MONTHS LATER….
Aliyah’s Pov:
The buzzing sound of the alarm clock woke me up from my de-eper slumber as I ru-bbed my tummy and yawned tiredly.
My stomach was already bulged out.
I ru-bbed my eyes as I gradually took off the blanket that I was using to cover myself.
It was almost 6am and I needed to get to work as soon as possible.
I walked straight to the bathroom still yawning.
I made for my toothbrush on the kit and quickly took it and then took the toothpaste.
I applied the toothpaste on the toothbrush as I started brushing my teeth.
When I was done brushing,,,, I yanked the big nightie off my body as I took a warm shower.
I walked out of the bathroom with a towel tied round my che-st.
And straight in front of the dressing mirror I went and stood right in front of it.
I combed my hair thorou-ghly.
You won’t believe that the once very beautiful Aliyah looks so ugly now with rashes all over my face.
My face was dark now and black sp-ots all over.
Pregnancy can be such a big change in one’s life for sure.
I applied some cream but that was to the part of the body that I can reach.
I made for the wardrobe and three it open.
I kept on bringing out dresses and trying them on but all the same the clothes weren’t fitting.
“Am I that fat?” I mumbled.
Almost all my dresses didn’t fit me anymore.
What do I do now?
I picked up the big gown and wore it.
I didn’t even bother to apply face powder.
I walked down and poured some water into the electric kettle and plugged it then turn it on.
I put on my fli-p-flops with my fat swollen legs.
Before I could get down with my handbag,,, the water was already boiling so I turned off the switch and unplugged it.
I poured out the hot water into a cu-p as I put some milk and chocolate into the cu-p.
And a cube of sugar…..
I stirred the tea again and again before going to the dinning.
I ate hungrily and kept on munching the bread like my life depends on it.
When I was done,,, I cleaned my mouth with a serviette paper and belched noisily.
And that instant,,, I felt like sleeping instead if going to work as supposed.
You might be wondering the kind of work I do.
I work in a fancy flower shop.
I managed to get that job after so many weeks of searching for work.
This city is not an easy place to survive.
By the way I really have to go to work with my baby ok.
I managed to get up from the chair holding my wai-st and groa-ning.
I headed out with my handbag clutched to my arm.
“Good morning Miss Aliyah….” My other slim neighbor greeted as I smiled at her and waved.
“Hi Christy” I for-ced a smile before leaving.
Luckily I saw a cab and flagged it down.
I hopped in and straight to work we went.
Arthur’s Pov:
“What the fu-ck are you talking about Natasha?” I shouted ban-ging my fist on the desk.
“What is there not to un-derstand? It’s very simple and clear Arthur” She screamed back at me.
“I don’t believe this…. I can’t believe this fake piece of paper” I threw the paper away.
“Arthur am pregnant and you are responsible,,,, the earlier you own up to your responsibilities the better for you” She barked at me.
“You are so unbelievable” I snorted.
“I don’t care what you say Arthur…. I am carrying your child so better get ready for a wedding” She smi-rked.
“You lured me into this” I almost screamed.
“And you fell willingly into it without hesitation so now here is the outcome” She rolled her eyes.
“I don’t love you Natasha…. She is the one I love and you made her leave me” I pointed at her with fury.
“She was going to steal you from me and I just took what is truly mine besides I love you Arthur and that’s what matters” She snapped.
“I think you should get rid of that trash you call a baby” I said with a finality tone.
“What?” I freaked out.
“You heard me Natasha… You should get rid of it” I shouted at her.
“She will do no such thing” A voice said from behind and we turned around.
It was my mom.
I gulped ha-rd as I turned my face away.
“I just wish you said this when it was poor Aliyah in her shoes” I muttered.
“Arthur it’s high time you forget about that Aliyah…. I saw it that she’s truly not the one for you but look at Natasha here,,,, she’s been with you throu-ghthick and thin so stop speaking about her” Mom said.
“Arrrghhh… Am fed up with all these happenings” I groa-ned as k walked away.
“You are not ab-orting him my dear” I heard mom say to Natasha.
Aliyah’s Pov:.
I got to the shop early before most of the workers.
Actually the lady who owns the shop grew so fond of me that she made me the manager.
Even with my pot belly ?
“Miss Aliyah the customer wants to see you” One of the girls said as I struggled up from the desk and walked to the counter.
It was a very handsome young man with gla-sses.
“Sir how may I help you?” The man asked.
Actually he has become a regular customer in the flower shop that I wondered what he does with the flowers he keeps buying every week.
His girlfriend must be too fond of flowers.
“Uhmm… I want fresh red roses” He said as I nodded.
He always orders for red roses.
“Okay sir I will get….” I said but then I felt a sharp pain but I pretended.
I tried to walk again then the pain came again sharper than the other and I gave out a loud scream as I fell into the man’s arms……

Aliyah’s Pov:
I fell straight into his arms and he caught me.
The pain was so unbearable…..
“What’s happening to you Miss?” He asked as he stared at me in shock.
“The baby…. The baby…. The baby is coming…. This is just the seventh month” I cried out as he quickly carried me.
I was screaming in pains….
A scene was already created so people came streaming into the shop.
The man carried me into his car and we headed straight to the hospital.
Natasha’s Pov:
“You are so smart Natasha…. This is the best plan so far,,, getting pregnant for him is the best way to for-ce him to marry you” Brenda blew her gum noisily.
I laughed as I catwalked proudly.
“I told you I was going to get him right? There is no freaking way I will let that worthless girl take my boyfriend from me” I proudly replied.
“But you know Arthur doesn’t really love you” Brenda worried.
“He has no choice Brenda than to learn to love me back cos am carrying his child” I rolled my eyes.
“That is very good so what’s next now? What plans is the next?” Brenda asked anxiously.
“Getting married…. Arthur and I will be getting married soon afterall we will graduating from college this year and he doesn’t have anything to worry about because he can start working at the family’s big company” I smiled broadly.
“Am so happy for you girlfriend” Brenda added.
“You should get yourself ready because you are going to be my bridesmaids on that lovely day so get ready” I winked at her as we clinked our gla-sses together.
“Cheers” We chorused.
Arthur’s Pov:
“Dude my life is a mess…. I can’t think straight anymore” I banged my fist on the table.
“You have to calm down Arthur…. Screaming will do you no good so you ought to be very careful” Joel said
“What do you expect me to do? I’ve tried to much to track back where Aliyah must have gone to with my child but to no avail” I cried out.
“You know that will complicate issues the more…. If eventually Aliyah shows up then things will get more difficult” Joel replied.
“I don’t care…. I just want to know how Aliyah is doing of course you know how much I care for her…. And the baby too” I sniffed.
“If am to advise you Arthur… I advise you to face your new life squarely and forget about her…. I mean Aliyah” Joel advised.
“I wish I could” I mumbled.
Aliyah’s Pov;
I opened my weak eyes and looked around.
I was lying on the hospital bed but then I tou-ched my tummy only to find that my stomach wasn’t big anymore.
What happened to me?
I could only remember that the man took me to the hospital but then where is my child?
I quickly je-rked up but then the pains I was feeling in my lower abdomen didn’t let me sit up.
“Nurse where is my baby?” I asked as I looked into the baby bed but I didn’t see any baby in it.
The nurse bowed her head and my heart skipped a beat.
“WHERE’S MY BABY?” I screamed in tears……
