( My Soup)
For the past few days, Dorris had been busy with her solo debut. Today she is doing an interview and few reporters were around. Toby on the other hand had a lot of girls fans and they are all glad that he is going to debut alone.
Even Guy had fans than her. Things had been awkward between Guy and Dorris since the confession. Dorris could also tell that Guy is trying to create a distance between them though he still greet her and gaze at her warmly. Dorris was kinda glad. It’s all for the best since she had a jealous husband.
Zoe came over.
“Dorris, come on. The interview is starting”, she said.
” Ok, Zoe”
Dorris entered her car. She decided to text Ashley. She will be free tomorrow so she decided to ask if Ashley will have time to teach her how to make some simple dishes.
Dorris__Ash
Ashley__Babe. What’s up?
Dorris__Can I come over?
Ashley__For?
Dorris__Didn’t I say you will teach me how to cook.
Ashley__Come over this evening. I’m making dinner.
Dorris__ok. Thanks.
Dorris is really looking forward to knowing how to cook. She wants to make food for her husband.
She is going to learn how to cook Ray’s favourites first. After all, he is the reason why she want to learn how to cook.
She sent a message to Ray.
Ray was in the office when he saw her text. He dropped the file he is reading.
_I’m sleeping over at Ashley’s. Don’t wait up for me. ??
Ray sigh.
Just like that? Why would a married woman sleep over at a friend’s? Could this mean the friend is more important than he was. That cruel woman. He should not bother to wait up?
He scoffed.
How was he suppose to sleep when he is already used to her presence, warmth and fragrance.
He decided to go to the mansion to meet Miss preya. He gad to continue his cooking clas-ses.
Ashley sigh.
“Leave it, I will just do everything by my self. Just watch”, she told Dorris.
She asked Dorris to watch vegetables and she is asking for a napkin.
She asked her to cut vegetables. The way she handled the knife is very irritating. Ashley wondered why she should be the one to teach Dorris how to cook. Dorris had usually be uninterested in cooking or doing anything in the kitchen. She wondered where the sudden interest came from.
Could it be….
” Dorris, are you learning how to cook because your husband insisted that you have to cook for him?”, Ashley asked while chopping carrots.
Dorris picked a piece of carrot and threw it in her mouth.
“No. I wanted to learn it and surprise him with a meal. You know that saying ‘a….”
“The stomach is the fastest way to a man’s heart?”, Ashley asked.
” Didn’t you know this saying before. You should have learned how to cook long ago. Why are you suddenly interested now?”, Ashley asked.
Dorris rolled her eyes.
“Perhaps, I just believed in the saying now that I’m no longer single” , she said.
She just realised that her man is popular among girls and as the ladies choice, they will try all means to snatch him from her. She can’t stay idle. She must know how to protect her love one.
Ashley scoffed.
“Douglas is really going to tease you if he found out you’re so desperate to learn how to cook”, Ashley told Dorris.
” He should tease me all he wants. I’m going to tease him too by the time he will bring home is girlfriend and she doesn’t know how to cook”, Dorris said.
“That’s not true!”, Ashley exclaimed.
Dorris raise her brow.
” What is not true?”, Dorris asked.
“I mean Douglas girlfriend not knowing how to cook.”
Dorris her brow again.
“You can’t tell you know. She may be a very good cook.”, Ashley added.
She could tell that she is starting to behave suspiciously but she just couldn’t take when Dorris said she didn’t know how to cook_as in Douglas girlfriend.
” Ashley, Ladies this days no longer cook.”, Dorris said.
“There are”, Ashley insisted.
” For a example Me. I know how to cook”, Ashley said.
“Ard you showing off right now?”, Dorris asked.
Ashley just smiled.
” Bring that pot down from fire and put the kettle on fire.”, she told Dorris.
Instead of wearing a kitchen glove or use a rag, Dorris used her ba-re hand to carry the hot pot and dropped the pot on the floor. The dish scattered on the floor.
“My soup!”, Ashley yelled.
Dorris just stare at the soup splatted on the kitchen floor.

Ray was at home that morning when Dorris entered the room, her face sunken.
“What is it?”, Ray asked standing up. Is she not coming from a friend’s? Why this sad expression.
” I’m so sad”, Dorris said and walk pas-s Ray to sit on the a sofa.
Ray followed her.
“Yes, it’s written all over your face”, he said.
” Why? Why can’t I?”, she asked.
Ray is not getting what she is saying.
“Dorris, can we be more direct?”, he asked her.
She shifted on her seat to face him.
” I wanted to learn how to make some dishes so I decided to go to Ashley because she is a very good cook. That’s why I decided to sleep over. We were making dinner and at a point Ashley stopped me from doing anything because I’m not so good. She asked me to just watch her cook…”,
Ray cuts in.
“Aren’t you learning? She should have let you fo it!”, He said trying to curry favour with Dorris.
” You think so too. Then she asked me to take down a pot of soup from the stove. And I did……”, Dorris paused.
“Go on”, Ray told her.
She pouted then.
” And the smell was probably so good that I threw it down?”, he asked.
“I did threw it down but that’s because it is hot”, Dorris said like a cute baby admitting a mistake.
” You didn’t use a glove or a rag?”, he asked her.
“I didn’t know I’m suppose to use it”, Dorris replied.
Ray almost laughed.
Like seriously?
” I think I nee-d to scold Ashley. Isn’t she suppose to tell you?”, he asked.
“She tried to… But ot was too late. I spilled her soup”, Dorris responded.
Then she added.
“Ashley asked me to stop learning how to cook and that if I insisted she knew a good school that teaches high school girls how to cook. She asked me to enrol in that school. She said she couldn’t afford a student like me.”
She started crying then.
“I want to learn how to cook for you. Is it too late or am I so dumb? I can do all chores but knew nothing about the kitchen. Will you leave me because of this?”, she asked.
” I won’t leave you for any reason. Don’t worry about cooking. I’m learning already. I will be in charge of the kitchen. Just stick to the bedroom. Haven’t you heard?”, he asked.
“What?”, she asked him, using the back of her hand to clean her tears.
” The way to a man’s heart is no longer the stomach. It’s three inches below the belly bu-tton.”, Ray said and winked.
Dorris blus-hed.
“I will rather you learn how to handle my little long man down there than handling the kitchen”, Ray added shamelessly.
Dorris had turned pink.
” What are you saying such vulgar words for?”, she asked him.
“Dorris, did you know?”, he asked.
” What?”, she asked.
“You’re pretty when you are blus-hing and when acting cute, you usually turn me on.
My little long man is fully awake now. You have to put him to sleep”, he told her.
Dorris swallowed and blus-hed.
Ray added.
” Since I will be handling the kitchen now, you have to be more pro- active in the bedroom now. Yes or yes?”, he asked her.
Dorris rolled her eyes.
Ray lift her up from the chair in a bridal style and he gave her a ki-ss on the fore head.
“Yes or yes?”, he asked again.
She did not reply and he ki-ssed het cheeks.
He started showering her with ki-sses asking.
” Yes or yes?”
When Dorris couldn’t take it anymore. She muttered a’ yes’
And Ray covered her li-ps with his immediately the three letter words came out of her li-ps.

(Achilles heel)
Of the three artiste that just debuted as solo artiste un-der Rays entertainment, Toby is still the most popular. He is famous among teenagers and he had so many fans.
Naturally, the rival companies seeing how fast he is gaining popularity decided to dig out dirt about him.
Toby woke up to the ringing of his phone.
“This better be something important”, he said as he picked up his phone.
” Toby. Do not come out of your room today. You are all over the news”, Manager Brown voice came from the phone.
“Why?”, Toby asked.
” A scandal “, is all Manager brown said.
” Just stay in.”, the manager added.
“But I will be hungry.”, Toby exclaimed.
” Didn’t you have anything in your fridge? “, the manager asked.
” I didn’t ”
“We will see if we will be able to sneak in food for you. Just stay in”, Manager brown said.
Toby was about to say something when the phone beeped. His manager actually hung up on him. He is starving.
He decided to see what is going on online.
His face sank when he saw the headlines.
Douglas opened the door. He saw a man in suit standing there.
” Good morning “, the man greeted politely.
” Good morning “, Douglas greeted bowing slightly.
” How may I help you”, he asked the stranger.
“I guess you’re Miss Dorris brother?”, the man asked.
” Yes, I am. Is there any problem?”, he asked the man.
“Partner, who is there?”, Louis asked from within wondering what is taking him so long in answering the door.
” I actually want to see your father”, The man in suit said.
Louis sat down after serving the visitor a glas-s of juice.
“So you are?”, Louis asked.
” I’m Mr Dalton secretary. I mean Ray Dalton father”, the man said.
Louis muttered an ‘oh’
“So why the sudden visit?”, he asked.
” Obviously, Mr Dalton sent me.”, the secretary said sipping the jui-ce stylishly. He is obviously enjoying acting big boss.
Douglas was getting curious.
“Can you just go straight to the point?”, he asked.
He had a feeling that this man is up to no good.
The man smiled.
” As expected of youngsters. I am also very busy and the last thing I want is to waste my name here at this stuffy home”, the secretary said.
Douglas is getting offended.
Louis smiled.
“We didn’t invite you to our stuffy home. You are only here because you’re sent by your boss. It seems you don’t know. A messenger will always be a messenger.”, Dorris father said.
” Then I will be straight forward”, the secretary said.
“We would like that”, Louis said.
” You have three days to warn off your daughter. She must stop seeing Ray Dalton. You are actually glad that your daughter married a big shot? You think that in as much as she tied Ray down in marriage, nothing will separate them again? It seems you’ve forgotten that there is a word called divorce. Tell your daughter to divorce my son within three days or you will not like the consequences”,
The secretary smiled.
“That’s what I was asked to say”, he said.
Louis and Douglas were confused. Marriage? What is this man saying? Dorris is already married.
” Why don’t you ask your son to divorce her then? Could it be that you can not even control your own son. Who do you think you’re to order me around. What will you do if I refused to be order around? Three days? What a joke!”, Louis said. Even though he isn’t aware of what is going on, he decided to support his daughter. He is not going to be a push over.
“Tell that to the one who sent you to me”, he added.
The secretary scoffed.
” I un-derstand”, he said and bring out a brief case.
Douglas scoffed. Why is this so familiar? It looks like a scene from a soap opera. He can bet that there is money inside that briefcase.
The man proved him right when he opened the briefcase filled with money.
Louis sigh.
“What an embarras-sment! How can they send a small secretary over to embarras-s me. Tell them to come to me personally if they dare!”, Louis told the secretary.
” Out of my house now!”, he added angrily.
“Are you sure you will not regret this?”, The secretary asked after closing the briefcase.
” Just get out. I feel like puking seeing your ugly face!”, Louis said again.
Douglas was surprised. Their father rarely loose his temper.
The secretary snorted.
“You sure have a lot of pride. But you’ve forgotten that we are proletariat and we are slaves to this bourgeois.”, he said
” Even slaves have standards. I guess you’re of the lowest clas-s. You are practically a dogs to them now. You’re no more a slave. After all, dogs still eat the slaves remnant”, Louis said.
The secretary admitted that this man is surely good at picking his words.
Toby scroll throu-ghthe pictures online, the headlines and comments and his head spurned. How can this be? How can this scandal be dug out when he is at the peak of his career. This is something he knew will be his Achilles heel one day but didn’t know it will be this soon.
Will he be able to make it out of this scandal.
He forgot about food. What is food when his career is at risk?
