Episode 52.
I returned from the pharmacy with the drugs and saw Chinwe in Treasure room,
“You c@m£ alre-ady? I asked her.
“Welcome, she replied.
“Thank you, I said giving Uche the bag.
“It wasn’t easy to find it right? Uche asked bringing out the drugs.
“Yes yes, they were just directing me from one pharmacy to another. Has Treasure eaten? I asked when she was slee-ping.
“Chinwe brou-ght something for her to eat, Uche replied.
“Okay, I said nodding and sat down while the room was quiet.
“Are you going for your business? Uche asked.
“Nope my girls are covering up for me, what about you? I asked.
“I kind of took permission, but I told them if anything important comes up they should give me a call, he replied.
“Okay, so wont you go home and refresh your self? Don’t worry we can cover up for you, I said.
“For me to go home now and come back? Check the distance na, Uche said.
“I mean our place, you nee-d to rest your head, you can come back in the evening or so, I said.
“Alright fine, okay I’ll be going now, Uche said getting up.
“See you later, I said.
“Bye, Chinwe spoke up and he left.
I just looked at Chinwe who was operating her phone and heaved,
“So you’re still angry huh? What’s all this attitude anyway? How will Treasure feel when she wakes up to hear that I don’t love or care about her? I mean what’s all this! I asked and she looked at me and sighed.
“I’m sorry okay, I didn’t know what happened but I was so scared when I saw Treasure that way yesterday. I couldn’t control myself and I don’t still un-derstand why I poured it all on you, something isn’t just right, she replied.
“And the cold shoulder? I asked.
‘Uhmmm about that I can’t still explain, but its okay, she replied.
“Its okay huh? Fine no problem, I said and she smiled.
“I’m sorry okay, Treasure is getting better and I’m relieved. And forget about the way I acted like you don’t love Treasure, that was very stupid of me to think of and I’m sorry, she said but I was quiet.
She took off her shoe and threw it on my leg pla-yfully where I sat,
“i said I’m sorry na, hiannnn! Chinwe said and I looked at her and shook my head.
“So how is he? I asked.
“How is he who? She asked.
“The guy of yesterday nah, or you think I didn’t see you two walking ro-mantically together? I asked and Chinwe scoffed.
“Really? He insisted to walk with me when I left that night to get drugs, not like I have anything to do with him. Remember the guy I bu-mped into yesterday? that’s him, nothing serious, Chinwe replied.
“I see but you two looked good together sha, I said wi-nking at her and she hissed.
“Look good together fire! Who cares about that now when I want to do something useful with my life, Chinwe said and I laughed and her phone began to ring.
“$h!t! That woman is calling, I totally forgot about her sef, Chinwe said.
“Me too o, I said and She picked up.
“Good morning ma, she greeted putting the call on speaker.
“Morning Chinwe, its in 2 days time, just a reminder though, she said.
“Sure ma, noted, Chinwe said.
“I hate disappointment, tell your sister same, she said.
“We know that ma, Chinwe said.
“Okay bye, she said and dropped the call and we both heaved.
“2 days kwa? I never even buy anything o, Chinwe said looking at me.
“s£nior, sister, you two should get prepared, don’t worry I’ll be fine, we heard Treasure said.
“Are you sure about that? You won’t be lonely left alone? I asked.
“Sure I’ll be fine, she replied.
“We nee-d to leave you with someone, I’ll call up Uche and tell him we are going out, Chinwe said.
“No sister, Uncle nee-ds rest so let him have it. I said I will be fine trust me, Treasure said and I heaved.
“Fine if you insist, let’s start going nau, I said to Chinwe and she took her bag.
“Don’t worry before that day I’ll be strong so I’ll as-sist you both, its our business remember, Treasure said smiling.
“Get well first, bye, we said and left……………
Its 2days alre-ady and all hands were seriously on deck in such a short notice to make things right on that occasion.
We chartered a taxi and loaded the coolers of food into it at 3:30pm. After all the p@rty kicks off at 3pm, food won’t be shared anytime soon and considering African time mentality, we felt we were early.
Surprisingly when we arrived there, the crowd we saw there threw us off balance.
“Are you the ones in charge of the food? What took you so long? Come this way, a young lady said all at once directing the taxi where he should park.
We hurried out bringing out the coolers to where we were asked to stand; it was a buffet.
I turned and looked at Chinwe who was kind of nervous,
“Did you taste the chicken again? Was it sweet? Chinwe kept asking the same question over and over again.
Blessed laughed at her when I was tired answering the same questions and we saw the woman approaching us.
The different dishes were alre-ady in the Smorg@sbord and our hearts was beating fast if she will be angry we c@m£ late,
“I’m glad there was so disappointment, she said and we greeted her.
“Sorry ma we arrived late, Chinwe apologized.
“Its okay at least not too late. I hope its delicious? She asked.
“You want a taste ma? I asked.
“Sure, let me have the fried rice, she replied and i quic-kly scooped it for her.
She took a spoon and nodded,
“Beautiful, I’ll use this to keep my mouth busy. Once again you’re welcome to my p@rty, and where’s Treasure? She asked when she noticed strange faces with us.
“Treasure isn’t that strong to come with us, she was ill, Chinwe replied.
“Are you serious? Don’t worry we will talk about that later, she said and hurried off still holding the plate of food. We smiled at ourselves and our hearts was relieved at that moment.
In the midst of the celebr@tion or should i say p@rty, while i was smiling and liking everything I saw, Chinwe pinched me pointing to a direction..
I couldn’t really see what or who she was pointing at, but she suddenly left us where we stood and ignored me when i was asking her where she was going to.
She eventually met with the celebr@nt on the way and I noticed they were talking and Chinwe didn’t look good, before I knew it, I swathe woman held Chinwe hand taking her to a corner probably so they can discuss well.
I couldn’t leave the stand where i was in case anyone will come around to have a plate of food, but i was so anxious to know what they are talking about without me.
Minutes later Chinwe returned with this angry look and I got more confused,
“Will you like to tell me what’s going on? What happened? I asked and she cleaned her face and sighed.
“I saw that idiot, the fool who almost almost destroyed my life after getting me pregnant, Chinwe replied and my eyes bugled out.
“You mean he was here? I didn’t see him, but what were you discussing with the woman? I asked.
“Don’t worry you’ll know, Chinwe replied when a young lady approached our stand.
“Delicious meal i must confess, who prepared It?She asked.
“Us, I replied.
“Wow, my dad birthday is next week and i want you girls to be there. He’s a commissioner and you know that what means right? She asked and we nodded.
“We’ll talk on phone, let me have your number, she said stretching out her phone to me and I quic-kly typed it down.
“Bye girls, she said.
“Thank you bye, we said and she left. We happily gave ourselves a hi five,
“More is coming I believe, Blessed said..

Episode 53
We got 2 more contracts before the end of the p@rty, though we didn’t know what it is all about but we gave out our number to them which they promised to give a call.
The food got finished, which was a clear sign for us to start packing as our work is finished and righteousness is being fulfilled; it was 7:30pm then even though the p@rty was still on, I wonder if they are not tired.
Chinwe was still moody and I know there’s so much she want to talk about but the noisy environment won’t let us.
As we were alre-ady packing, we saw the woman coming in a hurry.
“Ma we are about to go, I said to her.
“Okay, Chinwe see me, she replied.
“Ma what’s going on? I asked when she was about leaving and she looked at Chinwe who nodded at her.
“Fine both of you follow me, your girls can handle everything here right? The woman asked.
“Yes we can, Blessed replied and we left with her.
She took us inside her house and to her be-droom where she locked the door behind us, then looked at us with a very serious look.
“Are you sure like really sure about what you told me about that man? She asked Chinwe.
“You mean Titus? I asked.
“Yes Titus, the woman replied me.
“Ma Titus is an evil man, in this very Enugu the police were looking for him but we couldn’t find him. He parked out from where he was staying and I don’t exactly know why he’s doing those things, he almost killed my sister, I replied her and she looked at Chinwe.
“That’s the truth ma, I was a nanny to his 2 children, do you know he has children? She asked.
“Yes yes he told us that, but he said his wife died in a motor accident, she replied.
“What! That’s not true! I shouted.
“They were divorced, Chinwe added.
“I don’t know what to believe anymore but he actually showed us her obituary whatever, the woman said and Chinwe looked at me.
“Ma Treasure was the one who introduced us to her, according to her she overheard his wife looking for a nanny for her daughters and she told us about it. When my sister got missing I went to the school she was teaching after I had alre-ady known he parked out, but I was told she resigned from the job. No one said anything about death, I said.
“Tomorrow can you take me to this school she was teaching? The woman asked.
“With all plea-sure, I replied and the woman heaved walking around the room and finally sat down on the be-d while I looked at Chinwe confused.
“Ma you must not let him destroy your daughter, Chinwe said.
“He’s never going to try that with me, if he has been doing that out there, he got to the wrong place because I will be the one to kill him if he hurt my child! She shouted.
“Ma what if we tell the police about this? I mean he was seriously looked for by them but we couldn’t find him. The may take up the case after all the guys he s£nt for Chinwe was arrested and confessed he s£nt them, I said and she laughed.
“The police looking for Titus and his boys were arrested? Are you sure they are still in prison till now? The woman asked.
“I saw them in prison ma, I replied.
“When last? And this story is just so confusing and contradicting at the same time. Titus living in a rented ap@rtment sounds absurd, what year was that anyway? She asked and I looked at Chinwe.
“ba-rely 2 years ago ma, and yes he was staying in a sto-rey building but it was rented. He was a banker, I replied and the woman scoffed.
“Banker? That’s not what he is except you’re mistaken. He works in a oil company, The woman said.
“Ma except he lied to us but I swear i know what I saw and I can’t be mistaken. its him, its Titus and if you had let me talked to him…….. “Its okay, I’ll dig to the root of this matter. You can go, she said and we nodded and left her room.
As we were trying to locate our stand, I sighted Titus weighing on a jeep with a lady and I pinched Chinwe so she can see him.
“Bastard! Chinwe shouted and attem-pted to approach him but I held her back.
“Are you thinking at all? You want to go approach him just like that huh! I shouted on her.
“After what he did! She shouted back.
“That’s the main reason we should act cool because he’s dangerous, we don’t know what he’s capable of doing now let’s go, I said dragging her away from there.
The girls were alre-ady waiting for us when we got to them,
“I’ll go get the taxi, try taking the coolers out, Chinwe said and left while i rolled my eyes and heaved as i wondered what would have happened if she had approach Titus with such rage.
“Sis Dora, is everything okay? Blessed asked.
“Hmmmm my sister you will not un-derstand, we are going to the restaurant right? I asked her back.
“Are we? I was thinking I’ll drop by the road so I can go home, Joy said.
“No we have get to the restaurant together, I left some food there as if I knew, you’ll take that to your family and I have to pay you for helping us out. honesty I’m blessed having you girls,I said.
“Awwwnnn that’s my name, Blessed said and we laughed carrying the coolers out waiting for Chinwe………..
Minutes later we were alre-ady in the restaurant, I opened up and sat down tiredly with Chinwe while the girls took the coolers in.
I looked at Chinwe and smiled hitting her pla-yfully to cheer her up,
“Don’t let this ruin our day, it was successful despite you were scared, I said and she heaved.
“E remain small i for get heart attack, Dora It was not funny at all, Chinwe said and we bur-st out laughing at her.
“Dorothy come and taste na if the salt is okay, are you sure its okay? Joy said mimicking Chinwe before we left for the p@rty.
“But truth be told i was scared o, but Sis Dora is this your first contract? Blessed asked me.
“Not really o, but this was hvge. Other contract i was able to carry it out alone, i replied.
“Oh no wonder, but it ended well though and its late, Blessing said and we saw it was almost 9pm.
“That’s right, i said and got up,
“Your food flask plea-se, I said to the girls.
“I didn’t bring mine o, Chinwe said.
“Thief! Come give this girls their thing make dey go house so they’ll return for work tomorrow, I said dragging her up.
“Their thing? Is it not in their b©dy, Chinwe said laughing at me while i shook my head as we got in.
The girls were so happy thanking us every now and then with the food, chicken, isi ewu and the can drinks I added with 5k to each of them.
“More contracts Lord! Blessing shouted.
“Pray ha-rd abeg we nee-d it, okay bye see you girls tomorrow, i said to them.
“Bye ma, Bye Chinwe God bless you! They shouted running out.
“Where’s my drink? Chinwe asked.
“You sef, is there no wine in the house? I asked.
“You’re joking, Chinwe said taking 2 can malt from the freezer.
“Okay fine can we go home now? You know how Treasure is, I said.
“Okay let me take Treasure own, Chinwe said opening the Freezer again.
“Chinwe! I shouted throwing her my bag and she ran out laughing ha-rd .
“Ordinary can drink o! Chinwe shouted……….
We got home and saw Treasure face, just seeing her made us laughing ha-rd at her,
“How far with this kind face na, bring that wine come let’s pop, Chinwe said but Treasure didn’t answer us, she was just frowning and i smiled,
“Look baby, we didn’t want to stress you but don’t worry, we have 3 contracts alre-ady and you will come with us, I said to her.
“Deal? Treasure asked.
“Deal like say na you dey sign the contract sef, crazy girl, Chinwe said dropping her bag to the freezer.
“Na you craze pas-s sef, Eaten? I asked Treasure.
“Waiting for you, she replied.
“Okay there’s enough food here, i said keeping the food flask but Treasure searched throu-gh Chinwe bag and brou-ght out 1 can malt.
“Bia bia return it sharp before you’ll collect sl@p! Chinwe shouted when she returned with the wine and 3 glas-ses.
“Really? I asked and got the drink from Treasure and opened it and immediately gulped it down.
“Oh Dorothy you’ll beat me today! Chinwe shouted running after me.
