The doctor injected me with an anaesthesia and in no time, I sle-pt off , then the operation began on my tommy.
The operation was still on going when I pas-sed out and died. I knew I died because I saw myself standing beside my bŠdy on the hospital be-d and watched how the doctors were battling to resuscitate me back to life when they found out I was no longer breathing.
I stood there watching them helplessly when suddenly, a man clothed in black appeared in the theatre and beckoned on me to come forward; like someone un-der a remote control I began to follow the dark creature and we kept walking to an unknown destination throu-gh a very fearful road. I bec@mÂŁ afraid when I couldnât see anybŠdy pas-sed throu-gh the same road, except for the strange fearful noises I was hearing, coming from the two sides of the wi-de but dre-adful road.
âWhere are you taking me to?â I summoned the courage and asked the dark being and he turned and stared into my eyes with a red blood eyes.
âTo the place where you live forever!â He shouted in response.
âNo! plea-se take me back, am tired!â I shouted back at him trying to halt my movement but a strange wind kept pushing me forward as the strange man moved.
âShut up your mouth! You have no choice here anymore. When you were on the other side of the world, you had the choice to live your life aright and chose the best place where only the saints go, but you chose this path instead.
Therefore, you are to spend your life in darkness and pain un-der the torment of the great dragon in the place I am taking you. Do not say a word anymore because we are getting very close to the holy gate, where the RIGHTEOUS ONE will judge your case and officially hand you over to us as food for consumption.â The black being warned me and I lifted up my eyes and saw a beautiful gate ahead of us. The beauty of it is better not describe-d with words because it was beyond description for me, then I remembered how my father used to describe the gate of heaven to us in the church when I was still growing up as a child.
But I just realized that his descriptions were nothing close to the glory I was seeing before me. I suddenly began to remember every thing that my father used to teach us during our morning devotion that when we get to heaven, there would be no darkness because the glory of God shall be the light that will tabernacle the whole place and that there shall be no pain nor sorrowâŚ
âIf this is true, then this black being is about to take me to a different place and not heaven because he just told me a while ago that I will live in darkness and painâŚâ I was still thinking in my mind when we arrived the beautiful gate
âYes, the city does not nee-d the sun or the moon to shine on it, for God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendour into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.
The glory of the nations will be brou-ght into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it,nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lambâs book of life.â A man clothed in white standing at beautiful gate quoted from the book Revelation 21:23-27 in response to the thought of my heart which I saw boldly written on a glittering screen liked gadget for all to see.
A large book which a single person alone cannot carry was opened but my name was not found in the first book and another book was opened; therein was my name and immediately the screen began to reveal everything I had ever done in life.
I saw the innocence in most of my actions from my childhood stage and was proud of many of my actions until the age of eleven when everything turned sour. I saw before my very eyes all my secret escapades with uncle Paul being pla-yed out on the screen, I felt ashamed at the sight of the little me in the very act with Uncle Paul as even the men clothed in white which I believed were angels turned their faces away from seeing our detestable acts. But the greater shame c@mÂŁ when the rest of my dee-per dirty acts were pla-yed out, I couldnât even look at my own acts so I closed my eyes ti-ghtly, guilty stricken and fell on knees.
I wanted to open my mouth and ask for a second chance to right all my wrongs and live a righteous life but *each time I opened my mouth to speak, air filled my mouth and the words I wanted to say fizzled out like a vapour, but was surprised to look up* and behold all the thoughts of my heart were boldly seen written on the screen and on the right hand side, I saw the angels as-signed over my life to minister to me on earth were all standing at a distance, looking and at the left hand side, I saw my as-signed demons who were always there with me when I was alive to instigate my actions against God and anything godly or good. They were the spirits that used to speak into my heart and urge me to do the wrong things instead of the right things.
They looked as if they were re-ady to make war over my life, because they strongly believed that I was alre-ady their captive and should be handed over to them immediately.
I alre-ady knew from the scripture the first angel i saw quoted and from all indication that my final destination was the darkest place in hell but still had an inner conviction that if I asked for a second chance, God will show me mercy. But the puzzle i couldnât unravel was the fact that I couldnât even see God or Jesus to ask for a second chance.
â I donât want to give any excuse for living a wayward life on earth but I wish I could see Jesus to ask for a second chance which I know I donât even deserve
.. If only he will give me a second chance to go back to the world, I will live the rest of my life for him and bring back young girls who have gone astray back to the loving arms of GodâŚâ I was still thinking in my heart when a loud voice thun-dered.
âIâm a God of second chance!
I will show mercy on whom I choose to and compas-sion on whom I will show compas-sion.â The voice spoke with audacity, then continued.
âBisola , I created you for my praise and
glory and my purpose shall stand. Go!
Go back and mend the broken and preserve the unbroken in my name., I am the Lord and my purpose stands. My grace is upon you.â
The voice said and observed the fearful dark creatures howl in anguish as a whirlwind from nowhere blew across me so strongly and swept me off the spŠt where I was kneelingâŚ
â The church mummy continued with her story as Sade got soa-ked in her own tears sitting on the floor in the roomâŚ

Kehinde drove into the parsonage, packed his car at a lot and was walking into the pastorâs house when he heard a feminine voice from behind.
âKehinde Adeoye, Oma Oba â the familiar voice called his full name and he turned around and saw Jumoke his ex-girlfriend, the last lady he d@tÂŁd before receiving Christ. He ended the relationsh!pbecause he felt it wonât be healthy for his new found faith and Jumoke wept bitterly although that week, calling and begging him but his mind was made up.
âJumo is that you?â He asked in surprise seeing the same beautiful Jumoke he used to love and even wanted to marry back then in the university. He remembered being the person that broke her vir-ginity and in a flash everything he shared with her in the past c@mÂŁ flashing throu-gh his mind as he stood back looking at her.
âYeah! Itâs the Jumoke you ditched and didnât even bother to look out forâŚâ She replied, smiling as she approached him.
âOh plea-se Jumo, donât remind me of how wicked I treated youâŚâ He was still talking and like a magnetic f0rç£, they both got clutched in a long pas-sionate hvgâŚ
The hvg between Kehinde and Jumoke lasted for some minutes as she clung ti-ghtly to him with her eyes closed, but Kehinde quic-kly c@mÂŁ back to his consciousness and loosÂŁned the grip.
Just when he had loosÂŁned himself from the hvg, Toyin and another little girl who were doing chase game c@mÂŁ running from the room and collided with Jumoke, Toyin almost feel but Jumoke was fast enough and caught her before she could reach the ground.
âAre you alright sweetheart?â Jumoke asked still holding Toyin and c@rÂŁss!ngher hair gently, and she nodded her head in the positive, then turned around and saw Kehinde standing behind Jumoke with smiles on hisl-ips.
Kehinde who had not seen the face of the little girl Jumoke was holding was busy admiring Jumokeâs kind nature from behind.
He was amazed that she had not changed one bit from the same kindhearted, easy going and respectful Jumoke he d@tÂŁd back then and those were the attributes that endeared her to him those days.
âBother Kehinde!â Toyinâs voice bolted him back from his thoughts.
âToyin baby!â Kehinde said excitedly as Toyin wriggled out of Jumokeâs hands and ran into his wi-de spre-ad arms for a hvg.
Jumoke stood back smiling and watching the both of them as Kehinde lifted Toyin up and held her ti-ghtly to himself. She quic-kly ran her eyes throu-gh his f!ngersto see if he has a wedding ring on but found no ring on him, so she breathed down a sigh of relief and continued with her smiles.
âBother Kehinde I c@mÂŁ with Iya mi o!â Toyin spoke up and he dropped her to hear her speak.
âReally? Where is she?â He asked almost forgetting that Jumoke was standing there.
âShe is in church mummyâs room, I peeped throu-gh the door and saw her crying in big mummyâs roomâŚâ Toyin began to narrate but Kehinde quic-kly interrupted her from speaking further in the presÂŁnce of Jumoke when he s-en-sed that the church mummy was probably having a serious talk with Sade, especially as regards her relationsh!pwith the old man in the village.
â Itâs okay Toyin. Go and wait for me inside, am coming so you can gist me more about that you hear?â He said and bent down, looking into her eyes and saw that the little girl has more gist for him as he saw her eagerness to talk. She nodded her head and began to walk back into the house.
âDonât go anywhere o, sit down on a chair and wait for me, you hear?â Kehinde spoke up from a distance and the little girl nodded her head again before she finally entered the house.
âSo sorry Jumo, I was carried away by the presÂŁnce of my little princess, I didnât even know she was the one you were holding until she called me..â Kehinde was explaining when he finally turned to face her.
He felt happy knowing that the church mummy was having a serious talk with Sade, which could even make her cry. The last time he visited, Sade had no tears anymore in her eyes as he noticed her heart had become very ha-rd ened and made up to continue with Olori.
âShe such a smart girl. Your niece?â Jumoke asked.
âNopeâŚa friendâs daughterâ he replied, beaming with a smile. He heart suddenly got flooded with a kind of joy he couldnât explain from the moment he saw Toyin and heard say that Sade was crying.
âThatâs okay.â Jumoke said with a calm voice.
âSo, what are you doing here?â He asked her.
âI should be asking you that Kenny. Mummy Bisola is my God mother, she was the one that led me to Christ few months after you broke my heart and am here for her sonâs birthday celebr@tion.â She replied laughing ha-rd , then
then twisted her head to a side in a funny way before spitting out her thoughts.
âKenny, so you are not yet married. What have you been waiting for?â She spoke up with the most softest toneâŚ
