” Good afternoon Mummy, are you at home?” He asked Sade’s church mummy over the phone.

“Yes my brother. How are you?” She replied at the other end.

“Am fine mummy but not too fine. Can I come over to the house and have a word or two with you?” He asked carefully.

“Ah! Oya start coming now. Am at home,” she said in a hurry as if Kehinde was alre-ady in a serious trouble.

“Alright mummy, I will be in the house in a jiffy,” he said and picked up his car keys and hurried out of the office. Kehinde bec@m£ very close to the Pastor and his wife ever since the Kolade- Sade incident so much that the Pastor wanted him to join his own parish but he politely refused, stating that he was very committed in his own parish. The Pastor once introduced him to a group of his pastor friends thus,

“Meet my spiritual son, Dr Kenny. He is a son God used to console me after the death of Kolade.” He introduced Kehinde to them during one of his visit to the pastor’s house, so Kehinde bec@m£ very relaxed with the Pastor and his wife and took their home as his second home.

Kehinde arrived the parsonage and shared his struggles with the church mummy, starting from his de-sire to marry Sade to his parents refusal and finally to the Sade’s relationsh!pwith an old man in the village.

“Yeeey!!!” The church mummy screamed on hearing that Sade was in a relationsh!p.

“Sade in a relationsh!pwith an old man in the village? No Wonder I have been having the burden to speak with her, but all these church programs kept ma-king me to forget.” She began to lament.

“But why didn’t you tell me since that this is what she is doing in that village?” The pastor’s wife said and started looking around, trying to locate her phone.

“Mummy, I thought I would be able to speak s-en-se into her but she continued with him still
” He explained and watched her pick her phone up from the single cushion close to her and began to dial a number.

Sade and the Olori were drinking and eating roasted chicken in the h0tel room and getting re-ady for the act when her phone started ringing. She loos£ned herself a bit from Olori’s arm to see who the caller was and her heart skipped on seeing the caller’s I’d.

“Sade mi, kilode?” Olori queried on seeing her reaction, drew closer to her and pu-ll-ed her closer to himself.

“Who is calling my baby?” He asked rhetorically as he ca-ressed her hair. She quic-kly put the phone on silent when the first round of call finished ringing and pushed it aside to concentrate on Olori who was alre-ady ha-rd and was all over her. Her heart began to beat fas-ter as Olori brou-ght his mouth closer to hers for a k!ss, she felt a cramp on her lower abd0m£n down to her pelvic p@rts in the process..

“Ewo brother Kenny, She is not picking her calls
” The church mummy said worriedly searching Kehinde’s eyes for the next action.

“I feel restless in my spirit mummy, I can’t really place my f!nger on what it is but my spirit tells me that Sade is with that man and I won’t
” Kehinde was still talking when she cut in and st©pped him from completing his statement.

“Ah! Brother Kehinde don’t think in that direction yet. You men can be jealous over nothing, maybe she’s not with her phone or probably she might be busy; you know village life is not easy.” She defended Sade and Kehinde smiled sadly,

“I know my instinct don’t lie to me mummy, I know that things always go wrong when I feel this way. Well, maybe we should just say a word of prayer for Sade
” He said suggestively and she agreed immediately.

“Yes! yes, that’s exactly what I wanted to say” the church mummy said and straight away, she began to lead in the prayer.

As Olori brou-ght his mouth close to hers again after the first attempt was st©pped by Sade because of the cramp she felt in her abd0mÂŁn, she pushed him back gently and carefully told him that she was not feeling alright but he wasn’t re-ady to hear stories, he wanted them to go down to action so he bec@mÂŁ a little violent with her and tried to pu-ll off her clothes f0rç£fully.
“Ah! Wait! Let me check something in the bathroom,” she said and stood up to run into the bathroom but she was taken unaware by Olori’s next action. He pu-ll-ed her to the be-d from behind and she fell on her back to the be-d, then he turned around and climbe-d over her b©dy and began to pu-ll down her p@n-ts.

“I’ve been begging you for this thing since but you keep pla.y..pla-ying me around, saying today, tomorrow. Let’s do this thing Sade mi, you will enjoy it o, hehehe
” He said and laughed ridiculously when he saw that Sade was no longer struggling with him over her b©dy.

“I promise you will enjoy it, am a strong man o
” He was still talking when he saw a thick blood stain on Sade’s p@n-t which he had succeeded in pu-lling down.

“Yeeey!!! He screamed and moved back in a haste. Sade saw the shock on his face and sat up properly on the be-d to see what was scaring him away then saw her white p@n-t heavily stained with blood.

” Sade do you want to kill me before my time? You know you are seeing your woman something and you tricked me here to come into you and incur the wrath of the gods of our land. Ah! Sade! Is this how you want to pay me back for everything I’ve been doing for you?” Olori queried, feeling very upset and disappointed as the man in him which had ris£n got shrunk instantly.

“Olori, it’s not what you are thinking plea-se. I have alre-ady seen my period for this month and am not even expecting to see it again this month. I’m surprised seeing this too, Olori mi don’t be annoyed plea-se. Ewo, I was re-ady to do it o, didn’t you see I was not struggling with you?” Sade explained carefully, trying to appease the angry Olori who was not re-ady to look at her nor the blood stained p@n-t the second time.

“Ermm
See I have to leave this place immediately, you know the tradition of our land forbids a man seeing or having bodily contact with a woman in her sacred period. We can keep your explanations for now, let me go and wash my eyes off the sight of a woman’s sacred blood which I have seen.” He said as he wore his shoe and hurried out of the h0tel room leaving Sade alone.

Sade stood up and entered the bathroom to check herself very well maybe she would find a wound somewhere but couldn’t find any cut on her b©dy.

She was very sure she saw her period about two weeks back and had never experienced it twice all her life.

She hurriedly pu-ll-ed down her cloths and wra-pped up the stained p@n-t in her bag and rushed back home to avoid being messed up.
She arrived home and washed her b©dy, fixed in a sanitary pad and waited for the outcome of the sudden menstrual flow but no blood c@m£ out again till night fall. She brou-ght out the pad in the night when she wanted to take her night bath and was shocked to the bone to find out that even a line of blood did not drop on the pad.
Sade stood in their local bathroom made with palm fronts lost in thoughts as she couldn’t un-derstand the strange flow of blood from her b©dy just when she and Olori were about having a fling..

“Iya mi! Iya mi!, ” Toyin called from outside,

“Your phone is ringing o!” She informed her mother with the phone in her hand. On hearing that her phone was ringing, Sade remembered that she had missed the church mummy’s calls and was yet to return the calls.

“Toyin, if you pick that call I will kill you this night. Keep it on the be-d, am coming.” She threatened her daughter. She had warned Toyin never to t©uçh her phone or answer her calls since the last time she informed Kehinde that Olori bought her a new phone. She hurried her bath and rushed back into the room to answer her calls. It was Kehinde that was calling, so she hissed and dropped the phone.

“This brother should st©p disturbing me na, let him leave me to live my life. After all, am matured enough to enter relationsh!pwith whoever I want and do whatever I like with the person. Kehinde should go and marry and leave me to live my own life the way I want o” she murmured angrily as she creamed her b©dy. She planned calling the church mummy back after wearing her clothes but later forgot and called Olori instead.

“It’s alright I have forgiven you. Maybe we can arrange for another meeting in few days time. But for now, let’s wait and see if the blood will come out again.

I don’t want to die yet o, I want to live longer to enjoy you oo.” Olori replied jokingly after Sade had explained and apologized over what happened at the h0tel room. Both of them laughed at the last words of Olori then Sade felt that someone was eavesdropping at their conversation, she turned around and saw Toyin sitting behind her listening to everything she and Olori were discussing. Her heart jumped into her mouth immediately and she forgot she was speaking with someone on the phone.

“Toyin!!!” Sade screamed

What are you doing there looking at me that way?” Sade asked, ended the call and walked up to her.

“Nothing” Toyin replied fearfully.

“Nothing? So what and what did you hear when I was talking on phone,” Sade interrogated her to be sure she didn’t hear everything that he discussed with Olori. She knew that Toyin was very fond of Kehinde and she wouldn’t be able to keep her mouth shut from giving him account of everything that goes on in the house and in the village.

“No..thing” she stammered in response and held the helm of her clothes in fear.

“But you know who I was talking with abi?” Sade asked again looking into her eyes.

“Yes..no no!” Toyin replied in denial bending her head side way.

“Liar! Tell me the person before I sound your face” Sade threatened her but Toyin maintained that she didn’t know the person.

“Oya go and sleep!” Sade ordered and pushed her towards the be-d.
