Seth arrived at his village and quic-kly met with his uncles explaining everything to them.
“Hmmm, this is serious, but if your girlfriend mother is that wicked why not leave that girl to avoid more trouble in the future, one of his uncle said.
“Uncle plea-se the children should not be punished for their mother’s mistake. They are freed alre-ady, all we nee-d now is to banish this witch spirit so she won’t commit more havoc, Seth said.
“I un-derstand you but this is a strong one and there was a man who always do such a thing and its been long I’ve seen him, another said.
“Where can I find him plea-se? Seth asked and his uncle heaved.
“Even if you find him I don’t think he will agree to help you, he replied.
“Uncle leave that to me, just tell me where I can find him, Seth said.
“You won’t know unless I take you there, but pray ha-rd that he agrees, his uncle said.
“Okay uncle can we go now? Seth asked but his uncles looked at him and knew he meant business,
“Uncle what na? I’ll drive you down there, Seth said when they were not saying anything and 2 of his uncles decided to go with him.
They arrived a compound with an old hut and entered. An old bent man c@mÂŁ out and they greeted him,
“Welcome, your faces looks familiar but I can’t remember where, the man said to Seth uncles and they laughed.
“Don’t trouble yourself papa, you may not know us but we know you, one said.
“Okay okay plea-se sit down and I hope there’s no problem? The man asked.
“Not really papa, but we brou-ght this for you, Seth said bringing out drinks and the man smiled.
“Thank you thank you, but there must be something you want me to do for you, else this drinks won’t be here, I know these things, the old man said.
“Yes papa that’s true. We are here for your help, Seth said and the man looked at him hoping to hear more but one of Seth uncle cleared his throat and told the old man everything.
“Very interesting story but I’m not interested, you can take your drinks and leave, the old man said when Seth uncle was done.
“Papa did we say anything wrong? Seth asked.
“Yes, I st©pped doing that over 10 years now when I was pursued like a bad criminal and evil spirit because of your white man religion. Go to them let them help you! The man shouted.
“Papa don’t talk like that, ………”I should talk like what then? This was a gift, a family gift pas-sed down throu-gh generations. Same way your white man religion has the evangelists, prophets and the rest of them is the same way we were given different gifts from our ancestors but its left for us to choose if to use it in the good way or for the bad. I have friends who uses leaves in the forest to cure all kind of sickness and the person will be healed, and I also know of many who uses same leaves to lock people up and do bad…. their choice.
I know people who witches were scared of because they attacked them giving them no peace, and I know of many who supported witches…. In fact they were the ones who expo-sed the weakness of the good ones and they got killed so the witches can operate freely…. Their choice.
I used mine for good. I hate to see people terrorized and I moved from one place to the other seeing how I can bring peace, yet I was called evil. They turned the heart of my own children against me condemning my gifts and everything about me. They turn the hearts of the people into nons-en-se civilization taking the jobs of those who had the gifts to give medication and put it in the hands of the doctors seeing ours evil.
If the whites wanted ma-king our lives better that’s fine, but completely wiping our culture and tradition and taking what’s originally ours modernizing it to their taste is the real definition of evil. re-ad the bible carefully and see the Christianity you feel is the whites began in Africa. Check out the old testaments, you’ll see calabash and some practices that is purely African but they called it evil, even the saviour when he was a baby his parents respected tradition and didnt deny him that, but today how many of us wants to hear tradition when it comes to our children? How many of us wants to even give our children our traditional names? Suddenly our traditional names will affect their children negatively and change their destiny and they prefer bearing the whites name…. White people traditional names while yours is evil, Gullible people! The man angrily shouted while Seth looked at him speechless and looked at his uncles who gave him “I told you” kind of looks.
“Papa your anger is un-derstood, but not everyone sees tradition as evil plea-se, it is the bad eggs that spoils the good ones and people tend to see only the negative side of it than the good side. But the fact still remains that no matter what we do, there are areas we have to go back to the ancient paths because there are still some good left in many of them, just that religion has closed our eyes to the truth, Seth said and the man laughed.
“Indeed it has, You know the funny p@rt of it? They preached us evil yet they go back seeking powers from the evil ones themselves and the most funny p@rt of it is, the evils ones are holding bibles now preaching in churches using their rejected gifts to perform miracles for still gullible people. Look at how confused and stupid we are, that’s why we are like this because we want to fake who we are not without recongnizing who we are first. Cant you see Isreal, are they like you people? Nons-en-se, the man said and hissed and Seth heaved and sat up well.
“Papa this is your gift and this is what you do. Innocent children wants your help because this woman b©dy may be used for evil and we want to avoid that. Spirits don’t die I know but you know how to handle things like this the traditional way, plea-se don’t say no, Seth said.
“I am very sorry I am bent and old now, I may not survive it, the old man said.
“Do you know anyb©dy else that can do it? Seth uncle asked and he heaved.
“Will you be able to do the sacrifices they will ask you to bring? Those people uses dark f0rç£s will you be able? The man asked and Seth coughed.
“Uhmmm papa looks like I’ll come back because I can’t take any decision Now but thank you for your time, Seth replied.
“Okay, sorry I couldn’t help you, the old man said giving them back their drinks but they rejected it.
“No papa its for you don’t do that. We’ll come back, bye papa, Seth said.
“Thank you, Seth uncles said shaking hands with him while he happily waved at them as they left.
“What are you going to do now? Seth uncle asked him but he didn’t reply.
“Seth? The other called and he looked at them.
“How did my mother die? Did you hear that man? Did you hear him? When my mother was receiving treatment traditionally she was getting better but you carried her from there to the hospital that was newly built in the name of the church said, where they packed all kind of drips into her that killed her less than one week, did you hear him? Seth angrily asked.
“Seth don’t start. That was 20 years ago and it wasn’t our decision but your uncle that was in the city who thought that was the right thing to do for his only sister. How were we suppose to know taking her there will kill her? One asked.
“She was getting better uncle. I can remember taking food to her and she was asking me about school and everyone, uncle she was getting better and I felt life in her voice when we talked. But 2 days in the hospital I saw my mother going gradually and I complained but you said the doctors are experts, Seth said controlling himself and his uncle t©uçhed him.
“Its okay son, that was our mistake and we take the blame but believe us when we say we did that to save her life but it wasn’t enough. We are sorry, his uncle apologized and he sniffed when he saw Maria call.
“Hello babe, he picked up.
“Hi did you find one? Maria asked.
“Yes I did but he’s old and he said he can’t help because it may kill him, Seth replied.
“Wooo! Can’t someone else do it ap@rt from him? She asked.
“He asked if we can carry out the sacrifices they will ask us to bring, Seth replied.
“What sacrifices? Ahhhhh! Maria shouted.
“plea-se tell the pastor this because I told him we will be coming back, Seth said.
“Okay let me call him, Maria said and dropped the call and called up the pastor in the church who was resting.
“Hello Maria, he picked up.
“Sorry pastor were you slee-ping? She asked hearing the tone of his voice.
“Just resting, any news? He asked.
“I just called Seth and he said he found an old man who said he wont be able to carry it out because it might kill him because of his age, and he also said the people he knows will require sacrifice from us which I’m scared, Maria replied and the pastor smiled.
“Even Jesus did sacrifice with his own blood, he un-derstood it better, even you have sacrificed in one way or the other. It depends on the kind of sacrifice they want, if its human blood then no way, but I want to talk with the old man who says he can’t do it, is that possible? The pastor asked.
“Yea, on phone right? She asked.
“Yes give him my phone number and tell him to put me on call when he’s there, the pastor replied.
“Okay Pastor, I’ll do that right away, Maria said and dropped the call and transferred the message to Seth.
“Uncle can we go back? If you can’t its okay I can go alone, Seth said when they were very close to the house.
“Ahhh Seth can’t we wait till tomorrow? One asked.
“Uncle you won’t un-derstand, I want this over and done with, don’t you want me to get married? Seth asked and they laughed.
“Let’s go let’s go, his uncle said and he smiled reversing back to the old man place.
Just like what the pastor told Maria, Seth quic-kly called the pastor to speak with the man and surprisedly he quietly listened to the pastor till he was done speaking.
“So you mean to say its finally my turn to die? I can’t stand it, this is no physical exercise for it will break my old bones, besides use your power na and do it, the old man said and the pastor smiled.
“one thing you dont know is God can use anyb©dy! When Jesus said he can cause stones to worsh!phim, what does stones signify traditionally? What if it was alre-ady designed by God it should be you? Why not taste God and see just this one time, if you survive it you can boldly prove those people wrong that your gifts can also be used for good and they will See God can use anyb©dy to accomplish his work and I will be with you, the pastor replied.
“Did you just say you’re a pastor again? The old man asked.
“I’m God servant, the pastor replied.
“I like you, true I won’t have any problem if everyone was like you. When are you bringing her corpse? The old man asked and Seth shouted out of shock…………..
Maria was humming happily after returning from the morque and made arrangements for Nkiru b©dy to be moved and Francis was just looking at her.
“Sister what’s ma-king you this happy? He asked.
“Simple because you’re getting better. The orthopedic doctor said you have a minor case and you can walk again, now that’s good news, Maria replied and a nurse entered just immediately which they greeted themselves.
“You’ve been scarce today leaving him alone, he even had a strong erection this morning, the nurse said and Francis rolled his eyes.
“Thank you nurse, so you can’t keep secrets? Francis asked embarras-sed.
“Strong erection? Ahhhhh looking at my brother is he not a strong man? Leave him joor, Maria said un-derstanding what the nurse just told her and the nurse laughed and left after giving him his medication.
“Sister where’s Joe? I promised myself that I won’t forget this one question today, Francis asked and Maria happy mood changed.
“He has not been found since then? Pains didn’t let me remember to ask about him, Francis continued when Maria said nothing and she let a breathe out.
“Dear Lord, this one thing is left for you to do, plea-se complete your good works, Maria silently prayed…………….
