Kelly laid in Tony’s arms, running her hand
across his che-st. She sensed a change in
Tony’s mood, he was quiet, staring up at the
ceiling.
“Tony, what’s on your mind?”
He turned over on his side, facing her. Playing

“I was thinking I can’t protect you here. In my
own hotel, you were almost taken right out
from un-der my nose. It’s time we head back to
the island, there I will have control over who
comes there.”
She climbed on top of him, she leaned down
and kis-sed him. “Where ever we go, I know
you’ll keep me safe, I trust you. But now it’s
your life that’s in danger too, it’s all because of
me.”
He put his arms around her, the feel of her
body on his was making him hard. Did the
woman not know what she was doing when

Kelly had long ago lost her shyness over

The guard doing the talking was the one who
always did the talking, his name was Hugo,

regarding the man who attacked them.

him talking. Perhaps we should talk in private.”
He said as he looked over at Kelly.
But she was having none of that. It had to do
with her so she had a right to hear whatever it
was. And she let Tony know she wasn’t leaving
the room.
Tony sensed that fighting, or ordering her to
leave would be a waste of breath. “Go ahead
Hugo, let’s hear it.”
“It’s bad Tony. Carter wants you dead. Once
you’re dead he’s going to take Miss Lucas,
keep her for awhile, then-” He stopped, not
wanting to say the rest in front of her.
“Then what?”Kelly practically yelled at the man.
“Go on,” Tony nodded.
Hugo swallowed the lump in his throat. “Then
he’s going to sell her into white slavery, to the
highest bidder.”
Tony slammed hiS fist into the coffee table. “If
it’s a war Carter want’s, it’s a war he’ll get.
Make arrangements for us to go back home.
There we will have home advantage, no one
will get on that island without us knowing.
Also, round up a bunch more men.”
Kelly stood up, she was shaking and scared as
hell, but she could not let this happen. “Tony, I
won’t see you getting hurt, or men dying on
account of me.
Give me to him and end this
before anyone gets hurt.”
His eyes narrowed when he looked at her. Not
taking his eyes off her he ordered the men to
leave and take care of all the details. Once
they were gone he grabbed her, he was angry
and shook her. “Shut up, I don’t ever want to
hear you talking that way. You belong to me
and I’m not letting you go.
Now go into the
bedroom and stri-p na-ked and wait for me.” He
released her and walked away, his fist rolled
into balls.
She ran from the room crying. He was back to
being the cruel monster he was when she was
first brou-ght to him. In anger and hurt, she
took off the diamond ne-cklace and threw it on
the dresser. stri-pping down she climbed into
bed, he could have his way with her but she
would not respond. She would just lay there
like the who-re he was treating her like.
The thought of her wanting to be given to
Carter infuriated him, even though she wanted
to do it to save him and anyone who might be
harmed, or worse, killed. His temper boiled
over at the thought of someone, other than
himself touching her. And that look on her face
when he cruelly ordered her to bed and stri-p
to-re him up inside. He didn’t mean to hurt her,
it was this stupid temper of his.
He walked into the bedroom and found her
laying there on the bed, na-ked. She hadn’t
bothered to cover herself up and seeing her on
his bed he became aroused. Instead of getting
in he stood there, staring, trying to get the
words out.
“We’ll be leaving late tonight, around three or
four in the morning. So get some sleep, I’ll
wake you when it’s time.” He then walked out.
Kelly wasn’t sure what had just happened. She
thought he wanted s-ex, yet he just looked at
her and left. As upset with Tony that she was,
she was hurt that he wasn’t coming to bed.
Laying down she cried herself to sleep.

Kelly tossed and turned. She had gotten so
use to sleeping in Tony’s arms, now without
him, she couldn’t sleep.
Throwing on a robe
she went into the other room. There he was,
asleep on the sofa, his body ba-rely fitting. She
leaned down and with the back of her hand
lightly tou-ched his face, feeling the stubble that
was growing. As mean as he was to her at
times she just couldn’t hate him, because de-eper
down he was a warm and caring man. A man
she had grown to care about, as crazy as that

She was about to turn and walk away when he
grabbed her wrist, pulling her down on top of
him.”Don’t go,”he whispered, taking her face in
his hands he kis-sed her.
It was a warm, sweet
kis-s, his li-ps felt so soft and moist. Relaxing
she melted into him, letting him run his hand
down her back and up again.
“Kelly, my pet, forgive me,” he said with sad
eyes.
She sniffed, close to tears. He was such a
complex man, rou-gh, scary. Yet he often
showed her a soft of himself. She never knew
for sure which was the true side. How could
she, he kept everything bottled up, never
sharing, not letting her in.
“Why Tony? Why were you so cruel? Have I not
complied with everything you’ve asked of me?
Am I nothing but a possession to you?”
stro-king her back he looked de-eper into her
eyes. He saw the pain, the hurt looking back at
him and he choked back a sob.
“You are much
more than that to me, I have become quite
fond of you. I will not let you go. I will not let
anyone hurt you.”
“But you hurt me, Tony, with your cruel words
and the way you order me around like I’m a
dog or one of your employee’s.” A tear rolled
down her eye and he wiped it away.
He sat up pulling her onto his lap, he ran a
finger over her li-ps, down her ne-ck. “There’s no
time to talk, you have to get dressed.”
Getting up he took her hand and went to the
bedroom. Going to the closet he picked out a
dress for her. “Please, put this on, we have to
leave now.”
Sli-pping off the robe she dressed, and then
sli-pped on her shoes.
“Let’s go,” he said taking her hand.
“But Tony, our luggage.”
“There’s no time, we have to go this instant.”
“No, wait.” She pulled out of his grip and ran
to the dresser and picked up the diamond
ne-cklace she had tossed away in anger.
“I won’t leave without this.” She said, handing it
to him. “Put it on me.” She turned around.
He smiled and shook his head, sli-pping it
around her ne-ck he fastened it, then turned her
around to face him. Taking a hold of her face
he kis-sed her de-eperly. “What have I gotten
myself into?” He whispered.
Then taking her hand they practically ran from
the room. When he opened the door there
were several men standing around, waiting.
They all crowded into the elevator, Tony never
for a second let go of her hand. She listened
as they talked, telling Tony that Carter was on
his way here with an army of men who planned
on storming into the hotel, the plan was to
break into his suite, kill whoever got in their
way and grab the girl.
She looked up at Tony and he gripped her
hand ti-ghter. “Don’t worry, we’ll be long gone
before he gets here.”
“Tony, all those people at the hotel, are they in
danger?”
“No, Carter’s not after them.”
He told her,
squeezing her hand lightly.
They ended up in the basement where several
dark colored cars with bullet proof windows
sat waiting for them. Opening the door to the
first car Kelly got in, Tony followed right
behind her, Hugo and a couple also got into
the same car. “Let’s go,” he ordered.
They drove to an old abanded airstri-p where
several helicopters were waiting.
Getting out of
the car Tony led her towards one. The
propellers were causing it to be windy, and the
noise was deafening, she could ba-rely hear him
over the noise.
“Kelly get in now.” He yelled over the noise.
“What about you Tony?”
“I’ll be on the next one, I have things to take
care of here first.”
She threw her arms around his ne-ck, hanging
on ti-ght. “No. I’m not going without you, I
won’t.”
He tried prying her arms off but she had an
iron-clad grip on him and wouldn’t let go.
“Damn it, Kelly, we don’t have time for this.”
She began crying, the sobs making her body
shake. “Please don’t leave me. You promised
to protect me, how can you do that if we’re not
together?”
“Boss,” Hugo spoke up. “Go, I’ll take care of
everything.”
He gave in, how could he not? Seeing how she
wasn’t letting go and how scared she was.
“Alright, but keep me informed every second
till you get to the island.”
Taking his jacket off wrapped it around her
shoulders. “You win, let’s go.” He helped her
up and buckled her in, then he got in and sat
next to her.
She rested her head on his shoulders, she
hadn’t slept and was exhausted. She was
shivering but was not sure if it was from the
cold, or from fear.
They finally arrived back on the island and
landed. Helping her out he put his arm around
her and spoke to one of his men. “I’m taking
her upstairs, I’ll be right back, keep your eyes
and ears open.”
Then he headed towards the house. Leading
her upstairs he shut the door behind them.
“Get some sleep, you look tired.”
“Aren’t you staying with me.” She cried.
He took her in his arms. “As soon as all my
men get here and I make sure everything is set
up then I’ll come back.” He then turned and
walked to the door and opened it.
“Tony,” She called out. Then she ran to him
and flung her arms around him, his li-ps came
crashing down on her’s in a searing kis-s.
Then releasing her, he hurried out.
The sound of helicopters landing and taking off
rang loud within the bedroom, lights flashing,
she went out onto the balcony. The sound of
men’s voice were heard once the helicopters
were gone, then soon it went deadly quiet. She
crawled back into bed, she would not sleep till
Tony returned, she could not.
When the door opened and she saw him
walking towards the bed she sighed a breath
of relief. Just seeing him she felt safer.
Sitting on the edge of the bed he looked at
her. “Why aren’t you sleeping my pet?”
“I was scared, but now that you’re here I will
be able to sleep.
Come, lay down next to me.”
Saying as she helped him out of his jacket and
shirt.
Once he was un-der the covers she snuggled
into him, resting her head on his shoulders.
“What’s going to happen now,” she asked.
“We wait for Carter to make the first move. If
he or his men try to land we’ll know it and be
able to take them out. But I’m hoping I can
talk some sense into him.”
“How? Oh please tell me you aren’t planning on
going to see him.”She sat up, staring at him in
disbelief.
“No. I’m not a fool. I’ll call him and offer the
casino again. And if he want’s another one or
money, then I’ll give it to him.” Tony yawned.
She laid back down and heard him snoring
lightly, he was asleep and soon she too drifted
off with his arm around her.
