I sighed as I wait for a bus at the bus stop.
I’ve been waiting here but no sign of mom so I decided to call it a day.
I even asked people about her but they said they don’t know her.
A bus stopped right in front of me and some people alighted while others and I boarded the bus.
I eye searched everywhere looking for an empty seat and I sighted one at the back so I walked there.
Seated close to the window was a cute guy.
He had black hair, pretty lips.
He glanced at me then looked away.
I blinked twice to know if I was in a dream or not.
“are you gonna sit or keep staring at me ” he asked still looking outside through the window.
He’s voice is so angelic.
I gently sat beside him, stealing glances of him at short intervals.
He’s just so cute!
I don’t think he’s the interactive type.
I looked around when the song “like you ” by Tatiana Manaois started playing, searching for where’s its playing from.
The cute guy looked at me weirdly, shook his head at my dumb act for not knowing that it was his phone that was ringing and it was beside me.
He picked up the incoming call with a smile on his face.
“hey mom ” he said into the phone, smiling widely.
Wow! He’s such an angel when he smiles.
“common mom, I just left the house few mins ago and you’re dead worried, chill I’m on my way home ” he said and chuckled.
Only if I could find my mom and experience a mother’s love and care.
He burst out laughing and I couldn’t help but smile too.
His mother must be so funny.
“yeah you caught me mom, I was heading to James house but now that you’ve caught me, I’m coming home ” he said and chuckled.
“OK love you too ” he said and ended the call.
He looked at me and saw me smiling but his smile faded and he put on a serious face then looked away.
What! He only smiles to people he knows?
And here I was, willing to make a new friend.
He sucks at making new fiends.
“your pay ma’am ” the Conductor said and I nodded then shook my hand into my bag searching for money.
“here ” that cutie paid his.
“ma’am you’re wasting my time ” the conductor said.
I’m only touching few coins in my bag.
“sorry “I said and started bringing out girly stuffs from my bag so I can look for the money.
“take her pay ” that cutie said, handing the conductor my pay.
I looked at him not even knowing what to say.
He’s indeed an angel.
“thanks ” I said but he didn’t even look at me.
“thank you so much, really thanks ” I said and he sighed.
He placed the headphone that was around his neck on his neck and rested his head on the headrest with his eyes closed.
What an attitude!
I was only trying to show I was grateful but to him I was disturbing his peace.
The bus stopped at a station and he got up to leave
“bye and thanks ” I said as he got down.
Mins later I arrived at my bus stop and got down.
I entered the compound and headed to the door.
I was about opening the door but someone beat me to it from the inside.
It was Cindy and Larry.
“look who we’ve got here ” she said.
I rolled my eyes and went in then ran up to my room.
I don’t have time for fools.
They’re just good together.
Two fools in love.
I sighed and laid on my bed.
What a day!

“Larry I can’t find that so called maid in the house ” Cindy seethed with hands folded around her chest.
“so” I asked rudely.
“so? I want her to prepare me food I don’t wanna eat the leftovers ” she pouted.
“then starve ” I said and she rolled her eyes.
“you’re so impossible ” she said and left the room.
So Caitlyn left the house without permission?
She’s so gonna get it from me when she comes back.
I got up and went downstairs too.
Cindy was eating the leftovers of the lasagna.
I sat on a couch and switched on the TV.
Aiish! Where could she have gone to?
What if she’s in danger? Or was she kidnapped?
Ah why am I thinking like this? What do I even care?
“hey ” Cindy said and sat beside me on the couch.
“leave me alone ” I said and rested my head on the headrest.
“why ” she asked and I sighed.
Great! She ask too many questions and I’m not in the mood!
“I think you should leave now ” I blurted out.
“are you chasing me out ” she asked, feigning hurt.
“just leave ”
“but I’m your girlfriend ” she said and I didn’t know when I burst out laughing.
“seriously? I don’t remember asking you to be my girlfriend “I said, chuckling.
“I mean I just use you to pass time and nothing more ” I added.
“but I love you ” she said sternly.
“Cindy Just leave already, I’ll call you when I need you “I said and took her arm then walked her to the door.
I opened the door to see Caitlyn.
Thank God she’s fine.
“look who we’ve got here ” Cindy said.
Caitlyn walked in and ran up to her room.
“bye honey ” Cindy pecked my cheek and left.
I slammed the door and turned to go meet Caitlyn but stopped when the door bell rang.
It better not be Cindy.
I opened the door to see dad and that slut of his.
This woman is just having an affair with dad for his money.
She thinks she’s playing dad not knowing dad is a smartie.
I rolled my eyes and went to seat on the couch.
Annoying people.

After freshening up, I dressed up and walked out through the door.
I’ve to make dinner.
Already close to the stairs, I sighted Mr Brown and mom Rena.
Holy shit! What’s she doing here?

I quickly took two steps backward so she wouldn’t see me.
I ran back to my room when I saw they were coming upstairs.
I waited a while and I came out then went downstairs.
“what ” Larry asked, judging from my facial expression that something’s wrong.
“Uhm no-nothing” I stuttered and he arched an eyebrow.
“can I go to my room ” I asked.
Gosh what am I saying?
“I mean can you please order something to eat, I can’t prepare dinner ” I said.
“why ” he asked.
“coz, well, I, because, well I’m sick ” I blurted out and he looked at me weirdly.
“ah my stomach ” I said and held my Tommy.
“are you alright ” he asked and rushed to my side.
“I’m not ” I said, wincing in pain.
“ah it hurts ” I lied.
“let me take you to your room ” he said and carried me in a bridal style to my room then laid me on the bed.
“have u eaten ” he asked and I shook my head negatively.
“I’ll just order pizza for us both ” he said and I nodded then he left the room.
What’s mom Rena doing here?.
Is she here for some business or what?
I laid comfortably on the bed waiting for Larry.
My door flew open and he came in.
“already placed the order ” he said and sat beside me on the bed.
We kept mute staring around the room like it’s new.
“that woman that was with your dad ” I said and he looked at me.
“is she a business partner ” I asked and he scoffed.
“she’s just some slut that comes here time to time, dad uses her to pass time and nothing more ” he blurted out and my mouth hung open.
I felt a warm hand close my mouth together and I blinked back to reality.
Mom Rena is cheating on dad.
“why are you surprised, do you know her ” he asked.
“no, I’m just surprised how a matured woman will be a slut ” I lied and he nodded.
“that will be the pizza ” Larry said when the door bell rang.
He got up and went to get it downstairs.
He came up with the pizza and we both ate.
“are you alright now ” he asked and I nodded.
“OK good night ” he said.
“good night ” I said and he left.
I switched off the light and closed my eyes waiting for sleep to envelope me.

After having dinner with mom, I cleared the table and did the ditches while mom go to her room.
I went upstairs heading to my room but stopped when I heard soft sobs coming from mom’s room.
I opened her door and went in to meet her crying.
I went over to her and sat beside her.
She held a photo of a little baby, she was beautiful.
That’s my sister, Caitlyn.
She told me dad took her away from her.
“mom” I called her and she laid her head on my shoulder.
“mom you don’t have to cry, where ever Caitlyn is, I’m sure she’s fine and happy ” I said, patting her back gently.
“mom don’t worry, we’ll find dad so we can see Caitlyn ” I said and hugged her tight.
“just rest okay ” I said and made her lay on the bed.
I covered her with the blanket and sat beside her.
I caressed her hair till she fell asleep then I went to my room.
I laid on my bed facing upward.
My mind drifted to the girl I met in the bus.
She is beautiful though.
Ah back to my sister.
Where could Caitlyn be?
How do we even know her?
Mom said dad took her away when she was just a baby so how do we know her now.
Caitlyn where are you?

I opened my eyes, yawned then stretched and got outta the bed.
I went to the bathroom and did my morning routine then went downstairs.
“hey you’re up ” Larry said as I descended the last stair case

“I already placed an order for pizza since you’re sick so no need to prepare breakfast ” he said and I nodded.
Mins later the pizza arrived and we both ate.
“has that woman left yet ” I asked.
“yeah she left early this morning ” he replied and I nodded.
OK I have to go wait at my usual spot to see if mom will pass by.
What do I tell Larry?
I can’t just blab out all my life story to him just like that.
“Uhm Larry ” I called and he looked up at me.
“we’re almost out of food stuffs so I thought maybe you could give me some money so I can go shopping for the groceries ” I said.
He brought out his wallet and gave me some dollar notes.
“thanks ” I said and he nodded.
I got up and left.

I boarded the bus heading to the grocery store.
Mom’s asleep so I had to come.
I arrived at the grocery and bought all that we need.
I turned to leave but bumped into someone.
The girl from the bus last time.
“sorry ” I apologized and walked out.

Someone bumped into me at the grocery store and it was that cutie.
“sorry ” he apologized and walked out.
I took a step forward and stepped on something making me trip.
I looked and saw a wallet on the floor.
It must belong to that cutie.
I picked it up and went after him.
He already hailed a cab before I got there so I hailed a cab too and followed him.
I alighted the cab and called after him but I think he had his headphone on so he couldn’t hear me.
I saw him enter a house so I ran there.
Already at the doorstep, I tried to catch my breathe then I rang the doorbell.
