Jude watched as Mary walked away with Owen, he didnât know what to do, he was confused. He thought that Mary should have rejected Owenâs pu-ll and tell Owen that she is busy with him and even that Owen âcanât he see that Iâm with the girl â
Jude felt bad
The as-sembly rang and he didnât bother going back to his clas-s, he just went to the as-sembly hall

The as-sembly commenced and series of the usual programmes commenced, afterwards, the principal mounted the podium to announce some important information nee-ded by the student
âYou all know that your mid semester text is commencing next week, itâs advisable that you all sit ti-ght and study for your exam, remember I always tell you that everyone is a genius, they just nee-d to be ha-rd working and diligent in all that they doâ The principal said
âSecondly; there is gonna be a debate , the debate is gonna be between clas-s 7 and Clas-s 8. The debate is taking place on Friday in this same hall by 2:0clock pm. Some represÂŁntatives of the ministry of Education are coming to honour and award the winner of the debateâ The principal said
Owen arched his brow when he heard that the debate is gonna be between his clas-s âClas-s 8â and Maryâs clas-s which is Clas-s 7. He hoped in his heart that he would not be chosÂŁn to represÂŁnt his clas-s, after all , he is the most brilliant student in his clas-s
The principal gave further announcements and tell everyone to march inside

The biology teacher c@mÂŁ to Owenâs clas-s
âGood morning clas-sâ He greeted
âHi maâ Everyone greeted
She faced the board and wrote the t©pic she is gonna be teaching on it
The teacher went back to the podium from the white board, she rolled the sheets of her jotter and sighed re-ady to teach
She raised her head to start explaining the t©pic she had just written on the board.
Owen stood up all of a sudden cus he was feeling like urinating
âHow may I help you young man?â The teacher asked when he saw Owen stood up suddenly
âBella, tell the teacher I wanna urinateâ Owen said in sign language to Bella
Bella eyed him and refused
âNow he wants me to help him but he can hurl insult on meâ Bella thought
âYoung man, plea-se donât disturb my clas-s, but ainât you the newly appointed sÂŁnior prefect ?â The teacher asked
Owen nodded, he was hurt that Bella didnât speak up for him and defend him like she does, she wondered if Bella was using what is happening to him now with the teacher to take revenge on him
âCanât you speak, why did you like to just communicate by the use of b©dy language often, even on the day you were suppose to give a beautiful speech as the newly appointed sÂŁnior prefect, you refused and started pretending to be coughing . Oh! You wondering how we knew! The principal later asked the school doctor that attended to you to know what was wrong with you, but the doctor said he couldnât find anything wrong with youâ The teacher said
Owen sighed
â Zeus, do something plea-se, I can not speak, I do not want anyone to know , itâs gonna be bring shame upon me â Owen prayed to his god
âNow listen, if you are gonna prove stubborn to me not to speak, then Iâm gonna f0rç£ you and trust me , when I say thatâ The teacher said threateningly
The teacher is re-ady to ensure that Owen speaks to her, she thought that Owen was just a stubborn spoilt boy
A guy stood up from the back sit of the clas-s and went to meet the teacher at the front of the clas-s
He whispered some words to the ears of the teacher
âReally?â The teacher exclaimed at the whispered words of the boy that c@mÂŁ to meet her
The boy nodded
The teacher shook his head pathetically
âDid you wanna do something outside?â The teacher asked Owen
Owen nodded
The teacher signaled for Owen to go, Owen went to ease himself

The teacher had taught and gone
Owen had also returned to his clas-s and listened to the rest of the teachings of the teacher.
After the lecture, Owen twisted his head around searching for the boy that save him from the teacher just when he was about to receive the greatest disgrace of his life
âIâm hereâ the boy said
Owen turned his head and saw the boy
The boy smiled, he has sat right behind Owen
Owen arched his brow and went to sit beside him
Bella felt bad that the boy helped Owen, she wanted Owen to regret the words he said to her but now, the boy has spoilt her plan
âThanks for saving meâ Owen wrote
The boy smiled
âIâm Collinsâ The boy said in sign language
âOh! You can communicate in sign languageâ Owen asked in sign language
The boy nodded while smiling
Owen was happy that he now has another person that un-derstands sign language ap@rt from Bella in the clas-s
âWhat did you tell the teacher that calmed her?â Owen asked in sign language
âThe truthâ Collins replied
âThe truth?â Owen repeated in sign language
Collins nodded
âWhat is the truth?â Owen asked
âThat you can not speakâ Collins said
Owen arched his brow
âHow did you know that?â Owen asked surprisingly in sign language
âIâve watched you many times spoke to this lady in sign language, I knew from the first time I saw you communicating with her in sign language that you canât speakâ Collins said
âYou mean Bellaâ Owen asked in sign language confirming that the girl he meant was Bella
Collins nodded
âYou informed the teacher that Iâm dumb and he felt pathetic for me right?â Owen asked
âExactlyâ Collins said
Owen sighed happily and thanked Zeus in his heart for helping him as usual.

Mary and her friends had just received the first lecture , they were revising about the teaching they had just received
During the middle of their discussion , Kitty abruptly changed the t©pic
âHey guys, who did you think will be chosÂŁn to represÂŁnt our clas-s on the debate on Fridayâ
âMaybe your crushâ Mary said to Kitty
âYeah, Feathers is good, he might be the one represÂŁnting our clas-sâ Lydia added
âOr the labour prefect, they are both goodâ Kitty said
âBut I want Feathers to represÂŁnt our clas-s â Kitty added
âGuys, did you know what Iâm thinking, imagine that Maryâs crush , Owen in clas-s 8 versus Feathers, Kittyâs crush in clas-s 7 were chosÂŁn to combat themselves â Lydia said
âThat will be so interesting, well, I know Feathers will win, most writers are always very brilliantâ Kitty said
âWhat are you talking about, Owenâs gift of brilliancy is natural, itâs Godâs given, who is Feathers beside Owenâ Mary said confidently believing that Owen will definitely win Feathers
âGuys, donât argue yet, we arenât even sure, letâs wait and know those that are combatingâ Lydia said
âGirlsâ Jude who had taken a quic-k stroll to the relaxing room to go and rehearse a stanza of their song.
He called Mary on entering the clas-s
Mary and her friend turned at the same time at Jude
âGuys, have you checked the billboardâ Jude said
âI checked it before the as-sembly commenced, It was only the time table and some information that are no relevant to our clas-s that are thereâ Lydia said
âThe p@rticip@n-t of the debate has being chosÂŁn and pasted on the billboardâ Jude said and paused to wait for their reaction

âOwen and Bella is represÂŁnting Clas-s 8 and Feathers and Mary is represÂŁnting Clas-s 7â Jude said
Maryâs eye met with Kitty
Mary did not really like Feathers and now he is pairing with him to combat his crush, Owen and Bella that she dislikes
Lydia quic-kly thought and felt pathetic for Mary
âMary, you and Feathers, who is Kittyâs crush are gonna be combating with your crush, Owen and that witch called Bella, whom did you want to win?â
