I hurried out to the sitting room and everyone seems so happy, i wipe away my tears and walked up them faking a smile.
“where’s Milton? my mom asked.
“he’s coming mom, i really appreciates your effort for making my day,” i said smiling.
“you want more cake Delphine, you’ve haven’t eat anything much,” my mom said.
“no mom, i’ll be right back,” i said then left, i went outside and sat down on alone.
“please Delphine you need to hear me out. I’ve been hiding this feelings for such a very long time and it keep on hurting me, i need to let it out, i need to let you know about this before it too late for me. Delphine i love you and i seriously do,”
Clark’s word flash throu-ghmy brain and that make me feel so sad, i just need to be strong, Milton pushed me into saying that to him, i knows it hurts but that’s the truth, my heart only beat for Clark now. I wipe away my tears and went back in, Milton was also at the dining table with them, he looks so sad, our eyes meet and i quickly looked away. After the celebration, i thank Amy for coming and also Jason, they make things lively.
?Livvy and Jason walked to the gate.
“thank you Jason, it all because of you, you’ve made this day, and am doing all this to make my children happy, you’ve taken a lot of responsibilities in this family, it all because of you living in such a big mansion,” she said while Jason just smiled.
“Livvy i will do everything to make sure you are happy with your children, and thank you so much for accepting my offer,” he said while she just smiled.
⏭️Immediately after my lectures in the evening i hurried to see Milton at home but i was told he travel this morning to New York and he only left a note for me. I unfold the paper which reads:-
“am leaving for good, because it seems am of no good staying here with you since you’re already in love with your Clark, then you guys should moved on,”.
I read the letter, and felt so sad. I return back home so sad about everything, well i blame myself for this, i shouldn’t have said that to him, i know it hurts, but that what i feel for Clark, well i have to learn to be my own hero because the people you can’t live without can leave without you.
⏭️Nicole walked down the street that night, when a man walked up to her.
“Clark, has travel out,” he said.
“he did, well i guess that actually good to get back at him throu-ghhis dad, make sure you did what i asked you tomorrow night,” Nicole smiled while the guy left.
“mom won’t allow me stay long in jail, am out, i know everyone must have know about my plans by now, Clark will surely regret this for exposing me,” Nicole smiled to herself then hurried back home.
?Delphine’s POV ?
I was in my bedroom, I tried calling Milton throu-ghout the whole day but it was unable to connect, I later video call him which went throu-gh.
“Milton,” I said looking so worried.
“Delphine do you still care about me, i thought you’ve only love and care about Clark,” he said with much sadness on his face.
“no Milton, you pushed me into saying that. I didn’t mean to you hurt you that way but you shouldn’t have left just the way Clark did,” i said while he just smiled.
“you think i could be so foolish to leave the girl i have always loved, i just did that to know if you still care about me, i told my maid to tell you that, am actually at home right now,” he said while i smiled.
“are you serious? i asked him again in disbelieve.
“just dressed up and coming to pick you up,” he said then hanged up. I quickly dressed up while Milton came in after some minutes and took me out in his car. I felt so happy to know he has not truly leave me this time, at least i will have someone with me.
We arrived to his house and we walked to his room, which was huge and nice looking.
“i wouldn’t be so foolish to leave just the way Clark did. Clark doesn’t truly loves you because if he did he wouldn’t have leave you here, he didn’t even care to tell you about his leaving, think of this Delphine, Clark doesn’t love you, he just wanted to ruin our relationship but am not giving up on you, and am not sharing you with anyone else because i truly love you Delphine,” he said holding my shoulders. I guess Milton is right maybe Clark doesn’t truly love me and beside we can never be together with him so i can forget about him, i thought to myself.
“Delphine am not angry with what you said about you loving Clark, but i just want you to know Clark doesn’t love you that much,” Milton said while i looked at him then fake a smile .
“even if Clark truly loves me, he actually left just to let us be,” i said while Milton hug-ged me. We went to the dining room and dinner was already serve. We sat down close to each and had dinner in silence, after dinner we went to the pool side, Milton sat on the swing bed while i sat down close to him.
“so what about Clark? he asked me.
“i thought we’ve discus this, Clark has already leave, and am so grateful for staying back just because of me,” i said while he smiled.
“and just because i love you, i just wish no one will ever come to separate us again,” he said while i just smiled back. He pulled me closer to him, rested my head on his ch-est then ki-ssed my hair, i just looked up to him and smile.
I felt asleep on his ch-est until i was awake by my phone because it was vibrating, i quickly picked it up, it was David.
“you need to come home immediately,” he said with a cracking voice then hanged up before i could say any other thing.
“i need to go,” i quickly stood up while Milton was surprise to see me so worried that way.
“David just call, and i could tell he was crying, i need to go,” i said while Milton insisted to take me home himself.
⏭️I hurried home but was shocked by what i saw, our whole house got burnt, the fire service was already their but i guess they were late because the whole house was burnt.
“where’s my mom? i yelled as i walked towards the place but was held by the security men.
“Delphine,” i heard someone call my name and i was glad to see David alive.
“where’s grandma, what about mom? i asked looking so scared i just hope nothing happen to them.
“grandma is save but… mom..,” he said crying.
“what happen to mom? i asked, my heart almost froze at that time. I looked at the other direction and saw my grandma crying, while someone was in a stretcher, i hurriedly went over their.
“who’s this grandma? i asked her in tears.
“it your mom, Livvy,” my grandma cried.
I felt the whole world crushing down on him, i fall on the ground and everywhere was dark.
⏭️ When i later woke up i found David and grandma by my side, they were all in tears.
“where’s mother, where’s my mom? i yelled as i stood up to leave but they held me back.
“mom, couldn’t make it, she’s already at the mortuary,” grandma said while i did nothing but to cried..
