THE SUSPICIOUS
I waked up I did not see Annie on the be-d, I walked to the balcony but she is not there too that means she did not show up last night and she is still angry with me because I tried to k!ssher.
It seem I have fallen for her because I always got myself thinking about her with my face lightens up with smiles, I enjoy Annie’s company and wishes not to leave my her sight one day.
Whenever am with her I felt this bu-tterflies around my stomach, and my heart will be beating so fast for her.
I was not able to sleep last night, I was thinking about her and hoping she will come back to the room so that I will apologize for attempts.
I went to the bathroom, brushes and shower, today is Saturday Davey and Danny will be coming over for lunch.
“Good morning Mom!
I greeted Mom with a k!ss.
“Morning Son! How was your night?
“It was good Mom!
I replied, sat down to have breakfast.
“Have you called Davey to find out if they are still coming?
“He called me this morning saying that they are sorry because they won’t be able to make for lunch that his uncle was rushed to the hospital early this morning”
I explained.
“Oh my God! What did he say that happen to him?
Mom shouted as she dropped the food on the table.
“He was not able to explain due to the interruption from the mother”
I said.
“I pray nothing bad will happen to the uncle”
“I pray so Mom!
“So what’s your today’s activities?
“I will like to go to the hospital and see how Davey’s uncle is doing but Davey told me not to bother by myself for coming”
I sounded.
“So you won’t go and see your friend’s uncle and see how he is doing?
Mom sounded.
“I will go but not at the hospital when they back”
I said.
“Okay Son! But won’t it be okay for you to follow me to the boutique and see how it is then later you can go to Davey’s house”
Mom suggested.
“That sounds okay Mom”
I replied.
Done eating cleared the dinning.
“Mom I will be in my room when you are re-ady give me a call”
I shouted to Mom.
“Okay Son!
She replied from the kitchen.
I went up to my room staring at the ceiling fan and thought of Annie c@mĀ£ into my mind.
“Why is she avoiding me? I nee-d to see her and apologize for my wrong attempts but I don’t know where to look for her how I wish am I a ghost like her it will be so easy for me”
I thoughts.
My eyes were still focusing on the ceiling fan and all of a sudden the window’s curtains started waving continuously.
“Who is there? Annie is that you”
I asked and stood up immediately.
I walked to the window and the curtains stĀ©pped waving immediately.
“Annie what are you doing? Why are you being invincible to me, plea-se show yourself”
I said as I saw her shadow moved to the be-d.
“Hey Andrew!
She said.
I looked around the room to see when the voice was coming but no sign of her.
“Hello Andrew am right here!
She said again.
“Annie am sorry for trying to k!ssyou, plea-se stĀ©p hiding yourself from me”
I sounded still looking for her.
“Can’t you see me Andrew? Am right here”
She said.
I observed the direction of her voice very well and I noticed it was coming from the teddy bear that was on the be-d. I wonder how she made her voice to be coming out from that teddy bear.
I went to be-d and hold the teddy bear.
“Are you here Annie?
I asked being confused.
“You find me Andrew!
She laughed out.
“Why are you hiding yourself from me? plea-se stĀ©p it I don’t find it funny at all”
I sounded still holding the teddy bear.
I saw her shadow going out to the balcony, I followed her immediately.
“Annie why are you doing this? I said am sorry plea-se stĀ©p being invincible, I want to see you”
I said and she did not utter any word to me.
Why is she acting this way? Had it been I succeed in k!ss!ngher, her acting will be worster than this.
I keep on apologizing to her saying all the words that c@mĀ£ into my head but she still refused to talk to me nor showing herself to me.
“Andrew who is there? Who are you talking to?
Mom asked as she c@mĀ£ to the balcony and Annie disappeared.
“It nobĀ©dy Mom!
I sounded with a crack voice.
“Are you sure Andrew? I saw a shadow right standing right here”
Mom sounded pointing at the spĀ©t Annie was standing.
How did Mom saw her shadow, I thought am the only one that can be able to her or could it be only one can see her shadow”
I thought.
“No Mom! There’s no one here just only me”
I sounded.
“But I saw a girl shadow right here”
She said being so sure of what she saw, she keep on looking around to see if she can see her again.
I l@ymy hand around her shoulder and said,
“Mom there’s no shadow and you did not see correctly, Mom I have been waiting for you”
I sounded changing the tĀ©pic of the shadow thing.
“I got a call from worker about the delivery that just arrived and the call lasted for long”
Mom said.
“Okay, re-ady to go to work?
“Oh yeah!
I collected my phone and my headset, we walked down to the garage.
“Mom I will be the one to drive, I miss driving”
I sounded.
“Son here is not New York that the law enf0rƧĀ£ment agencies did not subdued any teenage that is not yet an adult from driving a car, in this California their law enf0rƧĀ£ment is against it”
Mom explained.
“Oh Mom! Is that it!
I sounded.
“That’s it son!
We went into the car and drove to the boutique.
“Good Morning Ma!
Mom”s worker greeted.
“Morning Kate! Meet my son Andrew”
Mom said with smiles.
“Good Morning Andrew!
She greeted with smiles.
“Morning Kate!
I replied back with smiles.
“Ma you got a cute Son”
She said and win-ked at me.
“Thanks Kate, have you gone throu-gh the delivery items to see if there are complete?
She asked.
“Yes Ma!
“Mom let me go around the boutique”
I said.
“Okay Son”
Mom said and concentrated back on Kate.
The boutique is so big and beautiful too, filled with sorted ladies dresses, accessories and cosmetics.
As I was walking around the boutique, Annie c@mĀ£.
“Wow! Andrew you mom got a nice boutique with a beautiful cosmetics and accessories”
She said.
“Annie!
I sounded being surprise to see her.
“Surprise to see me!
She sounded with smiles.
“I am! Annie am sorry for trying to k!ssyou, I don’t know why I behaved that way”
I apologized.
She brusted out in laughter.
Why is she laughing? Did my apology sounds somehow?
I thought.
“What is it Annie?
“C’mon Andrew am not angry with you beside why should I be”
She said.
“Are you serious Annie? Then why the sudden disappearance?
“Nothing! I just feel like to be invincible around you”
She sounded.
“Okay,I miss you Annie”
I sounded and hvgged her.
“Why did you try to k!ssme?
She asked as I re-leased myself from the hvg.
“Because I love you Annie”
“You love me?
She sounded shockingly.
I guess I have to use this opportunity and tell her how I feel about her.
“I have grown to love, whenever am around you I find myself falling de-eply in love for you and my heart beating so fast, I know it meant sounds stupid to you but that’s the truth”
I sounded looking into her charming eyes.
“What are you saying Andrew? Have you forgotten who am i?
She sounded.
“Annie I don’t care who you are, what I know is that I love you, Believe me Annie you are the one Whom my heart finds,
Whom my mind reminds me of,Whom my destiny wants,
Whom I love the most, did you know what I did yesterday I was missing you,
I did not look for u in my dreams or try to hear your voice, I just put my right hand across my che-st and i feel you”
I said.
“Andrew the feelings you have for me have to die because it is not going to work, am a ghost and not a human being like you”
She sounded.
“Who said I care if you are a ghost or not? I love you Annie and am re-ady to be with you even if in the grave”
I sounded.
“C’mon don’t say that Andrew, you can’t be with me”
She shouted and disappeared.
“Come back Annie!
I shouted.
“Andrew!
Mom shouted.
“Yes Mom!
I shouted with fear and I hope she did not hear anything.
“Who is Annie?
Mom asked confusedly.
“Annie! Who is Annie?
I sounded with my pretending.
“Don’t ask me that silly question! I saw you talking to someone, confessing your feelings to her, where did she go?
Mom sounded looking around and I know very well that she did not see anybĀ©dy only heard a voice.
I thought of what to say and an idea pop into my head.
“Oh that Mom! I was practicing the drama scripts I have to presĀ£nt at the literature event”
I sounded.
“Wow! That’s lovely! You know I love drama and also love to act so tell me what’s the drama all about?
Mom sounded with so much excited.
I have gotten myself into another problem what will I tell her now, I thought and thought until I c@mĀ£ up with something.
“Mom am acting as Romeo confessing my undying love to Juliet”
I said with smiles over my face.
“That’s lovely! Romeo and Juliet! So son who is your Juliet?
Mom asked as if she knows all the girls in the school.
“Is Annie Mom”
I spill out Annie’s name.
“Annie! That’s the name I heard you early calling out for”
Mom sounded.
“Yes Mom! It is also p@rt of the scripts”
I said.
“Okay, I thought it will be Danny”
Mom said but why did she mention Danny’s name?
“Danny!
“I will love it if you and Danny bec@mĀ£ more than friends”
Mom sounded.
“Mom!
I exclaimed.
“Yes Son! Am telling you my mind or don’t you like her to be more than friend to you?
Mom asked.
“You know what Mom I nee-d to start going to the hospital so that I can be able to come on time before traffic jam will set up”
I said avoiding the question.
“Okay Son,my regards to Davey, Danny and the uncle too”
Mom sounded and k!$$Ā£d me on the cheek.
I went out while Mom went back to her office.
As I was going Kate saw me and rushed out.
“Going so soon?
She sounded with smiles.
“Yes Kate, I nee-d to go somewhere”
I replied back with smiles.
“Okay! See you next time”
She win-ked at me and waved.
I went out stĀ©p a cab, I called Davey and told him that I will be coming but he said I should not bother coming to the hospital because they are back so I told the cab man to take me Davey’s house.
I got to the house and Alisa the baby of the house opened the door for me, she is seven years old.
“Good afternoon Sir Andrew”
She said with smiles and bowed, she is such a cute girl.
“How are you Alisa?
I asked as I gave her a k!sson the cheek.
“Am fine Sir Andrew and thank you”
She said with those beautiful smiles all over her cute face.
“Why the Sir on my name?
I asked.
“My mom said that our sĀ£nior should be address as Sir so you are my sĀ£nior”
She sounded with her sweet tender voice.
“Come here Alisa!
I said and carried her.
“You are such a sweet girl”
I said as I k!$$Ā£d her on the forehead.
“Where is Davey?
“Bro Davey is in his room”
She said.
“Okay take me there”
I said.
“Sir Andrew your br@celet is fine”
She said staring at the br@celet on my ankle.
“Thank you, did you like it?
“Yes!
“That means it will now be yours”
I said and re-moved the br@celet and put it on her ankle.
“Yeah eeee! Thank you Sir Andrew, I love it and I will keep very well it will not go out from hand”
She shouted with so much excited and gave me a k!sson the cheek.
We were climbing the stairs and we met Danny.
“Andrew!
She shouted surprisedly because she never knew that I will be coming.
“Yes Sir Andrew your crush”
Alisa shouted.
“Shut up Alisa!
Danny shouted her up.
“Crush!
I exclaimed.
“Don’t mind what she said”
Danny said.
“Okay, is Davey in his room?
I brou-ght Alisa down.
“Sis Danny you will not admit it that Sir Andrew is your crush, you are crushing over him”
She said and ran off.
“Come back here Alisa!
Danny shouted and ran off to catch her.
I went to Davey’s room and he was pressing his phone.
“What’s up Dude!
I said and tap him on the shoulder.
“You scared me Dude!
He sounded.
“Am sorry Davey”
I laughed.
“What are you doing Dude?
“You alre-ady know what am doing”
He replied with smiles.
“Oh I see! Chatting with your heart beat Christabel”
I sounded and lie on the be-d.
“Oh yeah! You know I so much love Christabel that I always thinks about and wishes to be with her very minutes, seconds and hours, she melts her heart”
He sounded with smiles.
“I know that Davey, the love you have for her is so strong and unconditional”
I said.
“Dude don’t you think that you nee-d a girlfriend? You know you got crushes beautiful ones, Maria, Vera, Eliza and Annabel are crushing on you and Annabel seem to love you so much and she is the most beautiful one among them and you can choose her”
Davey said.
“I don’t love any of them Davey”
I said.
“Okay, What of Danny! Don’t you love her?
“Danny!
I shouted surprisedly.
“Oh yeah Danny! You know you will be surprise to know that she loves you, Danny loves you or have you not notice the way she looks at you and always like to be around you?
I know that Danny looks at me somehow and likes to be around me but I never knew it was love.
“You don’t know what you are saying Davey”
“Danny is my sister and I know she has fallen de-eply in love with you, I have caught her several times staring at your picture with so much love written all over her face and she has confessed her feelings for you to me saying i should help her out in talking to you”
He said.
“You know what Davey, I love Danny but only as a sister, I don’t have feeling for her and beside am in love with someone else”
I said.
“You are in love with someone! Who is the person?
He sounded happily.
I can’t possibly tell him that am in love with a ghost.
“You don’t know her but you will soon know her”
I said.
“That means she is not in our school?
“Yes Davey”
“Okay! Have you confess your feelings to her?
“I have but she did not take it as a serious something she thought I was kidding, I love Annie so much and I don’t know what to do to make her to un-derstand how precious she is to me, the love I have for her too much that I can’t stĀ©p thinking about her, I genuinely love Annie”
I sounded with so much love.
“Don’t worry Bro, she will un-derstand the love you have for her, I nee-d to know her so that I can help you in winning her heart”
He sounded.
“You will soon see her, that reminds me how is your uncle?
“He is okay, he had a minor problem and will be discharge tomorrow morning”
He replied.
“Okay”
“Did you know what Dude! Tomorrow is Christabel’s birthday”
Davey shouted with smiles.
“Wow! We gonna celebr@te it!
I shouted.
“For sure, I got something for her”
He said and brou-ght a locket.
“Check it out”
He gave it to me.
I opened it and brou-ght out a sliver anklet with a little pendant and write up “My Morning Star”written on it.
“Wow! This is so lovely and she will love it”
I shouted.
“I know she will love it, she makes me happy and she deserve the best, I can’t wait still tomorrow come to wishes her beautiful happy birthday”
He sounded.
“You have to wait to tomorrow comes beside we don’t have much time left for you to sing a beautiful birthday song to her”
I sounded.
“Okay Bro, am so happy”
He shouted.
“Am so happy for you”
I said with smiles.
Nothing more to talk about or do at the room so we decided to pl@ytable tennis, we went to the pla-ying ground even Danny went with us.
We started pla-ying the table tennis, am not really good in pla-ying tennis so I keep on loosing and loosing but Davey and Danny are very good at it especially Danny you can’t beat her on that game.
It reached my turn to pl@ywith Danny and Davey went to to his room to get something.
“Andrew you keep on lossing the game”
Danny shouted as she won me.
“That’s because i don’t know how to pl@yit”
I said.
“Don’t worry, I will teach you”
“Not today because am alre-ady tired”
“Okay,Andrew I want to tell you something”
“What is it?
I asked when I alre-ady knew what she want to say.
“Andrew I don’t know what you have done to me that I keep on thinking about you each day and night, I can’t get you out of my head , your smiles, your handsome face are always on my mind, I keep dreaming about you and me pla-ying ro-mantically, Andrew I have fallen de-eply in love with you and i know it will sounds somehow to you but that’s the truth, I just wish that for one moment you could be me, and maybe, only then youāll realize how much I love you, I love you so much Andrew”
She said with love written all over her.
I don’t know what to say and I don’t want hurt her feeling neither.
I placed my hand on her shoulder, “You know what Danny, I love you but I only love you like a sister to me, I don’t want to hurt your feelings nor your emotion so am sorry to say this I don’t have feelings for you”
I said.
“Why Andrew? Am I not worthy for you to love me? Andrew I love you so much and am dying to be with,I don’t think if I can live without you in life plea-se Andrew don’t do this to me”
She cried out.
“Danny stĀ©p crying, I don’t want you to cry because of me, I don’t have feelings for you and you to be hurt yourself all because of me,you are like a sister to me and I love like that plea-se Danny stĀ©p crying”
I said wiping her tears with my palm.
“Then allow me to love you and d@tĀ£ you and with time you will grow to love me like the way I do”
She said.
“Allowing you to d@tĀ£ me is like hurting you because my heart belongs to someone else”
I sounded.
“Don’t think to him, his heart dose not belong to anybĀ©dy he is just being confused, he will love you and be yours forever”
Annie appeared and said standing in front of her.
Why is she here?
I thought.
“Andrew did you heard that? Who said that? plea-se show your self”
Danny said looking around.
“I heard it too but I don’t know who got that voice”
I said pretending to be looking around.
“Are you sure the person is not a ghost?
Danny asked.
“Ghost! Did ghost live here?
I asked giving Annie sign asking her why she c@mĀ£ here.
“Not at all, ghost dose not live here”
She said and walked out to see if she can see the person.
“What are you doing here Annie? Did you want her to start suspecting?
I asked.
“I c@mĀ£ to tell her that you will love her and accept her in your life”
I said.
“Annie, you are the one I love, the one my heart beat for, I love you and I don’t know why you don’t want to accept me?
I said holding her hand.
“Andrew am a ghost and you can’t love a ghost, you know the reason why my soul has not rest and once that mission is accomplished I will be gone forever so the feeling you have for me have to die because it won’t work”
She said.
“Annie I don’t care of you are a ghost or not beside am willing to die for me to be with you”
I sounded.
“Don’t say that Andrew! You won’t end your life, that life is to precious and have a lot of destinies to fulfill”
She said.
“There’s no destiny to fulfill if the one my heart want is not with me or me with her”
I sounded.
“Andrew those feelings you have for me have to die”
She said.
Danny c@mĀ£ back and she disappeared.
“Andrew who are you talking to?
She asked confusedly.
“NobĀ©dy Danny”
“But I heard a female voice, the same voice that spoke to me early ago”
She said still confused.
“C’mom Danny! NobĀ©dy is here maybe you are just imaging things, come let’s go and see what is keeping Davey in that room”
I said holding her hand.
She look so confused and knows very well that she heard a voice but can’t see the person.
We met Davey coming to meet us, Danny told him the voice she heard but Davey didn’t take it as a serious something.
We back to the house, sat down and eat pizza with orange jui-ce.
I know that Danny’s mind was still on that voice.
Thirty minutes later, I stood up and about to leave, I have spend two hours with them.
I asked about Eliza before going Davey told me she has sle-pt off.
I got home and Mom is back re-ady, I told her how my day went without including Danny’s love for me because I know what Mom will said.
We ate dinner and went to be-d, Annie didn’t show up at night.
Tomorrow morning being Christabel’s birthday, Davey has sĀ£nt me the location of the event.
I got dressed and re-ady to go, Annie have not showed up but I know she will come to the birthday p@rty.
I got to the place it was well decorated with beautiful ballons attached with Christabel”s pictures and name, the decoration looks so beautiful and amazing.
“Welcome Dude!
Davey said with a handshake.
“Where is our celebr@nt?
“Not yet here”
“The decoration looks so beautiful”
“All thanks to Christabel’s friends”
“Wow! You look so handsome tonight”
Danny said as she c@mĀ£ us.
“Thanks Danny, you also look so beautiful”
I said with smiles.
We went to the table and got sitted, the p@rty club has filled with friends, clas-smates, school mates and well wishes.
Few minutes later, when they noticed the celebr@nt was about to enter the light went off and as soon as she entered the light was turned on.
The crowd started singing and shouting happy birthday to her.
She bec@mĀ£ speechless because she never expected it, her face was filled with joy.
Davey walked to her and said,
“Happy birthday Darling!
He said and k!$$Ā£d her.
People c@mĀ£ wishing her happy birthday, after the happy birthday wishes the p@rty began.
People were dancing and drinking all kinds of drink.
Davey c@mĀ£ up to the stage with Christabel and paused the music for a while.
“My love, If lovers are like moon and brother are like stars then i hav noticed that the sky looks good without moon but not without stars and thats YOUā¦.. Happy Birthday

The crowd shouted with joy.
The p@rty begins again, people were dancing with their p@rtner,I was dancing with Danny and she is indeed a good dancer and all of a sudden Annie c@mĀ£ to the dancing floor dancing.
I leave Danny and started dancing with her ro-mantically without that we are In a crowd.
I know that they will thought am dancing alone but not knowing am dancing with a ghost.
I stared into her beautiful eyes placing my one hand on her w@!st while the other on her shoulder dancing and following the tune of the music, she can dance very well.
“I love you Annie”
I whispered to her and started k!ss!ngher pas-sionately forgotten where we are.
“What are you doing Bro?
Davey asked.
I kept quite still k!ss!ngAnnie.
I realized what was going on when the music was off and Annie disappeared.
People were saying that I was k!ss!ngthe air while dancing.
Danny and Davey c@mĀ£ to me.
“Dude what happened to you?
Davey asked.
“Why were you k!ss!ngthe air and dancing alone?
Danny asked.
They were so confused and I don’t know what to say to them.
“I was doing that?
“Yes Andrew!
Danny said.
“Oh my gosh! That my sickness has come back!
I shouted.
“What sickness?
Davey asked confusedly.
“Whenever am imagining things I started dreaming about it and that’s what happened now”
That’s what c@mĀ£ into my mind.
“That’s so bad!
Danny exclaimed.
“You nee-d to do something about it Andrew”
Davey said.
“I was on medication and when that…… I can’t really remember what the doctor called it, when it stĀ©ps happening to me that’s why I stĀ©pped the medication, I don’t know why the sickness have to come back and disgraced me here”
I sounded pretending to feel ashamed.
“Andrew you have to start taking the medication because what happened here is not good at all and it is on the student’sl-ips”
Danny said showing concern about the fake illness.
“I will deflently do that”
I said.
Andrew explained what happened to me to the students so that they will stĀ©p talking about it.
The p@rty was over and everybĀ©dy went back to their various destination.
I went home, told Mom how the p@rty went before going up to my to shower.
As I was showering I was remembering the pas-sionate k!sswe had together, it was so sweet and Annie happened to be a good k!ssĀ£r.
I laughed as I remembered how was able to fool everybĀ©dy with my fake illness.
