“plea-se leave me….” She said childishly removing my hand off her shoulder.
“I said I don’t like her…. It was just a prank” I said smiling.
“I don’t care… It didn’t sound like a prank” she snapped.
“What if I tell you, you are the one I like” I said smiling at her…. She smiled back blu-shing.
“Idiot….”
“Really….” She said twisting her f!ngers.
“Yeah….. So if you like me too, you should do whatever I like right” I said
“Offcourse…. I really really love you” she said holding my hands.
“Good…. Now tell me, who is she and what business does she have here” I asked again.
“Well she is Rhea Phogat but people around here calls her Sasha….. She works at Sir Nas-ser’s club, you know as a prostitute…… That’s all I know about her” She said.
I stared at her for a while before shifting my stare to Rhea whom was now sitting on Chief Varma’s l@ps…. Her face doesn’t seem that good, its as if she was trying to conceal pain.
“Why is she with your father” I asked.
“She’s my dad’s mistress…. They do hang out more often” She said.
“Your father’s mistress…. How did they meet each other”
“I don’t know, I just told you I c@mÂŁ back from Canada…..”
“But you should know your father well…. And why is he having a mistress… What happened to your mum”
“My mum…. I’ve never meet her, I grew up with aunty…. My dad ha-rd ly talks about mum” She said.
I kept staring at Rhea wondering what was going on there “But Rocky…. Why do you want to know… You said you don’t like her right” she snapped me out of my thought.
“ yeah…. I don’t, I just felt like knowing” I said faking a smile.
“Okey…. That’s a relief”
“Andris…. Make sure you don’t tell anyone not even your father what we discussed”
“Why??…. You don’t nee-d to be scared of him”
“Just do as I have instructed, if you want me to like you” I said.
“Offcourse…. Its our couple secret” she said smiling.
“Idiot….Who are the *our*….”
The ceremony gradually c@mÂŁ to an end and all the guest started leaving one after the other, I tried to leave as well but the security guards didn’t let me out.
“Am in a jail or something?” I asked one of them.
“No… You aren’t, Chief Varma demands your presÂŁnce” He said
“My presÂŁnce…. Why?” I asked surprised.
“I won’t know…. Come with me” he said and left… I followed suit.
He took me to a different p@rt of the building…. It was guarded with armed men re-ady to attack any time.
We got to a door and he st©pped, he knocked slightly… After a few minutes Chief Varma’s voice answered to the door.
“Come in Rocky….” he said.
“You heard him” the guard said and left.
I took in a de-ep breath before entering the room.
“Welcome son…. Sit” he said… He was standing at the window, his hand crossed behind him.
I stared round the room, from the giant be-d to the wardrobe…. Every thing was intact and at it right position.
I sat down at the armed chair facing another empty chair which am sure he would seat on, on t©p of the table was a h0t drink with two glas-s cu-p.
He turned towards me, smile plastered on his face… He walked to the other chair and sat down.
“Let’s drink…” he said pouring me a drink, likewise for himself.
“Actually…. I don’t drink” I said rejecting the drink…. I really don’t trust him, with the way he betrayed my father and the way he is currently treating my sister… He might have as well know my true identity and he’s trying to poison me.
“You don’t nee-d to be scared son…. I call you son because I like you, I would never harm you” he said handing over the wine glas-s to me.
I had no choice than to accept the drink “Cheers to our new family” He said raising his own wine glas-s to me.
“Cheers….” I said and we clink our cu-p together.
I took a little sip and dropped the wine.
“So…. What do you think about my daughter” He asked.
“I don’t un-derstand chief….” I said surprised.
“Enough of the chief talks…. You can call me dad” He said smiling.
“What the heck?… I can never call you that, do you seriously think you can be my father”
“Dad….?” I asked.
“Yeah…. Dad, get use to it son… Since we would soon become in-laws” he said and laughed.
“In-laws…. You seriously want me to marry your dumb daughter….”
“I don’t un-derstand…” I said, he glanced at me, he mood changed.
“What don’t you un-derstand son…. Okey let make it clear…” He said dropping his wine.
“I have searched everywhere and I didn’t find a perfect groom for my daughter… I almost gave up until I saw you… Something kept telling you were the one”
“And from the look of things… My daughter loves you and I wound appreciate it if you return the love…. You know one sided love weaks the heart…. I don’t want that for me daughter”
“So….. you want me to marry your daughter” I asked.
“Off course… You don’t look bad for my daughter and my daughter don’t look bad either, you both would make a wonderful couple… Trust me”
“Think about it wisely…. Andris is my only child, you as her husband would inherit everything I have, my wealth, my fame, my position everything…. That’s why I want to make you the fifth knight, my son in law should be introduced into my business properly” he said and sipped his wine.
“Okey…. I will think about it” I said.
“Be wise…. And make the right choice… Remember all I said” he said and I nodded.
“I will start the marriage preparation… Its going to be the best, Andris is my only child and I want to give her the best” he said.
“But chief… I haven’t agreed to the marriage yet” I said staring at him.
He smiled “Am sure you know whom Chief Kumara Varma is… My tales would be told in generation to come… The people I have killed, the immovable mountains I have moved, the great people I ended their greatness…. Slaves un-der my control…. Am sure you must have heard about me” he said staring at me.
“I am… Chief Kumara Varma, what I want I get… Andris is my only child and her enemies are my enemies…. I have sworn to give her anything she asks for… The very best”
“Listen carefully Rocky….. Your answer, you have given to me and the answer is a yes…. Start loving my daughter, the sooner the better”
“Because a single tear from her eyes…. The blood of you and your entire family will flood round the city… I will take away everyone, everything you cherish including the life of whom ever you are comparing with my daughter”
“I believe I have made myself clear” he said staring at me.
We both stared at each other for the next five minutes, alot of things ran throu-gh my mind.
“Coming here was definitely a bad idea…. I can’t marry my enemies daughter…. I can never do that”
“What do I do… Chief Varma won’t spear me if I say no to him…., but who allows his daughter marry someone he just meet”
“We just meet sir… What I mean is that we should take things easy… We shouldn’t get married yet” I said.
“Its better you both get married now… When you are still young and have children when still young” he said.
“But….”
“Rocky…. I really don’t want to add your name and that of your family to the list of those I have killed” he said.
“I believe you don’t want me to do that” he asked.
“Yeah… Don’t” I found myself saying.
The door opened and three guards walked in all armed.
“Take him to my daughter…. Am sure she’s waiting” Chief Varma instructed.
“So fast…. She is such an idiot for agreeing to such”
“Fellow me sir….” one of them said.
I glanced at Chief Varma not knowing what else to do or say… I can’t run, I don’t even know my way round, the house is so big besides everywhere is guarded with armed men.
“Be sure to take care of my daughter….” he said.
“Off course…. I will” I said bowing before I left his room.
