Chapter 16
An unedited short chapter.
_________
_______________?
Dammie drove sadly towards George’s house. She kept thinking about what she c@m£ across in the hospital.

At a time, she would smiled at herself for who she met today as well.

When she got to the hospital, the doctor she went to meet had to refer her to another doctor which turned out to be the h0ttie she was dying to see.

She got to know his name as – doctor Samuel.

“Gosh….she even has a sweet name.” She had thought happily.

After the series of test…

“Congratulations, miss Dammie Scott. You’re six weeks gone.” Doctor Samuel had said to her.

“What? How do you mean?” She screamed.

“Ohh….sorry maybe you didn’t un-derstand me. You are six weeks pregnant.” He repeated.

She smiled awkwardly to conceal her agitation.

“Oh…thank you. I’m grateful.” She was not really good mentally.

“Make sure you are always careful and come for ante natal care always.”

“Thank you.” She had said.

Now, she’s in thought. Pregnant again?? This is the tenth pregnancy she’s ab-orting for George. Yet he claimed he loved her and wants to marry her.

She continued driving abs£ntmindedly till she got to George’s place. She was more angrier when she found out he wasn’t at home.

She kicked the door angrily and took her phone to call him.

“What would you like to order?’ The waitress asked again.

“Go. We’d call you again.” George said.

The waitress whose tag shows “Grace” bowed and left.

“Now, sit and st©p your drama.” George said to Alice.

She looked at George and back at Cindy before she walked out of the restaurant hastily.

Cindy looked down on her food as different thoughts ran into her head.

“What’s Sam wife looking for here with another man? The last I heard, she has no siblings or friend. Her only friend stays in Paris. Then…what’s this?” Cindy thought.

“Don’t make me look like a fool here. What the hell is happening?” Emmanuel asked gently.

George looked back to where Alice was looking at before and his eyes wi-de-ned.

“The same lady…different man. This would be easy than I thought. She seems to love men. Then…” His thoughts was distracted by his phone ringing.

After he received the call, he stood up to leave. He spared Cindy a glance before leaving which Emmanuel saw but said nothing.

“Dear, can we just meet tomorrow after work? I nee-d to go back to work now.” Cindy said.

“Why?”

“Just suddenly having a headache.” She answered.

“Does it has to do with the two that walked in here earlier?” He demanded.

“Well….yes. Just surprised to see a married woman with another man here.” Cindy said simply not wanting to go any dee-per.

“It happens. Woman sometimes don’t know what they want.” Emmanuel said taking some jui-ce.

“Yeah..” Cindy muttered still in thoughts.

“Why are you so concerned?” He asked.

“Oh…that? Nothing. Just happened to know her.” She answered tactfully.

“Don’t let that affect us. You scared the hell outta me.” He said tou-ching his che-st.

“Sorry dear.” Cindy smiled.

“It’s alright. let’s leave alre-ady.” Emmanuel said.

They stood up and left the restaurant after Emmanuel had settled their bill.

they both walked to their respective car after sharing a short k!sson thel-ips.

Emmanuel was the first to drove out. Cindy was about to ignited the car when someone tapped her car’s window.

“hello…” She heard.

She wined down the car glas-s and looked out.

“Mrs…Bas-sey?” She called more in a question manners.

“Can I talk to you plea-se?” She asked.

“Sorry…I’m late for work alre-ady. Lunch is almost over.” Cindy replied calmly.

“Can I have your contact plea-se?” Alice pleaded.

“You can ask your husband. He has it.” Cindy said innocently.

Alice blinked ra-pidly before talking…

“No. Give me yourself.” Alice pleaded.

Cindy shrugged and called it out to her.

“plea-se…I nee-ded a favor from you.” Alice said after thanking her profusely.

“What’s that?” Cindy asked.

“Don’t say a word about me to my husband.”

“Why?”

“promise me plea-se.”

“Alright. No problem.”

“I’m counting on you.” Alice said as she walked to her car slowly.

Cindy wined up the car glas-s again drove away with heavy thoughts in her head.

She actually stayed behind in her car to have some talks with Cindy…

Alice cried all the way home in her car as she kept on driving.

“why is my life ruin like this? I’m done for finally. I’m dead!” She lamented sadly.

……
………
“Sorry, I can’t hear you. What did you just said?” George asked Dammie for the uptenth time today after telling him she’s pregnant.

“I said I’m fv¢king pregnant with your baby!” She yelled.

“Why are you acting like a toddler. What were you watching before it turned to pregnancy? Shouldn’t you know how to take care of it like you always do?” George fired.

” I don’t care. This is the tenth pregnancy I’m ab-orting for you George. You are a shameless guy. I’m promising you, I won’t ab-ort this pregnancy! Marry me like you always promise.” Dammie shouted.

“Even if I’m to marry you…it isn’t now. I’m on a deal. I nee-d to finish everything before I can think of any f’cking marriage!” he ranted.

“I don’t care if you’re on a deal or not. All I want is a ring on my left f!nger!” She snapped angrily.

“Really? Then suit yourself. Keep that bastard pregnancy and nurture it alone. I’m not re-ady.” George said.

Dammie thought about the mission ahead of her and had a rethink immediately.

“I can’t be pregnant and win Samuel or Phili-p’s heart. I’d look so horrible to them. It’s better I quic-kly jump to this solution.” Dammie thought Inwardly.

“How much are you giving me?” She asked.

“Same as always.”

“Add ti-p. Generous one.” She said.

“I will. Just get that thing away from your b©dy.” George said and ca-ressed her expo-se l@ps.

“Don’t t©uçh me..”

He continued c@r£ss!ngher th!gh till she gave in. He leaned in to k!$$£d her hungrily and r0ûghly. Soon he was pounding ha-rd into her as she screamed out his name in ecstasy.

“Let’s go celebr@te your engagement which we couldn’t celebr@te the other day today.” Samuel said to Cindy after work.

“Really? It has gone alre-ady.. Let’s wait for my wedding day then we can celebr@te all we want.” Cindy replied as they both walked to the parking lots.

“No. Let’s go. Where should we go to? Do you know any lounge or restaurant or bar. Just anywhere.” Samuel asked.

“I know nowhere. Emmanuel is always the one that choose where we meet.” Cindy answered.

“Okay…let’s go to a nearby one then. Let’s go to Diamond h0tel, Restaurant & Bar.” Samuel stated.

“You knew almost all the h0tels and restaurant in this world.” Cindy chuckled.

“That’s because I always have fun a whole lot with my wife.” Samuel said smiling broadly.

Cindy wanted to say something about Alice but she kept quiet remembering the promise she made to Alice.

“Oh…I see. Your wife must be enjoying you a lot.” Cindy said smiling a little.

“Of course. Now, let’s go or do you want me to drive us there?” Samuel asked.

“No. I’d just drive behind you.” She said and was about to walk to her car when nurse Lizzy suddenly showed up from God knows where.

“Hi doctor Samuel. Are you going home now? plea-se take me home. I didn’t c@m£ with my car today…it’s with my mechanic.” Lizzy said moving more closer to Samuel. Almost hvgging him.

Cindy sh0t her a cold look but she tried her very best to be calm.

Samuel took a step backward before responding.

“Sorry nurse Lizzy. I can just give you transport fare that’d take you home. I got to be somewhere with Doctor Cindy here.” Samuel said looking at Cindy but she looked away immediately obviously angry .

“Why am I even angry? Not like he’s my b©yfri£ndor husband…but he’s my special male friend. I got to be even jealous.” Cindy thought as she chuckled lightly .

“Where? Is it official? Is it an emergency? Are you attending to any patient? You can just let me tag along…right?” Lizzy said enthusiastically.

“No. You can’t. It’s pri-vate and we nee-d our privacy.” Samuel replied gently ma-king Cindy angry the more.

‘Why can’t he just turn her down bluntly?’ Cindy thought.

“But.. ” Lizzy started but Cindy quic-kly shut her up by saying…

“No but nurse Lizzy. He has explained to you calmly as he ought to. Why are you being clingy? When did you started working here that you didnt know where to stay and where not to. St©p being clingy! He is married – happily married.” She spat with lots of anger towards her.

Samuel moved closer to Cindy and held her hand gently squee-zing it. It seems to have effect on her as she bec@m£ calm immediately.

“You dont have to do this.” He whispered.

“sorry nurse Lizzy….we have to go now!” Samuel said as he led Cindy to his car.

“I thought you said he’s married. What are you doing with him then? Shouldn’t he be on his way home to meet his wife?” Lizzy said raising her voice.

Cindy st©pped and looked at Lizzy with her best smile then continue walking beside Samuel to his car.

“Cindy or what are you called. You are calling for trouble and I’m re-ady for you.” Lizzy said silently clenching her hand into a fist.

“Doctor Samuel, I won’t give up on you…” She added as she watched them drove away.

She turned around and started walking away slowly.

“Gosh! You hit it there.” Samuel said smiling.

Cindy looked out of the car saying nothing.

“You aren’t saying a word.”

“Can’t you re-ad what she’s trying to pas-s to you?’ she finally spoke.

“What? I dont un-derstand.”

“Don’t worry then. Just be careful.” Cindy said.

“Tell me now.” He insisted.

“Nope. Find out yourself. You ain’t a kid.” Cindy said rolling her eyes.

“Alright.”

“Did…did you took lunch with her earlier?” She asked but quic-kly regretted asking him. She wished she could just unasked him.

“No. I attended to a patient. It was so relieving there’s a patient to see me at that p@rticular time.” Samuel said taking a look at her.

“Oh…okay.” She muttered although she was happy.

“Did you two has some unsettled issue?’ He asked.

“Who?”

“Lizzy…”

“Do not mention her name in my pres£nce anymore.” Cindy said.

Samuel chuckled.

“You ladies and your problem.” He said.

“What about my car?’ Cindy asked trying to change the t©pic.

“You have nothing to worry about. It’s safe over there. I’d come to take you tomorrow morning then you’d go home with your car tomorrow evening.” Samuel said taking a glance at her.

“Thanks.” She muttered.

“Candy Cindy…” Samuel called.

She gave no response.

“Are you still thinking about that nurse or.. what?” He asked.

“No..not at all. Maybe I’m just tired. Backache and some little upset In my tummy. I wondered what could caused it.” She said.

And she was thinking about Alice too.

“Should I give you some mas-sage then?” He asked laughing.

“St©p it. Don’t make fun of me.” She smiled.

“I’m serious.”

“Don’t be serious. Mum would do that for me.”

“oh…okay. We’re here.” he announced.

He pu-ll-ed up at a corner and killed the engine. They both got down as they walked side by side into the restaurant.

“Welcome to Diamond. We hope you have a great time here.” A waiter said as they took there seat.

He placed the menu on the table and they ordered for fried rice and chicken with an orange jui-ce.

Almost immediately, the waiter c@m£ with their order and left. They started eating.

“So, when are you guys planning to get married. It’s high time you leave daddy’s house.” Samuel asked.

“Our introduction is in two weeks time.” Cindy said taking some jui-ce.

“What if I didn’t ask. You’d have kept it away from me, right?”

“No. I can’t do that. If it’s possible for a guy to best the bride…you’d have be the one to best me.” Cindy said chuckling at her word.

“Well…I can just dress like a lady. Cross dressing is allow in this country.” He laughed heartily. Thank goodness he didn’t choke on his food.

“you are something else.” Cindy said.

“How’s he doing? Gosh! It’s been long I saw him last.”

“Really? well, he’s doing okay. You’d see him soon.” Cindy said.

“Two weeks time, right?” He asked as he remembered his wife implantation is in two weeks time too.

“Yeah.”

“Can’t really wait.”

Cindy was about to said something when her phone rang.

“Phili-p.” She said silently.

“That is the spirit man! Just keep on communicating with her for the next two weeks. So that she wouldn’t think of you as the one behind it when we eventually carry out our plan. just follow my lead.” Thomas said to Phil!pimmediately he finished calling Cindy.

“Okay man. Thank you. I’m eventually on the way to get her.” Phil-ips aid.

“You’ve gotten her alre-ady bro. She’s yours.” Thomas grinned.

“Oh boy… I gotta leave here and go home. Dad and mum has been complaining I no longer stay with them at home again. And I don’t want them to discover anything about what we’re up to.” Phil-ips aid.

“Alright bro.” Thomas said gulping down the jui-ce he was served.

They stood up and walked out of the house.

“I’m home!” Cindy announced joyfully as soon as she walked inside. Samuel had just dropped her home and has drove away.

“Welcome daughter” lawyer James said

“Welcome my dear.” Mrs Veronica greeted.

They were in the sitting room watching a program. Cindy walked to them and hvgged them one after the other.

“Thanks dad. Thanks mum.” She said sitting on a couch not far from them.

“Your food is in the dining.” Mrs Veronica said.

“Thank you mum…but I’ve eaten. I’d just take some ice cream.” Cindy said.

“With who?” Her dad asked.

“Samuel.” She answered

“Wow. He still has your time despite being married.” mrs Veronica wondered.

“Their friendsh!pis more than that.” lawyer James said.

“He’s celebr@ting my engagement.” Cindy said smiling…

“That guy..” Laywer James smiled too…

“I’d be in my room.” Cindy said and stood up going upstairs.

“Alright.” They responded.

“I’ve always admired their friendsh!p..” Mrs Veronica said to her husband who just smiled

Cindy got to her spacious room still feeling little stomach upset.

She walked to her closet first to find a cloth she would changed into after bathing. She took a pink short nightie go-wn and put it on the be-d before going into the bathroom after wra-pping a blue towel around her b©dy.

She was not expecting what she saw in her p@n-ties – her monthly flow.

“Oh no! Not again.” She almost cried thinking about the hell she would go into all throu-gh the night.

Her menstrual period always comes with painful cramps. Especially she being a vir-gin, the pains are always unbearable. Sometimes, she blamed herself for being a v!rg!nbecause of the pains she go throu-gh every month.

She took her shower slowly before turning it off.

She walked outta the bathroom to wear her cloth. She wore her p@n-ties attaching a pad and also wore the pink shi-t nightie go-wn.

A sharp pain suddenly pierced throu-gh a tummy as she let out a loud scream holding her tummy and breathing heavily as she fall to her be-d.

“Ohh…oh my goodness.” She gro-an ed in pain.

Still holding her tummy, she located her phone on the be-d to call her mum.

?m…mum…” She cried.

?Cindy…What is it?

?my…my tummy.

Her mother got it immediately as she ended the call and rushed upstairs.

“What happened to Cindy?” Her husband asked.

She st©pped to answer him.

“Her menstrual cramps is at it again.” She said as she ruched off.

“She nee-ded to get married soon.” He thought as he went to the kitchen to make her a h0t tea.

He took it to her room and found her laying on the be-d on her back as Mrs Veronica ru-bbe-d her stomach in an anticlockwise direction.

“Sorry baby.” She would say at interval.

“Here…” Lawyer James stretched her the cu-p of tea.

Mrs Veronica took it from him and asked Cindy to sit up. She obliged slowly as she drank from the h0t tea. She la-id down back again as her mother continued ru-bbing her stomach.

Lawyer James sat on the couch in her room muttering some words of prayer to himself.

….****….

Samuel got home and Alice welcomed him happily.

“Welcome hunny. How’s work?” She asked hvgging him.

He hvgged her back before they dis£ngaged. He sat on a sofa in the living room.

“Work was fine.”

“Great. Did…did you perhaps got to talk to Cindy ,your friend today?” She asked nervously.

“Yes. Why? We do talk everyday.” He answered arching his brow.

“Ohh…nothing.” She said awkwardly.

Samuel stared at her but said nothing.

“It’s obvious….you’re not the one I married anymore. Let’s see how much you can hide whatever it is that you’re hiding.” Samuel thought as he looked away from her.

“Your…your food is on the dining.” Alice said.

“I’ve eaten. Thanks.” Samuel said and stood up walking upstairs.

“What?! When did you started rejecting my food? Or is it because of what Cindy told you today? It’s a lie. You should trust me that I can’t do such to you.” Alice said raising her voice.

Samuel st©pped walking and turned to look at her.

“What do mean? What did Cindy told me and what can’t you do to me? I dont seems to un-derstand.” Samuel asked confused but still he was getting some points.

Alice regretted ever saying that immediately as she faced down unable to look at her husband’s face.
