The door bell rang!
Who’s that? David? Is he back ? I thought today’s a workday for him. Or he forgot something at home and probably back to get it. It’s still morning and not up to an hour before he left with his kids.
I’ve had breakfast alre-ady and yes, my bath too. Twasn’t that easy at all. I had to limp all throu-gh to do everything on my to-do list. Only wonders how I intend to make lunch for kids before noon.
“Coming!” I got up from my seat the moment the door bell rang again. I don’t think that’s David at the door. He wouldn’t bother using the bell when it’s his house. Might be his visitor. A friend or something.
I managed myself towards the door. I peeped the tiny glas-sy bu-tton on the door yo make sure the sight at the door doesn’t call for an alert. I’m helpless right now yunno.
I breathe in before opening the door.
“Goo—d morning”
My speech slurred at the handsome perfection before me.
“Good morning. I’m Dr Mike” he beamed with a radiant smile. Staring back at me likewise.
“Mr. David isn’t at home” I stated clearly. No nee-d wasting his time.
“Yeah I know. I’m here for you. He told me to come over to check on his Kid’s Nanny”
He flashed me another cute smile which showed his dimple. Gosh! This doctor is cute.
“Oh. I see. Come in then”
? DAVID ?
I parked closely at the side of their school and waited as they alighted from the car.
“Dad what are we having for lunch when we get back?” Now asked after stepping down.
“Well, leave that to Ana” I replied. Wondering why he’d be asking such when they have a Nanny alre-ady to—
“She’s not well remember?”
A bored expression on his face showed how displea-sed he was at my answer.
Oh. Ana! Her leg. Cra-p! I almost forgot she won’t be cooking till her wound heals off. And this literally places me in a ti-ght corner.
“Well… Erm. You— you shouldn’t worry about that. Wait till noon before you start thinking of lunch.. you’re supposed to be bothered about your test and not what you plan to eat for lunch which is probably six-seven hours from now. Noel be realistic for once” I snapped. Such a food lover.
“Food keeps me going. Bye dad” he placed a light k!ssas usual on my cheeks before giving a ‘Eeeeww” expression.
“Make up su-cks!” He muttered un-der his breath, but clear enough for me to hear.
Now I taste like makeup?
“Have a nice day. Kayla” I stared down at Kayla who stood beside Janie.
“You too Daddy” she smiled as she leaned forward for a k!sstoo. Wait. Is she for real?
“I just said have a nice day Kayla”. I repeated. Waiting for her to walk her a$$ down her school section.
“What about my k!ssdaddy?” She pouted ..
There’s no fu-cking way I’mma doing that sh•t! Not after what she did to my face.
“I have l-ips o-re. So I can’t,” I lied
“Then let me” she leaned closer
“You can’t Kay. He has makeup on his face” Janie held her back.
“Oh. Okay. Bye daddy. Love you” she giggled before walking to her school section.
“Love you too.. little vampire” i mumbled. ma-king sure no one heard it
“I’ll be back before 2pm to pick you guys up. ”
“Okay. Sure thing. Bye Dad” she nodded… And turned to leave.
“One more thing dad” she st©pped, staring back at me.
“Yeah?”
“Get rid of that makeup. It’s horrible” and then, she walked out.
Horrible? Seriously??
I stared at my face throu-gh the mirror.
Whatever! I rather look horrible than have little teeth marks on my face. I thought within as I drove out of the school premises. Straight to Duvel company.

“Thank you Doctor”
I felt a little relieved after he gave me a small mas-sage on my feet and some medical prescription. With some advice on little exercises that would speed up the rate my would will heal.
“You’re welcome” he gave me a flashy smile.
“So what’s your name?” He asked, taking a seat beside me.
“ROSIANA” I drawled..
“Lovely name. I’m Mike” he stretched his hand for a shake.
“So you live here right? With David and his kids”
“Yeah I do. For like a week now”
“And he never told me he has such a beautiful lady living with him. David’s my friend yunno. We went to college together and we made a pretty good team in basketball ”
He. Went further to explain
“wow. I wouldn’t be surprised. You guys have great heights though”
“Yeah. ” He cackled. Then continued.
“How do you cope with his kids? Don’t they give headaches?’..
“They’re alot handy. But luckily, we ate on good sides. Except Janie” I breathe ha-rd on that. Since last night, Janie hasn’t asked about my leg. Unlike Kayla and Noel.
“Janietta. She’s just pla-ying ha-rd to get. That’s one thing about first borns yunno. It’s never easy to win them over. You’re lucky though. No and Kayla likes you as a lady living in Same house with them. David’s kids don’t ever get attached with his female friends. For all I know so far, they don’t even want to see their dad close to one”
He laughed at his statement. It’s funny. But it got me greatly concerned.
“Do you have any idea why?” I asked with a furrowed brow.
“Well, they have their reasons. But it’s a great thing they get to flow with you. And about Janie, she’ll come around”
I hope so! I nodded slightly at his statement. I just hope so!
“So ,Rosiana, is there anything you’d like to do today?”
“Well I’d love to make luny for the kids. But my feet will give me problem with that. I can’t Walk about freely while ma-king out for the ingredients”
“That’ll be no problem. I could help with lunch” he suddenly spoke out.
Wait.for real??
“For real? Don’t you have work to do?”
I asked. Looking surprised at his kind gesture
“That can wait. Besides, I can cook so well” he gave me a flir-ty wi-nk. Yet again revea-ling his dimple.
“Are you sure u won’t waste your time?”
“Nah. I don’t mind spending the entire day with a beautiful lady”..
My cheeks heated at his compliment. And I felt a little embarras-sed at it. I’m so reactive to mere compliments.
“Thanks” I blu-shed ha-rd .
He took my hands and as-sisted me to my feet.
“So….., Where’s the road to your kitchen?”

“Mr David. Mr David!” I heard my name the moment I alighted from my car.
“Miss Emily?” I arched as she approached closer.
“Isn’t it too early to be looking for me?”
“Yeah. I know. The manager wants a ….. Oh my, is that make up on your face?”
She suddenly asked. Looking confused.
“What? No … No way!” I obviously lied.
“You better wipe it off before the meeting.. ” she chuckled a little
“What meeting? I don’t remember anyone fixing a meeting”
“Well it’s impromptu. The manager wants a meeting with all staffs right now.”
“This minute? Is anything the problem?”
Why would he call for an impromptu meeting?
“There’s no problem Mr Romero. Just a staff meeting” she smiled before walking back inside.
Hmm. Interesting.
And concerning my face,
I di-pped my hand into my pocket and brou-ght out a kerchief which I used in wiping my face. I don’t want to look like a clown before the staff members. I won’t be used for ma-king fun.
I sighed out in relief before counting my steps into the building.

“I have to go now Rose”
Dr Mike notified, picking up his medical kits which he used on me…
“Can’t you at least wait to eat? It isn’t fair if you leave like that” my brows furrowed.
“wish I could”
“Yeah I un-derstand” I exhaled sharply.
He just received a phonecall from the Ward concerning an emergency and he really has to go. Good thing he helped with cooking before the call c@m£ throu-gh.
And sad Enough, he won’t be staying to have a piece of what we prepared together.
“I’ll be back tomorrow, to check on you and see progress”
“I look forward to that then. But is David aware of it? That you intend to come tomorrow?”
I don’t want a situation where he doesn’t know of our meet ups. Since he’s always at work.
“Yeah. Sure. He personally told me to treat your wounds till it gets better”
“That’s nice if him” I could alre-ady feel my cheeks begin to heat up! I’m blu-shing again. David is such a caring fella.
” It was nice spending time with you Rose”
“Same here doctor. Have a safe journey back” I waved him off as he left for his car.

I smiled as I watched his vehicle ride out of David’s compound.
Now it’s just me and that’ little guy junior. Who does nothing in the house except to eat. Sleep, and cry… Good thing he’s slee-ping right now,some peace and quiet. If not, I’d running round circles to calm him down.
Besides, I feel a bit relieved now. My wounds, it’s healing fas-ter than I thought.

I traced David to his office after the meeting ended. I couldn’t wait to talk to him while the meeting was still on. Such boring speeches by the staffs. I found it too ha-rd to pick what they were saying. My mind was circled around David.
I couldn’t keep my eyes off him while the meeting lasted. And even when he got up to give his speech? Gosh! He looked so h0t even as he rolled out the words from those $exyl-ips I can’t wait to taste .
Mere looking at those Abs which trailed visibly on his fitted sleeve shi-t, mehn I could alre-ady feel my insides burning up. I imagined his every inch inside me while I ride furiously on his little man!
I love this guy to a fault.
I can’t get enough of sleep because of his thoughts running throu-gh my mind. I want him all to myself.
I twisted open the doors knob before walking inside.
“Alicia ” he looked suprised to see me.
“David” I smiled. A flir-ty smile I love giving him.
“Have a seat” he gestured.
“Oh plea-se. You know I hate formalities. Especially when it comes to you”
I waved off.. walking over to his desk.
“My bad” he shrugged.
“About yesterday, how’s your maid?”
I asked, trailing my f!ngerson the table.
“She’s a Nanny. Not a maid” he corrected as if the statement c0cked something in him.
“What’s the difference?” I rolled my eyes.
“She’s fine” h breathe out. Simply not in the mood to get into an argument. I guess.
“Good to hear. I’m still sorry for what I did. It was a mistake”
Yeah. Twas no mistake! I did it on purpose and I don’t mind doing it again just to chase her out of that house. Her sight disgusts me.
I hated her the very first day I la-id eyes on her. If her plan is to take David away from me, jeez! It’s not gonna work. I’ll personally make sure of that.
“It’s no problem. Good thing she knows it was a mistake too” he nodded.
Whatever. Talking about her irritates me.

“So, it’s almost time for lunch. Do you mind having it with me?”

I gulped ha-rd at the sight of her bre@sts facing me. What do I call this? Is she tryna flir-t with me or what?
“First of all–” I started, staring into her face.
“You have a loosed bu-tton” I pointed out, picking up a file which I placed as a coverage on it.
“I think you should adjust it” I added
“Oh..” she c0cked her head with a small frown. Staring down at my hand which covered her che-st with a file.
“My bad” she sighed out. Standing straight A’s she bu-ttoned up.
“And second, I won’t be staying for lunch. I’ll be going over to pick up my kids from school. It’s test today and they’ll be closing on time” I smiled. Watching her face faltrr like a feather.
“So that’s a No. Right?”..
“If there’s anyway way to say it”
“Okay. Can I come then?” She suddenly asked. Her question almost choking the air out of me. What? Come and then cause another drama with my kids or Ana? No way.
“No.. no worries Alicia” I replied instead.
Speaking of Ana, I don’t even know how she’s faring right now. I don’t have her digits to make a call and check. Did Mike still drive to my place like I had told him?
Hmm. I feel so much worried. She’s the only one with junior at home. What if she’s in pain? Who would she call for help? She doesn’t have my number too.
The thought of her Alone makes me wanna run back home to see if she’s alright. I checked my watch. It’s almost 1:30. What am I still doing here? I gotta pick up my kids and rush down home.
“I gotta go” I picked up my jacket alongside my phone, shoved past Alicia before walking out of my office. My kids don’t have to wait long for me.

He just walked out on me! Again..?
I chewed on my ton-gue as my teeth clenched in sour bitterness. I feel so bitter now. Nothing I do ever gets to him. Isn’t he man Enough?
My moves,y appearance, who would ever believe David just got a green light from me and yet still act like he’s blind. My b©dy languages are enough to turn a sane man on. Unless he’s an impotent! He can’t really be an impotent. He’s got four kids which I know he did it manly.
So what’s so difficult in ma-king a move? I’m so fu-cked up right now. I’m fu-cking attra-cted to him and anytime he snobs me or act like I’m just a mere person, it drives me nuts. I want him! I want him so bad!!
I could swear I was all red in Anger now. I bit ha-rd on my f!nger as I paced round his office. How strong scent coarsing throu-gh my nose. What can I possibly do to have him? I’m going insane! All my plans keeps failing.
Amidst my worried thoughts, my phone suddenly rang out as a message popped in.
NORA? Hey Bbe, meet me outside. I’ve got a suprise for you.
I scoffed as I re-ad out. Nora at my workplace? That’s almost impossible. Why’s she here? And a suprise? Little wonders. It isn’t my birthday today ..
I thought within as I texted back an ‘Okay’ to her.
Whatever it is, this suprise better cheer up my mood.

Immediately I drove out of Duvel, I didn’t ride to my kids school, instead I drove home. I nee-ded to check on Ana. I was beginning to feel too worried and I had to ease my mind.
I know my kids are doing great. But for Ana, ain’t too sure. If only I had her contact, It would have saved me this stress.
The ride to my house didn’t take long. I quic-kly parked at the side of the house. I alighted from it and rushed inside. The moment I opened the door, her name f0rç£d out from myl-ips.
“Ana? Ana?… An–
“Mr David? ” That voice. That voice caused a calmness in me.
“Is that you Mr David?” She called out from the sitting.
It’s David.! How many times will she Take corrections.
“Yes” I breathe out a sigh of relief.
“I’m over here” she added. I could alre-ady s-en-se the smile in her voice.
I briskly walked over to the sitting a d meet her pla-ying with junior.
” seems you guys are having fun” I smiled at the sight before me. Junior always feel comfortable when he’s with Ana. He ba-rely cries or disturbs the neighborhood.
“Yes we are” she beamed. Her smile so radiant. I f0rç£d my eyes away from hers before j get lost in it. Whenever she smiles, she looks more innocent and beautiful.
I’m so relieved now seeing her in a good state. My troubled Mind suddenly calmed.
“Where are the kids? You haven’t gone to school yet?” She asked. Her eyes searching round for them.
“Huh no no I haven’t . I just ehn I… ”
I possibly can’t tell her I c@m£ rushing home because I was pretty worried. I can’t tell her that. Nah I can’t.
“I forgot something and I c@m£ to check on it” I lied
“Hmm. Okay” she shrugged.
“How’s your leg? Did Dr Mike still come over to check on you?” We asked walking closer to where she sat.
“Oh yeah. He did” she smiled even more.
I’m beginning to suspect this smile of hers. Why did it grow wi-de at the mention of Dr Mike?
Mike can be mysterious yunno.
“Hope he didn’t give troubles. You know no one was at home at that moment”
My question attached with Alot of meaning. But she was just too excited to even know.
“Well. No he’s way too nice and funny to give troubles” she replied instead.
I didn’t call that idiot yo crack jokes for Ana. Now she’s feeling too happy talking about him?
“Funny. I see” I huffed.
She has never told me I’m funny. Just few hours with Mike and he’s alre-ady funny to her?

“Mr David. Are you okay?”
He question j£rked me off my thoughts.
“Oh. Yeah I’m fine. Why ask?”
“Well you had a small frown on your face and I just wanted to be sure I haven’t said something to warrant it”
“Uh. No no” I chuckled slightly waving off her statement.
“It’s nothing. By the way, I just wanted to ask what you’d like for lunch. I don’t wanna bother you with cooking or .
“No nee-d for lunch Mr David. It’s settled alre-ady” she smiled. Cutting me off my speech.
“Really? You made lunch alre-ady? How did you do that?” I laughed in excitement.
“Not just me. All thanks to Mike. He helped with lunch”
My laugh suddenly dropped to a stare of dumbstruck suprise.
That sonofabit-ch? He cooked?
I called him here to my house to treat my kid’s Nanny. He did otherwise.
Not only did he make her laugh. He also cooked. Like he fu-cking cooked iny House. My kitchen??!
“He’s sweet yunno. Such a gentleman”
She commented. Gracefully.
“Yeah. He is” I clenched my jsw as I nodded to what she said.
