Perfect rejection 2 episode 24

EPISODE TWENTY-FOUR MFYL PR2

“Something is definitely fishy. How was she able to s£nd me a gift and how did Temmy got them? Temmy obviously got some answers to give”.

I asked Temmy about the cloth and he pres£nted me with two boxes. The first one contained a cute blue str!pped well packed shi-t. Of course she knows my taste. The second box contained an alre-ady sown beautiful white and blue patterned lace. She got my size so perfectly as the design at the cloth’s che-st gave me goose bu-mps. A smaller box in the second box contained a pair of black Italian shoe which obviously matched the blue-white lace. She knows blue is my best colour and to be sincere, I missed her a lot at that moment.

I wore the cloth, putting on the “Ofi” (Aso Oke) made “Fila” (Yoru-ba cap) as I look so amazing, checking myself in the mirror. This babe knows me in totality. I put a call throu-gh to her as I obviously could not hold my emotions any longer.

Me: Hello Funmi

Funmi: (Sounding rather tensed) Will, you don’t like it?

Me: Which one of them?

Funmi: You’ve not gotten the cloth?

Me: I have and they look astonishingly great.

Funmi: You like it?

Me: No I don’t like it, I love it. Thanks so much baby.

Funmi: You just call me baby.

Me: Are you not?

Funmi: (Sounding funny) I thought you are still angry with me.

Me: I never was angry. I was just following your decision.

Funmi: Hmm, after all these while

Me: anyway, thanks so much dear, I really appreciate it. I look so great in them, especially the lace.

Funmi: I’m happy you love it.

Me: I don’t know I’ll say this but, I miss you.

Funmi: You did?

Me: Yeah, and I’m sorry I didn’t invite you to the p@rty

Funmi: It’s not your fault, it’s the distance.

Me: Yeah, but if I wanted you to come, I’ll have arranged for it. Don’t worry I’ll make it up to you.

Funmi: I love how that sounds. Will you come to Lagos?

Me: Maybe I’ll come or maybe I’ll bring you over to this place.

Funmi: I’ll love it baby. So are we cool now?

Me: Cool how?

Funmi: You know what I meant. Are we back together?

Me: I have not said that.

Funmi: Common now (with an appealing voice)

Me: Okay, we are cool.

Funmi: (Sighs) At last. All these while Will, it’s not good o.

Me: We’ll talk about us later right?

Funmi: Won’t you say sorry?

Me: Oh, I’m sorry baby

Funmi: Do you mean it?

Me: Yeah, I mean it. I’m sorry.

Funmi: Thanks baby, I love you so much.

Me: Hmm, you know my answer

Funmi: No I don’t. I’ve not heard it for over six months

Me: Really? Are you that hungry to hear it?

Funmi: I’ve been longing for it all this while

Me: (Laughing)

Funmi: Why are you laughing now (with appealing voice)

Me: I love you Funmilola.

“Yeah I just said that. I did love her but was not sure of whom she was anymore. Was it that I am sure now? No, I can’t bear to see her hurt anymore.

I almost left the cloth on as it look so sweet on me.

Rachael: Oh my God! (They dash into the room). Will, you look so great.

Uche: You are getting me confused again (we all laughed). Will, you must buy mine.

Temmy: You will have to tell that to the buyer anyway. Will, off this cloth and let’s check on what’s up in the hall

Rachael: Aunty Joy is waiting for you in the sitting room.

Aunty Joy was looking rather sad as I met her in the sitting room glued to her phone.

Me: Aunty Joy what’s wrong?

Joy: Happy birthday my baby (She stood up and gave me a pas-sionate hvg)

Me: Thanks ma. We can talk right?

Joy: Can it pas-s?

Me: No, I nee-d your joyous self, especially today. Don’t forget all these things are your hand work.

I took her out of the sitting room as we both sit in her car

Me: Tell me what’s wrong?

Joy: It’s your Uncle, he’s been acting strange since yesterday and he won’t talk to me.

Me: Since yesterday?

Joy: Yeah, he refused to call or pick my calls.

Me: Is this the first time he’ll act like that?

Joy: No, whenever he’s sad and moody, it has become norm for him. But he has revealed his problems to me and mine to him. We were both happy, so I don’t un-derstand where this one is coming from.

Me: (I s-en-sed he was faking this behavior judging by all he bought for her this morning and how happy he was buying them) Maybe he’s going throu-gh stuffs.

Joy: He should be telling me when he’s going throu-gh any bad situations, not just the good ones. He’s giving me emotional trauma with his attitude.

Me: You’ll have to be happy still. Don’t let his actions get to you. Your positive reaction might bring him out of his moody state. I nee-d both of you to be happy today or I won’t appear at that p@rty.

Joy: common I am Happy. You don’t have to do that dear, it’ll hurt him.

Me: It’s hurting me seeing you like this.

Joy: I’m sorry dear. I promise you my countenance will change (She f0rç£d a smile)

Me: Promise?

Joy: Yes I promise.

Me: Better, or you won’t see me at the p@rty.

Joy: Don’t say that again, I’m happy alre-ady (we both laughed)

Her countenance did change after our short conversation and this made me love her more. She’s a selfless personality who put others happiness ahead of hers. I’m very sure Uncle Ben was pla-ying prank on her but he shouldn’t take it too far as I’m not glad she’s not happy.

Some minutes to the start of the p@rty, it all turned I had little clue about the p@rty as many faces especially that of our fellow corps members who I’m sure I did not invite, started trooping in en mas-s. Our LI was not excluded as she accused me of not telling her.

LI: You this boy, where is Temmy? (with her Niger-Delta intonation)

Temmy: I’m here, good evening ma.

LI: Don’t good evening me, both of you are in soup. You did not even bother to invite me here.

Temmy: We invited everyb©dy ma and you are here alre-ady (We both laugh while she fakes seriousness)

LI: Am I everyb©dy? It was your Uncle that told me yesterday and I was telling him you did not mention it. I will query both of you.

Me: Don’t worry ma, we’ll make it up to you.

LI: You better, anyway I trust both of you, you won’t disappoint.

Temmy: Disappoint ke, we don’t want extension now. (We all laughed)

Our Li (Local inspector) is a nice woman; however the only language she un-derstands is money and gifts. She knows we’ll surely give her something as we normally do every clearance day and some CDS days.

The p@rty was set and I could tell you I don’t know 70% of people in attendance. There are some big personnel who c@m£ with police esc-rts and I was really amazed. Aunty Joy who was trying to usher me to my sit notice the surprise on my face.

Joy: Why are you surprised?

Me: I don’t know 70% of people here.

Joy: That’s what you get when your uncle is the highest shareholder of a rich company. You nee-d to sit now, the program has started.

The p@rty was so t©p clas-s I was wondering if it was really my birthday or something else. I sat on a round table flanked by Temmy, Rachael and Uche. A sit was empty by my right side. Next to our table is Uncle Ben, flanked by Aunty Joy, two t©p officials of the company and one of the prominent men that c@m£ with police esc-rt. I’m sure he’s a politician. Sincerely I don’t recognize majority of others on the so called VIP seats.

The MC was a well-known comedian and he started the p@rty well, ma-king everyb©dy laugh while the DJ was accompanying him with soft music just as I love it. I’m sure that’s the handwork of Temmy, he’s the only one that knows my style of music ap@rt from Funmi. The MC called up people to talk about me, a colleague at work, Temmy, Aunty Joy and finally my Uncle. It was my Uncle’s speech that turned the whole place emotional as he talks about his lost brothers.

Ben: William Opeyemi Albert, my nephew is not just an Albert but a super one. If you are very close to him and you know my father, then you’ll agree they have exactly same character even though my father pas-sed on while we were very young. Opeyemi is the symbol of the Albert family as he joins me as the second male Albert living. Although he’s my nephew yet I announce today, I’m adopting him totally as my son. Therefore, William Opeyemi Albert is an heir to this great company of ours. (There was applause from people as I was totally surprise. I never expect him to say that, not openly)

Ben: Happy birthday to you my boy, you are a blessing to me beyond what you could imagine. I wish your mother and Deborah are here, but don’t worry, next time the whole family will be together. God bless you son.

He left the podium as I went to him and gave him a pas-sionate hvg. After these testimonies, the p@rty gear shifts as people were now eating and drinking while some were dancing.

I sat down there alone at the table as Temmy was alre-ady dancing with Rachael and Uche with her new b©yfri£nd. I’m sure she invited him. At this point I really miss Funmi or at least Aramide. After a while, Uncle Ben c@m£ and whisper to me “it’s time”. I in turn called on Temmy as we whisper to the MC and DJ to bring all dancing to a halt. After everyb©dy had located their seat, Temmy and I took to the podium and started eulogizing Aunty Joy. I took the last speech but I spoke more of Funmi than I did Aunty Joy.

Me: I’m sorry I speak more of someb©dy I love so much and wish is here. This is because Aunty Joy always makes me remember what love look like. I’ll like to tell everyb©dy that as from this moment onward, this p@rty has upgraded to my Uncle’s engagement p@rty.

There was a great surprise on Aunty Joy’s face as Uncle Ben went on his knee pres£nting her with the engagement ring

Me: Aunty Joy, plea-se marry my Uncle.

After her show of surprise and blu-shing, she said yes, took the ring, put it on and hvgged Uncle Ben affectionately to everyb©dy’s delighted applause. I was so happy to finally see them cement their love and I can’t wait for them to get married alre-ady.

The MC took the microphone and draws everyb©dy’s attention, saying one more person will love to talk about me. Looking towards the stage seeing the person walking down to collect the microphone, I was totally amazed as I open my mouth and could not close it.

EPISODE TWENTY-FIVE MFYL PR2

I chose not to describe her as usual this time around; because I don’t un-derstand why I get stunned every time she appears like this. I admit I missed her a lot but she looks prettier than the last time I set my eye on her. Drawing me totally in the pool of love and emotion was her choice of dress that very moment. I’m very sure she has been planning for the day for a very long time. She took on the microphone and started speaking to everyone’s expectant hearing.

Funmi: It was one of those embarras-sing moment last year, I was having my visitor and it c@m£ during a p@rty. Unfortunately the protector got leaked and I was obviously stained all over my adored dress. I felt so embarras-sed I couldn’t continue the p@rty with my friends. I had to isolate myself in a place where I was sure nob©dy will see me. I was waiting for the night to get darker so I could hide the stains in the darkness of the night while going home. But I waited too long as the night got too dark and quiet I couldn’t go home alone, any longer. There c@m£ this angel in form of a man, dressed casually, probably to catch fresh air. He c@m£ to me and insisted on helping me even thought I rejected his offer.

Funmi: One sweet thing about him is how quic-kly he forgives. Baby you’ve got a heart of gold. I know so many things went against us and goof up big time. I don’t even deserve to be your friend but you’ve always cared for me. How you manage to keep your feelings inside, for all these months is really alien o me, because I know you’ve always love me. Hearing you talking about me while talking about your Uncle’s fiancée scatters me in an explosion of love for you. I love you too baby and I promise never to misuse this second opportunity I have. I’ll stick with you forever my baby and I don’t pray death separate us. I love you so much William, Happy birthday to you “Ifemi”.

The whole crowd went into cheering at her remarks as I stood to meet her on the stage. Getting very close to her I discovered we were wearing the same cloth style. The bluish light on the stage made it confusing earlier. She actually bought that lace for both of us.

I went up to her, gave her a pas-sionate hvg and k!ssher on thel-ips for the very first time in public as people responded with applause. I picked up the microphone to reply her words.

Me: I’m very sorry for how I’ve hurt you this six month plus. To be sincere, I was de-eply hurt by what I saw then and I felt letting you go would heal my heart. How wrong? Each day that pas-ses, I kept realizing I’ve alre-ady built my world around you. Baby it’s you or nob©dy else. You are my heart and my de-sire and I love you to the moon and back.

She was smiling as I pu-ll-ed back a little from her and went on my knees. The whole crowd went “AWE” as she covers her mouth with her hands. I didn’t know why I brou-ght it to the p@rty but I was so sure that was the right time to use it. I pu-ll-ed out the ring case, opened it, and pres£nted to her while I was on my knees.

Me: I know I’ve asked you this once, but I couldn’t afford a ring then even if I wanted to get one. I bought this ring this morning, when my uncle bought his, even though I don’t know what to do with it, but now I know. Even though I didn’t know you’ll be coming down to this place because of me, I guess my heart has always known. Oluwafunmilola, will you plea-se do me the favour of being my better half?

Funmi: (Removing her hand from her mouth while smiling and blu-shing at the same time). William, My heart, I had a dream you proposed to me, like a thousand times and I said yes to every one of them. YES BABY I’LL MARRY YOU!

I rose up to her and k!$$£d her again, I picked the microphone, to introduce her to Uncle Ben.

Me: Uncle, or should I say Daddy, since you have adopted me. This is Funmilola, my heart de-sire.

Everyb©dy gave a round of applause as the D.J pla-yed the music to beautify the moment. I took Funmilola to uncle Ben and he hvgged her. I was surprised how much love shown to her and I can only hope my mum would do the same when she meets her because I’ve finally decided.

The day went as planned, or not as entirely planned, I was actually surprised to see Funmi but I was very happy she was there. I’ve been living in denial that I don’t love her anymore, but I’m happy to have finally come out of my delusional state.
The p@rty was almost over when a woman entered. She looked so much like uncle Ben, she was welcomed by uncle Ben who was introducing his fiancée aunty Joy to her. I left my gaze off her as I concentrated on the pictures Funmi was showing me on her notepad. We looked like an alre-ady married couple since we were wearing the same outfit.

Funmi: Baby, I don’t think we’ll nee-d any pre-wedding sh0ts again. These are enough.

Me: Wasn’t planning of having one before, I’ll only do it if you wanted to.

Funmi: Really?

Me: Yeah, I don’t really fall for pre-wedding picture stuff.

Funmi: It’s fun dear but we can pas-s it.

Me: Then I’m happy to hear that.

Funmi: I’m really happy to see you Will.

Me: I’m most happy to see you, I’m sure Temmy’s hand is in your coming here.

Funmi: Yeah, and Uche.

Me: Irony of life, since when did you and Uche become close pals.

Funmi: Actually I don’t really trust her, that’s why I made her my friend.
Me: You made someb©dy you don’t trust your friend.

Funmi: It’s you I don’t trust her with, it’s more like asking the cat to watch over the fish. It will be difficult for it to steal the fish.

Me: You think so?

Funmi: Yeah, she’s human not cat, so she’ll have some conscience.

Me: What if you were wrong?

Funmi: I’m prepared for that. Funny she’s been looking at us since.

Me: Hmmm, she’s my friend though and she now has her own man.

Funmi: Really, that’s what she told you?

Me: I met the guy at her ap@rtment.

Funmi: She doesn’t like the guy that much.

Me: Oh, you’re indeed close.

Funmi: Speaking of staring your uncle’s visitor’s eye has been on you for more than 10mins now.

Me: Really? (I tried to look at her side)

Funmi: (She blocked me) Don’t do that, she’ll know we are talking about her. She looks like your uncle though.

Me: She’s definitely father’s twin.

Funmi: Your father is a twin?

Me: Yeah, that’s what my mother told me.

Funmi: You think that’s true?

Me: Yeah, according to my mother.

Funmi: Wow! I’ll love to have a twin, will you do that for me?

Me: Am I God? Come on, I’ll love to have a twin too, don’t forget I’m one, so maybe, just maybe we will have one.

Funmi: Two girls.

Me: A boy and a girl.

Funmi:No I want two girls.

Me: Alright God is listening, keep praying.

Funmi: Will, there’s a question I will like to ask you. What will you do if my father rejects our relationsh!p?

Me: Is he going to?

Funmi: I don’t know. But he kept trying to push me to people he wants.

Me:People like?

Funmi:Like Fred.

Me:What? Your father was the one that pitched you with Fred?

Funmi:Yes he did it, indirectly though.

Me: During the camp time?

Funmi: No,we have known each other before then, before I met you.

Me: Really?

Funmi: Yes, he relaxed on it for some time but he has increa-sed the pressure since that camp period.
Me: But he didn’t f0rç£ you to accept his proposal.

Funmi: Will, I didn’t know what I was doing that time.

Me: Hmm, so what do we do about it.

Funmi: I don’t know, I’m scared. Maybe we should run away after service.

Me: (smiles), run to where? Don’t worry, time will heal everything. With time your dad will get used to us together.

Funmi: Are you sure?

Me: Yeah, I think it’s time I meet your dad.

Funmi: That’s not adviceable, he alre-ady told me I shouldn’t discuss anything related to such with him.

Me: Then let it be.

Funmi: Fred is another problem.

Me: How is he a problem?.

Funmi: He disturbs me and I don’t trust him

Me: Trust him how?

Funmi: He threatened to kidnap and r@p£ me.

Me: What?

Funmi: Yes he said he would make me pregnant for him and make sure I deliver his second baby.

Me: He has a baby alre-ady?

Funmi: Yes, he R@p£d the lady too.

Me: Wait! Is the guy that powerful?

Funmi: You know his father is one of the P.A to the governor.

Me: And so?

Funmi: He does as he likes.

Me: Then lets report to the police.

Funmi: No I don’t want you involved. Besides, police are in their pocket

Me: It’s ok, I think you’ll have to apply wisdom in dealing with him.
Funmi: Will, I am going to change my line.

Me: It’s better that way. When are you leaving?

Funmi: Are you chasing me?

Me: Of course not, there is a room for you alre-ady

Funmi: Really?

Me: Yeah

Funmi: Cool, then I’ll stay one week

Me: Cool with me, though I prefer two weeks

Funmi: Oliver twist (We both laughed as Temmy interrupted our discussion)

Temmy: Will, where is your phone?

Me: In my pocket, what’s up?

Temmy: Vera has been calling you since

Me: Oh, she called you?

Temmy: Yeah, there is a problem

Me: What’s it?

Temmy: Guy, Aramide has been kidnapped

Me/Funmi: What?
