CHAPTER SIX

I was still mute looking at anywhere but him. He said a few words before hanging up and putting the phone in his pocket.

“I have to go somewhere right now.” He said with a shrug and I rolled my eyes.

“Like I care. You’ve done enough damage already.” I muttered ru-b-bing my hands together.

“See you later.” He cooed before brushing past me. I followed right behind him wanting to get away from his space. He walked too fast and soon, he was going out throu-ghthe eastern door which students rarely used except during sports hours.

I was stranded at the hallway, not knowing if I should head to the cafeteria or just retire to cl@$$.

All of a sudden, I walked into someone but luckily our bodies didn’t collide.

I looked up to see him, Hillary, looking tired. His eyes made me think so..
“Have you seen Keiran? I’ve been looking for him.” He asked huskily.

“Actually, he just left.” I replied and he brushed a hand against his face. We rarely ever talk and even when we do, it’s all because of Keiran whom is quite lucky to have him as a friend.

His fingers contained just one ring and a br@celet which matched his long blonde hair. His family appears to be one of the most influential one in the town. Despite the status, he’s welcoming and easy going unlike a certain someone that is identified as my mate.

“Hillary, were you there last night? At the club?” I questioned slowly, not sure if I should ask him.

“Yes, I was there. You found out, huh? Keiran was dosed and we found him lying on the floor of the bathroom after searching for a couple of minutes.” He answered.

I swallowed ha-rd as I came to the realization that Keiran was saying the truth.

I feel bad that he was abused but the pain…

I didn’t deserve that. He felt good while I burned and wailed. It’s not fair in anyway. I wish he was more careful.

Ifu-cking wish he was.

• After School •

It was getting towards evening and I had the outfits for the pa-rty all sorted out. A crop top and a pair of leggings with a short shirt. I also decided to put on a jacket in case it gets cold.

No one was home at this point. Sky went with my mom to get some groceries while dad would not be back until later at night. As for Jared, there was a million places I could think of where he might be right now and pa-rt of it was at his girlfriend, Tiana’s house.

I was tying up my hair when a knock came on the door. Sprinting like a wolf, I pulled the door open to reveal Daphne and another girl standing beside her.

I tried to think of her name as I let them into the house.

“My Umbrie! You look so good.” Daphne complimented and I chuckled.

“You too, those boots are on fire.” I pointed out at her pink colorful summer boots.

“Hi Sherry.” I beamed as her name finally popped into my head. She held a hu-ge smile showing off her pretty face.

We ambled upstairs to my room where Sherry unpacked her purse revealing some make-up she had with her.

“Sit down so I can brighten up your face.” She said to me and I didn’t hesitate as I took the chair facing the mirror.

“We are gonna slay tonight.” Daphne giggled falling on my bed. She wore a stunning ti-ght dress while Sherry wore blue jeans and a rosy top.

“Like, for real! Totally can’t wait to see my crush.” Sherry replied in her German accent.

“Who’s that?” I asked with a lopsided grin.

“My one and only, Keiran!.” She squealed and I suddenly felt my mouth going dry. What did she just say? “I was so excited when he returned from wherever he was at chilling. He’s so fine and hot.”

“You are crazy.” Daphne laughed and I joined in awkwardly.

“I’ve been totally fan-girling him since he came back. Just an alone time with him would be the best thing that would ever happen to me.” She went on to gush like a princess awaiting her knight.

I remained silent, not sure on what to say.

She sounds really desperate to have him. This makes everything more uncomfortable.

Daphne also keeps quiet as Sherry spoke more about Keiran. His abs, looks, steps. And crazy enough, she also mentioned how good he could be in bed. She had some sort of kinky side of her that craves for only him.
I imagined me breaking the bond with Keiran only for him to move on with Sherry.
But I doubt we’ll be able to move on. From the stories I’ve heard, breaking things up with your mate makes one miserable and go throu-ghweakness on a different level.

I never thought I’d be that person the first time I started spending time with Keiran. He wasn’t so sweet, soft or dreamy. He didn’t talk much, stubborn but he was honest and wasn’t scared to let out his thoughts. He was gentle in so many ways. I should have known he didn’t feel the same way, he could leave anytime he pleased and return with intentions of making everything go back to normal. Maybe one day, I’ll be the one to leave. Yup, that’s right!
I’ll be the one to cheat and break his stupid heart.

After she was done applying the makeup, I turned around to see no Daphne. She was sitting right on the bed.

Where did she disappear to?

I got up and exit the room but halted when I found her peeping into Jared’s bedroom with the door slightly open.

I cleared my throat in a dramatic way and she je-rked away from the door.

“What are you doing? Snooping around?” I grinned with a laugh and her cheeks flushed.

“I wanted to see what his bedroom looked like since I was here. A house tour is what’s reigning this days.” She replied closing the door properly.

“And by him, you mean?…”

“Your brother, Jared.”

“Interesting.” I remarked and she chuckled.

I wondered if she was interested in him in a dating kind of way or if it was just a mere snooping around. Jared has Tiana and I just wish nothing splits them up. The way she helps him is just something my parents can’t do for him, not even his best friends. She deserves the best — to be happy.

But Jared doesn’t see that, he keeps talking about finally finding his mate so they can be together.

We left the house to Noah’s home where the pa-rty was happening.

He always throws a pa-rty often but I don’t attend. Tonight was pretty much the first time I was coming to his gathering.

The atmosphere was filled with lots of positive vibes as we entered the hu-ge house. I caught of a scent of two wolves or three around and I realized I wasn’t the only wolf around. It made me somewhat relieved.

Daphne held me ti-ght as we approached a group of people sitting together around a little table. Oh sh*t. Keiran and his friends were the ones sitting around the table.

Someone elbows me and I fell on my arse onto a chair right next to…

I glanced up and saw him operating his phone and not minding his surroundings. I never thought I’d see Keiran here. Especially with his whole gang — not after he called Noah an arsehole in the hallways.

Daphne sat at my left amidst the chaos of the pa-rty while Sherry was sitting next to Hillary, opposite us.

“Hey guys.” Daphne waved and she got the same motion in return. Hillary and Ace p@$$ed her a glance while the rest lifted two of their fingers to a brief wave.

Keiran lifted his head from his phone and looked around, his gaze falling on me afterwards. I glared at him before feeling my phone ring from my pocket.

I withdrew it and checked the message.

*Sherry*: let’s swap seats, I want to sit beside him! -pouting emoji-

I looked up to see her intensely staring at Keiran whom was now doing whatever.

The music from the speakers was do loud and was blasting around us.

I texted her back.

*Umbrie*: I have something to tell him, you see. A personal matter to discuss. Please wait a bit.

I felt my heart sink after I se-nt it. I had no idea why I was making up an excuse all of a sudden. Maybe I’m just scared what happened the other night would repeat itself.
A text popped in immediately and I looked into it.

*Sherry*: don’t worry, take your time. -smiling emoji-

CHAPTER SEVEN

“Let’s pla-y truth or dare.” A rou-ghvoice said and I drifted my gaze from my phone to Ace whom was swinging a bottle of bear in his hand. He sounded drunk but his face didn’t correspond.

“Wow, I’m in!” Sherry said excitedly while I put my phone in my pocket.
Angelo, one of Keiran’s friends provided a bottle and dropped it at the center of the circle.

He spun it first and it landed between two folks. The rule of the game was — either do the truth/dare or drink a full gl@$$ of whiskey.
I watched the game go on and for the first time, the bottle stopped between me and Ace.

I raised my head to find everyone staring at me. Ace cleared his throat and drew close.

“Umbrie, truth or dare?” He growled lowly and I smiled.

“Dare.”

“Hmm.” He smi-rked with a chuckle. “I dare you to kizz Scott.”

I grinned as my gaze drifted to Scott who was looking more bashful than ever. His eyes said it all, he wasn’t expecting it.
I got up as I felt Keiran moving in his seat.
I made a promise to myself and that is to get back at him. I will gradually fulfill this promise.

I grabbed Scott by the collar and smashed my li-ps against his kizzing him like Ace had dared me to.

There was loud noises of mixed reactions from everyone watching and I could hear Keiran growling lowly. He was enduring the pain. That’s nice.

I unlocked from the kizz and returned to my chair right next to thefu-cker whom was clutching onto his stomach.
One thing about him was the fact that he didn’t like anyone to see him weak. He always wants to be the tough guy that can handle any situation and that’s the reason he was finding it ha-rd telling me he was tied down to a bed and was abused.

He could have been strong like he wanted everyone to see he was.

He let out a painful nod as I glanced at him. Sighs. I should have kizzed Scott some more.

As the game went on, I noticed someone was looking at me — or more like staring at me. I carefully looked up and found those eyes. The eyes that had been looking and they belonged to Clint, the beta of our pack.
He must have seen me kizz another guy in front of my mate and that’s why he’s judging me with his eyes.

My head lowered as fear contorts my being. I shouldn’t be feeling guilty because Keiran cheated on me too. But I do. I just felt somewhat bad.
The crazy game just went on and I looked around once more to see that Clint had left.

Keiran got dared to do something nasty with Sherry but to my surprise, he took the penalty thereby drinking the gl@$$ of whiskey.
Sherry’s eyes was teary when this happened. Her heart must have sunk seeing that Keiran turned down an opportunity for her to do something freaky with her.

I got asked some uncomfortable questions when I picked truth so I settled to drinking whiskey which I’m starting to suspect isn’t just whiskey but some alcohol mixed with something stronger.

Daphne got drunk fast and started saying gibberish and acting out of control. I was surprised to see her act disheveled and pretty much — messed up.

Hillary offered to take her home because he happened to know where she lived. The duo left and the rest of us continued the game, wasting time into the dark night.

I was starting to get tipsy too and laugh at anything anyone said.
Suddenly, drunk Keiran snatched the bottle I had been drinking from and p@$$ed it to Ace.

“Come on, time to go home.” He growled grabbing me up from the chair. I clutched onto his wrist feeling my nails dig into his skin. I’m hurting him but he didn’t act like it hurt. He keeps hiding that pa-rt of his, huh..

I blinked multiple times as I try to make out what was on his hand.
Hold on…when did he get a tattoo?

“Keiran! What’s this tattoo on your hand?” I asked still scratching him with my nails.

Since when are students allowed to have tattoos? Oh, the fact that he is from a wealthy home must have screwed their minds.

He didn’t answer me but led me out of the busy house. I could ba-rely walk right but he helped me all throu-ghthe way to his car.

He dumped me at the p@$$enger seat and headed to the driver’s seat.

Hold on..He’s driving?.

“You can’t drive, you are drunk too…” I muttered stopping him from bringing out his car keys.

“I can manage…” He growled resting his head back on the headrest.

I shook my head rigorously.

“I don’t want to die young, stupid.” I half yelled briefly closing my eyes.
I was trying to keep myself awake so I for-ced my eyes open.

I gasped when I felt Keiran’s head against my ne-ck. He started kizzing me gently and I try to wiggle him off.

“Get off me!” I finally pushed him away and he had a dark look in his eyes.

“Let me take you to my house and then you can go back home in the morning.” He said opening the car door.
His house was right next to Noah’s and I wondered why he even came with his car unless he was came from somewhere else.

I tried to argue with him but I felt the nee-d to use the restroom so I just let him take me to his house.
His house was just as I remembered it, hu-ge and annoyingly beautiful with water fountains, expensive paintings about werewolves, sculptures and glittering lights.

He led me up to his bedroom and the first thing I did was use the bathroom. I was finally at peace and returned back his spacious bedroom.

“Get on the bed.” He ordered in his usual co-cky tone and I rolled my eyes.

“I will but you have to stay away from me.” I groused folding my hands.
He started coming towards me causing me to panic. I raised my leg kicking him at his member..
He froze with his eyeba-llswidening.

“I told you to stay away!” I yelled.

“Gosh…I was just trying to give you thefu-cking blanket.” He glowered throwing the blanket at my feet.

I sighed as I picked it up and climbed up his king sized comfortable bed. I covered myself up ti-ghtly making sure nowhere was loose.

“Promise.” I muttered.

“Huh?” He asked getting on the bed.

“Promise you won’t touch me.”

“What thefu-ck… I promise.” He grumpily replied and my eyes closed on their own accord..

• MORNING •

I slept drunk but the night was yet so lovely. I woke up to the masculine voice of someone talking.
My eyes flared open as the voice continued. I felt irritated that it was disturbing my sleep.

I raised up my head and found the je-rk — Keiran — standing at the window side and talking to someone on his phone.

He should have at least have the decency to not be loud! Goodness!..

“…Yes, Jared. You can come get her from my bedroom. She’s really fast asleep at the moment so take your time, bro.” Keiran said and I froze.

Jared.
He’s talking to Jared? How come?
And did he just ask him to come pick me up?!

No…no way. Fear consumed me like icy water. I ditched the bed.
