~~☆ CHAPTER 17 & 18☆~~
Liam stopped in his track. He felt completely void.
He forgot to breath at that point. He even lost a sense of reasoning the moment he heard her.
‘What did she say.’
Did he actually hear her perfectly or was his ears playing tricks on him’
He wasn’t sure.
He turned towards her direction and their eyes met again. This time, it felt like an arrow was su-cking both their pupils out.
” You said you want a divorce?” He asked and she slowly nodded.
May could only hear the faint beat of heart. She could hear her saliva go down her soft li-ned throat.
Liam began to laugh, scratching the side of his hair, with his other hand still in his pocket.
” I…i…don’t get it. Is this a joke or what?” He asked and may fell her eyes, staring at her thumbs nervously.
” I want to leave. I don’t want to stay here any longer. I want a divorce.” She said boldly, dashing out her previous fear to the winds.
Liam eyes shot wide open. He couldn’t believe what she was saying and for the first time in his life, he felt weird…
He felt scared and it was very weird.
Ms lily, like as she had been hiding somewhere while watching the duo, finally stepped out.
” May!. What are you saying” She yelled and Liam raised his hands asking for silence from her.
May turned her head to look at Ms lily and at that point, she knew heaven was her only goal.
She was receiving hard…bloodsu-cking glares from two individuals and that enough could raise her blood pressure.
Liam grinned evily and stepped towards her. His fingers delicately took up her short strands of hair.
May raised up her chin and stared at his eyes, her bu-tt was glued to the sofa and she couldn’t move an inch.
” Finally. You’ve said what i yearned for, for so long to hear.” He said and May gulped again.
She turned to look at ms lily and ms lily shaked her heads pathetically.
” What Should i say?. Goodluck?. Cause i never wanted you to stay here with me. I’m tired, may. I’m tired of you as well.” He said and pulled up her hands.
” Come here with me.” He snapped and began to drive her along with him.
May was staggering..Stumbling and sobbing loudly as he dragged her.
” Leave me alone!. Let me be!. Ms lily please stop him!” She yelled but Liam’s grip on her ti-ghtened enough to cause red lines on her wrist.
He threw her into her room and he immediately walked towards her big brown closet.
” You wanna go right?. Go! Go!” He yelled, throwing her clothes on her face.
She sobbed heartedly, palming her face as the clothes hanged on every sector of her body.
” This is what we want so i won’t waste time packing your things!” He yelled, dragging out her luggage bag.
He busied himself, arranging her clothes into her luggage. Some part of him wanted her to stay, another part of him chose to be heartless.
Soon, Ms lily walked in to the room. She went straight up to May and held her hand.
” May. You can’t do this. You can’t leave. You are only making matters worse!” Ms lily said and May began to cry in confusion.
” But can’t you see he wants me to leave. I have to. I can’t stay here and watch him treat me this way”
” Where exactly are you running to, May?. You have no parent. Your husband home is your priority.” She said.
” I just want to leave and go anywhere. Anywhere possible.” She said and Liam turned his head, glaring at her.
He stood up, walking towards her like a devil monitoring his prey.
He knew fully well that she would leave here this instant and go meet that stranger that dropped her off.
He knew she had a male friend and that could have influenced her to choose a divorce.
He didn’t want anything to come inbetween them even tho he had no feelings for her.
He dropped the cloth to the ground and now he was standing next to her, making her shrink like a nursery plant.
His face was still as cold as his ice and the environment got tensed a little.
The next word left May’s jaw in a drop.
” Go to bed, Quickly!!” Was all he told her before stepping out of her room like a drained monster.
May watched him leave her room wondering if that was all he wanted to do. She couldn’t un-derstand him anymore.
Ms lily finally turned to her and she took her cheeks and kis-sed her head gently.
” You see, things are getting solved smoothly instead.” She said and May fell her head sadly.
She believed that Liam was only making her stay so that the torturing could continue.
” Now dear…dear… Be a good wife and Go to bed as he had said before he changes his mind.” She said and May sighed loudly.
” The whole place is still messsd up.” May said staring at her belongings that had been designed everywhere on the floor.
” Don’t worry. I’ll help you with it.” Ms lily said and May quickly crawled up the bed.
She tucked herself into her bedsheet and Ms lily rearranged her closet before stepping out of the room.
Meabwhile, In Liam’s Bedroom.
He got to his room instantly and he threw his door close.
He sat down for a while to think. He tried to put his head together cuz nothing in him was alright.
The way he felt after she mentioned of divorce hit him ha-rd and he almost shrinked like a plant.
He sighed loudly and ran his long fingers into his hair.
All the drama he had been displaying in her room, yelling at her and throwing her dresses on her face was all a fake drama scene.
de-eper inside, He never wanted her to leave. Perhaps, because he would miss torturing her and making her sob.
He began to take off his shirt and his perfect masculinity came out visible.
He had a hot shower in his vast bathroom and dressed into his usual nightwear.
He was still bu-ttoning up his shirt when he found himself walking towards May’s room.
He peeked in and found She was laying on the bed like a cute little kitten, forgetting about the worries of two minute ago.
And here he was, still throbbing his head loudly about it.
He walked to her bedside and sat on her bed and looked at her calm face for a while.
He saw a red mark on her cheeks.
He remembered slapping her hardly today, he didn’t know how that action happened but he knew he wasn’t in his right mind.
He also could remember feeling sad after giving her that slap.
He raised his hands and halted them in the mid air. His mindset was telling him to do things he didn’t want to do.
He sighed and tou-ched her body. He sat up to face her and his hands began to grow un-der her duvet, carre-sing her delicate skin with affection.
Soon, May quickly opened back her eyes like a lighted torch and when she discovered Liam next to her, she sprang up quickly.
” W..What are you doing here?” She asked as her heart began to jump out of her che-st.
She knew he had come to make her life more miserable again. Perhaps, he had come with more torturing techniques.
” Is that suppose to be a question?” His voice grew cold again as he stared at her.
She looked down shyly,
” I’m sorry.” She said and he looked away, curling his mouth to a side.
” I shouldn’t be here.” He said and may suddenly looked up at him. It seems her instict were wrong.
He didn’t come to hurt her at all.
She sprang up to sit next to him. She adjusted close to him, making their shoulders brush.
” You can stay if you want. The room belongs to us ” She smiled and Liam stared at her disgustingly.
He was feeling the conversation was getting weird and he was trying not to act cold again towards her.
” Go to bed. I only came here to see if the slap really affected your cheeks. And yes.. it did.” He said nonchalantly.
” I deserved that slap anyways. I shouldn’t have brou-ght out that topic of divorce. ” She said and Liam raised his brow.
He was the one who should be apologising of slapping her that way and she was here…
Perhaps, she hadn’t see what mark the slap had rendered her innocent cheeks.
He didn’t like to see the scars there at all. That was one reason he was here, to know how to get the scar off her face.
At that point in time, He didn’t even know what was going on with his body system any longer.
The more he was feeling a sort of guilt towards her, the more he felt himself getting attached.
May sighed just to swallow the horrible silence
” Can you read me a story while i fall asleep?” She quickly asked and Liam’s jaw drop.
Spending too much time with her had started to give her the nerves of asking him for random offer.
And Liam didn’t like it one bit. He wanted her to fear him…Instead.
She placed a book on his lap and looked at his entirely confused face.
” You want me to read you a book?.” He said and May shaked her heads like a willingly kid
He lazily opened a chapter of the book and he found something un-der him.
He raised the book up and May was resting her head on his lap, giggling cheekily.
” Read to me. I wanna fall asleep.” She said and Liam’s jaw drop again.
Minutes ago, he was roaring like a lion for her to leave his precious home, the next minute, she was here acting like an adorable wife pretending nothing had happened.
” Mn. I should read you a novel right?” He asked and decided to play along.
He cleared his throat and began to fli-p the pages of the book.
” Emma and Sade had been married for years but on this faithful night.. ”
” Hey!” She laughed, sitting up. ” Read it like a storyteller.” She gestured.
” And do i look like one to you?” He started to get upset again.
She curled her li-ps and pinched his cheeks.
” Fine. I’ll read it to you rather.” She said and picked the book from him.
Liam couldn’t un-derstand how he still managed to stay remain in her room and have the close relationship with her.
At that point, he couldn’t think of any other perfect time in his life than this precious moment.
Wait…Did he say precious moments??.
” Okay. Listen carefully. It has a de-eper moral lesson.” She said and cleared her throat.
” Sade loved his wife and took her like his precious possession. But his wife didn’t. One day, Sade left…”
” Why did Sage leave?” Liam said palming his cheeks lazily.
May blinked, staring at the book.
” Um..B..because his wife treated him unfairly.” She said and Liam li-p outturned in disapproval.
” So..When Sade left, he fell in love with a better woman whom he rendered all his affectionate love to…”
” What then happened to the other wife?” Liam cut her off again.
” It said here in the book that she went to marry someone else with amnesia and her life became miserable afterwards. The end.”
She closed up the book and Liam was rendered totally speechless.
” Was that the end?.” He asked and May sighed.
” T..that…That wasn’t part of the story at all.” She said sadly and moved closer to him. Liam raised his brow staring at her.
She held his palm, joining her tiny fingers with him.
” Liam. I know de-eper down you still do love me and care for me. Whatever thing I’ve done to you to cause you this heartless, i am de-eperly sorry.. so sorry. I’m ready to do anything to get our love back.
I want you to remember those good moments we used to have together and then, return back as this perfect couple which everyone envies…”
” May.” He cut her off and she shut her li-ps, gulping down in.
” May. What the hell are you talking about?” He asked, his eyes turning gla-ssy.
” I’m talking about me…Your wife. The girl you call your precious stones. May. The girl you married, It’s me.” She said smiling while tearing up as well.
” No…” He began to stand on his feet.
May quickly stood along with him. She quickly hug-ged him ti-ght.
” Please don’t go. Please stay here with me and try to un-derstand me.” She said, we-tting his shirt.
Liam looked into thin air as his hands slowly peeled himself away from her grip.
” Go to bed.” He told her and she shaked her heads, sobbing loudly.
” I won’t go to bed until i know you can tell me you love me.” She said.
” Go to bed, May. Don’t make me change my mind.” He said and she sniffed in her watery nose.
” You are so unfair!. You are like Sade wife!” She yelled and ran to tuck herself in bed, covering her face with the pillow.
Her loud murmur and crying filled the entire room.
Liam stared at her for a while before stumping out of her room. He closed her door behind without giving a second thinking.

THE NEXT MORNING.
May woke up and rolled on the bed like a sleeping beauty.
She recalled last night and even tho it didn’t end well for her, she enjoyed every little moment she had with her husband.
She crawled out of bed and met a letter on her table. It was Liam’s trickish handwriting.
” You can leave for work if you still care for it.” She said and that was enough to put a smile on her gloomy face.
She rested the paper on her che-st and sighed.
” Liam. I love you” She whispered before jumping down.
She soaked herself in a shower and finally came out to dress up in a Red shirt and black trouser.
She was going to prepare for work, even tho she was quite late today. She hoped her punishment won’t increase.
She took a cab and it dropped her in the company’s parking lots.
Taking an elevator, she came out and was rushing speedily to her office, mistakingly colliding with Emperor.
Emperor held her in place before she could fall.
” Oh. Good morning sir!” She greeted, with a bright smiling face.
” Hey, May.” He returned the smile. ” How was your night?” He asked and they began to move down the Vast corridor.
” Um. It was good as always” she said.
” This is the first time you arrived late at work. Is there any problem?” He asked and she looked away for a while, rethinking what had happened last night.
Of course, she couldn’t tell him the whole story of how Liam tried to send her away.
” Nothing. I just forgot to set my alarm and i woke later than usual.” She said and Emperor shrugged.
” You will be having a new office partner today.”
” Really?” She asked, bulging her eyes. Her office had been really bored for the past few weeks she had been working here.
She knew a new officemate will do the trick.
” Her name is Sunny. Actually, she’s my niece from Korea and she would be your a-ssistant.” He said and May like the idea quickly.
Afterall, she needed a friend to whom she could gist female stuffs with. She hoped sunny was not the likes of Mitchell.
” And your punishment?. I didn’t forget that also” Emperor said, turning to stare at her.
May instantly swallowed her tongue by the way he pointed his gaze at her. Her five senses immediately woke up.
” I will tell you what to do at Lunchtime.” He smiled and finally excused himself, walking away.
May opened the door to her office and met the newcomer, Sunny.
” Hey..” May waved and Sunny waved back. She dropped her bag on her table and they turned to exchange handshakes.
” Nice to meet you” they exchanged formal greetings and they both sat down uniformly.
Sunny was pretty younger than may. It seems she was still in her late teens.
” You are…?”
” May. I know you are Sunny. Emperor just told me.” May said and she palmed her cheeks.
” Woah. You are the only girl i know that could figure out my name since i came. It seems you are special to this my brother for him to have told you.” She said and May laughed.
” Let’s get to work. We don’t have much time.” May said and Sunny smiled.
” You are really beautiful.” She said and May suddenly blus-hed.
” Oh thanks. You are cute too” She said in return.
” Are you married?” She continued asking. May rolled her eyes… Oh..she’s a talkative.
” Um..Yeah?. Anything?.”
” You look like someone my age. You really have a small structure. ” she said and May didn’t find that funny.
” Who’s your husband. I’m sure he’s super rich.”
” He owns exactly what Emperor owns as well. Bag designs.” She said and she shaked her heads in amusement.
” Okay. Let’s start working now.” May concluded and they both opened their laptops.
” Do you like chips?” Sunny interrupted again and May felt like slapping her forehead.
She took a little portion of the chips.
” Yeah. I’ll just try a little. Okay, let’s get to work now and i mean it.” She said and they started their work.
” I would love to my dye my hair pink.” Sunny said while working.
” Goodluck.” may Smiled, concentrating on her screen.
” Hey…I brou-ght a Can of dye hair spray. Do you want on your hair too ” She asked and before May could open her li-ps, a dye landed on a part of her hair strand.
” Arg!. Can i work in peace please!” May yelled, gnashing her teeth.
” Sorry” She giggled.
However, Hours pa-ssed and Sunny decided to pay attention to her work.
May stared at her and shaked her heads. She was a hell of trouble.
At Lunch time…
May arrived at Emperor’s office as he had told her.
” Oh you’re here already” He smiled and stood up on his feet.
” I have somewhere to take you.” He said and may bit her li-ps hard. She wondered what this sort of punishment would be.
Could it be around the office. Or somewhere far.
Or somewhat places she could never think of. Her mind went numb.
She followed him to the roof top of the company and on getting there, May eye’s got wide in amusement.
Her tongue got stuck to her throat at that moment.
What she saw?.
It was a small lunch setting. A small table meant for two and a red and white cover on top.
There were two drinks on top with a straw and May couldn’t ask for more suprise.
This reminded her of her honeymoon with Liam some years back. What was Emperor trying to do?
” Wait. This is my punishment?. To have lunch with you?” She asked, widening her eyes.
” Yeah.” He smiled and pulled out a chair for her to seat. She sat down and began to blus-h red.
Emperor came to sit as well and she dropped her gaze shyly.
” Are you scared?” He asked.
” A little bit.” She chuckled.
He palmed her face and his smile came broader.
” I wanted to speak my heart to you. I can’t hold it in anymore, May. I think you should know this.” He said and May stared at him blankly, like she was watching something amusing.
” Look. May…” He said, ti-ghtening his knuckled and May ti-ghtened her eyes lids hard.
She was so curious to hear what he wanted to say that her heart couldn’t stop ban-ging against her che-st.
” I feel bad for you whenever you talk about how unfair your husband treat you.” He said and may looked at him indifferently.
She thought he was about to confess his feelings. What was she thinking.
” I don’t know why but I’m pushed to know who he is. It isn’t fair that he’s treating you this way.” He said and May lowered her gaze.
” It’s nothing to worry about. I’m able to endure everything, afterall, he’s my husband.” She said.
” No. It isn’t done that way, May. I’m sure he’s the cause for you to return late to work. Am i right?” He asked ad she pouted up her li-ps.
So he knew. She didn’t need to argue anymore.
” I like you alot, may. I think you deserve better.” He said and she smiled.
He picked out a drink and gave it to her.
” If no one can treat you the way you want, then I’m ready to sacrifice everything for you. I just want you to be happy ” He said.
” i just wish Liam would be like you.” She said, clearing her eye lids.
” Liam?. Your husband is Liam…Cole? Just asking.” He shrugged and she blinked.
” Yeah, Liam cole. How did you know?” She asked and Emperor was the next to feel suprised.
He just picked any random name and boom…it was him. He didn’t want to believe this rare truth.
Liam?. Cole?.
” He’s One of the amba-ssador of bag designs.” She said and Emperor world completely stopped moving.
He looked at her like he had seen something entirely shocking.

LIAM’S OFFICE.
Liam was working in his office when he Mitchell walked in.
” Good morning.” She said dropping a cu-p of coffee on his desk.
Liam smi-rked, staring into the cu-p.
” Why am i receiving special treatment this good morning?” He asked and Mitchell folded her hands.
” Cuz you are my boss” she said and Liam shaked his heads pathetically.
He knew that after yesterday when he caught her calling someone on the phone, he learnt never to trust her.
He stood up, taking his phone.
” I’m sorry. I’ll be back. I need to have a call.” He said and left the office immediately.
Mitchell saw that he had left and had walked far off, she returned to his desk and turned on the computer.
She went throu-ghhis files while peeking her head continously to see if he was coming.
” Pa-ssword.!” She gr-unted. She remembered when Ray told her to check a particular file on his system.
She went straight to the software and clic-ked it open. The pa-ssword appeared in full like a billboard system.
She smiled in acheivement and quickly wrote it on her palm to avoid loosing it.
When she saw Liam’s footsteps approaching, she immediately rearranged the system and stepped aside like nothing ever happened.
She bit her li-ps hardly, feeling very proud of herself and for her swift movement. She knew she deserved a thumbs up from Ray.
Liam walked in and adjusted the Cctv camera in his office. Mitchell’s eye wide-ned immediately she saw him.
CCTV?!.
Her mind bursted open immediately. What kind of creature is this Liam of a thing.
She wished she could go back in time and make amends immediately. Her armpit began to soak with miserable hot sweat.
” Hey so…about the coffee..” He sat down and tried to turn on his system. His system was also connected to the camera up there.
” Wait. Um..you can’t use your computer. It’s malfunctioning.” She said, grabbing hold of it and Liam grinned.
” Malfunctioning?” He asked and throated a chuckle.
” I have to go give it to the programming manager.” She said and Liam stopped her wrist fiercely.
” I know what you are hiding. You don’t want me to watch the recoreded video huh?!” He grinned and her skin went cold.
He laughed again and Mitchell pressed her teeth together in fear.
He played the video on his system and everything that happened the moment he came in to office in the morning, showed up on his screen.
” Oh. See someone who said she isn’t theif.” He said and Mitchell bent her heads worriedly, gulping hard.
He stood up and leaned on the table, close to her face.
” Mitchell. Tell me. Who sent you?” He asked calmly.
” W..what do you mean.” She stammered.
” I caught you calling him on the phone yesterday so you don’t need to prolong it with a lie. ” he grinned and Mitchell felt her heart jump.
She was in serious shit right now. All she could do was to pray for a safe death.
