MY ORDEAL✊✊
Episode 100🙆

Story by Miriam Edem (Miriam Eyen Efik )
Treasure wedding was a boom as everyone went on white and black as a law student she is.
A lecturer there gave her a car as a pres£nt, according to her she’s the best of the student and she’s more plea-sed to bless her with that.
As I and my husband witnessed them in the reception, I just smiled as I remembered telling Treasure that someone is interested in her and she hissed.

She has always been this type not interested in guys, but the one she less expected was the one serious and re-ady, and it got me more plea-sed it was someone close to us, someone we are very sure will love and cherish our baby girl.

I couldn’t dance as I wanted to because of my baby, but Chinwe and Linda scattered the ground for me.
I was dying with jealousy that Uche noticed it and got the baby from me,
“Go celebr@te with your sister, he said.
“Awwn thank you darling you’re the best! I shouted k!ss!nghim and matched to the front to displ@ymy steps too, I Can’t carry last na!

As I was walking around ma-king sure everything is in order a woman approached me, I couldn’t recognize her that quic-kly because I was busy but the way she talked to me I knew she must know me.
When I st©pped to look at her well, I then remembered she’s one of my customer whose daughter was stupidly in love with the man that almost killed Chinwe.

Seeing her I respectfully greeted her and she apologized she didn’t come to my wedding because she was out of the country,
“Its nothing ma I un-derstand, I said.
“Congratulations again and this is my gifts for the 3 of you, she said.

“Oh thank you so much, Chinwe is in the other side and she will be so happy, thank you again and how is your daughter? I asked and she heaved.
“You two were right, she replied.

“No ma don’t tell me he succeeded in hurting your daughter, I thought you were fighting not to let that happen? I asked.
“What do you want me to do when my daughter didn’t want my help? In fact she saw me as an enemy and travelled with the idiot out of the country. But when she finally realized herself and returned with a girl child looking so thin and miserable, I made sure I showed him his place, she said and I shook my head.

“That is so bad of him, what gain does he derive in doing this to young girls? I asked.
“Dora i said you nee-d to see my daughter, I couldn’t even recognize her again and I’m sure he used a spell on her, it can’t be ordinary but she’s fine. She’s here with me, she said.

“She’s here? Oh my God I nee-d to see her, I said and called on one of my girls to take the pres£nts while I followed her to see her daughter but I saw the funniest with her alre-ady.
“Oh you’re so funny plea-se st©p, I heard her said when we approached her and I smiled at the funniest who win-ked at me.

He greeted the woman not knowing she’s the mother and went his way while the woman looked at the daughter who was facing down,
“Who is he? Her mother asked.
“Oh plea-se don’t start. Hi Dora congratulations in arrears, she said giving me a hvg.

“Thank you thank you, I said.
“You’re looking so fat and beautiful, given birth?she asked.

“Yea its a girl, I replied.
“Aewwnnn thats so sweet, she said and I saw her daughter.

“Is she the one? I asked and she nodded and I went to her carrying her,
“Pretty like her mother, I want you to draw your strength from her okay no matter what has happened, I said and she heaved and nodded forcing a smile

“Sometimes I get angry, she said.
“Its un-der stood but what matters is you survived it, I said.

“Survived and be tagged as a single mother? No guy wants to hear that and I think I’m done, she said and i shook my head and dropped the girl back on the chair she was sitting,
“Don’t say that, whatever tag is placed on being a single mother, not all guys believes they are all bad. Everyone deserves a second chance, and if that chance was given to Chinwe you too can have same, I said.

“But hers is different and……. “Everyone deserves a second chance dear, but for now I’m sure you’ve learnt your lessons, be a better you and take good care of your daughter. Soon someone handsome and sweet will come knocking, I said and she smiled.

“Thanks Dora, she said.
“You’re welcome, so plea-se enjoy the p@rty and thank you again for the gifts, I said.

“Its okay, she said.
“Thank you Dora, plea-se run off to what you were doing I so much appreciate you talking to my daughter, her mother said.

“plea-sure is all mine ma, I appreciate and plea-se I’ll be back, I said and hurried off to attend to something but I met with the funniest.
“Hey you know her? He asked referring to the woman daughter.

“Yea and why? I asked.
“Uhmmm I think I like her, he said and i laughed.

“Dora be serious na now that I’m serious, he said and I looked at him again.
“You like her? For be-d or? I asked and he began hitting his leg,

“No be you say make I marry? Besides I’m now a big boy na and no more runs pla-y. We all have our business and we gave a thought to what you told us, if Uche don come get pikin na we-tin we dey wait for again na? He asked and i heaved knowing he’s serious.

“Let me tell you something before you will say I didn’t tell you…… “That she’s a single mother? He cut in.
“Uhmm yes and i hope you have no problem with that? I asked.

“Dora I love children o no mind as I dey so and fine children for that matter. If the lady is good I think I have no problem with that, so what do you think, should i take my sh0t? He asked and I happily cheered at him.
“You’re the real guy mhen, wait I’ll get her number for you okay, I said.

“Thank you mommy, I’ll be waiting, he said and left and i smiled shaking my head………

3 weeks later Uche reminded me about our promises in the community,
“Honey i know you’re not from there but let’s not forget the love and support they gave to us, I think we are still oweing them, he said and i got up cleaning my face.
“I didn’t forget about it but there was so many responsibilities i had to take care of. But that’s not a problem now i think, we can fulfill our promise, I said.

“I earlier spoke with my friends and we agreed on a amount we will contribute to carry out the project we promised. But i personally want to bless some youths there with 500, 000 to open a business and take care of themselves, i said.
“That’s so nice of you dear, thank you, I said.

“What for nau? I just nee-d that place to be developed like our different communities, it won’t be a crime if God wants to use us to bless them, you know all those old wizards and witches st©pped good things from coming out there, he said.
“That’s right, so we will begin work immediately then right? I asked.

“As soon as possible so we won’t look like politicians, he said and i smiled and put Chinwe on phone which she agreed to carry on with her promise as it has been long overdue.

Work began to start in the village and before we knew it, the nursery school was completed and i made sure it was spacious and fit academically.

I saw there’s a nee-d to locate a secondary school nearby and i took a look at Manfred house that was destroyed combined with his farmlands and it was enough to fix in a school there also.
I didn’t want to keep any land belonging to that idiot vacant, and considering the fact I’m not from there, I nee-ded to establish something that will always be there carrying my memory.

I spoke with my husband about it and we were still capable to Carry out that project, he gave me the go ahead and i went further to build a school there.
When i was done, i handed the keys to the graduates I saw there, automatically i just gave them a job trusting they will manage the place very well and they couldn’t express their joy.

Water was located everywhere in the village and Chinwe drew in lights for the people. My husband personally gave out 500,000 naira to 7 youths to either learn a trade or open a business.
The prayers we received from mothers, fathers and the youths was able to carry us till our 3rd generation.

My brothers on the other hand pas-sed excellently and i quic-kly arranged for them to study abroad.
I nee-ded nothing but the best for those boys, and i was re-ady to do all it takes to see them succeed and be happy.

The guys got married 1 after the other which the funniest opened the door by settling down with the lady at Treasure wedding.

6 years later we turned looking back at our success and decided to throw a p@rty, where we personally shared both the good and bad of our story.
None of us started it easy, neither were we saints or perfect, but grace shone on us crowning all our ashes with beauty.

When life seemed like it was over at a point for us, but God somehow made a way even when we Didn’t really recognise him in our lives, but he loved us still.
At the end we all smiled at the heights we have attained despite life was not smiling at us.

With our children surrounding us, we swore they will never go throu-gh all what we went throu-gh and we did our best to draw them to God as we prayed he should plea-se keep them same way he kept us, and we lived happily ever after💃

To my sweet followers, you’re the best💓
