???? Chapter Fifty-Six????

~The past is what make up the future~

????BALLERINA????

“What are you…talking about, Heather?” She asked in a low voice.

It’s crazy. It’s crazy to think that her best friend/personal maid have something to do with her blindness.

It’s crazy to believe that Heather isn’t who she thought she was.

How can life take a drastic twist like this?

How can her best friend, a girl she trust so much and is ready to do anything for be the cause of her aunt’s death and her blindness?

How can life be this mean and unfair?

“Seems like you’ve gotten the memo, right?” She asked, smirking.

“You…you shot me in the eyes?” Ballerina asked.

She knew just what the answer would be but she was still hoping for a different answer from Heather.

Heather folded her arms across her chest, shooting daggers at her. “Are you stupid or you are only just pretending to be stupid?”

“I’m not stupid. Heather.” Ballerina said, sniffing a little. “I just don’t want to believe the fact that my best friend was the one who shot me in the eyes and killed my aunt. It’s crazy!”

Heather suddenly started laughing, throwing her head back and clenching her stomach. “You make me laugh, princess.” She finally stated as soon as she stopped laughing. “If you consider me as a friend…what then do you think I consider you as?” Ballerina said nothing, so Heather took the hint to continue “I never for once considered you as a friend. Okay, maybe I did considered for once but that was that!”

“Why are you doing all this? Because of the throne?”

“What else do you think?” She raised a brow at her. “Do you know how many times I fantasy myself sitting down beside my father on the throne as the crown princess of the city? Do you know how long I’ve waited for a time like this to come? Huh?”

“And you think doing all this will make you get the throne?”

“Of course. I mean, no king, no queen and no princess…who else do you think will take over, Ballerina?” She smirked, running the tip of the sharp knife against Ballerina’s face.

“Marco wasn’t dad’s brother.” Ballerina breaths out, already panicking. Any little mistake and her face will be torn apart. “They were step brothers!”

“And? What difference does that make?”

“A huge different, Heather. Your grandmother had given birth to your father before she married my grandfather. Marco have no royalty in him…and you too.”

Heather clenched her teeth in anger and suddenly hit Ballerina on her face, making the poor girl fall. “How dare you?”

“Do you think your dad will ever reign as a king? Do you think if I die, you will become the crown princess?” She scoffed. “No one even knows that you are related to Marco. I wouldn’t have known either if Aunt Claire never told me.”

“SHUT UP!” Heather yelled in anger, grabbing Ballerina by the neck. “I will snap your neck if you say anymore word, you bit-ch !”

Ballerina have had enough.

She can’t keep acting like a fool, at all times.

There was a probability of her dying now but at least she have to tell this psychotic bit-ch a piece of her mind before dying.

She was stupid to have trusted Heather in the first place.

She was stupid to have believed every damn word that came out of her mouth.

She was stupid to have let Paulo come into her life!

Who knows maybe he was also working for her(Heather). Besides it was Heather who had brou-ght him to her in the first place.

But then again, what about Ace?

Was he also a victim?

Was he safe?

Does he know that Paulo was working for the enemy?

And now, that’s one reason why she doesn’t want to die!

~Ace.

“What? Does the truth hurts?” She smirked.

Heather hit her again across the face, bringing her up to her feet, still holding her on the neck.

“Seems like you don’t value your life.” She said in a whisper, tightening her hand around Ballerina’s neck.

“Wait…be…before you kill…me…can…can you tell me how…you…you did everything?” Ballerina questioned, quietly looking for a way to get out of Heather strong grip.

Heather slowly released Ballerina, smirking. “You want to know?” Ballerina nodded her head, her gaze going behind Heather. “Fine. I will tell you but afterwards, I will kill you.” That sounded like a promise…or maybe it really was.

????ACE????

“Where exactly are you taking me to?” Ace asked, not moving again.

Chloe turned to look at him. “To the princess. Or isn’t that who you are looking for?”

“You are literally taking me out of the palace using the back gate. Why? I mean, shouldn’t she be inside?”

Chloe sighed, walking closer to Ace. “She went there to hide. If you go inside, you definitely won’t see her there because obviously, she isn’t there. Sow will you follow me quietly or not?”

He wanted to but something was stopping him from following her.

She wasn’t giving him tje good vibe.

She can’t be trusted.

Who knows maybe it was planned out to take him away from Ballerina.

Wait…does this mean Ballerina is in danger?

Was this girl leading him out of the palace because she doesn’t want him to save Belle?

Was Heather with Ballerina right now?

There is only one way to find out.

“Thank you for leading me, Chloe but I think I want to look for her myself, hope you don’t mind?” He asked calmly.

“Of course not but… I’m sorry you can’t go to her.” She said, taking out a gun from her pocket and pointing it at him. “If you make any move, I will shoot. And that’s a promise.”

“Claire will do everything within her power to stop us from taking that girl out.” Heather said, grabbing a shot of whiskey.

“We can’t kill her.” Marco said, snatching the shot from her and gulping the whole content. “What did I say about drinking, young lady?”

Heather rolled her eyes in annoyance. “Whatever.” She sighed. “But why can’t we kill her? Wait a minute, you still love her, don’t you?”

Marco didn’t say anything.

“DAD!” She called out angrily.

“WHAT!?” He answered, matching her tone as well.

“How do you want to achieve your goal if you are here thinking about love, huh?”

“Claire might change. I mean, who knows?”

“And what if she doesn’t?” Heather asked, folding her arms over her chest.

Marco hesitate for awhile before saying. “She will. She have always wanted to be queen, remember?”

Heather sighed, throwing her hands up in surrender. “Do whatever you please, dad. But, what about her?”

“We can’t kill her yet.” Marco said.

“She will take over the throne if nothing is done, dad.” She pointed out.

“I know. But do you know something else we can do to stop her without taking her life?” He asked her.

Heather thought for a while, placing her finger against her jaw.

A smile crept its way to her li-ps as she slowly look down at her father. “I have a very good idea, father.”

“How are you feeling, my princess?” Heather asked, dressing Ballerina’s hair, preparing her for the show.

“Nervous?” Ballerina sighed, turning to look at Heather. “What if I mess up, Heather? I’m scared of bringing my team hopes down.”

Heather cupped her face, smiling. “You will do great, my princess. I’m sure you will.”

“I’m scared, Heather.”

“Hey, don’t be. You got this. I believe in you, your team believes in you as well… everyone does. Even aunt Claire.” She grinned, making Ballerina smile as well. “Everyone are all present to watch you dance, my princess. They are here for you.”

“But what if…”

Heather quickly cut her off. “But nothing. And stop talking about the negativity. How about we talk about the positivity? What if you go out there and show the one your true talent! What if you dance great? What if you make your team proud?”

Ballerina smiled, nodding her head. “You are right.”

“Come here,” She pulled Ballerina into a warmly hug. “Hope you don’t mind me hugging you, my princess?”

“Oh, please. I need it right now.” She stated, wrapping her arms around Heather and shutting her eyes close. “Thank you, Heather.”

“What are you thanking me for?”

“I don’t know…for being here, I guess.”

Heather chuckles, stro-king Ballerina’s hair softly. “I should be the one thanking you.”

“For what?” Ballerina asked.

“I don’t know…for everything, I guess.”

“It’s time!” The announcer said to Ballerina before walking out of the room.

“Crush the show, Ballerina!..Oops, I’m sorry for calling you by your name.”

Ballerina laughed, pulling away from the hug. “It’s fine, Heather. And yes, I will crush the show!” She turned to leave but stopped and turned back to Heather. “Promise you will be here when I’m done with the show.”

She smiled. “I promise.”

Ballerina quickly run out of the room, going up the stage.

Heather stood still in the empty room, staring at the closed door where Ballerina have just walked out from.

She raised her gown up and quietly dug out a gun.

She smirked down at it. “Thank you for giving me an opportunity, princess.”

????NARRATOR????

“You were the one who told Lucky to tell us, weren’t you?” Kat asked Eva, quietly.

“I wanted to give you guys a lead. I don’t know what it is Heather have done but I think it has something to do with me.”

“Your necklace was found in the crime scene, Eva.” Liam said.

“And you said Heather and you were friends?” Kat asked.

“Yes.” Eva answered.

“But why didn’t she tell us that?” Kat questioned, turning to look at Liam.

“She didn’t want us to know.” Liam said.

“She knew telling us that will complicate everything for her.” Kat stated, turning her gaze to Eva. “When Heather found out about you and Lucky, what did she do?”

“What else wound she have done?” Eva replied with a shrug of the shoulder.

“What do you mean?”

~FLASHBACK~

“I hate you!” Heather screamed at the top of her voice, glaring ha-rd at Eva.

“I know and honestly, I don’t blame you for hating me. I’m really sorry, Heather.”

“Sorry? Are you really sorry? Oh no, will your sorry bring him back to me? Will your sorry change anything? So tell me, what exactly will that stupid sorry do!?”

Eva gulped hard, fiddling with her fingers.

“You know how much I love Lucky. How could you do this to me?”

“You never loved him, Heather.” Eva said, surprising Heather.

“Excuse me?”

“You only wanted him for his money. You never really loved him.” She repeated, staring straight into Heather’s eyes.

“You have no fu-cking right to say that shit to me.” She warned, stepping closer towards Eva.

“I know. And I never said a word to you, remember? I never judged you or did anything against you. I supported you. I advice you but you wouldn’t listen.”

“So? Is that why you decided to go behind my back and take him away from me!” She retorted angrily.

“I didn’t go behind your back, Heather.”

“Then what did you do?”

“Why are you talking this way? Besides this guy have always wanted to break up with you.” Eva said.

“I hate you! And I swear, I’m going to make you regret this. I promise you!”

“Heather…”

“Don’t you dare call my name, you wretched bit-ch !” She pointed her index finger at her. “Just watch and see how I will turn your happy ending into one of tragedy, Eva.” She threatened.

“Why didn’t you report her to the police?” Liam asked.

“It was an empty threat…I thought.” She answered with a shrug.

“Now I see why you and Lucky decided to be together.” Liam mutter under his breath. shaking his head.

“You said she accepted your apology a month ago, right?” Kat asked.

“Yeah.”

“And that’s after Claire’s death. Indeed, the necklace was planted there to frame you up, Eva.”

The gun was pointed against dancing Ballerina.

No one noticed. Everyone were so drawn to the stage that they didn’t even notice the armed person standing behind them.

Ballerina kept dancing, enjoying every bit of the moment.

But suddenly, her happiness were cut short… the loud bang that was heard was a big shock to everyone….including Ballerina.

Her scream was the only thing heard after the gunshot before the stage went blank.

????ACE????

“What do you intend to do? Kill me?” He raised a questioning brow at her.

Chloe shrugged, tightening her hold against the cold metal. “If you make a move then yes…I will kill you.”

“Who do you work for? Heather? Or Nelly?” He questioned, stuffing his hands into his pan-ts pocket.

“You know about Heather?” She asked, confusedly.

“The truth can’t be hidden forever, or can it?”

She smirked, nodding her head. “You are right there. But too bad, It’s too late now.”

“Heather is with her, isn’t she?”

“Why else do you think I’m pointing a gun at you, preventing you from going in there?”

“Oh, yeah right.” He sighed. “It was stupid of me to have followed you.”

“Nah, it’s not your fault. You didn’t know. I’m too innocent to be tagged as a murderer.”

“You think so?”

“I know so, Ace. I mean, why else did you follow me?”

“Well, because I wanted to catch you red-handed?” He answered.

“Wait, what?”

“You think you are the only smart one, right?”

“What are you talking about?”

“I’m not alone, Chloe.”
