🎩Emeka’s POV🎩
“Boss!” I hail the head of security guards at the gate.
“Emeka omo una” Mr Ben hail in return
“Say we-tin happen” A guard said
I gave him a confused look
“Why you reach school early today?” The guard said again And Mr Ben and some other guards laughed
“I be good student na” I replied
“Emeka the good student” Mr Ben mocked
“Boss.. Na so” I said
“Oh boy..This new Emeka good o. See as your uniform set” Mr Ben Said
“What inspired this change?” Another guard asked
I thought of Kate! She was the reason behind the new Emeka.
I am tall, Fair skin with a bright smile. I was rowdy and sometimes rou-gh. I was given nicknames by students and teachers.
Emeka the troublesome boy, Minister of Girls affairs, Woman wra-pper… Etc.
I was fond of the girls but never picked interest in any girl except Katherine. She was Gorgeous! I always found myself glancing at her her in clas-s. It was so ha-rd to not notice her during clas-s. If
only she’d pay me some attention. It seems Kate wasn’t interested in being friends with any boy..
But still I was determined to be friendly.
Then I noticed Kate coming in with other students.
“See you Later!” I waved at them and raced to meet up with Kate.
“Hi” I said when I got to her side
She didn’t respond
I blocked her pathway
“Oh girl.. It’s polite to answer a greeting o” I said
She moved away from me and walked off.
I stared at her. How could she act to me like that. Did she know who I am?
“Omo this girl bad pas-s Witch” I muttered

💋Katherine’s POV💋
“Will you come with us to the basketball court?” Elena asked as we walk down the hallway
“What’s going on there?” I said
“The pla-yers are practicing” Temi replied
I wasn’t interested in watching Joseph pl@yin the court.
“You can go ahead” I said
“What about you?”
“I’ll go to the libr@ry”
“Why don’t you want to come along?” Temi asked
“Nothing”
“Is this about Joseph?” Elena asked
I didn’t answer
“You should be nice to Joseph” Temi Said
“You know he doesn’t mean any harm” Elena added
They both st©pped and face me
“I think I know why she doesn’t want to be nice to Joseph” Temi said to Elena
What does she know?
“Tell me plea-se” Elena said without looking away from me. Temi folded her arms.
“Its because of Angella” Temi blurted
“No.. No.. ” I stuttered
And st©pped
“Yes.. I’m right” Temi pointed
“Kate, Joseph is nice, even though he’s friends with Angella” Elena added
“They are different.. Trust me” Temi said
I stared at them
Temi was right! I was avoiding Josoeh for so many things which Angella was the main reason.
“So what do you say?” Temi asked
“You.. Girls.. Can’t un-derstand…” I said unsteadily
“Perhaps.. Are you talking to him behind our backs?” Temi asked
“No!” I exclaimed
“Then tell us what we don’t un-derstand” Elena said
I rolled my eyes at them. There’s no way I’m going to make them un-derstand. Everyone would
keep blaming me Like my dad.
“I.. I.. Don’t.. want anyone to.. accuse .. me of trying..to steal.. her b©yfri£nd” I said
That’s not even the point!
“You mean Angella?” Elena asked
And I nodded
“Come on Kate!” Temi said
We continued walking
“We’re friends with Joseph, even though he is Angella’s b©yfri£nd” Temi said
I wasn’t surprised! Cullen alre-ady informed me that Angella and Joseph are together. Best Couple!
Elena gr@bb£d my right hand while Temi took the other one.
“No excuse” Temi Said
They dragged me along with them to the basketball court.
Everyone was seated. I pu-ll-ed my facecap properly to hide my face from the Junior Students.
They won’t st©p talking about me and also asking me for my number. Some boys even s£nt me love notes which I pas-sed to Elena and Temi. They are always interested in re-ading those silly
notes.
We all settled in the back seats.
“I don’t think this is a good idea” I muttrerd when I noticed Angella and her girls in the room.
I was trying my best to avoid Angella Benson. The students in the front row turned to look at us.
“Oh! Its s£nior Kate!” a girl whispered
“Wow! She’s pretty”
“I can’t believe she’s in here”
Another girl said
“Are you here to watch the game or whisper about her?” Temi said in a harsh tone
They apologized and focused on the game
“You know.. I’ve always wondered how it must feel to be beautiful” Elena Said
“It’s not fun” I replied
“For me.. Its fun with this kind of reaction you get from people” Temi Said
“And men” Elena
added
“I don’t get any from.. Men” I said
Then we heard a loud noise in the room
“Look at that! Joseph just scored a point!” Elena cl@pped excitedly
She seems too excited about Joseph. And I got to thinking over and over again that Elena felt something for him too. She looked at him differently and always re-ady to defend Joseph.
Everyone stood up and cl@pped
“You can do it J. J!” Elena screamed
Angella looked back at her with a de-ep frown on her face but Elena didn’t care about the look. She
continued
“Go J. J! ” she chanted
And soon everyone joined her
“Go J. J! ”
And he hit the ball into the net again!
The other basketball pla-yers carried Joseph high up in the air. He blew a k!ssand directed it to Elena. She caught it in a mock style and threw her face cap up and saluted him.
I studied her expression closely and I found my answers.
Elena was in love with Joseph!
Damn it! It must have been ha-rd for her.. seeing someone you love d@t!nganother girl. It was a one sided love! And i hate that $h!t!

The door to the locker room opened and Job c@m£ in. He was on the team too.
“Captain, s£nior Angella is waiting for you” he said
“Outside? ”
“No.. In the room. s£nior Elena is there too”
“Perhaps.. Did you see Kate out there? ” I asked
“Yes..But She was about leaving when I left the court” Job replied
I had seen Kate beside Elena during the game. It was my first time of seeing her in the court.. and I was surprised! Still I was glad she had watched me pla-y. I wore my sports wear and rushed out of the locker room.
I was greeted by Angella and her girls at the entrance. She had a frown on her face.
“Hey.. Are you okay?” I asked
I leaned closely but she moved away and folded her arms.
I ran my hand over my face.
“Now won’t you tell me what exactly is wrong with you?” I asked
“I should be the one asking you. Tell me what do you want?”she said
“What do you mean? ”
“Why did you k!ssElena?”
“What?!.. I didn’t -”
“You threw a k!ssat her after the game”
I rolled my eyes
“Come on Mama that was a gesture”
“I don’t want you throwing k!sses at anyone” she said sternly
I moved closer
“You’re so jealous Ella” I pinched her cheeks
And her friends giggled at the look on her face.
“We nee-d to talk” she said
“plea-se not now.. Maybe after school” I grazed her cheeks with my knuckles
“Okay”
She k!$$£d my cheeks and walked off with her girls
I made my way back to the basketball room. I saw Elena, Temi and Kate in the court.
Elena threw a ball but it didnt go into the net. They giggled
“Oh! Why won’t I get it? Joseph would have scored point” Elena said
She threw the ball at Kate and she caught it. Kate bounced it and threw it into the net at a jump and it entered.
Wow! That was amusing!
“Hmm.. So you can even pl@ybasketball. You are just acting like novice” Temi said
“I’m dying to know the real Kate” Elena demanded
“This is the real Katherine Adebowale”
“So plea-se tell us about your skill” Temi said
“My best sport is Basketball..same with my big brothers”
“You have siblings?”
“Yes, 5 big brothers, all married except one who is studying in Italy” She said
“Wow! I used to think you are the only child” Elena Said
“Last Born and the only female child” Kate said
“Well my brothers taught me how to pl@ybasketball”
She said again
“So you have a court in your home?” Elena asked
“Yes.. But in our home in US” she answered
“Oh! Then I guess your parents are super Rich!” Elena said in a surprised tone
“There’s nothing special about it”
“You’ve been abroad.. ”
“Yes”
Then Elena glanced around the room and her gaze fell on me
“Joseph!” She waved
They were surprised
Kate looked away from me and threw the ball to Temi. I went to them.
“How long have you been standing there? “Temi asked
I scratched my ear
“Ahm.. Not too Long.. ”
“Oh.. so you heard everything?” Elena asked
I nodded
“Kate I never knew you could pl@ybasketball” I said
She didn’t respond
Temi pas-sed the ball to me, I bounced it and threw it into the net.
“Let’s pla-y” I announced
The girls exchanged glances
“I’ll take my leave now” Kate said
She started to walk away
“Are you going to be at the court next week?”
I asked
She st©pped and faced me
“No” she said
“Why?”
I threw the ball at her and she caught it. Kate toyed with it for a second and directed it back to me.
“Does my pres£nce guarantee your victory?”
She asked with a de-ep frown
“You can be my source of inspiration to scoring more points” I answered with a shrug and threw the ball in the net again.
“Look, why are you so pricky towards me? I’m a nice person, they can testify.. ” I pointed to Elena and looked at Temi
“Yes Mr Basketball we know you are nice” Elena said
“Can I go now?” Kate cuts in
“You can try me ” I said to her
“I mean let’s be friends” I said
Kate stared at me
Looking straight into those eyes, they are the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen.
Oh! That not cool! I shouldn’t b thinking otherwise about her. I have a girlfriend! Angella Benson!
I waited for her respond but none c@m£ from her. I heard her say some words but I couldn’t make s-en-se of them. Kate turned and moved out of the room. I exchanged glances with the other girls.
“Don’t pressure her” Temi Said
“Well I think she’s scared of something” Elena said
“Scared of what? Me? ”
“No, its more than just you” Temi shook her head
“Your girlfriend is enough to scare Katherine” Temi replied with a shrug and she made her way to the door
“Let’s go Elena!”she said loudly
Elena waved at me before running of to meet Temi.
Angella shouldn’t be the reason why Katherine won’t be friends with me.
Andgella is my Girlfriend! Yes I know! But I also want to be close to kate!
Why? Well I don’t know.. I just found myself thinking she’d atleast pay me some attention.

Well I think I like Kate attitude towards Joseph. She’s not drawn to him like other girls instead it the other way round with Kate!
