I head out from my penthouse, I was ready to leave for work , my handbag in one hand and my car keys in the other , my phone rang and I brou-ght it out it’s my bestfriend Jess .
“Hello purple Gwen ” she yelled making me rolled my eyes the moment I picked the call.
“You know I have a name right ? ” I hissed at her opening my car and dropping my bag on pa-ssengers seat.
She chuckled.
“Oh common purple, it’s been so long since your called that or you prefer golden Gwen since your hair is now gold?” she asked sarcastically I got into my car and put my phone on loud speaker dropped it on the pa-ssenger seat beside my handbag and started
my car.
” That was then you know, I’ve changed, I no longer have a purple hair, but yeah maybe golden Is better than purple ” I told her.i started driving out of my penthouse.
” But your old self was the real you Gwen , I missed your purple hair, I wish you could turn it back” she continued sounding like a kid begging for cookies .
I Chuckled.
“Stop your silly drama Jess,” I told her.
“Nah seriously” she hissed ” you need to reconsider girl , even if you’ve changed your hair it doesn’t hide the real fact that purple is your natural hair, and your still that same beautiful purple Gwen of Alexander high, all this year’s was nothing to be forgotten, I wish i could turn the clock , high school was really
fun ” she said making me sad.
I remembered all the things that had happened in the past, everything was such a sweet and bitter memory , I remembered aunty Emily and Susan, I left them to Spain , aunty Emily tried all her best to stop me, but who was she kidding?
Am still sure they still live in my father’s house, anyways aunty Emily and I met 2 years back , she knew I’ve found my mom , but to my surprise that woman hasn’t changed one bit, she even yelled at me that I was wicked that I was enjoying my mother’s money and forgot her , mom gave her some money
because she was a family to us even if she has a spirit of saying stupid things , I thought mom was going to hate her and forbid her from coming to us, but mom has a good heart , she even welcomed her whole hearted like there was nothing, sometimes aunty Emily will come visit us and eat as much as she wants at the end mom will give her lots of money , she
wouldn’t even say thank you she will leave, but all this while she kept coming, I never for once saw Susan with her.
I asked her of Susan , but she laughed and said she doesn’t know where she was that she’s just like shadow to Susan, and she hardly spent time at home,i couldn’t help but feel pity for her, I couldn’t understand the kind of daughter Susan was, and i think aunty Emily might be blamed for it, she gave her a free hand that’s why she became like that, I don’t
Even know if she’s serious about university,did she even go? I asked aunty Emily but she said susan isn’t an education girl, and I think I understand what she meant, Susan wss never serious about school.
Right from highschool Susan is a girl that doesn’t stay home, the only time I see her is in the morning or night , she was always out ,mom asked aunty Emily to stay with us but she refused that she would stay alone but when she needs money she will be coming straight to us .
I don’t hate aunty Emily, once she’s given money then she’s okay.
” Hello Gwen are you there ?” I heard Jess voice as I snapped out of my thought.
” Sorry girl ” I said as i head into TBWI and parked my car ,I took my phone and silent it then placed it on my ear .
” So umm I was thinking we should go for shopping today , how do you see that ?” Jess asked .
I took my handbag and started heading into the company.
” I would had really love to girl but am busy at the moment, our company have some new partnership and we need to make some deals,so we could do business together” I said heading to the top building all the staff greeted me and i nodded at them .
” Oh okay then, you know this work of yours doesn’t allow us spend time together anymore,I hope am not lossing my bestfriend?” Jess asked sadly .
Well it’s true, since I started working,i hardly have time to spend with Jess , she’s like a sister to me, more than a best friend, she’s the one who believes in me and try to make me strong when I ended everything with marion , she was really there to console me , but she sometimes tell me I should had listened to Marion , or I should try to see him , which I will get pissed off and she will apologize for saying such things, but sometimes I felt like she was right ,
maybe I should had given him time to explain.
But i was so hurt then, I couldn’t think straight, and at a point i felt like why should I even listen to him, because if nothing is going on between them , then why was Ava at his house, why did he let her in, he hide the truth from me that he was seeing Ava, and seeing both of them having s-ex broke me completed
that at that moment all I need is to lock myself away from the world, I was heart broken by the man I love, maybe I was just not enough for him.
“Sorry babe, I will make it up to you , how about we grab Starbucks tomorrow I will come straight to your house once am done with work” I said trying to get her In a brighter side.
She sighed.
“That will be nice Gwen ” she said and i smiled
“Alright i got to go ,love you ” I said into the phone.
“Love you too bye ” she said and hanged up .
” Good morning beautiful” I heard a familiar voice from behind and i turned to see Evans Paige one of the workers his the accountant, I smiled at him .
“Morning Evans” i smiled at him .
” You look stunning this morning beautiful” he
commented my dress and I smiled cheekily at him.
” And your not looking bad yourself” I said .
We Chuckled.
Well Evans is a very handsome guy and am sure we might be off the same age, but he wasn’t as handsome as Marion , well I just said the truth , maybe it’s because am blinded my undying love for him that’s why I think his handsome than all the men I’ve met , damn he was the only thing in my mind and i wonder why i couldn’t forget him for the the past 5
years .
“So umm, are we still up for that date I asked you about ?” He asked bringing me out of my thought and i frowned, I really don’t want to go out with him anymore, it wasn’t helping at all cause I feel nothing for him .
“Well Evans you know how busy I am with work , how about we post pone it?” I asked finding a reason not to go with him, I mean his a good guy , and I just like him as a friend, but date is exceptional.
” Alright beautiful i understand” he said .
I forced a smile at him.
” Darling” I turned to see my mom smiling and coming towards me I hug-ged her back.
“Morning mom” I told her, Evans said morning and left us.
” Morning darling, wow you look so gorgeous in your outfit” she said with a big smile on her face i blus-hed .

” Oh mom ” I winned as she kis-sed my cheek
“thanks mom ” I said .
” It’s nothing darling, common our visitors are here, and they are waiting to meet you ” she said and i smiled .
“I hope am good mom” I said gesturing my Dress she chuckled and patted my cheek .
“Oh my ,of course darling, you look fabulous”she complimented and I smiled .
“Common lets go they must be waiting” she said and i nodded .
We walked to the board room and she entered first.
“Sorry for the delay , here she is” my mom said as i smiled , I was ready to open my mouth to greet when I stopped short , my jaw Dropped and I looked shocked or maybe surprised.
Right Infront of me is no one else but my ex fiance Marion Rodriguez and his father Malcolm Rodriguez, I could see the shock on their faces too and my family too who was just staring at us .
What the hell is going on here? So they are the new partner we have ? We will be working together?I quickly composed myself , I wasn’t gonna give him the benefit that I was shocked to see him again , I kept my shoulders and head high like nothing happened, like I don’t know him like am not aware that his in the same room with me, everything will be
professional and I better act good on it because he still has that eyes that kept pulling me to him all the time .
Just great , when I thought everything was over, he appears again , he f*ckin appeared in my life again.
