“What’s wrong?” Nolan asked when he saw the look on Gray’s face.
He raised the phone up and showed Nolan the message he received.
Nolan couldn’t believe it.
Who is behind that? He questioned himself.
“Who sent it?” He asked Gray.
“It’s an unknown number, no idea who sent it” Gray replied simply.
Nolan ruffled his hair as he was confused.
Gray is the one that would be handling Vina’s case
“Who must have sent it? He continued to ask.
His friend’s life is somehow in danger now.
“Call the number” he quickly said.
Gray dialed the number,but it did not connect.
“Not connecting” Gray said.
“Argh!” What is all these? Damn! He yelled.
“No body is dropping any case,Vina must go to prison.
“Look at what Nora is passing through now,all because of that heartless witch.
“I will k!ll her with my bare hands if I set my eyes on her.
“I am pretty sure Vina sent this,we are not dropping any case and there’s nothing she can do about it.
“This is an empty threat to scare you,she can’t do nothing” he continued to talk worriedly and kept ruffling his hair.
“I can’t stand seeing my sister like that, it breaks me completely” he said,pacing around.
“Nora” he called as he remembered that Nora locked herself in.
He and Gray succeeded in getting in,cause they both used their strengths to push the door and got in.
“Nora” he quickly rushed to her”
She sat on the bed and buried her head in her legs,crying uncontrollably.
“Everything will be alright, Nora. Believe me,you’re going to have children, many of them” he added.
“Y’all kept this away from me,you betrayed me.
“Everyone knew about my condition except me?
How could you do this to me?” She increased the cry.
“Nora,we didn’t want to tell you yet,since you were still trying to recover. Peyton said and moved closed to her.
“Pey,you and I lived together for like ever,and you couldn’t tell me this,I thought you loved me” she cried.
“I love you, Nora and I always will. The doctor asked us not to tell as at then. I’m sorry,Nora” she said and pulled her in a hug.
Nora hugged her so tight and kept crying on her shoulder.
Tears were streaming down freely from her eyes.
Nolan was devastated, he was so broken and felt bad for his sister.
Gray moved closer and sat beside her on the bed.
This is the first time he seen Nora cry,he felt really bad.
“It’s okay,baby” I will always be there for you. I am not saying this out of pity,this is coming deep from my heart.
“I love you no matter what” he said and started wiping her tears away.
“We are all here for you,Nora” Nolan said,trying to make her feel better.
“Hey,Nolan. Can I talk to you?” Rahkel asked in a whisper.
“Sure” he answered.
He was about leaving when Peyton grabbed his hand.
She was feeling weak and so,held unto him.
“Can you take me to the room,please? I need to lie down, I don’t feel well” she said.
“Sorry,baby. Can we talk after this,please? He asked Rahkel.
“Sure” she nodded and faked a smile.
Nolan took Peyton to the room where she laid back peacefully.
“Can I get you anything” he asked.
“I’m fine,I don’t need anything” she said.
Nolan nodded and left the room,but told her to call him if she needs anything.
RAHKEL’S ROOM****
“You wanted to talk to me” Nolan said when he got to Rahkel’s room.
“Yea” she said and moved close to him cause he was sitting at the edge of the bed,a bit away from her.
“Umm,buddy. I don’t know how to say or put this in a way you won’t think I’m jealous or don’t like your relationship with her.
“You see” she said and held his hands.
“You really don’t have my time anymore,hmm” she paused for a while.
“You don’t care about your best buddy like you used to,since you started dating her you hardly call to check up on me like you used.
“Even when I wasn’t here,if I don’t call,you won’t bother.
“See,I’m not saying this out of jealous, trust me. I’m just telling you how you make me feel and how it is.
“Please, don’t see it as jealousy” she added immediately.
“And sorry I’m bringing this up now that things are like this, I just want to air it out.
Nolan smiled and stared at her before speaking.
“I’m sorry,Rahkel. I’m sorry I made you feel that way.
“But I’ve really been choked up with things these days,and I barely even have time for myself.
“You can see for yourself these few days you’ve spent here.
“You know my wedding is fast approaching,a lot is going on and I can’t even think straight,Rahkel” he said.
“Does he really have to mention the wedding?” She gushed.
Rahkel stared at him with so much passion, her eyes drifted to his lips.
The last time they kissed before he got into a relationship.
They tasted so good,and Nolan being a good kisser made her go crazy with his perfect way of kissing.
She doesn’t even want to talk about the s*x they had.
She continued to stare at him and was completely lost in her thoughts.
“Rahkel?” Nolan called,bringing her back to her senses.
“Umm,yea….she answered.
“Pick a day,I want to make it up to you”
“Pick any day let’s hang out together, just you and me” he said and Rahkel almost jumped on him in excitement.
“Thanks buddy. Gosh! You don’t know how happy I am,at least my buddy still has a little time for me” she winked.
Nolan chuckled.
“You’re such a baby” he said, making her to giggle.
“How about morrow?” she asked
“That’s fine by me” nolan replied.
“I need to check up on Peyton” he said and got up to leave.
“Nolan” she called him.
Nolan turned to face her as he was already heading to the door.
“Thank you” she simply said.
“You’re welcome,buddy” he winked at her, then shook his head and smiled before leaving.
9:00PM????MCKENZIE’S RESIDENCE****
Peyton slumped on her bed when she got home.
She returned home to her own house,cause she planned on paying her aunt a visit.
Nolan insisted she spent the night at his place,so can take her there the next day,but she refused.
Although,she and Nolan have gone there before,many times. But she insisted on going alone this time.
She’s not been feeling well lately at all and doesn’t know the sudden change.
Her gaze was high up on the ceiling,many thoughts running through her mind.
She misses Nora being around and at the same time,worried about her condition.
She got up and walked around, then her eyes caught a picture she took with her parents.
She hung it down from the wall where it was placed.
“Mom…dad…I wish you were alive to witness my wedding” she caressed the picture and said.
She suddenly started crying.
It wasn’t quite long before Nolan’s call came in.
“Just the right person I was craving to hear his voice right now” she smiled and said
She already knew who was calling,cause she set a different ring tone for him,once it rings that way, she knows he’s the one calling.
“Hey” she said after picking it.
“How are you,candy heart,are you home yet?” He asked.
“I got home not quite long” she said.
“Glad you’re home and safe,I miss you so much” he said.
“Gosh! I left the house like 20 minutes ago,and you already miss me so much” she giggled and said.
“You don’t know what you have done to me,baby. You’ve become my addiction, I cant even stay a second with seeing you” he said.
Peyton giggled and didn’t know what to reply him.
“Hey,let’s switch to video call,I want to see your face so I can sleep well this night” he said.
Peyton dropped the call,and Nolan called back almost immediately in a video call.
“Damn! Did you stop at any beauty spa to get a face massage?
“It looks so tender and more beautiful” he said.
“Stop flattering me” Peyton giggled and said.
“You know I’m not,and you know you’re beyond beautiful,but always don’t want to accept it” he said.
Peyton rolled her eyes and uttered nothing.
“Candy heart,you look pale” he said when he looked at her closely.
“I am fine,Nolan. Nothing’s wrong with me” she said and put her face close to the camera.
She opened her eyes wide and made funny faces that left Nolan laughing like a senseless person.
“You’re f*cking crazy,Peyton” Nolan said,still laughing.
“Crazy? Just wait till I get pregnant, you will see the grandma and grandpa kind of craziness” she blurted.
“Shit! Why did I say that? She felt embarrassed immediately.
“Hahahaha” Nolan laughed hard.
“I will be waiting for the grandma and grandpa kind of craziness” Nolan replied
“Peyton is indeed crazy,no doubts” he sang it like a song.
“Stop being annoying” she pouted.
“Those lips are temping, baby. Stop pouting them if you don’t want me to come to your house this instance and do crazy and naughty things to you” he said.
“Pervert!” She yelled,pouted her lips again and looked away.
Nolan chuckled.
“Stubborn fiancee” he said.
“Pervert fiance” she replied back.
“You’re gonna pay for that when I see you tomorrow. I will show you what a pervert is capable of” he smirked.
“Then I’m not coming to see you, ever again” she said and Nolan laughed.
“Like you can” he said.
“Watch me” she smirked.
“I just can’t get tired of you,never” he said and Peyton giggled.
“What time are you leaving for your aunt’s?”
“Early, by 7 or 8AM” she said.
“Alright, Jack(one of his guards) will come pick you up” he said.
“Go to bed,you need to rest” he said,Peyton nodded.
“Goodnight,baby. I love you” he said.
“I hate you more” she said it out loud.
Nolan chuckled and blew a kiss at her before hanging up.
