I went to pick Wendy up from the airport and we went home in a cab
The car was silent and I decided to speak up first
“I saw Jaden’s interview it was good but also a bit harsh,I guess you guys had discussed about it, I’m just saying,it was crazy the way he denied being in a full blown relationship with you” I said
“Tell me about, he told me we should keep a low key on the relationship but I didn’t think it would hurt this much” she replied
“ Have You guys like talked about it” I said
“I just I don’t want to talk to him right now I think I need some space away from everything, it’s just if he loved his career so much why bother asking me out in the first place” she said
“I know right just selfish, I think”
She turned to the window and said
“I’d almost forgotten how Pennsylvania looked like ”
“Yeah it looks new I didn’t pay much visit after the scholarship anyway” I said
”Me too the buildings look shorter” she said
“Exactly what I thought when I came” I replied
“It’s beautiful though and all this Halloween decorations just looks magical” she said

We turned back out and stare outside the window gazing at the decorations

“I thought you were afraid of heights after your dad” she said
“Well I was until yesterday apparently, I think I felt safe in his hands” i said
“Really and why was that” she replied
“I guess because I kinda like told him everything and he cared,like Liam Cambridge actually cared then he took me up to the lighthouse and it felt magical I saw a side of him that I think no one has saw and will probably never see he wasn’t that callous workaholic he was Liam and this Liam cared” I said
“You’ve spoken to him since then” she said
“Not really I think we’re both avoiding a conversation because last night when he dropped me off he just told me he was going to leave soon and nothing else” I said
“You should know how he feels to make sure it’s not one sided” she said
“I don’t think you understand Wendy,I actually felt Sparks,I mean I’ve felt them before with him I guess,but this time it was different it felt as if the world had stopped spinning for just the both of us” I said
“And you’re sure it’s not infatuation” she replied
“Oh come on Wendy I know the difference between infatuation and love” I said
“Ok if you say so, I’m just saying, be careful, you’re kinda fragile when it comes to this and we both know that” she replied

We arrived home and we found Victoria in the living room
She was on her phone
“Where’s mom and Clark” I asked
“Mom went to Mrs Woodsworth house And as for Clark I don’t know, maybe school, I don’t think school’s over yet” she said
“Speaking of school when are you returning back to the uni” I said

“Ok it’s a senior from my school that I kinda have a crush on and he like messaged me on insta and we been talking since, I think the feelings mutual” she said

“What but Skylar soon to be engaged or Sky” she said giving the shocked look
“No nothing like that, let’s say I just realized I’m in love with the person who I’m supposedly to get married to” I said
“I’m so thirsty and besides the reunion’s tomorrow we need to rest up” Wendy said

Clark and Liam suddenly came through the door
“Where were you Clark” Wendy said

We made eye contact several times but I couldn’t stare for too long

It was homecoming I felt a wave of nostalgia hit me and I could imagine myself in the halls, highschool was one bittersweet experience
