OUTING HIDDEN SECRETS
…………………………………..

When you and a person are best friend for a long time, you tend to know a lot about them and is able to pick up on small things.
That was how it has always been between Victoria and I. She could always tell when something was up with me or when I wasn’t in the mood and I could do the same with her.
We were able to re-ad each other’s expressions and moods so well that people would say that we were like two peas in a pod, but were totally different.
I guess that is what happens when you are friends with someone for as long as we are.
Right now was one of those times I could tell that something was up. Tori was laying on my be-d beside me, staring at the ceiling.
I’ve been talking to her, but her attention was elsewhere. She was obviously distracted by something.
“Are you even hearing a word I’m saying?” I said to get her attention, but didn’t get any response. I looked around at her to see that she was still spaced out. She looked to be de-ep in thought.
It wasn’t just today too, she has been like this since yesterday at school too.
She would be de-ep in thought and sometimes she would set like she wanted to tell me something and then at the last minute decided against it.
Now was no different. It was Saturday and she was still quiet and thoughtful.
We went to a café to gr-ab milkshakes, which she was craving and then we c@m£ to my house, where she ba-rely said two words. Something was definitely troubling her.
I was beginning to worry. I didn’t like seeing her like this, so I called her name softly and nudged her side. Snapping out of her daze, she finally turned to face me.
“Tori, what’s wrong?” I asked quietly.
She looked at me for quiet a while, before she sat up on the be-d facing me.
She gr@bb£d one of my pillows and hvgged it to her che-st. I sat up as well, resting my back on the pillow behind me.
This must be serious, because Tori has never hesitated to tell me anything before.
“I have to tell you something, Emily. I can’t keep it to myself anymore. I feel guilty for not telling you.” She said, her voice sounding nervous.
“What is it?” I asked as I felt my heart drop. I have to admit, now I was getting extremely worried.
Tori look down at her hands that she was pla-ying with and after a few seconds, which seem longer, she look at me. “I don’t know how to tell you this. I’m…um…I’m a lesbian.” She finally said.
I felt like a big load has been lifted from my che-st as I re-leased a breath that I didn’t know I was holding.
“Tori, you scared me. I thought you were going to tell me that you are pregnant or have cancer or something.” I said as relief wash over me. “Girl, I don’t care who you are attra-cted to.
That doesn’t matter. You are Victoria, my best friend, and that would never change.”
Tori re-leased a breath too and smile brightly. Now, that was the Victoria I knew. “Thank you for not judging me.” She said, then pu-ll-ed me into a hvg. I smiled and hvgged her ti-ghter.
When she sat back in her position, I sl@pped her on her arm. “Ouch!” She whines, ru-bbing her arm. “What was that for?”
“You should have known I wouldn’t have a problem with that. You know me.” I accused.
“You’re right. I’m sorry for doubting you.” She said, apologetically.
I laughed a little. “It’s okay. I’m just glad you told me now.”
She smiled brighter. “We good?”
A gave her a wi-de grin. “Always.”

At the end of the day on Monday, I left the school’s building and turned in the direction of home. This morning Tyler told me that his car was at a garage, so my stepmother gave me a ride to school.
Now, I didn’t feel like taking the bus. I wanted to walk and enjoy the nice breeze that the day offers. It was only a twenty minutes walk anyways.
I didn’t bother waiting on Tyler, because he’d probably get a ride with Seth. Plus, I don’t think anyone noticed me, leaving school alone.
I was only a few distance from school, when I heard someone walked up behind me. I looked around and saw that it was Tyler. “You don’t nee-d to walk with me, you know.”
He c@m£ beside me. “Yes I do. It’s going to look weird if you walk home alone and I leave with Seth.”
“Well, I don’t think anyone notice me.” I said, even though I wasn’t sure.
“You don’t know that.” He said. He was probably right, so I didn’t say anything more. After a while, he surprised me by sli-pping his hand in mine.
I looked at him. “What are you doing?”
That annoying sm-irk appeared on his face. “It’s called holding hands.”
I glared at him. “You know what I mean. Why are you holding my hand?”
“It is what couples do.” He said.
I looked behind me and saw that our school was ba-rely visible now. “Yeah, but no one can see us.”
“True, but some of them do drive here. So, we have to look loving.” He replied.
I rolled my eyes and sighed. I really hated this. It was funny how Tyler knew a lot about relationsh!ps considering he never had one. He sure was full of surprises.
Logan was never inti-mate. I can’t recall a time where he ever held my hands. I used to think that public displ@yof affection was just not his thing.
I have to be honest, Tyler’s hand in my hand was a little unsettling. I couldn’t help that I was aware of his t©uçh and how tingly my hand felt in his.
This shouldn’t be happening. This is Tyler for goodness sake! I shouldn’t be affected like this or be aware of how close he was beside me.
I had to put a st©p to this. Slowly, I re-moved my hand from his. “I think it’s okay for us to st©p holding hands now.” I said, trying to be casual about it.
Tyler raised his eyebrows at me and chuckled. “I know you don’t like me very much, but you don’t have to make it that obvious.”
“Who says I don’t like you?” I asked. I didn’t hate him. I was a little disgusted by his lifestyle, but I didn’t hate him.
“No one had to say it. It’s obvious.” He replied.
“Well, I have nothing against you.” I said truthfully.
“It’s weird. Most girls at school would be trying to get my attention, but not you.” He mused. It didn’t sound like it bothered him. In fact, it seems as though he found it intriguing.
“That’s because I’m not like the girls you are used to.” I said simply.
“That’s true. That I noticed.” He agreed.
“Is it a bad thing?” I asked.
“No.” He said, grinning at me mischievously. “It just means that you are fun to tease, because you are easily annoyed.” He leaned towards me and pinched my cheek as he said that.
I swatted his hand away and glared at him. “Tyler, don’t do that.” I warned.
“See?” He joked, laughing at my expression.
I rolled my eyes. “You are so immature.”
He looked at me and win-ked. “You know you love it.” He tea-sed.
“I do not!” I expressed and Tyler howled with laughter. Shaking my head at him, I couldn’t help but conceal a smile.
Even though he was a moron, I have to admit, I was glad for Tyler’s company to walk home.

Episode 12

LOCKED OUT
……………….
Tyler and I walked on in comfortable silence. I was ahead of him walking with my head down and he was a few steps behind me. We had about five minutes before we reached to our houses.
Walking in silence, I couldn’t help my mind from wandering. Currently, I was trying to figure out Logan. Today in science clas-s, he sli-pped me a piece of paper. On it, he was once again asking for another chance, complemented with a sad face.
I had tossed it in the bin on my way out of the clas-s without giving him a second glance.
However, since I’ve received the note, I’ve been trying to figure him out. He was seeing Trisha behind my back for three months. If he cared about me at all, he would have ended it sometime between those months.
So why was he so intent on getting me back now?
Logan was not an easy person to un-derstand. He has never let me in much or spoke about his feelings.
I really wanted to know why he cheated on me in the first place. Did I do something wrong? Was I a bad girlfriend?
I was brou-ght from my thoughts by Tyler’s voice. “What are you thinking about so intently?” He asked. He was now walking beside me. I was so de-ep in thought, that I didn’t notice that he was walking beside me again.
“I was thinking about Logan.” I answered honestly.
“Why are you thinking about him?” He question, pu-lling his brows in confusion.
“I was just wondering what I had done to make him do what he did.” I confided.
“Ohh,” he was quiet for a while and then he asked. “What did he do anyways?”
I looked down and kicked a small pebble that was in my path. “He was cheating on me for three months. I walked in on him and some girl ma-king out at school.” I shook my head.
“Woah, he cheated on you? Given the fact that he wants you back so bad, I thought he had done something small.” He reasoned. I just nodded my head and he added. “I guess you are doing the right thing then.”
“Yeah,” is all I said. I looked up and saw that my house was a few feet away. I was so distracted by our conversation that I didn’t realize we had reach home.
Tyler did not say anything more and I was glad for that, because I really didn’t want to talk about Logan anymore. We continued the few distance that was left in silence.

I bid goodbye to Tyler and walked over to my house, while he continued the journey over to his.
While I walked to the door, I began to dig my hand in my back pack for my keys. When I finally reached the door, I was still searching throu-gh my bag.
Where the hell is my keys?
I searched every comp@rtment and still didn’t find it. I let out a frustrated sigh as I c@m£ to the conclusion that I had left it this morning.
What was I going to do? My dad was still at work and Sarah was still at work and I had no idea when they were coming home.
In desperation, I begin to search my bag again to make sure. Without any luck, I leaned my head on the door and closed my eyes.
“Having some trouble over there, Princess?” I heard Tyler ask from next door. I open my eyes and look over at him, leaning on his front door. His arms were crossed and he had a teasing smile on hisl-ips.
“If you are ma-king fun of me, Tyler, I just want you to know that it’s not funny.” I sh0t at him. He just started laughing. He had the nerve. “You know, I’m glad you find this funny.”
Still chuckling, he uncrossed his arms and leaned from the door. “You can come and stay over here.” He suggested.
I gave him a ‘are you serious?’ look, but I doubt he saw it from where he stood. “Why would I do that?” I asked.
“Because, it’s better than sitting in front of your house all evening.” He replied.
I looked over at him and I knew he was right. A knowing sm-irk appeared on his face as he saw my expression. He knew that he won and he was enjoying it. Damn him!
Sighing heavily, I took up my bag from off the porch where I had put it. “Fine.” I said, as I began to walk to his house.
When I got to his house, he was still smiling in all his annoying glory. “I know you couldn’t resist me.” He said.
I glared at him. “Would you shut up and open the damn door?” I commanded.
He held up his hands in surrender, before turning around and opening the door. When we entered, he head upstairs to his room and I followed.
When we entered his room, Tyler’s phone made a sound, indicating he got a message and he retrieved it from his pocket.
While Tyler was texting on his phone, I rest my bag on the floor by the door and walk over to his window.
I noticed that a tree was close by his window and there was a sturdy limb that stretched towards mine. It wasn’t exactly close or directly in front of it, but it was close enough.
My mind started to race as crazy thoughts entered. Maybe if I climb onto the tree and crawl onto the limb, I could stretch my way into my room. My window was unlock, so I could ease up the window and sl!pthrou-gh.
Without turning around to face Tyler, I asked. “Do you think I could climb onto this tree and make my way over to my room?”
“Not if you want to break your n£¢k.” He responded.
“I wouldn’t fall,” I argued, indicating the distance and the tree with my hands. “It’s pretty simple.
I would just climb unto that limb and…” I trail off as I realize that it would be impossible. It was a very dangerous task.
I sighed heavily and turned around to look at Tyler. His attention was on me and he watched me with an amused expression. His hands was prop behind his head and he look so comfortable and carefree lying there.
His hair was tousled and spiked up in every direction from running his hands throu-gh it. I have to admit, even with his hair like that, he still manage to look h0t.
My eyes trailed down and I noticed that he had re-moved his shi-t. I couldn’t take my eyes from his shi-tless b©dy and that disturbe-d me a lot.
Trying to f0rç£ my eyes away, I noticed a small tattoo on his che-st. I’ve never seen him shi-tless and up close before, so I didn’t know he had a tattoo.
I was pu-ll-ed from my thoughts by the sound of Tyler’s voice. “I know I’m h0t and have a gorgeous b©dy, but you will have to st©p looking at me at some point.” He tea-sed.
I felt a blus-h creeping up my cheeks at his words. “Get over yourself, Tyler.” I said, pla-ying it off. “I was only looking at your tattoo.” At least it was not far from the truth.
He sm-irked knowingly at me. “I’m sure you were.”
Ignoring his comment, I walked towards him to get a closer look at his tattoo. I don’t know why, but I was intrigued.
When I was near him, I saw that the tattoo was a symbol. I’ve never seen a symbol like that before and I was curious. “What does it mean?” I asked.
He looked at the tattoo and then looked back at me. “It means strength.” He then smile mischievously. “You can t©uçh it if you want. You know you want to.”
I rolled my eyes and snorted. “I’m not tou-ching your-” The rest of my words were cut off as Tyler gr@bb£d my hands and pu-ll-ed me towards him. Taken off guard, I lost my balance and fell on t©p of him.
“Tyler!” I screamed, shock by what he had done. He wra-pped his arms around me, pinning me down so I couldn’t move.
“Tyler, let me go this instant!”
Tyler’s che-st rumbled as he laughed. I was very aware that I was lying on his n-ked che-st. Tyler’s eyes twi-nkle with laughter.
He was clearly enjoying himself. “Tyler, if you don’t-” My warning was cut short as I heard the handle to Tyler’s room door turning.
I snapped my head around in surprise, my eyes wi-dening in shock. Oh God, this was going to be embarras-sing! There was nothing I could do, but wait for whoever it was to enter the room.
