(Lose To Gain)

★The Fighting Ground★

Pearl’s eyes dazzled with tears as she watched Adonis’s dust disperse into the air, marking his departure from the world.

She still couldn’t believe that his once beautiful body was reduced to nothing more than a shimmering dust to be witnessed. The weight of her grief pressed heavily upon her, threatening to consume her entirely.

As she sat there, lost in her sorrow, a rolled paper on the floor caught her attention amidst the tears. She picked it up slowly, her trembling hands unfolding it with caution.

To her surprise, it was a painting, a depiction of herself standing in a meadow, adorned in a beautiful gown, surrounded by vibrant flowers and fluttering butterflies.

Pearl looked closer and noticed that atop the majestic painting was a heartfelt inscription: “My Favorite Painting.” The words brought a faint smile to her tear-streaked face, a reminder of the memories she had shared with Adonis.

As the tears continued to flow, the weight of her heartache became unbearable. It was at this moment that a hand reached out to her. Raising her face up, she saw Draco’s.

Pearl placed her hand on his and he pulled her up slowly. He gently tucked away the strands of her shattered hair,

Touching her tears, Draco released a weak smile, his own sorrow evident in his eyes.

“It’s okay” he reassured her softly and she quickly hugged him. “He doesn’t want you to cry. So grant his last wish.”

“I didn’t want him to die” Pearl cried out loudly, her voice filled with anguish. “I don’t want anyone to die.”

“I know you don’t” Draco mumbled, his hand gently patting her hair as if to soothe her broken spirit.

In the midst of their shared grief, Vince, who had been lying unconscious, finally stirred awake. His eyes furrowed his brows as he beheld the scene before him.

Harnessing the power of Raven’s blood, Vince manipulated the Blood moon overhead, causing its crimson glow to intensify. A searing pain shot through Draco’s body, forcing him to his knees.

“Ahhh!” He groaned with his hand clutching his chest in agony.

“Dra!” Pearl’s voice trembled with fear as she quickly lowered herself to his level, her heart pounding in her chest.

The once familiar Draco was no longer himself, his body now marred by pulsating red veins, a manifestation of the torment consuming him. The struggle he faced became increasingly unbearable and worse.

“Vince!” Pearl growled and swiftly turned with blazing blue eyes and an angry face.

Forming a big blue fireball, she threw it at him.

The force of the magic went in at an unavoidable speed, but instead of hitting the target, someone else took the hit and that person turned out to be Daira.

She went down instantly and spat out a large amount of blood. Vince eyes widened while Pearl smirked.

Enraged by the interruption, she seized Daira in mid-air while keeping Vince trapped.

With a malicious grin, Pearl began to use her magic to tear Daira’s body apart, her legs, hands, and head were being forcefully pulled in different directions.

“Argghhh!” Daira’s agonized screams echoed through the air, the pain of the torture was unbearable.

Closing her eyes for a moment, Pearl unleashed another surge of power, and Daira’s body was torn apart, blood spraying in every direction, even splattering Pearl herself.

The gruesome sight jolted something inside Vince, a surge of rage. Breaking free from the lock spell, he dashed towards Pearl, fueled by anger.

Pearl summoned the power of the wind immediately and sent Vince flying miles away. Undeterred, Vince refused to give up and got up.

Meanwhile, the Terrors appeared instantly, joining the brutal battle, adding chaos to the already chaotic scene.

Draco watched the fight weakly and decided that it’s time to put an end to everything.

Summoning his last strength, Draco succumbed to the darkness within him, transforming into a monstrous being.

He grew in size, his hair darkening and his nails elongating. His fangs became even more menacing, and his red eyes gleamed with a malevolent light that spelled certain death.

“No, no, he can’t become Dracula” Vince growled as he saw Draco’s horrifying transformation.

Abandoning Pearl and the others, Vince focused his attention on Draco, determined to stop him. But this time, Draco was the one delivering bone-crushing blows and relentless attacks.

After giving him enough of his fist, Draco sent him sprawling to the ground, blood filling Vince’s mouth. He grimaced, gritting his teeth as he clenched his fists in anger.

“I won’t let you defeat me. I’ll make sure you die today, you bastard” Vince muttered, his eyes burning with fury as he regained his footing.

Before he could make a move, Draco caged him and Pearl made millions of pins appear, releasing them to rain on him.

“Argghhh!” Vince groaned loudly as the pins were sent into his body.

Draco raised his hand up, revealing his long sharp nails and his eyes widened.

“N…”

His “No” was cut off as Draco sliced him into multiple pieces and he burned to ashes instantly.

The dust settled, revealing the aftermath of the intense battle. Everyone returned to their calm state and sighed.

Draco released a deep breath and fell down unconscious. Pearl and the others rushed to him.

“We need to take him back” Blaze said and they left hurriedly.

★Draco’s Suite★

It was already nightfall, and Draco’s condition had worsened. The red veins had spread throughout his body, leaving no space untouched.

Pearl and the Terrors are anxiously watching over him, trying everything within their power to bring him back.

Raven is the one beside him on the bed and she’s using her spells on him. Despite her best efforts, nothing seemed to be working.

With a weary expression, she left the bed and walked over to the others. She looked at Pearl and shook her head slowly, signaling the lack of progress.

Pearl understood the sign and swallowed hard. Walking over to the massive bed, she sat beside Draco and held his hand.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she spoke in a trembling voice, “Are you really going to leave me? We promised to be together forever, why are you breaking our promise now? You don’t want to see me hurting, but now you’re the one making me cry.”

Desperation filled Pearl’s voice as she pleaded, “Dra, wake up! Wake up! Wake up!” She cried out, hitting him in her anguish.

Kira rushed and held her hand, but she struggled to set it free.

“Is okay!” she consoled.

“No, it’s not. It won’t be okay until he wakes up,” Pearl replied, her words choked with tears. Feeling helpless, she added, “Maybe he needs blood. He can have mine.”

“That won’t work. His condition is beyond that” Raven interjected.

“Then what does he need? Should I just watch him die?” Pearl shouted desperately.

Raven hesitated and Pearl noticed the unease in her eyes and approached her. Locking her gaze with Raven’s, Pearl asked “You were the one who told me that day to save him. So, is there something else you’re not telling me?”

Raven took a deep breath and finally confessed, “You can save him, but it would require something else in return”.

“And what damn thing is that?” Pearl demanded, her voice trembling.

“Your life!” Raven’s words hung heavy in the air, causing Pearl to step back in shock.

“My life???” Pearl repeated, her voice barely a whisper, and Raven nodded solemnly.

Pearl began to laugh, a manic sound filled with a mix of disbelief and sorrow. If this was all some cruel dream, she wished desperately to wake up now.

“So, that’s the meaning of this twisted game” she muttered, laughing as tears streamed down her face. “I have to die to save him.”

“You don’t have to do it. Let’s find another way” Dylan spoke up.

Pearl shook her head resolutely. “I’ll do it” she said firmly, raising her head with a fierce determination in her eyes.

She walked back to the bed and smiled sadly at the unconscious Draco. Seeing him so vulnerable is weakening her badly and that’s why she must save him at all cost.

“Don’t you dare stop smiling when am gone or that would mean my sacrifice was for nothing” she ordered, rubbing his thick eyebrows with her thumb.

“I love you so don’t blame yourself for anything that happens” she whispered in ear and kissed his lips for the last time.

Pearl stood up and turned back her gaze towards Raven, signifying she’s ready.

The others sighed, they know the very worst of Draco is yet to come if she dies, but they also wanted him to be saved.

★Mystic Realm★
(Cave of Reflection)

Pearl stood beside Raven as they stared at the entrance of the cave. Darkness loomed from it’s outside.

“It’s not too late to turn back” Raven said, turning her gaze to Pearl.

“Then should I just sit and watch him die?” Pearl asked, her tone filled with coldness.

Raven sighed, acknowledging that there was no way she would turn back now.

Pearl started walking towards the cave but paused to deliver one last message.

“Make sure he’s always protected” she said, her words accompanied by a sideways glance, and then she entered the cave.

The cave isn’t dark inside, it’s glittering with reflective crystals everywhere, which gave it its name. The crystals sparkled and shimmered, casting a mesmerizing glow throughout the space.

Pearl looked down and noticed her appearance had changed. She stood in awe as she gazed upon her reflection. She now resembled the figure she had seen countless times in her dreams—a vision of ethereal beauty.

Adorned with a crown of delicate flowers and dressed in a long, dazzling gown that flowed gracefully around her feet, she looks like a goddess.

Pearl followed a straight path adorned with white roses that lay delicately on the ground. With each step she took, the white roses transformed into vibrant red roses, as if responding to her presence. She continued her journey without looking back.

Suddenly, she stopped when she noticed the crystals were displaying vivid images. Memories from her past began to emerge, each one more poignant than the last.

She saw herself as a child, laughing and playing with her parents and sister. The memories tugged at her heart, but it was the recollection of Draco’s that stirred a mixture of grief and joy within her.

A sad smile played on her lips as tears welled in her eyes. She turned her gaze away to continue walking.

Advancing further into the depths of the cave, Pearl finally arrived at a sacred space adorned with a big magnificent, glowing lotus flower. Its petals emanated a soft, otherworldly light, beckoning her closer.

She hesitated for a moment, her heart pounding with a mix of anticipation and trepidation.

Looking up, Pearl noticed the Blood Moon looming in the night sky through an opening above. She released a deep breath, realizing that this was it. With a feeling of fear, she lay down slowly on the lotus flower, feeling its coldness under her.

Raven had already told her that the flower knows who she wanted to save cause it connected to her heart.

As the moon’s reflection centered upon her, a surge of pain unlike anything she had ever experienced coursed through her body.

“Argghhhh!!!”

Agonizing screams escaped her lips as her powers were forcefully drained, along with her life force. In that moment, the lotus flower beneath her transformed into a dark shade of red, mirroring her torment.

Tears streamed down Pearl’s face as the intensity of the pain became unbearable. Her screams echoed within the cave, intertwining with the memories of her past.

Amidst the anguish, thoughts of Draco resurfaced, bringing a bittersweet smile to her lips. With the last remnants of her strength, she closed her eyes, a single tear falling as she released her final breath.

★Draco’s Suite★

Feeling strengthened once more, Draco slowly opened his eyes, taking in his surroundings with a sense of confusion.

To his surprise, the red veins that had plagued him were completely gone, and the excruciating pain that had haunted him had vanished.

As he sat up, the Terrors surrounded him immediately, their worried expressions changing to a happier one.

“You really scared us, Master” Luna spoke up first.

“I guess the deed has been done” Blaze muttered silently, letting out a heavy sigh.

Anxious to find Pearl, Draco’s eyes scanned the room, searching for her presence among others. However, the uneasy silence that followed made it clear that something was amiss. No one could bring themselves to speak, or meet his gaze.

“Where is Pearl?” Draco asked, but got no response.

“Didn’t you hear my question?” He barked impatiently and they flinched.

“She’s the reason you’re back” Raven said as she appeared into the room.

Her words hit Draco like a bolt of lightning and his eyes widened as understanding dawned upon him.

He quickly rushed out of his bed and opened a portal.

“He’ll never be the same again” Dylan muttered as they watched him leave through the portal.

“The main beast has just been awaken!” Raven added.
