Three weeks Later…✨
Starr’s POV?
I sat down next to Kendrick as i tell him lots of stories, am glad he’s fast recuperating and everything seems to be in place now.
“do you need anything?
“no, thanks,” he replied while i smiled. Soon the door went open and his dad walked in.
“guess who are here? he said with a smile.
“Kendrick,” Laura said with a smile as she walked in with Nica behind her and also dad….
“i’m glad you all came,” i said happily.
“of course, am sure you know how Kendrick is important to us too,” Laura said.
“and we brou-ght you some fruits,” Nica smiled.
“am damn tired of staying here, can’t i be discharge?” He asked.
“yes, am glad you’re fast recuperating but your leg still hurt, you’ll find it so difficult to walk,” his dad said.
“i just want to go home,” he muttered under his breath.
“hey don’t be jerk, the doctor said you’ll soon be discharged but not now, a little more patience Ken,” i said while he smiled.
“we miss you Kendrick, you need to see how worried we were,” my dad said.
“and Starr was always with you, she was there for you each time even when you were not awake,” Laura smiled.
“thank you.. thank you all, i appreciate,” he said.
“i thought i was gonna lose you just the way i lose your mother and Fredrick. Please Kendrick you have to more careful now, i love you so much son,” Kendrick’s dad said getting everyone emotional.
“okay… let cheer up a little bit. I have always known Kendrick is a fighter, and now that he’s is back to life he and Starr will continue their lovey-dovey life… sweet love birds,” she said dreamily while i laughed.
“hey Nica, is that the only thing you know,” i rolled my eyes at her.
…The room was filled with laughter, as Laura cracked her funny jokes, i felt so happy, so blessed to be part of this family and so loved to have all this people in my life. Every disappointment is a blessing in disguise, had it been i wasn’t found by Mr. Arnold i wouldn’t have know anyone of them but then i felt so sad knowing i might have my real family somewhere.
Later in the evening..✨
Everyone left and i was just with Kendrick in the room.
“today was fun, i just want to go back home,” he said.
“of course you will,” i smiled, immediately Dr. Greg walked in.
“hi doc,” i smiled.
“seems someone is happy now, i told you their’s no need to get worried after all! Kendrick will be discharged next week,” he said jotting down something down on a cli-pboard.
“i told you!” i whisper to Kendrick happily.
“so how you feeling especially your leg? Dr. Greg asked staring at Kendrick.
“feeling much better but find it difficult to even stand up,” he said.
“i know it still hurt,” Dr. Greg said, as he observed his leg for a while.
“during the accident your leg got affected by it, but you have to keep on doing your regular exercise, it will help a lot,”
“but doc, can he be able to walk again? i asked.
“sure, it just a minor one, no need to worry,” he said while i heaved a sigh of relief, i don’t know how to thank Dr. Greg enough.
“thank you so much Sir, thank you for your all your help,” i said tenderly.
“you don’t have to thank me a million times Starr and beside you don’t have to be so formal, you can call me by my name Greg,” he said.
“huh? maybe i will just add this doctor to it, Dr. Greg, i can’t call you by your name,” i said.
“of course you can, we are friends already so feel free.
. okay?
“sure,” i nodded then turn to Kendrick who was staring at us.
“i’ll leave you two,” he said then walked out.
“who he’s? Kendrick asked
“you and your sill questions, he’s a the doctor i told you about. Dr. Greg,” i said.
“he has really helped you Kendrick, we owe him a lot, can you believe he didn’t even collect a dime from us, all this treatment was for free because his dad own this hospital. Favor has found us,” i said happily.
“are you really sure about this? do you trust him?
“he’s such a nice guy Ken,” i said.
“but you do trust him? he asked again.
“of course not, not after what between me and Elvis but trust me when i say Dr. Greg is million times better than Elvis,” i said.
“it all started that way Starr, you trust people easily and that’s your weakness. Who knows if the goddamn doctor have another intention. Ever since what happen between you and doc Elvis, i hate doctors! he wanted to take advantage of you! Kendrick snorted while i sigh.
“please Ken let not talk about this, Dr. Greg is just a friend and am sure once you’re out of here i will keep my distance from him, i promise,” i pouts.
“i hope so Starr, i don’t want you to get into any trouble because of me, once am out of here i will pay my bills and after all i can borrow some money from Mr. Haddie and to pay bills,”
“Kendrick…
“that’s final Starr, i know what am saying,”
“but that will hurt his feelings, he might thought we abuse his kindness towards us, the young man just want to help after knowing i lose my job as a nurse,” i said sadly.
“he knows that! Starr are you even close to him to the essence of telling him that?
“of course not, please don’t take it the wrong way,” i breathe out, this conversation will just led into another argument.
“i need some to get some fresh air,” i said peskily then i walked out. I went outside and stand at the corridor, staring at the people coming in and out. Soon i saw a car speedily drove in. oh! it emergency… the nurses quickly rushed with a stretcher and rush the casualties. I remembered the day Kendrick was rushed here too, i thought i would lose him, i just hope they survived. I miss helping people, i miss being a nurse and if their’s a way i can i will love too. Am glad dad did his best,
because i was able to finish college of nursing and secure a nice job back then while Laura also had good grades because she studied business administration but then no job yet same implies with Kendrick, he only work at a workshop but then he’s doing all he can to secure a good job because he study engineering. I was surprise when i saw Dr.Greg who was answering a phone call. I recalled what Kendrick told me… is it really necessary to do that! i fixed my gaze on him, lost in my thought! he was done with the phone call as he rush to the ER…
I later return back to check on Kendrick, he was asleep already. I smiled then sat down on a chair beside him, i stare at this handsome face, i feel so lucky having him even thou we quarrel atimes, we disagree with each other but he’s still the best man ever in my life and i love him so much. I picked up my bag and i removed my dairy as i fli-p throu-ghthe pages. Suddenly a thought came to my mind and i quickly write it down and smile.
“nothing will tear us apart Kendrick,” i smile.
▪▪▪I slightly open my eyes, my head was aching so bad and my wai-st was really paining me, did i just sleep on this chair!
“Starr, i thought you went home already! you don’t to stress yourself,” Kendrick said softly as he held my hand. He’s awake already!
“huh! no am fine,” i said blearily as i stood up and stretch my body.
“you need to go home and rest! i don’t like it when you stress yourself too much, am already fine,” he said.
“just allow me take care of you, and that’s remind me -i haven’t say good morning, so good morning sweet love,” i smiled.
“morning, how was your night?
“it was fine because i slept beside my love,”
“you slept on that chair and i know your body hurts a lot, is your ne-ck paining you or your wai-st or…
“am fine! i said with a smile. The door went open and i was glad when i saw Kendrick’s dad with Laura.
“breakfast is ready,” Laura squeaked.
“do you have to come this early? Kendrick asked.
“sure,” his dad replied.
“Starr you need to go home and change and also rest, you look so tired,” he said while i nodded.
“i was just looking after him,”
“okay guarding angel, just go home now. It my turn to take care of Kendrick,” Laura said while i smiled.
“okay then take care and if you need anything please just call me immediately,” i said then held Kendrick’s hand and caress it softly.
“i have to go, take care please,” i said.
“sure i will, make you sure you sleep well Starr. Don’t stress yourself,” he said while i smile before walking out..

▪▪Mabel’s POV▪▪
I and Edward were both seated at our sitting room with Officer Jake sitting opposite to us
.
“so is there any news about my daughter? i asked tearfully.
“no Ma’am, i told you this will be a tough one. Re-opening this case will just be more difficult but we are still trying our best to see if we can have a clue of where she is,” he said, i pick an envelope on the table, then removed some of Princess pictures, especially they one took during her tenth birthday with the ne-cklace i gave her.
“this might the clue, maybe with this ne-cklace if she still have it,” i said while Jake collect it, then stare at the picture.
“I’ll handle this, ” he said.
“Just do everything you can officer, this our only hope! Edward said.
“Princess might never get back to us,” i cried but Edward pulled me in hug.
“we are her parents and we still believe she’s alive. If Princess is alive, she’ll definitely return back to us,” he said while i nodded in tears.
“Please Mabel don’t get your hopes too high cos you might end getting hurting yourself. Let just wish for the best for now,” he said.

▪▪Later in the evening i went to check up on Tony in his room and i found him playing the keyboard, he’s just so good in that. Edward has taught him well.
“hi mom,” he said happily when he saw me.
“come in,” he said while i walked in fully then sat down beside him.
“how was it? he asked.
“what?
“the search for Princess, were they able to get a clue? he asked.
“no.. i guess this just impossible,” i said with a heavy heart.
“you always have this strong feeling Princess will be back, please don’t back out of this,” he said.
“i know Tony, but it not easy but maybe we should try looking for your real parents now,” i said while he looked at me, surprise!
“am an orphan remember, you just adopted me,” he said sadly.
“that’s the case Tony, who knows if you’re also a victim,” i said.
“victim of what?
“just like Princess who was taken away from us, who knows if you’re also taken away from you real family and being dumped at the orphanage,” i said while he kept quiet for a while.
“could i possibly have a family somewhere? he asked.
“i know that the same question Princess is asking herself everyday that’s if she’s still alive! i know she’s still wandering if she have a family,”
“is that possible, then who could they be. Look mom you’ve done enough for me and dad already. I don’t want to be a burden,”
“you’re not a burden and i love you Tony, i just want to help you, who knows they might be a family missing you somewhere. This world is a small place Tony, maybe by doing this Princess might also come back to me. If we can’t find Princess then we should at least try to find your family,” i said.
“are you sure about this mom. I love being here, don’t you think that’s dangerous?
“no Tony, i will just talk to Edward about this but always know that you’re still our son and we love you so much,” i smiled.
“the best mother ever, thank you for everything,” he said.

▪▪Greg’s POV▪▪
I was dressed, ready for work! i only drank a tea and am okay with that. Suddenly my phone rang and i picked it up
.
“Natasha, how are you? i said into the phone.
“am fine Greg, are you less busy today? she asked, her voice was low and calm.
“sure, i will text you the address of where we’ll meet,” i said before hanging up. I was so curious. Who could be threatening Natasha? am gonna know that today!
“are you leaving already? Hilary asked as she walked up to me.
“yea,” i replied icily.
“and you’ve not eaten!”
“can you stop acting like my mother or rather my wife,” i scoffed while she smiled.
“am just trying to be a good wife,”
“good wife indeed,” i snorted.
“i will be travelling to Australia next week for something important and mind you we’ll go together,” i said.
“really! i hope you’re gonna stay for long there?.
“not really,” i said then walked out without replying to any of her questions.
I was glad Kendrick was awake and fast recovery, Starr seems so happy about that.

▪▪▪I went to check up on Kendrick, to see how he’s faring. I was surprise when i saw him alone, maybe Starr left already.
“it a good thing you are able to sit,” i smiled while he nodded.
“do you need anything? i asked.
“i guess i should be the one to ask you that,”
he said while i turn to his direction.
“what did you want from Starr? he asked.
“Starr?
“you heard me right! i know you’re only pretending to be a good person. Stay away from Starr and we will pay you back whatever money you owe us for my treatment,” he snarled.
“hey! calm down dude, i was only trying to help. You should be thankful and not get jealous because Starr is nothing to me,” i scoffed.
“if you say so, because once am out of here you’ll never get to see Starr nor hear from her again! so it better you quit playing the nice guy,” he said while i held a surprise face- is he really this rude..????
