Next week Tuesday is the Valentine’s day and I haven’t composed any song that I’ll pl@yfor the school, what’s wrong with me?

“Tiana think think think and put something down” I said hitting myself on the head, then the inspiration c@m£ and lyrics started floating in my head.

I brou-ght out my jotting book and started writing the lyrics down as they keep flowing in my head.

When I was done writing, I checked the pages I’ve written and discovered that I’ve written four pages.

“Wow! I guess that’s enough, I really did a great job, now I’ll start rehearsing” I said to myself as I found a suitable tone for those lyrics. I cleared my throat and began to sing with the guitar well placed across my n£¢k and below my arm. I sang along to the sound of the guitar 🎸.

A knock on my door interrupted me
“Who’s that?” I asked dropping the guitar
“It’s me Tonia”

“Oh Tonia, you can come in” I said and she pushed the door open and walked towards me
“I overheard the song you were singing” she said

“Really??”
“Yes”
“Tell me, how was it? Is it good to pres£nt or I should make it a bit ro-mantic??” I asked

“Uhmmm… It’s pres£ntable but I’ll advise you to add some few ro-mantic p@rts to make it lovely and fascinating” she said
“Oh you’re right, you’re so s-en-sitive and I love you for that” I said and she blu-shed.

She made to walk out but st©pped abruptly
“I totally forgot what I actually c@m£ here for”
“What’s that?” I asked

“Some people are here to see you” she replied
“Some people??” I asked in confusion because I didn’t give anyone an appointment to see me today, so who are they?
“Did any of them perhaps mentioned his/her name?” I asked again

“Yes! Jessica, Monalisa, Wisdom and Archie” she replied and I opened my mouth in surprise
“So these guys c@m£ here now, what should I do? How can I hide my real identity from them?” I started thinking about what to do.

“I guess you use the hoodie” Tonia suggested
“Won’t they ask me why I’m still hiding my face even when I’m at home??” I asked confusingly

“Don’t worry, just tell them you always cover your face”
“And you think it will work?” I asked again
“Of course it will, come on, you trust me now, don’t you?” she asked

“St©p talking nons-en-se, who told you that? Of course I do trust you” I said
“Then pu-ll yourself together and go meet them, I’m very sure everything is gonna be alright” she said and I hvgged her
“You’re so sweet” I said putting on my hoodie

“Now st©p the compliment and go out there, they must be worried sick for not seeing you” she said and we both went out.
I saw them chatting happily with a glas-s cu-p of drink in their hands each.

“Here comes the African Queen we’ve all been waiting for” Archie said
“Should I take that as a compliment or an abuse?” I asked sitting down with them

“A compliment of course” Archie replied
“Alright, so why do you decided to have your conference meeting done in my house today?” I asked

“Because you’re the African Queen” Lisa said and we all laughed
“Why are you covering your face again? Are you trying to hide from your friends??” Jessica asked

“Nope…you know I told you guys that when it’s time for you to see my face, you’ll surely see it, and besides I just like covering my face, be it family, friends or strangers” I said

“Alright, but tell me something” Wisdom said sitting upright
“What’s that?” I asked and did exactly what he did which made others laughed.

“I heard Tiana’s voice when we arrived, but as soon as your maid c@m£ to call you, the song st©p, tell me, is Tiana here??” Wisdom asked and we all laughed

“I’m serious, it is not funny” Wisdom said again
“Alright alright, I think Wisdom is right, because I also heard that song and the song is yet to be re-leased, I’ve never heard it before” Monalisa said

“Well… It’s true that you heard Tiana’s voice but she isn’t here Mr Wisdom Kingsley, I’m just listening to her music, that’s all” I said and they all laughed because of the way I addressed Wisdom

“It’s alright but I haven’t hear that song before” Lisa said
“Okay, you’ll soon here it, she just re-leased it yesterday” I lied
“Really??” They all asked in surprise

“Yes, and why are you surprised?” I asked
“She re-leased it yesterday and you’ve heard it, so soon??” Jessica asked

“Yes, I’m always following her, even if she dropped a song just now, I will have it on my phone” I lied again, oh Lord, plea-se help me s£nd these chickens away, they’re stressing my life.
“Alright, we just c@m£ to know your house, by tomorrow we’re going to Lisa’s house” Jessica said

“That’s good” I said
“So thank you for your hospitality” Wisdom said
“You’re welcome Mr Wisdom Kingsley” I replied and we all laughed again before I accompanied them out.

“Woah! That was so close” I sighed softly as I went back to the sitting room and ordered Tonia to get me a chilled water
“You see now” she said as she dropped the tray on the table and I told her to sit.

I re-moved my hoodie and we started chatting. We were still talking when Monalisa barged in.

We’ve gotten into the car and was about to drive out when I remember my phone, I left it inside

“Guys hold on for me, let me go and get my phone” I said and went back inside.

As I opened the door, I saw someone who look just like Tiana, but immediately it went away just like a flash.

“I think I saw Tiana just now” I said to Samyn who was still covering her face with hoodie

“Maybe in your imagination” Samyn said
“Nope, I know I saw her” I persisted

“It’s her picture you saw then” Samyn said and it was then I noticed Tiana’s pictures hanging everywhere in the sitting room.

“Hold on… why is Tiana’s pictures much in your house like this?” I asked
“I just love her so much, that’s why I have her pictures” Samyn said

“It’s alright, I c@m£ to take my phone, others are waiting outside, let me go quic-kly, see you tomorrow” I said as I picked my phone and rushed out.

“What’s Lisa still doing inside, that girl is a talkative” Wisdom said and we all bur-sted into laughter
“Thank you for the abuse, women-gr-abbing freak” Lisa said stepping into the car, and we all bur-sted into laughter again
“It’s okay guys let’s go” Jessica said and I drove out of the compound.

Actually, it’s my car we used today, so I’ll drop them off one after the other.
“Goodbye guys, see you tomorrow” Lisa said as she got out of the car and went inside.

I dropped Wisdom and Jessica at the respective homes and went to my house.
“Where have you been brother, dad has been waiting for you since” My younger sister, Lenita said

“What happened? Why is he waiting for me?” I asked
“I don’t know but I think he’s quite angry about something” she replied
“And why are you shivering? Are you scared?” I asked as I held her hand

“I’m scared brother, hope he won’t get mad at you for going out without informing him?” she said
“Oh come on Lennie, don’t be scared, nothing will happen to your big bro. okay?” I said and hvgged her.

Lenita is a very sweet girl, just turned 9 last month which is January, she can’t bear to see me hurt, she’s always on my side, had it been I told her where I’m going, she would have settled my dad.

“Now let’s go in and st©p stressing your cute eyes, don’t cry okay? Everything will be alright” I said and carried her in my arms and went in.

Truth to her words, dad was there, in the large living room, tapping his feet on the floor, I can see he is furious
“Where have you been Archie? Tell me where you’re coming from now!” he roared like a lion

“I went out with my friends” I said fearlessly, unlike Lenita who is alre-ady shivering in fear
“You went out with your friends???” he questioned

“Yes father” I replied
“Are you mad?! You dare lie to me?? Do you think I’m a dummy??” he shouted

“Can’t I go out with my friends anymore dad? How will I lie about such things??” I shouted back
“Are you talking to me like that?!”

“Dad plea-se, I have work to do, if you nee-d me for anything, you can call me” I said and carried Lennie in my arms, and went upstairs straight to my room.

“You dare walk out on me!? Archie! Archie!! Archie!!!” I heard him calling me but I ignored him and went to my room with Lenita.

Dad is a very bad man, he left us for politics and anytime we asked him to come home that we missed him, he’ll shout on us over the phone and disconnected immediately.

What makes me hate him so much with pas-sion is when my immediate sister Kaima was sick, we took her to the hospital and the doctor said she is battling with cardiac arrest, the doctor said we should bring #50m for her operation but when we couldn’t get all the money, I made a suggestion that we should ask Dad for the money, mom called him but he shouted on us and told us to look for money elsewhere that we shouldn’t disturb him.

Mum tried to arrange the money but she could only gather #30m, we went to deposit that at the hospital but when we got there, we were told that Kaima is dead, it c@m£ to me like a shock, I couldn’t believe my ears, mum fainted when she heard that and all efforts to revive her went in vain, mum also died.

He went ahead to marry another woman whom I hate so much with pas-sion, but I got along with her when she seems so nice, and I even call her Mom.

That useless father killed my mother and sister, I won’t forgive him for that.

“Brother why are you crying?” Lenita asked as she wiped my tears with her little hand, so I have been crying since and I didn’t notice.

“Why are you crying brother, tell me” Lennie said again snapping me out of my thoughts

“It’s nothing dear, sit” I said and placed her on the king size be-d. I started singing a lullaby song while stro-king her long, dark, shiny hair.

Not long after that, she sle-pt off and I brou-ght out my as-signment.

I woke up at exactly 5 O’clock and I went to the bathroom, after bathing, I carried Lenita into the bathroom to bath her.
The maid had prepared our breakfast so we just ate and my driver drove me to school but not after dropping Lenita in school.

“Good morning guys” I greeted
“Good morning, hope you had a good night rest?” Jessie asked and I nodded positively

Jessamyn made way for me to pas-s and I sat down quietly
“What subject are we having now?” Samyn asked
“Lit-In-English” I replied

They spent the whole week in peace, nothing happened to anyone and no one find out who Jessamyn really is.

On Monday, the following week, all preparation for Valentine had been made.

“Now I feel like today is Valentine” I said
“Wait till tomorrow bro, your crush isn’t running away” Wisdom said and we all laughed

“You’re right, she isn’t running away” I said
“Who is she? Tell us” Jessica said and I win-ked at her
“Hum! No nee-d of saying her name, we alre-ady know her” Jessamyn said

“Alright, who is she?” I asked, I wanna be sure if they knew her truly
“Don’t worry, you know who we’re talking about” Lisa said
“Yes, we know her alre-ady, so no nee-d of telling us” Archie said
“It’s alright, let’s wait and see”

“Yipppeeeeeee!! 💃💃💃, The day has finally arrived, I can’t wait to see Tiana Hathaway” Jessica shouted running around in the clas-sroom

“Better don’t fall” I said
“And if she fall…?” Wisdom asked
“He will carry her” Lisa said and we laughed
We went to the hall and sat in the front row so that we can see Tiana Hathaway very well.

Not long after we c@m£ into the hall, students started trooping in. In no time, the hall was filled with students and the Snr prefect boy c@m£ to address us.

“Good morning everyone” he greeted
“Good morning” we all answered
“Today is the day we all are looking forward to, I’m very sure you’re all waiting to see Tiana”

“Yeeeessssss”
“Alright, let’s be sitted quietly as she said she is on her way here, in five minutes, I’m sure she’ll arrived” the Snr prefect boy said and we all sat down quietly.

“Make sure you come back quic-kly, you know Tiana will soon arrive” Lisa said while Samyn nodded and rushed out.
I alre-ady know what she’s going to do, I can’t wait to see her appear in front of us all.
