EPISODE 3
Debbie called up the lecturer informing him about the embarra-ssment his wife just gave to her,
“you mean my wife embarra-ssed you and even wanted fighting with you?” Matthew asked.
“So you think i am lying? She called out the whole streets and insulted and even cursed me badly”, Debbie said.
‘I Apologize for that, I’ll talk to her when she gets back home”, Matthew said.
“Please do because I won’t tolerate it next time, i only kept quiet because of you and the baby she’s carrying”, Debbie said.
“Don’t worry I will take care of her. My darling I’m so sorry okay, what can I do to make you happy?” Matthew asked.
“Show your wife her place that’s all” Debbie said and ended the call

Veronica retuned home and her 2 kids ran and met her as she stepped down from the car.
As usual she thought her girls wanted to welcome her but she noticed their mood wasn’t good at all.
“What’s the problem?” She asked her first daughter.
“Daddy is so angry, what did you do to daddy?” Her first daughter replied.
“Mommy I’m scared” her second daughter added.
“Don’t worry let’s go in” she said taking them in.
Reaching the sitting room, she met with Matthew who gave her a angry stare.
“Go to your rooms” she told the children and they left immediately.
He stood up immediately and held her angrily,
“who the hell told you to approach Debbie? Who gave you the right to meddle in my affairs?” He shouted.
“I have the right as your wife! Oh she has told you huh? And you are shamelessly showing your anger even to your children” Veronica said.
“Which children? Are they my children?” Mathew asked and she slapped him.
“I can tolerate the insults you’ve been giving to me but what I won’t tolerate is you taking it to our children, my children” She shouted and he pushed her which she let a loud scream as she fell on the couch holding her wai-st.
“Next time you go near her again I’ll skin you alive, if you know what’s good for you, take your filthy self and your bastards out of my house. Your mates are giving their husband’s male children, here you are giving birth to prostitutes in the name of children, rubbish!” He shouted ignoring the cry of Veronica and the girls who ran down when they heard her scream.
“Go get the gate man for me Hurry, call him for me fast” Veronica shouted on her first daughter who immediately ran out to get him and she was taken to the hospital…

That night Debbie returned and met Prisca awake waiting for her,
“I can’t believe you are angry with the truth when you suppose to swallow it and seek for change” Prisca said to her and Debbie smiled.
“The only truth here is you are jealous and ungrateful. When you’ve been enjoying the benefits of that man your mouth was shut and sealed, it was that same man who counted money and gave to me so your mother can get an apartment, did you talk? You can imagine that woman insulting me and all you could do was sight with her and make me look like the Judas. Prisca I never knew you are this ungrateful” Debbie shouted.
“Whatever money you gave to me, I never ask for it did I? You did it willingly but I never stopped telling you the truth. I won’t lie to you Debbie, what you are doing is wrong. Another woman home is on fire because of you that’s………….”
“I am not selling fuel here to put any house on fire neither am i doing anything wrong here. I am only making use of the opportunity i have to enrich myself and be comfortable. When we were here struggling to find food to eat, my boyfriend will be giving me useless complains did you like it? Please its my life so let me be, besides I don’t want to marry him she should even thank me for that. Good night”, Debbie said and fell on the bed to sleep while Prisca watched her surprise.
“Remember there is tomorrow o, don’t you dare get angry when you face the same thing. Just know that its Karma playing and I hope you’ll still be comfortable with it o”, Prisca said.
“That karma will dodge me and come to you because i don’t believe in it, you that is singing it like song everyday you will see it waiting for you outside the door of your house. Rubbish”! Debbie replied and made Prisca speechless…..

There in the hospital Veronica had to give birth prematurely.
She woke up from her unconsciousness to see her mother and her kids beside her,
“mommy”, her children called her then she remembered something.
“Where’s my baby? She lived right?” Veronica asked touching her tummy.
“Yes he did” her mom replied.
“He? How?” Veronica asked and the doctor walked in.
“How are you feeling now? Sorry I understand the night was stressful for you”, the doctor said.
“How is my baby?” She asked.
“In the incubator, don’t worry he’ll be fine”, he replied.
“I don’t understand this he of a thing. I did a scan and I was told its a girl”, Veronica said.
“But you gave birth to a baby boy, sometimes you know God always frustrate our knowledge and surprises us in most cases. I’ve seen a woman expecting a child give birth to twins, this things happens. Where is your husband?” the doctor asked and Veronica burst out in tears.
“Erm doctor you can talk to me instead if there’s any problem. Forget about the husband, he’s dead” Veronica’s mother came in.
“Oh I’m so sorry for that, if so can I see you outside please, the doctor said and left with her mother.
“Mommy I’m sorry on behalf of daddy”, her first daughter said.
“I’m sorry dear, but I don’t think I will forgive your father for what he has done to us. I will take care of you all by myself okay”, she said touching her children.
“You mean we won’t see daddy again? Grandma said daddy is dead is it true?” Her second daughter asked.
“Don’t think about it okay please, all will be well”, Veronica said and the door opened and her best friend Princess walked in.
Her children ran and hu-gged her,
“how are you my sweethearts?” Princess asked them.
“We are not sure,” they replied.
“Its okay alright” , she said going with them to Veronica on the bed.
“He did this to you because of that girl eh? Oh God why didn’t you let me show that girl a lesson the way I wanted to but you stopped me. Now just look at what they have done to you” Princess said.
“Princess its fine, I think it was meant to be this way” Veronica weakly said.
“So now she has succeeded in destroying your beautiful home right and all you can say is that it is meant to be that way?” Princess asked.

“So now she has succeeded in destroying your beautiful home right and all you can say is that it is meant to be that way?” Princess asked.
‘My husband destroyed our home first. He abandoned our marriage vows when he found out i was carrying a 3rd female child, to him i was unable to give him male children. He called our lovely daughters prostitutes and was ready to kill me and my unborn baby because I confronted her. This marriage is over, he can have her for himself” Veronica said.
“No no no I won’t allow this. I mean for what na after all you two have been throu-gh? As long as I am concern I’ll make sure that brat won’t know peace because i am going to give her a good place. She will pay for what she did to your home”, Princess said and the doctor walked in with her mother.
“Doctor can i see my baby now? Veronica asked and a nurse walked in immediately with a wheel chair.
“Sure, We are here to take you there, but you have to use the wheel chair, the doctor said.
“I have no problem with that please” Veronica said and she was helped to sit on the wheel chair.
She was wheeled to the incubation room where her son was shown to her,
“don’t worry he’s doing very good and he will be out soon” the doctor said seeing Veronica was crying already.
“Its okay friend, soon you will play with him” Princess said touching her and she nodded holding her daughters who was just smiling.
“Your brother is so handsome” Veronica said to them.
“Yes mommy his hands are very little”, her first child said.
“And he’s very small”, her second added and she smiled.
“You were looking like that too years ago”, the doctor said…

The gateman informed Matthew of the hospital he took his wife to when he returned but he cared less.
“Will that make you leave your duty post for hours huh? Were you the one helping her in labour” Matthew shouted.
“Sorry sir but the girls were not able to do anything, I had to stay by to help in the running around and to be with your daughters before their grandmother came” the gateman said.
“Will you shut up your mouth and get out of my sight” Matthew shouted and he turned to leave.
“By the way what did she give birth to?” Matthew stopped him and the gate man turned looking at him wondering if he should tell him the truth or keep shut because veronica mother commanded him to.
“Are you now dumb” He shouted.
‘Its a boy sir, though I was asked not to tell you, excuse me sire” the gateman said and left leaving him shocked.
The word “its a boy sir” sent cold shivers to his body and he felt his feet could no longer carry him.
He went inside thinking ha-rd wondering what came over him when the action he did last night displayed before him.
“Oh Veronica will you ever forgive me” He shouted ru-bbing his head in worry and Debbie called on phone.
He hissed ignoring the calls but she kept calling…

“What’s wrong with this man? He’s not picking up my calls” Debbie said but Prisca pretended like she didn’t hear that.
“I am talking to you Prisca, what’s wrong with him?” Debbie asked shouting on her.
“Why are you asking me that? Am i also dating him?” Prisca asked.
“He promised to see me at this time to apologize for what his wife did to me, but unlike him he’s not here yet and he’s ignoring my calls” Debbie complained.
“So you still need apology when you are to apologize to that woman instead? Please take me out from your affairs, deal with your problem because i am not a part of it” Prisca said and left the house…

Matthew was about entering his car to drive out when a horn was heard on the gate, the gateman opened up and two cars drove in.
Veronica mother and best Friend came out with two huge guys which got Matthew scared seeing the look on their faces.
He slowly walked up to them with a sober look, “Mathew Mathew so you can do this to my daughter because of a small girl?” Veronica’s mother said.
“Ma please I was on my way going there……..”
“To do what? I gave you my only child in one peace seeing you were the only son of your parents too. I thought there will be strong bond apart from being husband and wife you two could be brothers and sisters. My daughter was already a working clas-slady, you didn’t met her poor seeking for help, but just because of a male child you reduce her to nothing. You called my grandchildren prostitutes Matthew? Chai God you are lucky that you are the father of those children because I would have so deal with you eh!” Theresa shouted.
“Ma please I know I am wrong, I am very sorry”, Mathew pleaded.
“Oh so you told him?” Theresa asked the gateman who bowed his head saying nothing.
“Anyway I don’t care if this sudden sober look is because she gave birth to male child, the child you almost killed when you thought it was a girl. If I see you near my children Matthew you won’t live to tell the story” Theresa said and pushed him away to get inside.
“Ma please let’s talk about this” Matthew said wanting to hold her but the guys stood in front of him with a stern look stopping him and Theresa and Princess went into the house.
Minutes later they came out dragging bags out of the house which Matthew looked weak because the guys didn’t let him move a step.
“Come put this things in the car”, Theresa shouted on the gateman which he quickly obeyed and they went in to bring the rest.
“This marriage is over, my daughter sweat is in this building but you can have it. Soon you will get the divorce papers so you’ll be a free man, don’t you dare come near my children” Theresa warned after packing her children things.
“Please ma it hasn’t come to this please I beg you. Just give me a chance to make things right” Matthew pleaded.
“Let’s go, Theresa said to the bouncers, they got into the car and drove off.

Theresa and Princess visited Veronica in the hospital but met the children sleeping.
“Where did you two go to?” Veronica asked but each of them carried the sleeping children.
“We are taking them home. They haven’t had a good bath or slept in a comfortable place” Theresa said.
“Please can you help me get some clothes for them? My children has never been in such condition before” Veronica sadly said.
“Don’t worry, their bags are already at home, Princess said.
“Their bags? You two went there why?” Veronica asked.
“So you expect me to leave my children things in that house so that evil girl will use it to harm them? I won’t accept it o” Theresa said.
“Its okay, but did you see him?” Veronica asked.
“I saw the idiot and I warned him to stay clear from my children, in fact just rest I’ll be back, Theresa said.
“OK please tell the maid to take care of them for me” Veronica said.
“You worry too much, bye, Princess said and left with Theresa…

Prisca went to her mom place telling her everything that has happened after she left Debbie, “why didn’t you tell me this all this while? I was wondering how Debbie got the money to give to me but then you told me not to worry, why Prisca?” Her mom asked.
“Mom I’m sorry, but I didn’t ask her for the money she did it willingly” Prisca said.
“No, its still wrong knowing the source of it even if she did it with a good mind. I don’t want you to be part of this”, Her mom said.
“Mom I’m not, trust me, I’ve tried my best to talk to Debbie but her eyes and ears are just closed to the truth. The money is there and she doesn’t want to leave it, I’m just scared for her seeing the way the woman warned her”, Prisca said..
“Hey God! Are you sure you are safe in that house?” Her mom asked.
“I didn’t do anything o and I know I won’t pay the price for what I didn’t commit” Prisca said.
“You think so? You being in a wrong and bad relationship or place can put you trouble whether you were part of it or not. Don’t tell me you’ve not been partaking in whatever she has been bringing to the house”, Her mom said.
“Ah mommy, I am not dating this man and I never asked for those things o abeg” Prisca said.
“Then you have to start rejecting everything from her, can you do it?” Her mom asked.
“Yes I will, in fact I was doing that already when it was getting out of hand. Mom there’s something you need to know, Debbie is pregnant for him, Prisca said and her mom mouth flew open…
