Episode 64

Gemma dropped her bag on the couch and smile as she look around.
“It’s so beautiful here,” she said while Lorenzo nodded. Immediately after work she followed him to his house.
“You left without telling me,” she said
“I never want to disturb you and I thought you’re still avoiding me, “he said.
” That’s a lame excuse Lorenzo. Haven’t I waited for long.. you know I will never get angry at you for long,” she pout as she moved closer and held his hands.
” Are you still holding unto that girl, your ex.. it’s been years already Enzo. You said it yourself that she left, she choose someone else and right to your face she got married to the same man that nearly killed you. Isn’t that enough reason for you to forget about her and moved on, ” Gemma asked so worried.
” She’s my past Gemma..
“If she’s truly your past then why did you come back to manila, ”
” It’s because of two things and that’s work and secondly to have my revenge on my killers, ” he said.
” I love you Lorenzo… Please give us a chance this time to love each other, ” Gemma press her soft li-ps on his as he reciprocate to it.
” I love you too Gemma,” he spoke softly when they broke the ki-ss.
“You’re right! I have stayed in the past for too long, I deserve to be happy too and am glad I’ve found you, someone who will love me for me and not for my money, someone who will love me and will never leave,” he said softly while Gemma stare intently at him. This the happiest moment of her life, it’s a dream come true and her dad will be so happy to hear this.

Lorenzo step out of the bedroom with a towel wrapped around his waist, he looked at the bed and Gemma was already asleep, he smile as he watch her sleep innocently.
She have loved him for long and he knows this must be the happiest moment of her life, he wished he meet her first, he wished he took a different direction in life and have never meet any of the Montes.
“A selfless and pure love. The love I never got from the one my heart was dear too. Indeed where there’s Love there’s Pain,” he said staring at Gemma.
” they say Life does not give us what we deserves but what we fight for.. Life is so unfair then because even till the very end I fought to be with Nadine but It failed, I felt like a failure,” he thought.
Thinking of how he even escaped the fire.. was the night he would never forget in his entire life.

“This is Dante, Noah and Ramon,” Pinna Introduced him to them. That was during one of her visit to California where he study’s.
“This are my business a-ssociate and you’re the only one that knows them in my family. I will like you to handle the restaurant I have here and that’s why I want you to stay back here with them after your graduation from school,” Pinna Said.
” But mom.. I don’t know these people,”Lorenzo said.
” I know them and that’s why I want you to stay over here because here will create more opportunity for you even after school. Aren’t you tired of what Austin and my husband are putting you throu-gh. I want the best for you Enzo and I know what am saying because I know my son and husband too well,” she enthused.
” It’s okay mom, you know the best,” he said.
And from there even before Lorenzo graduate, Pinna died and that discouraged him from staying back in the U.S with those people after school.
He came back home mainly for two reasons, he still thinks he have a family to come back to and that’s Austin and Adams but he was mistaken. Life only got worst with those people in his life and he came back for Nadine too, to win her over.

One of the devastating moment for Lorenzo was when Nadine got married to Leonard and even after calling her that same wedding night she rejected him again. Her decision of marrying Leonard was indeed final.
“On one will ever gonna love you, no one at all,”*** Austin voice echoed in his mind. All Lorenzo could feel that day was anger, pains and brokenness. The thought of Nadine getting married to someone else was driving him crazy and the fact that she clearly rejected him broke him the more.
“Only I… will love you Nadine,” he muttered to himself, as he blink back the tears in his eyes. He wondered why everyone was happy that he didn’t finally end up with Nadine. It’s the world against him now alone and even Nadine the woman he has always loved was no longer on his side.
He went throu-ghhis shelves and found the book Mrs Pinna once gave him which contains the contact of those people she once mentioned to him.
He called them immediately and he felt relief when one of them picked.
????” I have nothing to live for here. I want to go back to U.S, to start afresh and build myself just as mom Pinna always wanted,” he said .
????This the call we’ve been waiting for Lorenzo. Just because Pinna isn’t alive doesn’t mean we will leave you, no! She has keep a lot of things for you and once you’ve come back here to us your life will changed drastically,” a man replied on the phone.

????” I will sent Mr. Charles to process everything and bring you here. Just sent us your current address,” he spoke….
And that was how Lorenzo start communicating with them.

That night when Amber came and he chase her away. Shortly after, Leonard and Austin barged into his studio.
Amber who was outside saw how they all entered but they didn’t see her so she was curious to know what exactly was happening. On following them Inside, she hide and eavesdrop on their conservation as she quickly snap them pictures quietly on her phone. The time when Leonard was pointing a gun at him and when Austin was pulling out his gun to shoot Lorenzo. Everything was so scary for her as she quickly forward the pictures to Lorenzo on WhatsApp if in case anything should happen to her or her phone. She quietly went outside and step out to call the police, but before she could even finish the call Leonard and Austin came out and caught her.
“Finish her before she expose us,” that was Leonard last words and before she could realised someone shot her to death.
⏩ The house was on fire with Lorenzo inside. He was bleeding so bad from the gunshots wound.
Thinking of how miserable his life was Lorenzo wanted to live, he managed to crawl out in the midst of the feiry place until two people quickly came in and help him but unfortunately the fire was getting serious and a burning wood from the ceiling fell on one of the man, the other guy quickly dragged Lorenzo’s lifeless body throu-ghthe other door, it was too late to save the other guy, by then people from the neighborhood has start trooping in and even the police that Amber called has arrived. The guy quickly put Lorenzo in the car that night and zoomed off with him….

“Is he gonna live? Dante asked the doctor.
” He has lose a lot of blood. The fire and smoke has affected him a lot. He have a slim chance of surviving but we will do our best,” he said while Dante nodded as he sat down on the bench.
” If only he listens to Pinna and stayed back here earlier,” Dante said.
” I lost one of my men in the fire and from the report from there, many people thought it was Lorenzo that died due to the burnt body they saw. If only we waste a few seconds in getting him then he would have been a dead man by now,” Charles said sadly.
” I saw this on his phone,” Dante said as he showed Charles one of the message he saw on Lorenzo’s phone.
When he was rushed to the hospital, his phone which was in his trouser pocket was handed to Dante.
“This picture says it all,” Charles said as he stares at it.
“Am sure Lorenzo know them,”

Days turn to weeks, weeks to months. Lorenzo was out of Coma after a month and his treatment was going on fine.
Mr. Dante make sure everything is going on fine until Lorenzo fully recovered after five months.

“Mrs. Pinna had so many plans for you but you were so stubborn you didn’t stay back after your graduation,” Dante said.
” That’s because she pa-ssed away and I was scared of staying back because I hardly know you people and I thought home will always be the best,” Lorenzo said sadly.
” Home! Do you even have a home to talk of? Aren’t you the poor orphan she adopted? Which home are you talking about? Is it Austin and his dad” Dante laughed sarcastically.
” The greatest mistake you make is seeing yourself as part of Austin’s family, he will never regard you as his family. Pinna knew so well and that’s why she wanted to give you the best,” Ramon said while Lorenzo nodded.
” This your new home now Lorenzo because great opportunities awaits someone just as great as you are” Dante said with an open arms.
” Thank you for saving me. I thought I was just gonna died miserable in that fire just the same way my parents were killed,” Lorenzo said bitterly.
” If you want revenge we will help you have that,” Ramon said.
” That’s exactly what I want, to make everyone pay for what they did to me starting from Austin, then Leonard and even Nadine and her family. They all treat me as a gabbage, she left without thinking twice, I was just easily replaced with my killer,” Lorenzo yelled in rage, all he could feel was so much anger and bitterness.
“This explains it all,” Dante said as he hand him his phone.
” I found this in your phone,”
Lorenzo was shocked to see the picture on his phone, it was sent by Amber that evening when the incident was happening. He remembered chasing her, wondering how she get to snap that.
“This a good evidence then. Am going back to Phili-ppines next week. Am going back to sue Austin and Leonard and I will take back Nadine ,” Lorenzo said.
“That will be so foolish! Those people will still hunt you down and kill you. You aren’t going back there as the poor Lorenzo they all knew. You aren’t going back there now. You have to build yourself, your empire just as how Pinna always wanted, you are going back there in a grand style to shock your enemies and deal with them because by then you will have the power and resources to crippled them down and as for that woman Nadine forget about her. You’ll never go far if you’re still stuck in her love. Women will always be women. I want you to go back there as Ethan Harris Oliveris,” Dante said.
” Dad..,” Gemma walked in excited but stopped when she saw the people around. For a while she stopped on her track when her eyes meet with Lorenzo.
Gemma was amazed as she kept staring at him even thou he had an angry look Gemma still find him so handsome and se-xy.
“Gemma,” Dante called.
“Seems you’re busy! Who is this ? She asked referring to Lorenzo.
“His Lorenzo. Late Mrs Pinna adopted son. He’s here to stay with us,” Dante Introduced.
” And Lorenzo meet Gemma my only daughter,” he said while Lorenzo just nodded.

Lorenzo kept the Punching bag steady as he Punch it as if his life depends on.
Gemma who was pa-ssing by stopped and saw him there, she gasped when she saw that he was shirtless, his broad shoulders, eight packs and mascular chest were literally glaring at her.
Gemma smile as she kept drooling at his body lost in her fantasy.
“What are you doing? Lorenzo asked bringing her out of her thoughts.
” To talk to you! You’ve been in this mansion for a while but I have never seen you smile or even talk to me ,” Gemma wondered.
” And how is that your business? He asked icily.
” Ouch! That was harsh! Am only concern about you and each time I want to get close, you withdraw back You always want to be alone,” she said.
” Yes, I want to be alone because I don’t want betrayals again,” he spoke.
” You’re in a totally different world Lorenzo. This is California, a new environment with new people around. Just loosen up a bit and get to know people around. My dad trust you because he trusted Mrs Pinna, she was a very good friend to him and also a business a-ssociate. I will admit you’re so handsome and I sometimes wonder how handsome you will be if you can add a beautiful smile to your face” Gemma smile while Lorenzo shook his head and walked out.
“Hmm, so tough right! I know how to get you,” Gemma thought. Starting from the first day she first saw him she knew it was love at first and seems like his heart is already harden.

“I said I want it red but you paint it Black,” Gemma yelled in frustration.
“I prefer it this way and you look amazingly gorgeous,” Lorenzo smile as he kept painting the picture of her.
“It beautiful anyway,” she smile staring at Lorenzo. She wonder how they even get this close within those years especially after she came back from school and now she’s focusing on her modelling career. She hoped, she have make Lorenzo healed and he will get to love again and forget about the past.
“That reminds me.. Happy birthday,” Gemma said so excited.
” My birthday? Lorenzo asked.
“Sure, you told me that since last week. You forgot your birthday? How unserious you can be atimes,” Gemma shook her head.
” I didn’t forget that but I just don’t celebrate my birthdays,” he said.
” Why?
“Does it have to be with reasons?
” Or maybe you haven’t forgotten the past. Am I not enough for you Enzo? Gemma asked sadly, she wished Lorenzo will one day sees her just the way she always sees him and perhaps love her too.
“Isn’t everything obvious to you Enzo, isn’t it obvious that I love you but you never for once reciprocate to that feeling,” Gemma said sadly.
” Am happy having you as a friend Gemma and I will forever be grateful to you for changing my views and perspective about life. But I don’t want to end up hurting you. I owe Mr. Dante my life and I don’t want to end up being the bad guy by hurting his daughter,”…
Gemma stood up angrily and slapped Lorenzo.
” I knew you will always give lame excuses. Maybe you haven’t forgotten your so called ex girlfriend who left you for another man. Move on Lorenzo, be a man and moved on for once,” Gemma yelled in anger as tears flowed down her cheeks.

Lorenzo choose to remain focus as he keep exploring and establishing more in his business. He thrive ha-rd to do everything and make sure he follows whatever advise Dante has been giving him.

“You and Gemma aren’t in good terms again? Noah asked Lorenzo at the office the other time.
“She got angry..,” Lorenzo sighed.
“It obvious she likes you so much, she always talk about you,” Noah said.
” I don’t want to end up hurting her,”
“Why? Isn’t she good? Or are you still holding unto to your married ex girlfriend? Noah asked sarcastically.
“The heart knows where it belongs. I can’t erase Nadine from my mind, heart and my head. Thou we are apart but we’ve got a de-ep heart connection that will never be inseparable. I want to hate her, I want to forget her but I couldn’t and I don’t want Gemma to be in the midst of all these, she might end up disappointed and hurt, ” Lorenzo said.
Gemma who was at the door wanted to enter but stopped when she heard Lorenzo’s and Noah voice, she eavesdrop on their conversation.
“She’s married already and to worst it all to your killer and she have a family already, you said it yourself. She’s married with a son for your killer,” Noah said while Lorenzo stood up.
” that’s the more reason I want to be alone and I hope Gemma will understand,” he said while Gemma quickly ran out in tears.
” It obvious he can’t forget about her,” Gemma said so furious.
” How lucky she was but stupid enough to let him go” Gemma said in rage.
Ever since that incidence Gemma return back to Colorado to continue with her modelling career perhaps she can forget about Lorenzo for good. She thought.

Lorenzo was already dressed for work.
“Tonight is gonna be a big day and I want you by my side, ” he said.
” This a dream come true Lorenzo,” Gemma smiled.
“So am I now officially your girlfriend? Should we tell Dad about it? Gemma asked so excited.
“We will make it official to the public tonight during the party,” he said.
” You’re mine now Gemma,” he said staring intently at her as he pulled her closer and slam his li-ps on hers.
He broke the ki-ss and smiled at her.
“you’ve never given up on loving me and I will never give up on you too Gem,” he said ki-ssing the tip of her nose then to her forehead.
Gemma wrapped her hands around his wa-istand placed her head on his chest.
“You complete me Lorenzo and i will never let you sli-p out of my hands,” She smile widely…
