ONE WEEK LATER
I was doing work while glancing at
my desktop from time to time
seeing my baby girl’s pic as the
wallpaper.
God! When will all the
arrangements of the software
company be done and Stella will be
here sitting right next to me on her
desk which is already present here
in the office adjacent to mine.
My three friends barged into my
office like as usual. I think they
should have some respect for me as
I am Stella’s husband now and
knowing their history with her they
really should.
“Hey man!’’

“Whats up dude?’’
They greeted me making
themselves comfortable on the
seats opposite mine. Roman then
ordered coffee for all of us.
It had
always been like that among us
friends. No formalities. No
permission. But now I think they
should get permission before
coming to our house especially and
coming to office as after only few
days my baby girl will be here.
What if they barged in while we
are in inti-mate position?
“ Hey Xavier, already lost in your
wife’s thoughts.’’ teased Lucas.
“ Oh! lover boy.’’ cooed Roman.
Then Ace said seriously,” The
arrangements are all done Xavier.
Stella can join the office from
tomorrow.’’
I smiled like a kid who got his
favorite ice cream. My ice cream is
vanilla flavored as she drinks
vanilla shake a lot. Her li-ps taste
like vanilla.
I was jolted out of my thoughts
when Roman shook me by my
shoulder,” Xavier, stop giving this
seductive dreamy look to the wall.
Your baby girl is not there as you
are imagining her.’’ Then all of
them laughed.
“ Hey Xavier, you did your shirt’s
bu-tton the wrong way. Look at the
third bu-tton, it’s not in its loop
hole.’’ laughed Roman.
I looked down to notice it then
adjusting my bu-ttons while smiling
I said,” My baby girl, it’s already
ha-rd for her to do my bu-ttons as I
keep distracting her with my ki-sses
while she is helping me getting
ready and getting dressed.’’
All of them stopped laughing at
once. I looked up at them to see
them surprised.
” She helps you getting dressed?’’
said Ace.
“Um yeah! She chose clothes foe
me, tie, watch everything. Then she
help me getting ready, she even
make my hairstyle. But I am more
concerned about stealing ki-sses
and teasing her rather than my
looks.
They looked at each other
surprised and then they looked
de-eper in thoughts. I know that look,
they would beg their wives to help
them getting ready from now on.
Well, I am very lucky to have Stella
as my wife. She is the best wife in
the whole world.
Just then a woman whose name is
Sophia, my accounting department
manager, came into the office
grabbing all of our by her knocking
at the door.
Three years ago, she tried to make
a move on me but I rejected it as I
keep my personal and professional
life separate. I respect my
employees just like they should
respect me. I am glad that she got
my message clear after that and
never approached me again. She
had been professional ever since.
“Sir, there had been a large
transaction made throu-ghyour
account by your wife.’’ she said.
Tilting my head to the other side I
said sarcastically,”Oh! Really?’’
She said proudly,” Yes Sir, I guess
she married you for money. She
is……..’’
I didn’t let her complete, boiling in
rage I got out of my seat making it
to come in contact with the floor.
Slamming both of my hands on the
desk, making it to vibrate un-der
my hands I said,” How dare you?
How dare you to accuse my wife?
Who the hell are you to accuse
her?’’
She got so scared that the file in
her hands fell to the floor and she
was shaking in fear. Well, she
should fear me. Advancing towards
her like a lion towards its prey
ready to kill it, I said,
“ You know something she made
me a software so that I can trace
all the transactions made throu-gh
my account. She made it like that
even if she will use the money I
would get a notification instantly
how much money she used?
When? And where? You know
why? Because she never want to
give me a reason to doubt her.
And
I trust her more than myself. When
I came to know she is planning to
go on shopping, I switched off that
feature on my tab. Now I have
finally managed to delete that
feature of the software. And look!
A pathetic excuse of a woman who
is just her employee is accusing her
to use her own money. Wow!’’ I
shouted at her and she was shaking
like a dried leaf.
Getting a hold of her hair, I glared
at her then in a low voice I said
only for her to hear, “ Don’t think
for a second that I won’t harm you
because you are a woman. For
Stella, I can easily kill anyone.’’
“Xavier, easy man.’’ said Lucas.
Scoffing at that I said, “ You are
right Lucas. People take me easy
now. They think I am changed
because of love, because of my
wife. It’s time to show them that I
have changed but not for
them…….I have become even more
worse for them.’’
She was struggling to free her hair
but I grabbed her arm and dragged
her down to the reception area
throu-ghelevator. Then shoving her
away from me in front of the
whole office staff I shouted,
“ YOU ARE FIRED, I DON’T WANT
TO SEE YOU ANYWHERE NEAR ME
AND ESPECIALLY MY WIFE.’’
Then looking at all of them I
shouted,
“ YOU ARE ALL STELLA’S
EMPLOYEES. IF YOU ,YOU OR
ANYONE OF YOU DISRESPECT HER
THEN LETS JUST SAY YOU HAVE A
DEATH WISH.’’
Not caring about their gasps and
fearful faces I turned to my
elevator. How dare they? I give
them the best salaries more than
any other company, bonuses even.
And look at them, how they are
paying me back?
I got to my office to see my friends
worried, Roman said, “You don’t
have to do that Xavier. It could
have been managed the other
way.’’
Angrily looking at him said, “Really
Roman? Did you forget how your
secretary ruined your marriage
when your wife was pregnant with
your child. Heck! She was even
engaged to you.
A person from Ace’s company
informed him about the marriage
contract Amanda signed. Did you
forget all that? Well, news flash, I
AM XAVIER, I not only learn from
my mistakes but others as well.
She accused my wife to be after my
money which already belongs to
her. I don’t need her to say
throu-ghwords because I can
already see her plan to separate
me from Stella in her eyes. She is
now informing about large sum of

she saw my wife in some cafe with
a man. Then she will even say it in
words that my wife is after her
own money.Do I look that much
stupid that I would love and marry
a woman without trusting her?
My friends, you have no idea. I
won’t let anything or anyone
separate my Stella from me.’’
I took my seat, taking de-eper breaths
to calm down myself. When all us
were seated. Just then my baby girl
came in exclaiming excitedly, “
Xavi, look what I got?’’ flying her
shopping bags in air she came
towards me instantly making me
calm and peaceful.
She sat on my
lap and on reflex my arms are
around her wai-st. Smile
immediately came on my face with
her arrival.
Then taking out something from
her shopping bags she showed it to
me and it was a male shirt, “Look

it in a magazine. So I ordered this
shirt as it will look more good on
my Xavi.’’
Surprised I said, “Baby girl, you
shopped for me?’’
“Of course, you are my husband.
Moreover, I use your shirts and
boxers. I usually wear your clothes
at home as they are comfortable
and they have your scent.
Whenever I miss you while you are
at work, I wear your clothes at
home. So, if I will wear your
clothes then what will you wear?
So, it was really necessary to
expand your wardrobe. I bought

Then turning towards me she said,
“Xavi, handle it with care, it’s very
expensive. Don’t throw it carelessly
on the vanity table like you usually
do.’’
I chuckled and said, “Thank you my
baby girl.’’
She blus-hed and averted her gaze
to see my shopping that I did for
her online. The shopping bags were
near the side of my desk to hide
them from the eyes of anyone who
visits my office. “What is this?’’ she
asked.
I was planning to surprise her
when I would go home. Seeing
inside the shopping bags she found
their contents, the lingerie. She
looked at me and whispered, “So
you remembered that the one you
ripped off last night was the last
one in my wardrobe?’’
Looking at her seductively I said,
“How can I forget about that?’’
I ki-ssed her cheeks. Then my
a-ssistant came to give me what I
have been waiting for. I gave the
velvet box brou-ght by my a-ssistant
to Stella as it was her gift. She
opened it and smiled lovingly at
me.
I got the diamond ne-cklace out of
the box and made her wear it
along with earrings.
I said, “I love you.’’
She said, “I love you more.’’
I said, “I love you the most.’’
Then turning my chair to face roof
to floor gla-ss window we both
ki-ssed. Then we heard the door
being closed, it seems my
shameless friends finally decided to
leave.
Seriously, they have no sense about
giving privacy to a loving couple.
