💜 Iris’s standpoint 💜

I threw myself on my be-d with a heavy puff. The p@rty last night was fantastic! Went exactly as planned. I was left alone to rest because I pla-yed stressed out, the girls went out with their b©yfri£nds while I stayed in hoping Hans would come visit. Eden ru-bbe-d my nose with his tail, I forgot to mention he was staying with me but more with one of the maids. I think he has a crush on her but she broke his monkey heart last night.

‘Yeah?’ I murmured. He tapped my face with my phone. I took it from his hand and answered the call. I forgot to re-move my phone from meeting mode. ‘Good evening,’

‘Iris,’ I rolled my eyes, the heck of a man.

‘Hi dad,’ I almost scoffed out. ‘How’s Violet?’

‘Oh, I’m sure she is fine, just fainted out of shock, she missed you.’

‘The same person that said you should throw me away?’ I sneered. That sli-pped out. I bit my lowerl-ip, I should be careful.

‘You still remember that?’

‘I don’t like her daddy, Violet is mean, but daddy is good. You are good, right daddy?’

‘Of course, I love you very much and that was why I left you alive instead of hurting you.’

And yet you left me to starve, how wonderful.

‘I know, that’s why I love you dear. Daddy, I’m going back to school, can I stay with you? I’m always alone at my ap@rtment and…’

‘Yes, yes, yes of course. You can stay with me for as long as you want, after all, I’m your father.’

‘Yes, sure you are,’ I said sarcastically. He didn’t get it, dumb man. ‘I’ll call you back later dad, goodnight perhaps.’

‘Goodnight.’ I hung up and exhaled. I shouldn’t be happy about it, don’t let it get into your head. I sighed and stared at my phone like I had been doing all day, waiting for Hans to call. My phone rang out, my special ringtone for Hans. I quic-kly picked it up with a grin.

‘Really?’ He chuckled.

‘What?’

‘Where you just waiting for me to call you?’ I rolled my eyes sheepishly. ‘You were staring at your phone, weren’t you?’

‘Me? Why would you think that?’ I scoffed, shyly rolling my hair around my wrist. ‘I just finished talking to my dad when your call c@m£ in, I wasn’t waiting for your call or anything.’ I lied.

‘Huh uh, I believe you,’ he said jestingly.

‘Oh shut up, I wasn’t waiting for you to call, I was just…just…just…hmm, what was I doing again?’

‘And she is like my mother, the legendary forgettors,’

‘No I’m not,’ I said defensively. ‘I just tend to forget unreasonable things these days.’

‘Something we were talking about,’ he snorted. ‘Admit it Iris, you miss me.’

‘I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about,’ I rolled my eyes around. ‘Why did you call me anyways?’

‘I was going to ask you if you want to see a movie with me but since you don’t miss me, nevermind.’

‘H…’ He hung up. I placed my hand on my che-st, my heart. Is he upset? He wants to pl@ystone? Let’s see who will break first. I threw my phone on my pillow. ‘Eden, wanna go to the game room and pl@ywith me? Knight bought a sick game and we can pl@ychess or snake and ladders, right?’ He rolled his eyes to my phone. ‘Leave it, let’s have fun instead.’

‘Ook, ook,’ I chuckled at his joyful shout. I stood up and led him outside to the game house. Eden and I had fun, we pla-yed videogames in which I lost. Chess which I also lost. Snake and ladders, I lost again. Cue sports which I also lost to Eden. Tic-tac-toe, I lost. Crosswords, I lost. Rock, paper and scissors for who would get the TV remote, I lost again. I don’t know how I lost so much to a monkey. It was either I wasn’t as intelligent as I thought I was, the monkey was just ten times smarter, Hans overtrained him or he was an alien. I go for all.

We were watching Nat Geo Wild channel – since I lost – and eating banana ch!ps even though I didn’t like it. The program wasn’t that bad, at least I got to know there is a sea worm that has both genitals; female’s and male’s. Whenever they want to mate, both species must battle for who will carry the babies. Loser gets to be the mommy, and victor gets to move on with it life. First clas-s level of irresponsibility and waywardness. I also got to see a mountain llama like creatures giving birth while standing and the baby standing up immediately. That was disgusting but I had to watch, Eden gracefully reminded me that I’m a loser. You know, if I was that wiggle worm, I would definitely lose and be the mommy, or worse!

‘Lady Hildegarde,’ I bent my head backward to look at the person with upsidedown vision. It was a maid, Stella.

‘Yeah?’

‘You have a guest,’

‘Who?’ She looked at the door. I followed her gaze and saw Hans standing at the entrance of the foyer leading to the exit door. He had his hands folded as he glared at me with a disapproving frown, legs crossed into a number four. ‘Oh, that person…’

‘Seriously?’

‘Tell Montana to bring me a bowl of sliced banana and milk,’

‘Montana is with her sister at the hospital,’ she bowed her head. ‘I can get it for you miss.’ Stella was a very dirty lady, I detest her tou-ching my things.

‘No, s£nd the governess over to me plea-se, I nee-d to speak to her.’

‘Alright,’ I straightened my head and continued watching like he wasn’t there. Eden was so buried in what he was looking at that he didn’t notice Hans. Hans c@m£ behind me and pushed my head.

‘Ow,’ I whined. Eden turned to look at why I cried. He whooped when he saw Hans, dropped his ch!ps and jumped into Hans’ waiting arms.

‘Awwn, I’ve missed you so much Eden,’ they ru-bbe-d nose together. ‘Ook, ook,’ he said pla-yfully. Eden shook his head and cl@pped his cheeks. Hans laughed and nudged his forehead against Eden’s. Melody and himself had a strong communication skills with animals. Even Lee seemed to un-derstand her bunny. Maybe I should get a pet too. ‘I didn’t bring Reece, you know how stubborn that animal is, too destructive…’ Eden nodded in agreement. ‘Hope you took good care of my sweetheart like I instructed you to?’ Eden chirped and saluted.

‘Liar,’ I bu-tted in. ‘You spent all your time with your crush and forgot all about me – not that I remembered you – but you spent all your time with her.’

‘Is that true Eden?’ Hans asked with one brow raised. Eden grinned. ‘Crush?’ He looked at me.

‘He got heartbroken, she dumped him… Hey Eden! Look at your fellow monkeys!’ Eden jumped over the chair from his arms and sat on the floor. I chuckled as his eyes wi-de-ned at the sight of his fellow monkeys though another breed.

‘You,’ Hans pushed my head again. ‘So you couldn’t bother to call me back or answer my calls,’

‘You hung up so I went to do something more fruitful with Eden.’ He leaned his weight on his forearms which was on the rest of the chair. His face c@m£ close to my ear.

‘And how did that turn out for you? You eating banana ch!ps and watching this is not a Iris thing to do,’ I rolled my eyes and looked at his face, shifting my head back to create space between our faces. ‘So, you didn’t miss me?’

‘If I did, I would be trilled to look at your ugly face,’ I turned my attention back to the television before he saw the excitement in my eyes. Inside, I was dying to jump on him and k!sshim until we both forget how to breathe.

‘Tut tut, you are not a good liar,’

‘You see it as a lie when I am not lying,’ he jumped over the chair and plopped himself too close to me. ‘You are too close.’

‘Why didn’t you miss you? I missed you.’ He said pettishly.

‘Missing you is an unreliable thing to do,’

‘Ouch,’ he placed his hand on his che-st. ‘You cut me real de-ep love, real de-ep.’

‘Miss Hildegarde,’ I scoot closer to Eden and turned my b©dy sideway to look at the governess, Miss Patty. ‘You s£nt for me?’

‘I’ll be returning to school in a week, but I nee-d a maid to as-sist me since Montana and Moira will be too busy from now on so…?’

‘Who would you like? Someone like Montana?’

‘plea-se no,’ I pleaded. ‘Someone who doesn’t talk too much…’ I sma-cked Hans’ hand away from my th!gh. ‘But isn’t quiet. Someone who is fast, neat and polite.’

‘Vanessa will do just fine, I’ll s£nd her over immediately.’

‘Thank you…’ I sma-cked his hand again. ‘Miss Patty,’

‘Mrs. Paterson,’ she corrected. ‘And you are welcome.’ She looked at Hans who was still trying to place his hand on my th!gh. I sl@pped his hand off again.

‘Iris, st©p hitting my hands,’ he huffed.

‘St©p it,’ I whispered yelled. Mrs. Paterson walked out. ‘What is wrong with you? She was watching.’

‘So what? You’re my girlfriend,’ he grinned and nodded with pride. ‘Yes, my girlfriend.’

‘Are you done drinking your pride?’ He rolled his eyes and f0rç£fully re-moved my hand from his. I sighed in defeat and let him sl!phis hand into my dress. I wore a dove grey flare dress with white gladiator sandals. I fought the turning in my stomach, the tingles on the surface of my skin and that weird heat. I ignored it because it was odd.

Hans didn’t seem to notice what he was doing to me as he was busy living his dream of c@r£ss!ngmy th!ghs. Like I said, my th!ghs seemed to be very alluring and my second main attra-ction. I rolled my eyes to Eden, he was looking at Hans’ hands in confusion, probably wondering what he was doing. Eden tilted his head and itched it, he was a monkey who loves learning and very inquisitive. I sma-cked Hans’ head. ‘Hands off Hans, Eden is watching.’ He re-moved his hands and straightened up, but his eyes still remained there.

‘I want to t©uçh you,’ he whispered.

‘Try it and I will pluck out your eyes,’ I dragged my dress down to cover up the temptation. ‘Did you come here to do ru-bbish or whine?’

‘Actually, I c@m£ to take you out, wanna see a better movie?’

‘Hmmm,’ I didn’t feel like going out. ‘No, I would prefer to stay home, I’m way too tired and I have piano lesson in an hour.’

‘Oh,’ he threw his head back. ‘What would I do now? I really want to spend this evening with you and not for anything else if you are misre-ading my earlier action.’ My mind wandered back to the questions I had been dying to ask.

‘Hans, can I ask you some questions that you will answer?’ I asked nervously. ‘You must answer it even if it will make you uncomfort…’

‘No,’ he whined, sinking down the chair in disapproval. ‘Don’t ask me what I think you want to ask me, let that be in the past…’

‘If I don’t get my answers, I will never move on…’ He lazily threw himself on the floor and pla-yed dead. ‘Oh come on Hans, just answer me…’ He stuck his ton-gue out to exaggerate his deadness. ‘Hans plea-se,’ I begged. ‘plea-se.’

‘Fine,’ he grumbled. He pushed himself back to the chair and folded his arms with a childish pout. ‘What do you want to know?’

‘Where did you sleep with Violet?’ He gro-an ed at the question. ‘Come on,’ I tug at his sleeve. ‘Answer me.’

‘In my car,’ mental note, don’t enter his car. ‘Which car?’

‘I alre-ady sold it.’

‘Good, in the driver’s seat or backseat?’

‘Dammit!’

‘Hans,’ I elbowed his stomach.

‘Both,’ he muttered. I bit my lower l!pbitterly.

‘Was she good? Was it that good?’ I asked jealously.

‘You are hurting yourself,’ I sma-cked his head. ‘Yes, it was that good, in fact Violet is a S-x queen, I must admit that.’ My eyes welled up with tears. Of course he would say she is better, I never actually felt my S-xual experience because I only did it for money and I had three people bothering me mentally.

Idiot, you haven’t even tried it yet with Hans!

But he will still choose her because she is better.

Oh God.

‘Ow!’ I cried when Hans fli-cked my head. ‘Why?’

‘St©p comparing yourself with her, you are better than her.’

‘But you enjoyed yourself so why defend me,’ I scoffed irritably. ‘You can pretty well go back to her since she is so good at what she does, the queen like you said.’ I turned my back on him and faced Eden who was watching us in confusion.

‘Iris, I only sle-pt with Violet because I felt like she was you and I was missing you so bad but…’

‘So Violet was a better replacement for me, huh? You couldn’t just get another who-re out there to pound on while you m0@n my name, but you had to do it with my sister. I’m not talking to you again Hans, get out of my house.’ I stood up and stomped to the elevator hall.

How can he tell me to my face that he sle-pt with her while thinking of me?! Is that suppose to make me feel better!

You asked.
‘Iris, come on!’ I ignored him and continued my angry stomp. I reached the elevator and punched the bu-tton. ‘Iris!’ I looked over my shoulder as he ran to me. He puffed when he got to me. ‘You can’t be mad, I’m sorry and I did warn you not to ask.’ I whirled around to face him.

‘How many more times did you sleep with her?’

‘Are you being serious right now?’ I glared dagger at him. He raised his hands up in surrender. ‘None, I never tried it after that day but we did k!ssa lot of times.’

‘How many?’

‘I don’t know, I didn’t keep count and yes, I felt and still feel guilty. I’m sorry I used her to replace you, I’m sorry if I enjoyed something I was helpless not to. I’m sorry if your sister is just too s£dûçt!veand a temptress, but cut me some slack here, I resisted her for weeks after that, didn’t I try?’

‘Did you use protec-tion?’

‘Iris!’ He exclaimed. ‘plea-se st©p it now.’

‘Yes, or no?’

‘No,’ he grumbled. ‘I wasn’t planning to just randomly have S-x with anyone so you don’t expect me to carry $h!t around every single fv¢king place I go.’ He was getting upset, my questions was starting to annoy him. But I can’t st©p, can I?

‘Did you carry out a test to make sure she didn’t infect you with any disease?’ I asked with a defiant look and fold of my hands.

‘Yes, and I was diagnosed with HIV,’ he said sarcastically.

‘Whatever,’ I stepped into the elevator and pressed the fourth floor bu-tton.

‘Are we really going to fight about this?’

‘What do you think?’ I sneered. He held the door from closing and glared at me. ‘Look Hans, I nee-d time to think about this, I haven’t forgiven you just yet.’

‘You opened up old wounds for me and now you are going to snob me for God knows how long?’ He flared. ‘If that is what you want, then fine, suit yourself. Just know that by the time your jealousy fever cools down, I might just love the freedom of singleness.’ He let go of the door so it would shut.

Did he just indirectly break up with me?

He didn’t indirectly, he directly told you that you two can never work if you keep on with your jealous state.

And he thinks I would beg? He is mad, he is insane and don’t know who he is trying such ru-bbish with. I also love singlehood, let’s dance to the music then.

Stubborn, you are too stubborn Iris.

It’s Hildegarde to you.

⚡ Hans’ standpoint ⚡

I pushed the door to dad’s office aggressively, the double doors flew open and ban-g on the walls. Theo and Fred were there with him, talking about something in whispers. ‘Hans, have you finally lost the last bolt holding your sanity together?’

‘Yes, yes I have!’ I threw my hands up in the air and brou-ght it down to scatter my hair. ‘Women are so annoying and impossible to plea-se! You do this, they nag, you do that, they still whinge! What can one ever do to plea-se them!’

They chuckled. ‘Whom amongst them did it this time? Your mother?’

‘No, not her, Iris.’ I began pacing around angrily.

‘Can you all excuse me for a while?’ It was meant to be a polite question but dad’s tone is always accompanied by command. Theo quietly walked out with Fred.

I can swear Theo was mother’s b©dyguard.

‘Now, sit down Hans,’

‘I can’t, my feet is reckless,’

‘What did she do?’

‘Okay, I sle-pt with her sister – don’t crucify me I was drun!kand hor-ny– and Lee blunted it out but we alre-ady sorted it out before I got here. Now she brou-ght it back again and asked for details, I told her and…’

‘Never tell a woman what she says she wants to hear because de-ep down, they don’t want to hear it. When she asked you, she was expecting you to cover up with something the truth but not the truth. Just like when your mother would ask me if she is getting fat, even if she is as fat as the house, I would deny it. Admitting it is like an insult to them, a big insult.’

‘So, I did wrong by telling Iris?’ I itched my head.

‘Yes, what questions did she ask you?’

‘Where I sle-pt with Violet, I said in my car and then she asked which car, I told her I sold it. In the driver’s seat or backseat? I honestly told her both…’ He shook his head. ‘She then asked me if she was good? If the S-x was that good. I honestly told her yes because her sister is good… Wow, now I listen to myself, that was a stupid reply.’

‘Exactly, you should have told her she was so bad you regretted it. What else did she ask?’

‘She said, I quote, “you can pretty well go back to her since she is so good at what she does, the queen like you said.” I told her that I did it un-der alcohol influence and I missed her…’

‘Wrong Hans,’

‘I know that now. The next thing she did was spit out some foul words and then stomp away. I ran after her and tried to talk to her but she wouldn’t listen, claimed I replaced her with her sister. She openly admitted that she would prefer if I’d used a who-re than her sister…’

‘Her sister was wrong but use a who-re, the same thing.’

‘How many more times did you sleep with her? She asked me that. I told her none other but we did k!ssa lot…’

‘She didn’t ask you if you k!$$£d her, just how many times you sle-pt with her. Learn to cleverly avoid questions. I am guessing she asked you how many times you k!$$£d her and you replied you didn’t keep count and you felt guilty. Then you foolishly told her that you are sorry for enjoying what you were helpless not to. Hans, you don’t admit such to a woman’s face.’ He said with a knowing look.

‘But I was trying to be honest,’ I whined.

‘Women love honest men but there are some times the men nee-ds to keep their honesty to themselves. Situations like this is where you must shut up. What else did you foolishly blunt out?’

‘She asked me if I used protec-tion, I didn’t so I told her the truth. Then she asked me…’

‘If you carried out a test, you gave her a sarcastic reply and the conclusion to it was she told you she nee-ds time to think and you told her by the time she finishes thinking, you might not want to d@t£ her anymore. Am I right, or right?’

‘Right.’ I said embarras-sedly.

‘Congratulation, you are officially single,’

‘Dad,’ I pleaded. ‘I c@m£ here for women advice.’

‘Don’t snob or give her time to decide on dumping you, s£nd her messages every time you have to less£n her anger and add gifts to it. If you ignore her, especially when she is the stubborn type, you should k!ssher goodbye.’ He pla-yed with his pen between his f!ngers, a smile on his face.

‘s£nd her an apology message and keep s£nding her gifts and love messages until she gives in, right?’

‘Right,’

‘Thanks dad,’ I smiled. ‘Times like this is why you are useful.’ I said jokingly. He frowned. Mom bur-st into the office, muttering to herself.

‘You two, am I getting fat or is this dress the reason Dahlia said I’m fat?’ She asked huffily. I looked at her, she was getting fat indeed.

‘Y…’

‘Of course not,’ dad replied sharply. ‘How can she say you are fat? You look perfect just the way you are, beautiful and slender.’

What a lie.

‘Are you sure?’ She looked at herself. ‘I do look fat.’

‘Never, if you are fat, I would have told you, right?’

‘Hmm,’ she stro-ke her chin. ‘True, she is a kid anyways, thanks honey.’

‘Mom, maybe she is saying that because you are eating too much recently. You know in cartoons who eat most is a fat person so Dahlia might be saying that because of how you are eating.’ I added as evasive as I could.

‘I will reduce what I eat then, thanks my babies, love you both.’ She k!$$£d her hands and blew us a k!ss. She bounced out happily.

‘See what I mean? If I had told her yes, heaven will come down on us. She knows she is fat, but doesn’t want you or me to admit it to her face, that is an insult. Next time you are asked something that will offend them, just tell them the truth in a non-offensive way or lie.’

‘Got it, thanks dad.’

‘Get out of my sight, you have overstayed your welcome…’ Phoenix barged in.

‘I nee-d money, I’m broke again,’ he announced. ‘Hey bro.’

‘Dad just received a lot of money, bother him.’

‘Hans!’ I scurried out. ‘Phoenix, get away from me! Bloom!!!!!’
