SHE’S MY TWIN
~CHAPTER 1~
Alexa’s POV
“here use this crayon. it’ll make the drawing more beautiful” I
watched as mom gave Alexis another crayon. I was seated
next to her. we were both doing our as-signment on drawing.
“what about me mom” I asked staring at her “I want a crayon
like Alexis.”
she smiled at me “yours look okay sweetie. no nee-d for that”
“you can use blue. you love the color right” Alexis smiled at
me.
“I don’t want to” I yelled feeling cheated.
“do your homework Alexa. don’t create a scene” mom said
scolding me.
it’s always like that in this house. Alexis Alexis. I feel invisible. I
have always tried to control it but now it’s getting out of hand.
I stormed into our room and closed the door. I don’t feel like
being here as well. I’ve told dad to find me another room but
he keeps on giving me attitude. “she’s your sister” he keeps
saying.
Though Alexis and I are twins but we’re fraternal not identical.
I looked a lot like my mom and Alexis like my dad. People say
Alexis is more beautiful than me but I doubt it.
we’re both of the same age. yeah we’re twins. I’m 12. we live in
Miami. we attend beach wood middle school.
The room smells like pink which is Alexis favorite color. I love
blue so pink irritates me. I sat on my be-d and took my l@pt©p. I
wore my head set to shut off the noise.
The door flew open and she c@m£ in. she stood in front of the
be-d.
“Alexa” she called but I didn’t respond.
she walked up to me and re-moved the device from my ears. I
gave her a ha-rd stare.
“Alexa”
“it’s my name okay. what do you want”
“you can have the crayon. i don’t want it” I looked at her. she
was smiling.
“I don’t want it. I’ll get mine tomorrow”
“hope I drew it well?” she showed me the book. I couldn’t help
but laugh. Though Alexis is the most favorite one, I’ve got the
br@ins. She’s very smart but not up to my standard.
“it looks stupid”
“Mom said it’s nice”
“obviously. cause she loves you more”
“Mom loves both of us. we’re twins. how can she not like her
daughters”
“if you’re done preaching, you can get out” i wore my head set
and increa-sed the volume.
she sat on her be-d looking at me. her pres£nce pisses me off.
Dad c@m£ back from work in the evening.
“where’s are both my princesses” we ran out to meet him. he
k!$$£d our hair.
“welcome dad” we chorused together
He carried Alexis in his arms and k!$$£d her cheek. he did
same to me as well. i loved dad a bit cause most times, he
was being fair.
Mom c@m£ out of the kitchen walked up to dad. he k!$$£d her
cheeks.
“Welcome sweetie”
“thank you” dad responded
“go take your shower and I’ll serve dinner” she said. dad
nodded and ran upstairs.
He showered and c@m£ down.
“hey that’s my sp©t” I yelled as Alexis sat down on my chair
“seat here honey” dad said and I frowned
“no. I want to seat here” I argued
“just seat here and next time, you can seat next to your Mom.”
I sat down angrily.
Mom served dinner. she opened the bowls. it was Alexis
favorite food. why is mom being unfair?
“here you go darling” she cut out a portion for her
“wow. you cook well mommy”
“do you want another one?” she said and Alexis nodded.
“here have this” she spoon fed her.
“Hmm yummy”
I clenched my fists. my blood boiled to a hundred degrees.
she didn’t even care that I was seating here. She’s doing it
again. I felt like a third wheel.
I picked my food. my appetite had alre-ady died.
“Alexa are you not hungry?” I raised my brow
“so you finally noticed me” I ban-ged the table with my hands
and stood up.
“Alexa” dad called “where are you going”
“anywhere but here.” I threw the napkins on the table and ran
upstairs.

Mrs Mcurdy’s POV
seeing Alexa like this is really breaking my heart. she was a
very good girl and I’m trying my best to be a good mother.
she’s just a bit jealous. I knew she was. I was giving too many
attention to Alexis than I give to her.
I never expected her to turn out like this.
when I got pregnant with my kids, I was the happiest woman
in the world but my happiness was cut short when I gave birth
to my girls. Alexa c@m£ out strong and full of energy but Alexis
was the opposite.
she had a kidney problem which made her stomach ache all
the time. doctors said if we are not too careful, I could loose
her and anytime soon,we could be coming for a kidney
operation and it made me devote my time to her. we had
gone to several hospitals as well. I feel as if i leave her, she
could die the next minute. Alexa was very strong so I felt she
could handle herself more better than her sister would.
But seeing her get very jealous at the slightest thing is really
ma-king me scared.
I love my babies and I don’t want them hating each other.
I just hope Alexa doesn’t take this the wrong way..

~CHAPTER 2~
Alexa’s POV continues
I woke up from be-d. my mind went back to what happened
yesterday night. I couldn’t believe that mom didn’t come to get
me. even though I was mad, I still thought that maybe, just
maybe she would come but nothing.
I looked at Alexis. she was still fast asleep. what’s so special
about her? was mom angry that she gave birth to me? why is
she the one getting all the attention? she’s just the sp©tlight
stealer. I rolled my eyes and stood up from my be-d.
wearing my fl!pflops, I went inside the bathroom to brush my
teeth. After that I took my shower. when I c@m£ out, Alexis was
alre-ady awake.
“Good morning sis” she greeted
“Hmm morning” I said throu-gh gritted teeth.
she yawned while stretching herself. she got up and went inside
the bathroom to freshen herself. when she c@m£ out, I was
alre-ady dressed.
“I’ll wear what you’re wearing” she giggled and opened the
wardrobe.
since we were five, mom always bought us matching outfits. we
always wore the same clothes to school and even when we go
out. but now I hated it. I don’t want to wear it anymore.
“we look the same” she smiled
“impossible. matching outfits don’t make us twins. it’s stupid” I
glared at her.
“let’s wear this” she said holding my arms and swinging it.
“whatever” I said pu-lling my hands from hers. I took my bag and
went down.
Dad was seated on the table. he was fli-pping throu-gh the
newspaper. while mom served breakfast. I sat down next to dad
and Alexis Sat down with Mom.
“Good morning mom. morning dad” we chorused.
“good morning my princesses” dad responded smiling.
“How are you girls” mom asked.
“fine Mom” Alexis replied.
“Alexa” mom called
“yes”
“how are you”
“I’m still surviving” I rolled my eyes
“ok” she served breakfast. Pancakes and Cinnamon creame. she
dished out for all of us.
I ate silently.
“hope your stomach upset didn’t come last night”
“it didn’t mom” Alexis replied
“ok baby”
my eyes went to both of them. I really envied their bond.
“plea-se take them to school sweetie. I’m alre-ady late for
work”dad said to her as he stood up.
” ok I will”
he k!$$£d her cheeks
“be good girls in school. when one of you get into trouble, make
sure you help the other out OK” he said k!ss!ngour hair.
“sure dad” Alexis replied
“Alexa..?”
“can’t promise but I’ll try”
“that’s my girl”
“drive carefully” mom said
“will do love” he replied. he took his briefcase and files and went
out.
When we finished eating, we took our back packs and followed
mom to the garage. she opened the door of the car and we got
inside. I seated at the back while Alexis at the front with Mom.
“Have you taken your books?” she asked
“yes” Alexis responded
“sketch pad?”
“and pen, food etc etc. you worry too much”
“I know”
“what about you alexa?”
“I’m OK”
“alright” she started the engines and drove off.
“you girls are wearing matching outfits. you both look beautiful”
she complimented
“thanks mom. Alexa wore it first”
“that’s good Alexa”
I sighed.
“mom let’s sing that song again. the one who sing whenever
whenever we drive” Alexis suggested
“ok sweetheart”
“the wheels on the car go round and round all day in town” they
both continued singing. I brou-ght out my head set and placed it
on my ears. I increa-sed the volume.
they kept on singing till we arrived at school. i opened the door
and stepped down.
“have a nice day”
“good bye Mom” Alexis k!$$£d her cheeks.
I turned to go
“Alexa, won’t you k!ssmommy?” she asked smiling.
I k!$$£d her cheeks
“I love you sweetie. don’t forget that ok”
“I love you too Mom”
“take care of yourself and your sister OK”
I nodded. I knew it. she only said she loved me because she
wanted something.
“ok goodbye” I walked inside and Alexis followed.
How could she. now I’ll be stuck with the attention stealer until
school closure. I hate my life
