Semi Final Episode 49

ANDREA POV

I woke up the next day only to see that our luggage have been packed.

But how? Who?…….I couldn’t finish asking myself that question because I saw my mom by the closet packing the rest of our things

“What are you doing mom?”I asked and she turned to look at me.

“Packing, we can’t stay here anymore”She said softly

“You know we can’t leave here”I said ask went to her

“Yes we can, I will get another job and you can keep on going to your school”she said softly

“You know we can’t afford to leave right now, we have no where to go”

“The savings I have will get us a cheap house to rent”She said and I looked away feeling guilty

“What’s wrong”she asked not missing the look on my face

“I used the savings money for your operation mom”

“So we don’t have any money to rely on”I finished feeling very guilty.

She stood shocked for a while and sat on the floor.

“So we have to stay here?”she asked and i nodded

“We have to”I replied as I sat on the floor with her

“What will we do about the boss? will you stay here and suffer because of her son” She asked

“Don’t worry about me mom, I will be fine”I said

She stared at me for a long time and hvgged me.

“When it’s suffocating and ha-rd for you, tell me, I will do my best to get you out of here” She said and I found the tears coming but I held back.

I won’t let my mom see me cry, not again, I thought.

“I will skip the study session today”

“But why?”Beatrice asked as we both chatted on the phone.

“I have things to do”I replied

“Fine then, we will just do it with out you, Max is not coming too ,so that makes the two of you”she said.

“See you on Monday then”I said and cli-cked off the phone.

I sighed and walked off to the garden, Max isnt able to go and that is because a p@rty is being held or should I call it a luncheon.

Ever since the incident I haven’t seen him, not even a glimpse of him, I might get to see him at the p@rty.

He is probably keeping his distance, his mom wouldn’t stay back and let things get more messier.

I guess I will just have to see him at the p@rty,I thought.

I turned only to see Max standing there and he was starring at me.

He look haggard and judging by his face,he didn’t have a good sleep,I can tell because I also suffered the same thing.

I saw him clench his fist and then he turned to leave, with out even saying any thing to me.

“Max!”I called and he st©pped

“Aren’t you even going to say hello”I said as I stared at him, he still had his back turn to me

“Let’s break up”he said instead

“What?”

“You heard me,Let’s break up! Let’s pretend we don’t know one another, whenever you see me ignore me, I will also do the same”He said shattering my heart into pieces

“Was that what your mother asked in exchange for us to keep staying here?”I asked

“That shouldn’t concern you, just do as I say Andrea, it’s for the best”

“It might be the best for you but it’s not for me but I know that if I should insist on us being in a relationsh!p,I will put you in more difficult situation,so I will do as you say, I will ignore you and pretend not to know you”I said starring at his back.

“Good then, let’s keep our distance, I will take my leave first”he said

“No Max! Let me do that,I will leave first”I said and that’s because I don’t want him to see me cry.

quic-kly I walked past him and though it hurts so much, I will just have to stay away.

MAX POV

I stood watching her leave,I would have gone to her but remembering what my mother had said to me, I took the other path leading to the entrance of the house.

A car was there and I saw Rose parents getting out of the car and then Rose herself, why is she here? We were just going to talk about the engagement with her parents,does she have to be here? I thought as I went towards them greeting them.

“Welcome”my mom said as she walked out to welcome them.

“It’s so nice to see you again”Rose father said shaking my mom.

“What about Max father?”her mom asked

“Well he cant make it today but he has asked me to proceed with every thing, shall we”She said as we all began to walk in

“Hello Max”Rose said beside me and I remembered some thing .

If Rose should see that Andrea works here, she will certainly make it known to every one at school that Andrea is nothing but a liar.

I have to tell Andrea to leave the house,so she won’t be caught.

“Am talking to you Max”Rose said jo-lting me to reality

“Whatever you have to say will have to wait, I nee-d to do some thing, excuse me”I said to the adult who were ahead of us

“I nee-d to do some thing,I will be real quic-k”I said as I ran off.

I went to the maid quater insearch of Andrea only to see her mom

“plea-se is Andrea home?”I asked

“Why? Do you want to cause more problem for her” her mother replied

“I just want to talk to her?”I said

“I think it’s best that you leave my daughter alone, she has been throu-gh a lot young master,so plea-se let her live here with out more worries”she begged me softly

“I know that have been the problem in her life and believe me when I say that I would like to talk about it with you but I have to see Andrea first, plea-se where is She?”I asked

“She went out to do some food shopping” she replied

“That’s a relief, plea-se make sure she doesn’t do any thing during the luncheon, tell her that she should stay locked in or better yet she should leave the house,it’s really important”I said and quic-kly went back to the guest.

ANDREA POV

“Am back mom”I called as I put the groceries on the table.

“Your mom went out to do some serving”a maid replied

“Oh,I will just wait here for her”I said

“Instead of waiting, can you help me take this to the luncheon, I still nee-d to finish here”she said handing me a tray full of desert.

I didn’t want to go there or to see Max but i can’t refuse to help, after all am also a maid some how.

I took the tray and head out to the room where the luncheon will be held only for me to st©p when I saw Max standing beside Rose.

Rose was leaning on him while he held her by the w@!st.

“Don’t they look perfect!”I heard a man say

“Of course they do, that was why we chose Rose, she is perfect for my son”Max mom added

“Now that you two are engaged, we should prepare for the wedding right?”A lady whom I presume to Rose mother said happily.

“Isn’t that too soon”max said

“Of course not, the earlier they prepare for us, the better”Rose said and then she k!$$£d Max on the cheek.

As quietly as I c@m£, I went back to the kitchen.

I can’t believe that Max is now engaged to Rose, is that why he told us to break us,so he could be with Rose.

“Oh you are back! Uh Max c@m£ to see me earlier and told me to tell you not to do any thing at the luncheon,he even said that you should stay in your room till it ends, do you know why he would say such a thing?”My mother said as she walked into the kitchen.

“To hide the truth “I said softly still thinking of what I heard earlier

“What truth?” She asked

“Nothing, I will be back soon”I said as I head out side.

ROSE POV

“It’s now done, am Max fiancee”I said into the phone as I walked out of the mansion

“Oh he is taking it well but………”I st©pped when I saw Andrea walking out of the house

“Isn’t that Andrea!”I said as I cut the call

What is she doing here,I thought as I ran after her .

She hasn’t noticed me yet and she was heading towards the gate.

“Andrea!”I called and she st©pped to stare at me

“I knew it was you! Tell me what you are doing here?”I said.

MAX POV

“plea-se can you just tell me where she is?, I have to see her”I begged her mother who refused to tell me where Andrea went to

“I think you nee-d to st©p young master, you just got engaged a while ago, can’t you live my daughter alone”she asked looking angry.

“I just want to tell her some thing”

“You can tell me,I will rel@ythe message”she said

“It’s some thing I must tell her myself”I said

“If you won’t tell me,I won’t let You see her, so you might as well leave,your fiancee will be waiting” knowing when to resign,I left the maid Quaters.

I walked out throu-gh the back door and was heading to the front door when I saw her and she wasn’t alone, she was with Rose.

This is what have been trying to avoid, now Rose will know the truth, I thought as I head towards them.

“I just asked you a question, what are you doing here?”Rose yelled at the silent Andrea.

“What’s going on?”I asked

“It’s a good thing you are here Max, Tell me what Andrea is doing here”she asked

“I called her here”I said and the two of them stared at me at the same time

“Why?”Rose asked

“I had to get some thing from her and since have done it, she can leave now”I said

“Why do I find it ha-rd to believe?”Rose asked as she stared at the two of us

“It’s the truth, you can leave Andrea” I said and immediately she walked off

“No, Andrea……..” Rose said trying to st©p her but quic-kly I pu-ll-ed her to me and gave her a k!ss

When I was sure that Andrea might have gone, I let her go

“Y-ou- you did that to st©p me from asking right?”she asked

“Just ask me what you want to ask her?”I said

“So you can lie to me again, forget it I won’t ask you, I will ask her when I see her myself”she said turning to leave but then she st©pped and stare at me

“Have been curious about Andrea for a while now and you k!ss!ngme have fuelled my curiousity,I will find out the real reason that she is here. that I can as-sure you”she said and walked off.

I hope she won’t be able to find out, I thought as I brou-ght out my phone and s£nd Andrea a text

“Tell me where you are and I will come get you”.

I have to talk to Andrea or Rose will find out every thing.

ANDREA POV

I walked throu-gh the busy streets still feeling shocked about the engagement than of Rose seeing me in Max house.

Just then I got a text and when I saw that it was him, I didn’t reply.

I didn’t feel like talking to him, not now or ever.

Wanting to buy myself some time, I went to a restaurant and ordered a drink, I sat by the window thinking the event of the day.

Just then some one pu-ll-ed out the empty chair in front of me and sat on it .

I looked at the person only to see Jack sitting There.

“What are you doing here?”I asked

“I happen to be lunching here when I saw you walk in”He said

“But Beatrice said you were studying at the cafe with them”

“No! I didn’t go to the cafe, I decided to skip it and it’s because of you”he said suddenly and i wondered what he meant by that

“What do you mean?”I asked wanting to know

“Max got engaged today right?”He asked

“Yes he did”I replied softly

“How are you doing?”he asked

“What do you think”I said as I held back the tears

“I knew this would happen, I should never have let you get close to him”he muttered angrily

“But I did, even with the warnings, I fell in love with him and now I have to suffer the consequence”I said sadly

He held my hand and k!$$£d it softly ,I stared at him in surprise and he gave me a smile

“What can I do to bring back your lovely smile”he said jokingly

“I doubt that you will be able to do that”I said

“Then can I just be your companion till you decide to go back home”he asked

“I would rather be alo……..”

“I promise not to bother you”he said quic-kly and I had no option than to let him stay.

He did as he said, he didn’t disturb me and the only time he said some thing is when I talk to him.

Some how I enjoyed his company and I thank him for being here with me,trying to distract me even if it’s for a while

It was late when I got back to the mansion, the place was quiet and every one would have gone to be-d.

I sighed as I walked on,I pas-sed throu-gh the garden and then I st©pped when I remembered how Max and I had come here just to spend time with each other.

It was magical then and I had been happy but now am sad, so very sad.

I was about to go back when I saw Max watching me.

With out expecting it, he walked towards me and hvgged me.

“Thank God you are back! I was so worried”he said as he held me ti-ght in his arms

I found myself wanting to hvg him back but Instead I pushed him away and turned to leave only for him to pu-ll me back

“Why should you be worried about me when you have a fiancee now”I asked

“About Rose,I can explain, I……….”

“Save your excuses for some one else, you asked me to pretend not to know you and also to ignore you, I was reluctant to do it before because I still had a bit of hope that you will come back to me, that I should give you time, that time is all you nee-d but seeing you today at the luncheon…….”

“You were there?”He asked

“Yes! I was there, I heard them talking about your engagement and I saw Rose holding you like you were her possession”I replied still feeling hurt by what I witnessed a while ago

“You shouldn’t have seen that”he said softly

“Why? So you can keep on with the lie?”I asked

“Andrea I……….”

“Did you sleep with me knowing about your engagement to Rose?”I asked

“Andrea I …….”he said prevaricating

“Just answer me!”I yelled

“She told me about it before you c@m£ to my room”he answered

“So you knew and yet you sle-pt with me,why?”

“Because I love you and even though I knew that I was getting engage and i would have to break up with you, I will still keep on loving you, Andrea you n…….”he moved wanting to t©uçh me but I moved back and he st©pped what he about to say

“You are now engage, we should keep some distance”I said

“You are right, we should keep some distance”

“Though I love you, we can’t be together and so I wish you all the happiness in the world Max,you deserve it”I said as I walked past him

“You will have to Max because I will also try to move on”I said

“And will that be with Jack?”he asked

“That doesn’t concern you”I said and turned to leave again

“Be careful of Rose, she now suspects some thing, good night”he said and walked into the mansion.

“I don’t think I will have a good night,I really don’t think so”I whispered as I watched him leave

JACK POV

I got to clas-s quite early, I know Andrea always got to clas-s very early but I was disappointed to see Rose there.

“Good morning “she said

“What’s so good about this morning” I asked

“That am seeing you instead of Andrea”she replied

“Well am not feeling good that am seeing you here”I said

“Don’t you even want to know why I wanted to talk to Andrea?”she asked

“Why?”

“I found out her secret,the secret she has been hiding”She said

“What?”

“Judging from your expression, you knew her Secret too right?”she asked and quic-kly I pu-ll-ed her by the shoulders and push her to the wall

“Don’t even think of letting out her secret”

“Why?”

“Andrea is scared of the other students finding out that she is poor and the daughter of a maid, so just as you have found out,keep your mouth shut”I said and she smiled

“So that was her secret?”she asked

“What?”

“Thank you for confirming my suspicions,I knew Andrea was lying when I saw her at Max house yesterday and I decided to investigate myself, you just helped me by telling me everything now”she said as she pushed out of my arms.
“I really thank you for the info but I can’t guarantee that I will keep it a secret just like you and Max did”she said and left the clas-s.
quic-kly I took out my phone and dialled Andrea number…..

ANDREA POV

I walked into the school only to see the students starring at me.

And while they stared,they kept on muttering things and they were also starring at their phone.

What’s going on? I thought as I walked towards my clas-s.

They kept on starring until I got to clas-s and as soon as I got to clas-s every one got quiet

“Is it true Andrea?”Beatrice asked looking at me with anger

“What?”I asked

“It can’t be true,it’s just a lie right?”Brenda said as she c@m£ to hold me by my shoulder.

“What are you all talking about?”I asked again

I checked my phone just as they said and I stood in shock with what I saw

“ANDREA FROM CLas-s TWO IS A FRAUD WHO HAVE BEEN FOOLING EVERY ONE, SHE IS NOTHING BUT THE DAUGHTER OF A MAID, YOU CAN CONFIRM MY STORY BY GOING TO MAX HOUSE, HER MOTHER AND HER BOTH LIVE AT THE MAID QUATERS”

I can’t believe this is happening to me! I thought as I stared at every one.
