Evan took a sit and smiled sheeply at Nathan
âWhy didnât you tell me you were gonna call him?â Nathan asked
âCool down Nathan, Iâm here cause I earned my placeâ Evan said and Nathan scoffed
âOkay if we may start, I have good news for you twoâ Mr Chang smiled
âGo aheadâ Nathan muttered wryly
âIâm ma-king the deal with both of you, hereâs the contract BUT I want two of you to work together and presÂŁnt the project on Fridayâ Mr Chang said and then stood up
âMr Chang this wasnât the agreement!â Nathan stood up too
âThatâs how my client wants it. Star entertainment and J.R Inc. are both successful companies and Iâll love to see you two work together
âBut Mr Chang-
âI donât have much time, see you guys on fridayâ Mr Chang said and left with two of his b©dy guards
Nathan glared at Evan who was just sm-irking
âIâm gonna advise you to behave and cooperate, the deal might not mean something to you but it those to me so Iâll like you to take that contract very serious, work on your presÂŁntation and sÂŁnd it to my emailâ Nathan said, without waiting for Evan response he left

STAR MANSION***
It was alre-ady evening and Nathan wasnât back yet, Betty went to the window she checked the time and it was alre-ady 10:00pm
He usually comes home at 8:00pm but now itâs 10:00pm and no sign of him
Regina room door made a cracking sound, it open and she c@mÂŁ out alre-ady dressed in her nighties
âBetty youâre still up?â Regina said
âIâm waiting for your brother, he was suppose to be back at 8:00 but now itâs going to 11:00â Betty said
A teasing smile, spre-ad on Regina face
âItâs just that what if-
âLa la la la, youâre worried about my brotherâ Regina shouted, blocking her ears and running to her room
âUnbelievableâ Betty scoffed lowly
She the heard a car sound, she didnât even know when she smiled and rushed to the door
âWait why am I happy to see him, he would just dust me off anywayâ she thought and turned back but the door alre-ady opened and Nathan looked at her in surprise

âHereâ he gave her his briefcase and went to his room
Betty followed him
He took off his suit and started un-bu-ttoning his shi-t
âSir, what about your dinner?â She asked

âFine just bring anythingâ he hushed her

Betty nodded, she rushed to the kitchen and prepared rice with fish, when she got back, he was alre-ady dressed in his slee-ping cloth

âCan you feed me?â He asked
Her eyes wi-de-ned but she nodded anyway
She sat down next to him and put a spoonful of rice in his mouth, he opened his mouth and accepted it
He chewed and swallowed before looking at her
âBettyâ he called and she looked at him
âThank youâ he said
âHuh?â She asked in confusion
âThank you for this morning?â He said and Betty just smiled at him
âItâs okay, itâs my job anywayâ she said putting another spoon in his mouth
After feeding him, she packed everything and stood up to leave
âSir, you should sleep early you look really worn outâ she said
âWill you sleep here with me then?â He asked

âSâŠirâ she stuttered
âYou want me to sleep early right, so sleep here with me Iâm cool with it, itâs not the first time anywayâ he said
âO.okay Iâll just to keep all thisâ she said and then took the plates and then went out
She c@mÂŁ back to meet Nathan lying down and pressing his phone, he looked at her and motioned her to come l@ydown with his eye
Betty nodded, she walked slowly and climbe-d the be-d, she took the duvet and covered herself from head to toe
âWhatâs wrong?â He asked
âItâs too h0t, I mean cold can you reduce the ACâ she asked
Nathan brou-ght out the remote for the AC and reduced it
âNow?â He asked and she nodded
âCuteâ he said in his mind before shaking his head
He spent sometime pressing his phone thinking how to presÂŁnt his ideas
After few minutes, he switched off his phone and l@ydown, he turned to see Betty fast asleep alre-ady
Slowly he brou-ght his hands to ca-ress her cheek gently and didnât even know when he brou-ght his head to k!ssthose soft welcomingl-ips of hers
He didnât know why heâs suddenly seeing Clarie inside her was it because she has an innocent heart, but no one can never be Clarie
Thereâs no one as innocent as her
âBut sheâs right here in front of youâ his inner self told him
âNo I havenâtâ he sighed and faced another side
What was he thinking, what is this girl doing to him, he slowly closed his eyes and sle-pt off

Nathan opened his eyes, he tried to move but he noticed that he couldnât because Betty was using the her legs to hvg his w@!st while hvgging him ti-ght

Betty eye wi-den as they stayed like that for a while but knowing what to say until a loud ban-g was heard from the door
âItâs Regina, Nathan have you seen Betty?â Regina shouted from outside the door
Betty looked at Nathan, but Nathan just stood up and moved to the door
âHeyâ she whispered as she gr@bbÂŁd him back
âRegina canât see me in hereâ she whispered to him
âWhy?â Nathan asked
âItâs awkward if she sees me here?â Betty said still whispering
âOkay then what should we do?â He asked
âIâll be in the bathroomâ she said, without waiting she ran to the restroom and locked the door
Nathan sighed and open the door, immediately he did that, Regina almost fell but he cought her
âWhy were you here?â He asked flatly
âI was looking for Bettyâ she smiled, showing her teeth
âSheâs not hereâ he said and slammed the door right on her face

Nathan was busy typing his l@pt©p and practicing his pres£ntation, his phone vibr@ted and it was an email from Evan
He checked the email, and it was Evanâs presÂŁntation about the business deal
He reviewed it and it was not that bad
Good work, put more effort we canât b!ow this up he sÂŁnt the message with an eye roll
He spent three hours working and got a bit hungry, his gaze went to the plastic plate right next to him with a bottle of water
He opened it to find a well packed sandwich

His door bur-st open and Xavier appeared
âHey sorry for not knocking⊠Oh sandwichâ he brou-ght his hands to take one but Nathan sl@pped his hands off
âCome on dude, just one it smells so goodâ Xavier pleaded as he sat opposite Nathan

âNo but tell me, Betty made these rightâ Xavier said, f0rç£fully taking one and shoving it in his mouth
Nathan glared at him and covered his plate

Freddy and Leo were sitting together and jotting down what the math teacher was explaining to them

âNo Leo, I wonât help you do your math work, but Iâll explainâ Freddy sm-irked
The math clas-s was interrupted when Mr Garry entered with Evelyn
âSorry to disturb, but from now on Evelyn Brown would be joining this clas-sâ Mr Garry said
âWhat! How come sheâs here, didnât she asked me to go to hell, I clearly warned her not to follow meâ Freddy mumbled lowly
âDude, look itâs that girl you use to tutorâ Leo said, shaking Freddy in the process

It was finally friday, both Nathan and Evan arrived at Chang Xu Villa
âHope you wonât disgrace me out thereâ Nathan said while straighten his suit

Nathan just balled his fist ti-ght, and moved forward
They met groups of clients sitting on the meeting table, Nathan and Evan joined in and they were all served bottle water before the meeting start

Nathan was about entering his car but paused when he heard noises, he moved forward and met Evan talking with Jasmine like there were having an argument

âNo Evan, no one can replace Nathan, I never loved you I just nee-ded you for money but since Clarie is dead and Nathan is single and rich then Iâll start my chase againâ she sm-irked darkly
Evan was trying ha-rd not to hit Jasmine and also hold his tears
âJust get out, while I still know youâ he said
Jasmine turned around and left in anger
Tears fell from Evanâs eyes, he stared at her till she was out of sight before turning back to leave but paused when he saw Nathan staring at him
âAre you happy now, you took my happiness!â Evan said to him in tears
âI never took anything, you were the fool all along, you wasted your life to love a useless woman when they are a lot of fishes in the seaâ Nathan said without emotions before entering his car and driving out of Evan sight
He drive to his pri-vate bar, where he has different collections of bears
He took a bottle of vermouth, he recalled what happened earlier as he was drinking
He didnât plan on drinking much, but he couldnât help it
FLASHBACKS***
He got into highschool by scholarsh!p, heâs the kind of introvert, always on his own cause no one loves to relate with him,, they sometimes beat him up and call him a nob©dy
His father was as-sas-sinated when he was just nine, they took his fatherâs company money and left him, his mom and his sister broke
His mom would do housework for people just to see a little money to feed him
One day he went to a park and sat there, thinking about his life when his when a girl of his age sat down beside him

Nathan just looked at her and smiled, she smiled at him too, they both smiled at each other until Clarie stood up
âI have to go now, Iâll see you later I guessâ she waved at him and left
Nathan couldnât st©p thinking about that girl and her words, he took her words really serious and then he pas-sed his exam but he never saw her to thank her
He went into a famous college, studies his course and graduate with a very good grade
From there he found a very good job he worked ha-rd thinking about his mom and heâs sister who was still in highschool
Life went on and he made a first Friend ever whoâs none other than Evan, the two of them worked ha-rd and built star entertainment before Xavier and Charles joined them
One day Nathan had a meeting with a business man named Kendrick Williams but he wasnât available so he went to his daughter to come instead. When he saw her his eyes sparkled

One day Jasmine meet clarie coming out of a hospital, she went to check what happened being scared that Clarie was pregnant but found about Clarieâs heart disease She smiled to herself.
After many months later Nathan phone dropped from his hands when he heard that Clarie was rushed to the hospital and when he got there the doctor welcomed him with Clarie death certificate
