Chapter 11
September 15, 2020
“Good morning mom” I said and pec-ked her on the cheeks
“Are you ready for your first day at work”
“Yeah I guess ”
“Should I drop you off or will you take a taxi ”
“Of course you’ll drop me off I am not taking a taxi”
“Ok okay”
“Let me get my keys ”
“No need I got it, I ran into the room and took her keys Got it” I said to her
“Let’s go”
Few minutes later
“Bye mom ”I said to her and walked into La Chic
“Good morning ma’am”
“Good morning um courly”
“It’s Courtney”
“What ever”
“Jessica ”she called out
“Yes ma’am ”a girl about my age replied
“The clothes are in the back space”
“She said to the girl take her to the BS and show her the clothes”
“Yes ma’am” she replied
“Please come with me” she said to me and I followed
We got to the back space and wow so many fashion accessories,clothes name it
It was almost like I was shopping in the mall this was my turf field
“So what am I supposed to do ”
“Oh my bad as you might already know we are releasing our new clothing line tommorow by 5pm and the rest days the same time so these are the clothes you are to be showcasing.”
“Ok”
“The overall theme of this line is forever Young”
“The theme for tommorow is casual and here are the casual outfits since this is a run on one it’s going to take three days ”
“Ok What’s a run on one”
“You don’t know maybe she didn’t explain better for you”
“Yeah ”
“So normally we have up to a hundred models to do a show in one day but now we split the show to three days and three themes which we will have only one female model and one male model to showcase the clothes the aim is to attra-ct more people to the show with the forever Young theme and you know more days more money”
“You should really do the opening speech trust me you’re good”
“Nope I’m just working so I can pay my mom hospital bills And she won’t let me either”then she whispered “she hates the job”
“Oh I’m sorry”
“Let me give the proper introduction I’m Jessica black ”
“Courtney Harper”
“Friends”
“Of course ”
“Now let’s get to testing clothes”
“Ok”
Moments later
“If I may ask where is the male model”
“Oh he’s often late he’s really busy”
“Oh ok”
“Jessica”
“Uh ”
“This dress is really cute mind if I um take it ”
“Um according to your contract you get it after the show not before”
“Ok but can I at least try it on ”
“That’s not a casual dress you know”
“I know but it’s soooooooo cute it’s literally calling my name”
“I’m not taking responsibility for any mistake ”
“I know I know”
“Don’t mess up ”she yelled after me
“It’s really good on you”
“Awww thanks”
We heard the door open
“That will be him”
He walked up to us and said “hi”
His face looked really familiar like really
“Let me introduce him Courtney this is”
“Michael” I said interrupting her
“Courtney I didn’t recognize you in that stunning dress ”
“Oh you already know each other”
“Yeah kinda”
“Ok I’ll leave you to your little chit chat”
I gave her a little frown as she went and she smiled back we’ve gotten really close the past few hours
“I did say I’ll see you again and here we are ”
“It’s just a mere coincidence”
“Nope I think it’s fate ”
“I don’t really do fate you know all those meant to be and stuff I write my own story”
“Ok the authoress” he said with air quotes and we laughed
Later in the evening after close
“Courtney” I heard someone call my name
“Michael” I said as I turned to see him in a Bugatti Veyron oh he’s rich of course he’s cute,a model why won’t he be Rich
“How bout I give you a ride Courtney”
“I think I’m fine in a taxi ”
“No you’re not get on I’m serious”
“And So am I about taking a taxi”
“We’re friends now right so get on I’m not gonna kidnap you or something”
“Swears ”
“Swears”
“Gosh you’re a scaredy cat ”he told me as I entered
We arrived home and I got down
“How about I pick you up tomorrow”
“Who do you think you are my boyfriend or something I can come myself I don’t need someone to drive me around all the time”
“Fine we’re not arguing bye ”
“Bye ”

Chapter 12
On the last day of the fashion show
September 18,2020
My phone rang it was Jessica
Hey girl what’s up
You need to come now
But it’s just 1pm it’s not yet 5
I know I know I know I know it’s an emergency I can’t tell just come quick
Hey girl I’m here what was the big urgent thing
It’s the main dress and some others are gone
What do you mean it’s gone it was here yesterday
Yes
Um Don’t you guys make substitutes
Yeah we do
So what’s the fuss about
If anyone sees the clothes the whole show will be ruined
Oh I didn’t think of that
Mrs Alodie thinks it’s one of our rivals in the fashion industry
So what are we going to do
We have to delete any pictures from every social media account before the public sees it I forgot to tell you the main dress doesn’t have a substitute
Why
Because it’s the main dress the core of the show it’s supposed to be a bidding battle
So what are we going to do
We have approximately 4 hours until the show starts everyone needs to help out Mrs Alodie already said she’ll increase your pay
Why though
Some workers called in sick when we told them
I’m happy to help

They successfully talked you into it

It’s like a friendly lunch fine but I just want some coffee
Then we’ll go to Starbucks then

I’ll take a double espresso caramel latte I said
Chai tea latte for me
And a strawberry yogurt scone

We’ll take those to go
Coming right up

Oh my sister goes there
Ok I think we should buy lunch for everyone like um stop by Dunkin donuts or McDonald’s
We can go to Dunkin donuts drive thru

We got iced coffee and some donuts we didn’t know what to get so we got different flavors
We were actually about to order pizza
Guys I’ll be back Michael said
Ok
He came rushing into the room 2 minutes later

Yeah we haven’t joined it yeah so we’re good

I got my pay and I wore the cutest dress ever it was like Mrs Alodie said one of the bestsellers in La Chic it was a de-eper blood red ballroom tulle gown with no shoulders adorned with a ne-cklace,bracelets and earrings with stilettos and beautiful a red rose accessory on my hair which was in a bun

I looked up to see Michael dressed in black tuxedo and a red bow tie

Courtney um I have something to tell you
What
But not here let’s go outside
Ok
He pulled me outside and we sat on a bench
Be fast,my mom will soon be here she doesn’t want me to overstay curfew
Oh ok
So I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to tell you but since this might be the last time I see you I guess I should tell you.
