable. From meeting at the mall to his clubhouse, and now in a relationship? It happened too fast.”

I shrugged and began to apply li-pstick on my li-ps. “It doesn’t look like it’s happening too fast. We love each other, so I don’t see why we should be hiding out damn feelings.”

“It ain’t up to two weeks yet, after your marriage disaster. It looks fake to be honest.”

Fake? Why did I not think of the possibility that Zoey, would find it fake! Maybe some people were thinking of that too. Instead of giving up and talk to her about it, I made it clear that we loved each other, despite knowing for b-arely a week. She still was smart. I couldn’t outsmart her. I decided to ignore her.

The plumber came over at almost the same time Brian, came too. Zoey, had to keep him company while I waited on the plumber to fix the shower. He finished fixing it, I paid and he left.

I picked up my purse and made my way to meet, Brian and Zoey, outside. I stopped on my track, when I saw them chatting and laughing. They looked so beautiful. F.uck my imaginations, I was just being angry over nothing in particular. Zoey had a fiance, and Brain, still had feelings for his beloved ex, Gianna.

I brushed them out of my head and took slow, steady steps towards them. They snapped their heads to my direction. I could see the gleam in, Brian’s eye as I approached them.

“Wow.” I heard him mutter.

From the corner of my eyes, I saw, Zoey watching us. I was supposed to be acting.

I winked at, Brian. He noticed what I was doing and rushed to my side. He pulled me into his warm embrace, which I returned back.

He, took me off balance when he planted a ki-ss on my li-ps. I looked at him with confusion written on my face. Great, we were still acting.

“You look so beautiful babe.” He complimented. He took my palm into his, raised it up and made me spin around. I did this with a some, to convince, Zoey that we were not faking it like she thought we were.

“You don’t look bad either.”

“Okay guys, I’m convinced y’all are dating now. Because, this is do beautiful. Gold on, I should take a picture.”

My smile wide-ned. Finally, I got to convince her.

Even though I felt bad about lying to her, I still did anyways. I signed that contract with, Brian, so I won’t fail to do what I signed up for.

We stood together for a picture. Zoey, took some with, Brian as well.

We got into his car and zoomed off.

“So, how was the shower fall?” Brian asked.

I was looking out of the window. His bouncers cars were behind us. I almost forgot he was a celebrity.

I turned my attention to him. “what do you mean?”

He was about to answer, when Zoey, jumped in.

“Don’t you remember, how I got the bruises? We fell off.”

Ohh, I und-erstood. Brian, must have seen her bruises and must have demanded to know how she got it.

“Epic.” I jumped in.

“How come you don’t have any bruises?”

Smart as-sjerk.

“I have some bruises too.”

“Well, I don’t see any.”

“You need some gla-sses then. They ain’t that bad like hers.”

“Okay. I’ll still get to see the bruises later this night anyways.”

I heard, Zoey chuckle in the backseat.

Oh my goodness!

My cheeks was burning from embarra-ssment. I quickly hid my tomato looking face with my hair.

That was enough for one night.
