“Are you sure you want to do this? Ca-ssie asked Nadine when they stopped in front of the house.
Nadine knew it wasn’t safe for her to be alone with Leonard so she ask Ca-ssie to follow her there.
“I don’t want to add more to his pains, I don’t want to be the reason for anyone death.., ”
” Come one Nadine, stop being too soft on someone who nearly killed you. If I had let my emotions get the best of me I wouldn’t have take my revenge on Audrey and Kamil. Am sure you know how it all happened, ” Ca-ssie said.
” Am not as strong as you Ca-ssie.. am just too weak and emotionally drain to even think of the right think to do, am getting fed up with life itself, ”
” And we are always here for you Nadine. It’s time to tell Leonard to quit and forget about you, tell him your mind, ” Ca-ssie said .
” But how will I tell him Eric isn’t his biological son, ” Nadine said while Ca-ssie looked at her surprised.
” Eric isn’t his biological son? She asked again.
” Yes, ” Nadine nodded.
“I kept this secret for a long and I haven’t told anyone not even mom or Miguel. You’re the first person to hear this Ca-ssie. I want to spill out the whole truth to everyone but am only scared of how Leon would react too, he’s used to Eric, how will he feel if I tell him Eric isn’t his real son but the son of the one he hate so much.. what if he comes after my life or try to hurt Eric. I don’t want to endanger my son’s life, ” Nadine burst into tears.
Ca-ssie pulled her into a hug trying to figure out what she meant. She knows Nadine is going throu-gha lot and she need all the care and love she deserves.
“Who is the real father of Eric ? Ca-ssie asked while Nadine sniffled and wipe her tears with her hand.
“It’s Lorenzo, my ex lover. I got married to Leonard when I was just few weeks pregnant with Eric. I never told anyone not even Lorenzo. I kept it a secret because I was scared, I was scared of what dad would say, I was scared of what Miguel would say, they will be all disappointed in me to think I cheaply threw myself to Lorenzo. I was just so confused and it happens that Lorenzo later died, he died the day I wanted to tell him about the pregnancy. My dreams were shattered and i have to stay with Leonard thinking he would be a good father to Eric,” Nadine cried.
” It’s okay Nadine.. You did what you think was right at that time and to be honest with you I feel so relief that Leonard isn’t the father of Eric which means you both have nothing to hold onto. Quit the marriage and walk away with your son,” Ca-ssie enthused.
” It okay Ca-ssie, I have to go now,” Nadine open the door and step out of the car.
” Am going in with you,” Ca-ssie suggested.
“No.. this just me and Leonard you can wait for me here” Nadine said.
” Take care Nadine and calm yourself down, tell him the whole truth. I handle people like Kamil and Audrey so Leonard is not an exception,” she said.
Nadine step inside the house to meet Leonard.

⏩ “What is taking her so long? Ca-ssie thought as she step out of the car, hearing some noises inside she quickly rushed in and was shocked to see Leonard trying to force himself on Nadine.
“Leon! Ca-ssie pull him off her and kicked him in between his legs.
” Argg,” Leonard gro-an as he fall to the ground.
“She’s my wife, you have no right to stop me,” he yelled while Ca-ssie gave him a heavy slap across his cheeks.
” You’re just a fool Leonard, the earlier you realize you have no one at all the better for you. Eric isn’t your son, his not your biological son but Lorenzo’s son in case Nadine haven’t told you that hear that from me,” she yelled back at him while he laughed.
“You think you can deceive me?” he laugh sarcastically.
” Get that into your fu-cking skull. You are just a failure Leon. Nadine doesn’t love you and Eric isn’t your son but Lorenzo’s. She got married to you when she was few weeks pregnant with Eric you fool,” Ca-ssie blast at him as she helped Nadine and take her back to the car before zooming off.

“Nadine.. my dear! I’ve warned you not to go to him again. If he choose to kill himself then fine let him die,” Julianna said.
” He almost ra-ped me, if Ca-ssie hasn’t come to my rescue on time i don’t know what I would have done,” Nadine whimpered.
” He have to pay for this.. ,” Josie said so angry.
“If you haven’t pressure me on getting married to Leonard, all these wouldn’t have happened, you all thought Leonard was better than Lorenzo but am sure the difference is very clear to you now. If it was Lorenzo he would never hurt me this way,”
” I know I contributed a lot to whatever that is happening and am regretting everything now, please Nadine am sorry about this. I won’t let Leonard hurt you this way again,” Josie said so sorry.
” We didn’t trust Lorenzo, we all thought he was the bad guy. Nadine it’s all over now. Leonard will pay for every single thing he did to you,” Miguel said sadly.
” And to cut the long story short Leonard isn’t the biological father of Eric,” she spill out.
” What!
“Yes Mom,” Nadine said.
“Who is the father then? Miguel asked.
“It’s Lorenzo,” she said while they were all quiet.
” Lorenzo.. but how did it all happened? Julianna asked.
” You never told anyone?
“I never did because of the pressure around. I had to get married to Leonard that way when I was just few weeks pregnant with Eric. I had no one to confide in, I kept everything a secret to myself since Lorenzo was dead,” she cried.
” It’s okay Nadine,” Miguel hug-ged her.
” Atleast it isn’t Leonard and from now henceforth he’s not allow to come near you nor Eric. Everything will gonna be fine,” he cooed.
Josie just stood in surprised. He realized how selfish he was to deprived Nadine of her happiness, he knew how much she loved Lorenzo back then but he was the big obstacle that stood on their way, he never like Lorenzo for no good reasons and he literally forced her into getting married to Leonard. Indeed her and Leonard weren’t made to be after all, the marriage crashed and it leaving his daughter with so much scars and pains. If only he knew, he would have gladly accepted Lorenzo who would love and cherished his daughter and not Leonard who pretended all this while.

Ca-ssie stood at the balcony gazing at the stars with so many thoughts running throu-ghher mind.
“Love,” Miguel called as he stood beside her.
“Were are the kids? He asked.
” Already asleep,” she said.
“You look troubled?
” Of course am troubled. I wonder why Nadine will have to marry that monster in the first place. She’s really going throu-gha lot,” she said sadly.
” I somehow felt at peace when she told us Eric is isn’t Leon son. Atleast he have nothing to hold unto and if he dares shows his face claiming to see Eric he will regret ever knowing us,” Miguel said.
” Now I know the reason why Nadine told me all her life has been battles upon battles, she couldn’t make any decisions for herself. Atleast I was allowed to make decision for myself which make me ended up in Kamil’s and Audrey’s den but I still came out of it alive, if only she married her ex lover! too bad he’s even dead without getting the chance to know he have a son,”
” The three of us grew up as best of friends, I, Nadine and Austin and when Lorenzo was adopted i also liked him and wanted him to be part of us but everything changed when I lost Dianne. I don’t know what actually happened that evening but Austin told me it was Lorenzo that pushed her off the bridge. That’s when my anger towards him started. I thought he was the one that killed Dianne, I was just so foolish then and I never liked him for my sister. Everything was just complicated, I wish Lorenzo is still alive to set things right with him. The Montes need to apologise to him, for giving him a ha-rd time in courting Nadine, but it all over now. He’s gone and the only one we have around now is little Lorenzo right? We can make it up to him throu-ghhis son. Life is so unpredictable,” Miguel said sadly.
” If only you know,” Ca-ssie said.
” I just wish Nadine will soon come out of this and be strong again and who knows if true love will find her again. I want her to be happy again, I miss that cheerful Nadine,”
” We will help her recover,” Miguel said as he hug-ged Ca-ssie.
“You coming into my life have changed everything about me Ca-ssie. Thank you for saving Nadine on time and thank you for revealing to us the truth about Austin, he was never a good friend,”

Leonard gulped down more drink from the bottle of champagne as he thought about what Ca-ssie told him earlier.

“How true is that? He asked himself, wondering if she was telling him the truth.
**Eric isn’t my son but Lorenzo’s How?,” he thought trying to figure out that.
” That can’t be,” he said in rage as he tighten his grip on the bottle he was holding.
” Am gonna request for a DNA,” he smirked

Two days Later????

” Everything is going on fine here Sir. Ethan. The children are doing good and within the years about twenty children were adopted into a good family,” the manager said.
” make sure you follow up to know how they’re doing in their various new homes, if anyone of them is being bullied, maltreated or being abuse you should get that family arrested and bring the child back here, we have adequate health facility, support and education to help them,” he said sternly while the manager nodded.
” Yes Sir. That’s what we have been doing,”
“Good,” Lorenzo said.
He walked around with Mr. Marcel behind him as he visits the children arena.
He knows exactly how life on the street was, how difficult and painful it is not to have anyone. But having this organization he wants them to live as family rather than being adopted by some evil family that would destroy their life.
“Get me Dr. Franco,” he said to Mr. Marcel while he nodded before leaving.
In short time he came with Dr. Franco. The doctor in charged. He was the same person that once injected Mr Kendall with that poisonous substance and the order was from no one but Lorenzo.
“How are the conditions of the sick children? Lorenzo asked.
“They’re doing fine but one of them have to undergo a sugrey which will be done tomorrow,” Dr. Franco.
” It’s okay. Just make sure everyone is doing okay here,” he said.
” I think he’s the one,” one for the kid run to Lorenzo.
” The owner of this foundation! Thank you so much for saving poor people like us,” one of the girl said.
” Thank you so much sir. I was picked from the street just two months ago when I lose my mother during childbirth but am glad my baby sister is also here with me and the nannies are taking good care of her,” one of the teenage boy said while Lorenzo smile.
” This just the purpose of this orphanage to save children right on time and to give him hope for a brighter future ahead. Am an orphan like you and I lost my family at a tender age of fifteen years, so I know what it means. You’re all safe here and I want you all to see yourself as family because we are all we’ve got, to complete ourselves and live ourselves without discrimination,” he said.
” That’s inspiring,” one of the boy clapped happily.
” Thanks a lot,” the children chorused.
“Your wife and children must be so lucky,” one of the girl said.
” Hey.. did he tell you he has a family? One of the girl nudge her.
” I don’t know! even if he doesn’t have them now when he get to do that later they will be the luckiest,” she shrugged.
Lorenzo just watch them argue as he smile sadly.

Few days Later…✨
Nadine smile as she combed her hair and packed it in a neat bun. She applied a light make up and swirled in front of her mirror.
“This is the Nadine I use to know,” she said to herself.
She choose not to get stuck in the past as she have moved on already.
She came out bold and told Leonard the whole truth but he never believed her, he insisted they conduct a DNA test to know the real truth. Miguel has already did that which turn out negative between him and Eric but of course he didn’t believe that, he called his own doctor and they conduct the test using hair sample two days ago.
*”The results will be realease only when the two families are there together,”** the attorney said to settle the issue and know who actually own the child and who’s custody the child should be with.

“You look beautiful mom. Am happy to see you back on your feet again,” Eric smile.
” I had to Eric, this a crucial moment in our life and i have to be strong for you. Leonard isn’t your real father. Am sure by now you know how evil that man can be,” she said she Eric nodded sadly.
” But who is my real father then? And why aren’t you with him? Did he abandon us? Why isn’t he here? Eric asked innocently while Nadine kept quiet, she felt so sorry for her son to be caught up in all these mess.
“Your real father is a good man Eric, he love us so much and if he was here with us life would have been different,” she said sadly while Eric just looked at her.
” Who is he then? He asked curiously.
” You won’t understand that Eric but one thing am sure of is that everything will be fine soon,” she a-ssured him while he smile.
” It’s okay mother, I trust you,” he said.

Nadine and her family arrived to the hospital, they meet the Enersto’s family already there with their doctor.
“So your marriage to my son was filled with deceit, after seven years of marriage you will come out one day and say Eric isn’t his real son, how deceitful you can be and if this rumours is actually true I will make sure you regret ever deceiving us,” Leon’s mom said to Nadine.
” It’s your son that will go back to jail again. He had his chance to have another child of his own with Nadine but what did he do, he destroyed everything and beat her to stupor until she had a miscarriage, he almost ra-ped her and was emotionally humiliating her. Your son is the beast, he doesn’t deserves to be a father and am so glad he wasn’t the real father of my grandson. You have no grandson and after today you will never see my daughter nor my grandson,” Julianna said Sternly.
” My mom have said everything. If Leon should continue to disturb me after this I will sue him to court and make sure he rot in prison forever,” Nadine said icily while Leonard just looked at her. She looked more beautiful these days and seems like nothing is bothering her anymore. He wondered what she was having in mind this time.
“The result is out and it’s directly from the laboratory,” the doctor hand it over to Their attorney while the attorney gave it to Leonard to read it first.
His expression changed, as he go throu-ghit. Eric was who sitting beside Nadine was scared when he was the expression Leonard’s face.
“Let me see it,” his dad collect he result from his hand and read throu-ghit.
“Am sorry Leonard but the result here shows that you aren’t related to Eric in anyway. It actually turn out negative,” the doctor announced.
” That’s means the child belongs to Nadine and since your marriage is void, the child belongs to the mother and I hope with this you will let Nadine and her child live in peace,” the attorney said while Leonard gritted his teeth in anger.
The thought of Eric not being is son is getting him crazy already. So all these while he has loved and cared for Lorenzo’s child and not his.
“So that is it, The Enersto’s! you have no grandson and your poor son Leon have no son with my daughter. Am sure everything is well understood here,” Josie said seeing the shock and angry look on their face.
” Stay away from my sister. It’s all over now,” Miguel warned while Leon just kept mute as he felt his whole world crumbling down on him.
“This something I should have say a long time ago but am glad i did it now because you’ve pushed me to the wall. Eric isn’t your son and am not your wife. I will push throu-ghwith our annulment and this time you have to sign the divorce papers, it’s a must! Nadine said as she held Eric hand and they walked out leaving the Enersto’s still in shock…
