EPISODE 30
“Don’t they look perfect together?” Lisa said to Caleb when she saw Ethan and Aisha at the dance floor. Caleb was just staring at her smiling face. She really looks gorgeous tonight. Caleb was just ogling at her when he saw a guy approaching their table. The man was looking intently at Lisa. Caleb flares up in annoyance.
“Then would you like to dance as well?” Caleb stood up immediately offering his hand to Lisa. Lisa eyed him suspiciously.
“Damn this woman! can you stop your pervert thoughts!” then he for-cedly pulled her to the dance floor. Lisa crea-sed her brow as she pouted with her arms crossed. “Shall we?” Caleb smiled victoriously.
“Do I even have a choice?” Lisa glares at him but then she holds his hand as they started to dance with the music. The first love song ended then another song was played, some guests decided to join the others.
“When you wake up each morning, and you feel like calling,

“I’ll be there for you,” The song continued.
Aisha can feel Ethan’s heart beating clearly. She can smell his cool fragrance and she can feel his cold breath in her ears. She’s loving the tenderness that she is feeling at the moment. But she never heard Ethan spoke to her since the other day. Though she knew that Ethan is not mad at all, but his sudden silence gave her discomfort.
“uhm, E-Ethan…?” She called his name in a hush voice
“Ehm…” He answered.
“A-are we good?” she asked, still leaning at Ethan’s shoulder.
“ehm, Of course.” He smiled moderately. Aisha was not convinced so she looked at his eyes, as if looking for something that is not there. Her forehead speaks off her worries.
“Why? is there something wrong?” Ethan asked as he smiles lightly. Aisha shifted her gaze sideways. Seems like something is off, she kinda feels nervous all of a sudden. But why?

Aisha and Ethan was silent for a few second as they listen to the song. Ethan can see her hesitation. She really wants to say something but she was thinking twice.
“uhm, Ethan… W-what if, what if someone lied to you?” She mumbles unconsciously.
“Eh? What do you mean?” He asked.
“ah, what if you’ve been lied to? What will you do?” she tried to fix her question. She looked at him. Ethan gaze somewhere as if he’s thinking carefully.
“Well, basically I will get angry at that person. But it depends on the reason though.” He answered.
“And what if that person deceived you?”
“well, that’s a terrible case. I don’t think I can ever forgive that person.” His voice is firm. Aisha gulped. She felt her knees tremble a bit but Ethan held her lower back.
“Are you okay?” he asked her.
“Y-yes! I’m sorry.” She smiled unsteadily. “I-I just feel sorry for a friend.” She explains.
“You don’t look good at all; do you like to go back?” Ethan queries.
“ah, yeah sure.” Aisha fake a smile when they went back to their table. She saw Eli and Master Omni smiling at them.
The host continued the celebr@tion but either Ethan and Aisha spoke the whole celebr@tion. They only speak when they are being asked.
After the post celebr@tion party, each guest started to bid their goodbyes. Caleb and Lisa said their goodbyes to the couple.
“Make sure you send her home safely.” Aisha eyed Caleb dangerously.
“Of course, Just count on this gentleman!” Caleb br@gs.
“Stacy, are you sure you will entrust your best friend’s life to this person?” Lisa complains.
“Ha-ha! Of course. Just go and be safe. Call me when you get home.” Aisha smiled at them. Lisa hu-g her before they totally left.
“Then I’ll get going too.” Master Omni approached them. He cares Eli’s hair who was soundly sleeping at Ethan’s shoulder.
“Take care Grandpa, thanks for coming.” Aisha smiled at him.
“Anything for my grandson.” He smiled back.
“Ethan, take care.” Master Omni patted Ethan’s shoulder then he ki-ssed Stacy on the cheek before leaving.
“Bye grandpa. Call us when you get home.” Ethan spoke.
The hotel is almost empty, the staffs started to fix the hall. Larry approached them to let them know that the car is ready.
Inside the car, only Eli’s vague snooze can be heard. Larry doesn’t know as to why these couple are so silent all throu-ghout the drive.
Ethan laid Eli on his bed as soon as they arrived home. Aisha, on the other hand was standing outside the mini terrace of their room. she was looking at the bright stars while in de-ep thought. After a while, Ethan stood beside her as he gazed at the stars in the sky.
“Ethan, what if one day you will discover that the person you thought you’ve found was not actually the person you were expecting her to be?” Aisha asked out of the blue. There was silence for some seconds.
“Care to elaborate it further?” Ethan asked as he faced her.
“Ethan, I nee-d to tell you something.” She faced him earnestly.

“Caleb, Caleb! Please wake up! Caleb!” Lisa’s tears are clouding her vision as she embr@ced the unconscious Caleb on her arms.
“Please open your eyes! Don’t just leave like this!” she continued to sob. She’s covering Caleb’s wounds but blood keeps on flowing.
“Please someone help! Please someone call an ambulance!” Lisa screamed on top of her voice. Some pas-serby stopped on their tracks as they look at them.
After a while, an ambulance came over.

At the Williams residence, two people were standing next to each other un-der a starry night.
“What is it that you want to tell me?” Ethan asked Aisha.
“Ethan, I don’t know if you can ever forgive me but it was never my intention to do such a thing. I-I, I am not———” Aisha got interrupted when her phone rings. She smiled at him. then her phone rings again.
“Answer it first, it looks like it’s important.” Ethan said in un-derstanding. Aisha nods then she answered her phone without looking at the caller’s identity.
“Hello?” she answered. She can hear sobbing on the other line. It’s Lisa! Why is she crying?
“Lisa, try to calm down first and tell me what’s happening?” Aisha is a little bit worried.
“A-Aisha, I-It’s Caleb, ldksfbdgfdbfsdjj…” Aisha heard Caleb’s name but she didn’t un-derstand her next words.
“Lisa! Speak slowly and clearly please. Tell me what happened to Caleb.” The next thing Aisha did was to grasp a breath as her eyes wide-ned.
“Is everything alright?” Ethan went near her as he tou-ched her shoulder. She faced him.
“E-Ethan, It’s Caleb, he is in the hospital!” she embr@ced him.
After twenty-five minutes, Ethan and Aisha arrived at the hospital where Caleb is. They saw Lisa outside the operating room, crying all by herself while leaning on the wall, curling to her feet. She looked desolated so Aisha run near her and embr@ced her ti-ghtly.
“Calm down Lisa, please.” Aisha embr@ced her ti-ghtly as Lisa continued to cry on her shoulder while Ethan stood beside them, watching them with worry.
Earlier, Aisha fret when she heard that Caleb was rushed at the OR because he was shot. Aisha didn’t know the whole story since Lisa was also distressed when she called. Ethan can’t let her drive alone with her mental state as of the moment so he accompanied her to the hospital. After a while, Lisa cools down. Aisha held her up and leads her to an empty seat.
“Lisa, can you tell us what happened?” Aisha asked her.
“W-we, we were driving halfway to my apartment when suddenly—–” Lisa broke down as she remembered their traumatic experience.
“A gray SUV van had overtaken us. We thought they were just drunk so we didn’t mind them, but they stopped in front of us. Some armed men got out as they approached us but Caleb was swift to shoot at them first. He tried to drive back to where most people are but they followed us. Caleb got out of the car, then I heard gunshots everywhere. The last thing I saw was that Caleb was already lying on the ground!” Lisa tried to relay the story to them. Aisha held her breath. Once again, her fear rocketed. Not for herself but for the two of them. She held Lisa’s arms.
“Lisa, did they see you?” Aisha asked with de-ep voice..
“I-I think so.” Lisa answered. Aisha’s li-ps trembled a bit but she tried to hide it.
“Did you see their faces?” Ethan suddenly asked.
“I-I’m not sure. I was so afraid to look at them that time.” Lisa answered.
Ethan was in de-ep thought when someone got out from the OR, running speedily. Aisha stood and held her arms.
“Excuse me, I just want to know how’s the patient with a gunshot wounds?” She asked the male nurse.
“I’m sorry I’m in a hurry. We nee-d to secure blood for him.” The nurse answered then he left.
“Blood?” she crea-sed her forehead. Caleb’s blood type is AB+, hope they have stocks for that kind of blood type. She started to worry as she unconsciously walked back and forth.
“Hey, calm down! everything will be alright.” Ethan holds Aisha’s arms as he embr@ced her. at least, Aisha feels secure in Ethan’s arms. After a while the nurse came back as he strides quickly inside. Then after a minute the doctor came out.
“Are you the patient’s relatives?” the doctor asked.
“Yes Doctor, how is he?” Aisha answered
“Hi, I’m Doctor Brown. You nee-d to know that he is not in good condition since he lost a lot of blood. unfortunately, we do not have any stock for his blood type as of the moment. Do you know someone with type AB+?” he asked.
“his father, but I don’t know if he is in the City.” Aisha was already baffled because she knew that Caleb’s father is in the North State. They are not compatible either since she is type B. guess she doesn’t have a choice but to call Caleb’s dad. She is about to dial General Archedeus number when she heard Ethan interrupted.
“I am type AB+.” Ethan volunteered. Aisha looked at him in surprise.
“Don’t worry, I got this.” Ethan said then he ki-ssed her forehead.
“Please follow us mister.” The doctor requested. Ethan followed
“Thank you,” Aisha mumbles before Ethan totally entered the operating room.
Aisha and Lisa sat silently as they waited for the result of the operation.
“Who are those men? Are they bounty hunters? No! It’s impossible!” Aisha was trying to be optimistic.
“Aisha, I forgot to tell you. Before Caleb totally lost his consciousness, he kept mentioning a word, I think it’s “BONES”? —–” When Aisha heard the word bones, she shudders unexpectedly.
“I didn’t know what he means but he kept repeating that word.” Lisa continued.
“No! how is that possible? Are they trying to mess with the people close to me to lure me out?” Aisha pondered in silence.

*Hours later*
“Why don’t we go home first and let Caleb rest for a while.” Ethan suggested when the operation was successfully done. They Already transferred Caleb in a luxurious Private room.
“Ehm, let’s do that. Lisa, sleep in the house for the meantime. Don’t go back to your apartment for now. We don’t know if they saw you or not but I don’t want to risk your life too.” Aisha said
“Thank you.” Lisa uttered.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then. I’ll just stay here with Caleb tonight.” Aisha smiles at them.
“No. You should go home too.” Ethan was annoyed.
“But someone nee-ds to stay here tonight.” Aisha pleaded.
“I already asked some of my men to stay here. Let’s go home first, I know everyone nee-ds rest tonight.” Ethan insisted.
Aisha was skeptical about leaving Caleb but she realized how tired everyone was. They definitely nee-d some rest.
Aisha lends Lisa some of her unused dress after she showed her the room that she will occu-py for the night. she told her that she nee-ds to stay with them for a couple of days since they aren’t sure who they are dealing with. Of course Aisha can’t tell her about the bounty hunters. She doesn’t want to drag Lisa nor Ethan on this fight. It is her fight! She can’t drag them along with her, though they already found out about Caleb. It’s too dangerous.
“I nee-d you to prepare all our best men. Contact me as soon as tomorrow.” Ethan cut the call when he heard the door opened. He saw Aisha walked in while pondering de-eply as she walked toward the bed. She laid down with a heavy heart. She looked so drained.
Ethan approached the bed then he laid down beside her.
“Come here.” He consoles her. He pull her close to his as he cuddles her. “Stop thinking and just rest for a while.” He whispered in her ear.
“Ehm.” Aisha nods as she inched closer, feeling the warmth of Ethan’s arms.

Ethan woke up early but he decided not to awaken the woman beside her since she is still sleeping roundly. It’s been a while that he saw her face with a peaceful look. After preparing for work, Ethan ki-ssed his wife’s forehead then heed outside. He saw Lisa having a coffee in the Sala. He smiled at her, she smiled back.
“Stacy is still sleeping. Please let her know I went ahead.” Ethan uttered.
“Sure I will.” Lisa as-sured him.
After some more minutes, Lisa saw Aisha walking down the stairs.
“Have you seen Ethan?” Aisha asked her.
“Yes. He told me to tell you that he went ahead. He didn’t wake you up since you were sleeping peacefully.” Lisa smiled.
“Oh, Okay. thank you. Have you had your breakfast yet?” Aisha asked but Lisa shook her head.
“I’m waiting for you.” Lisa said..
“I’ll just go and see Eli. I’ll come down in just a minute.” Then Aisha walked back to Eli’s room.
Eli just woke up when Aisha opened the door to his room. she greeted him then they both went down to the kitchen.
“Good morning aunt Lisa!” Eli cheerfully greeted Lisa as he ki-ssed her cheek. They’ve become close when Eli started to visit his parents at the company more often the past few days.
“Good morning handsome!” Lisa replied.
After they had breakfast, Mr. Tanner and some bodyguards accompanied Eli to school, leaving Aisha and Lisa alone. Aisha also requested Lisa to stay in the house while she visits Caleb. Lisa un-derstood what she meant so she agreed. Aisha is Caleb’s best friend anyway. Who is she to even worry about Caleb. They are just merely colleagues. But she was so afraid to lose Caleb last night. The thought of him dying makes her heart aches so much.
Aisha directly went to the hospital where Caleb was. She can see some men guarding the room entrance. She smiled to know how Ethan cares for her friends as well. Aisha dismissed the men guarding the room for the time being. The men obeyed. When she can’t see them anymore, she went inside Caleb’s room. He was still unconscious so she arranged the flowers that she bought on her way to the hospital earlier. After placing the flowers on the vase, Aisha sat beside him. she can see gunshots on his sides and on his leg as well. Good thing it didn’t pene-trate any of his organs or else she will never forgive herself for being the cause of Caleb’s death.
Aisha looked at the unconscious Caleb before her. He was harmed because of her. The bounty hunters are after her but how come they attacked Caleb? if she was right that the bounty hunters attacked Caleb to lure her out, the question is, how did they know that she and Caleb are acquainted to each other? Is it possible that the person behind this hunting games knew her very well? Yes! it’s possible! Her thoughts were in a mess.
“I know I have a lot of enemies and my father too. But this person seems to know me very well. Could it be that —–!” her eyes wide-ned when she realized something, “No! It’s impossible. It wouldn’t be him!” she shrugs her thoughts.
She is still talking to herself when the door suddenly opened. She looked at the door’s direction to see who came in but she stood in surprise. Her jaw drop! Her li-ps quivered. How come he is here!
